Plugin 1.4.0 doesn't work w/ gcc 3 Mozilla

I prefer to compile most apps on my desktop Linux machine. Using gcc 3 gives a notable speed improvement to Mozilla (0.9.9), but when I first tried it I was disappointed to find that it wasn't able to use Flash or Java plugins because of gcc 3's peculiarities. (gcc 3.0.4, to be exact)
Macromedia just posted version 5.0.48 of the Linux Flash plugin, which works fine w/ Mozilla compiled w/ gcc 3 (and fixes some other quirketies I saw in the last version). Any chance JRE 1.4.01 or something could be released, just a compile of JRE 1.4.0 with gcc 3?

Filed a bug (http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4687814.html) but it seems that Sun is not yet really aware of the importance of this issue...

  • I can't see my plugins/extensions/etc +adobe doesn't work

Ever since upgrading to Firefox 5.0, I cannot see anything in my add-ons manager except for when the browser is in safe mode. I have gone and disabled all of them, re-enabled some, and in regular mode I still can't see them. Also, I have tried to upgrade my Adobe Flash player numerous times in order to watch videos on YouTube but it does not work. I have uninstalled both the flash player and the browser and I am getting extremely frustrated. Please help!

hi, I've tried that, nothing happens, I tried double clicking, clicking with the right side of the mouse, still can't see it.
    anyone?
    thanks
    You're welcome.
If you tried that and it didn't work, either your software is broken or you're not doubleclicking correctly and/or in the wrong place.

  • I have truble with firefox 5 because the plugin I want to use doesn't work with 5 yet, just 4. The plugin is Firebug.

I can't use the plugin "Firebug" because it doesn't work with Firefox 5 yet. Because of that I want to download Firefox 4 instead of 5, but I can't find it anywhere. Just the third version, and 5 off course.
I'm sorry if this isn't in the correct category, just picked the one that seemed to be right...

Go buy yourself a iPhone 5. Sync your iPhone 3GS to iTunes on you computer so you have a back up ready to put on the iPhone 5. If you want you can update your iPhone 3GS with iTunes on your computer, but this is not necessary.

  • Java doesn't work in mozilla 0.9.3

    hello,
I just installed the mozilla 0.9.3 but the java plugin doesn't work. It comes with the Java2. It has the sym-link in the plugins directory but still doesn't work?? I tried looking in the mozilla website but couldn't find an answer to my question.
I also have loaded on the same machine netscape 4.78. I tried loading the JRE 1.3.1_01, but that also doesn't work. I'm sure the sym-links are in the correct places according to the Sun installation instructions......
    What is causing this???
    thank you,
    Oskar

I had the exact same problem with mozilla 0.9.3 and using the blackdown 1.3.1 java plugin on Mandrake Linux 7.2. Then I formatted my hard drive ( not because of this problem...ha ha ) and when i installed mozilla i got the plugin to work. What i did was, create the symbolic link ( as suggested in the installation instructions ), then started mozilla, then shut mozilla down, then started mozilla for a second time ( and the java plugin then showed up in the 'about plugins' page), then i viewed a web page with an applet and moziila crashed.....ha ha....and from then on it has worked perfectly.........i cant remember where i read about this bug..(sorry)...
anyway, to summarise you need to restart mozilla twice after making the symbolic link before viewing a page containing a Java applet. (i dont know whether you will have to reinstall mozilla to get this to work ?..seeing as you have already tried this once? ) Good luck ( sorry if this reply is a bit of a mess !!!)

  • PSPaletteMenu category doesn't work for automation plugins

    Hello,
I would like to have a menu item under Photoshop "Window" menu for my automation plugin.
There is a notice in the PIPL.r file that goes with SDK:
// Use PSPaletteMenu category to add a menu item on the Window (i.e., palette) menu.
// This is currently only enabled for automation plugins.
    PSPaletteMenu ="**Palette**";
However when write my PiPL res like in example below
resource 'PiPL' (ListenerResourceID, plugInName " PiPL", purgeable)
    Kind { Actions },
    Name { plugInName "..." },
    Category { "**Palette**" }, // or Category { PSPaletteMenu }
    Version { (latestActionsPlugInVersion << 16) | latestActionsPlugInSubVersion },
menu is not shown under Window menu :(
Want to note that if I specify Category { PSHelpMenu } it works correctly and menu item is shown under Help menu. PSPaletteMenu also doesn't work for Listener plugin that ships with PS SDK.
Looks like plugin is not recognized as automation plugin, but I have correct info.plist props (on MacOS X version)
What should be done to have my plugin menu item under "Window" menu?
    Regards,
    Mac Developer

Hi Tom, thanks for your reply. Actually I'm not asking about floating palette (which I actually created and there is no issues observed). I just need my automation (!) plugin entry point to be called with kPSDoIt ("Do It") selector action after menu item is chosen under Window menu. (like it works in case PSHelpMenu)
In the PIPL.r file that goes with SDK it states that
// Use PSPaletteMenu category to add a menu item on the Window (i.e., palette) menu.
// This is currently only enabled for automation plugins.
    PSPaletteMenu ="**Palette**";
    Is it documentation issue?

  • Air browser: djvu plugin doesn't work

    Hello,
I am building a custom air browser for my company using the HTML component.
It's working great in general but my company makes extensive use of the djvu technology for online image viewing.
Problem: the djvu plugin doesn't work on the air browser. After installing the last version (6.1.4) of the plugin it keeps saying it's necessary to install the plugin. (it works ok with the other browsers, also with google chrome).
Has anybody ever met a similar problem?
    thanks in advance
    marco

    Hi Marco,
unless something changed between versions documented limitations include:
    - support for only PDF plugin (version 8.1 or later) - with api to check availability at runtime if it is available on machine
    - support for Flash plugin (without external dependency)
So other plugins are not supported:

When booted from the Tiger DVD, open Disk Utility from one of the menues at the top. Check that your iMac's hard drive is healthy (don't repair permisssions, but repair disk).
Exactly when does the system freeze? Do you get to choose any install options, like archive and install? When upgrading from 10.2.8 to 10.4, you should do an Archive and Install.

  • Java 1.4.2 Plugin doesn't work on Netscape 7.1 on Linux

    Hi,
When I run the Java 1.4.2 plugin on Red Hat Linux 7.3, I get the following error when Netscape starts up:
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: No manager for initializing factory?
    System error?:: Success
After that Netscape just quits. If I remove libjavaplugin_oji.so, then Netscape starts fine but doesn't have Java. Netscape 7.1 doesn't work with Java 1.4.1_03 on Linux either.
Netscape 7.02 does work with both versions of the Java plugin on Linux. Has anyone gotten Netscape 7.1 running with Java? Does anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • [SOLVED] vfs_zip plugin for deadbeef doesn't work

    hello everybody here,
    i found vfs_zip plugin here doesn't work,
that is, i can import music files from zip archive, but i can't play them-
if i play those ones, the deadbeef'll be stuck ,even if i try play other files.
so, any solution here? any idea is appreciated, and thanks in advance:-)
    BTW:
i have installed libzip in advance, so i think it's not the cause...
and i've tried deadbeef (from repo) and deadbeef-git (from aur), but still useless, eh

It's working fine for me, I just zipped up 1GB (262 files) of MP3's to test it out for you, and it's working just fine for me after it imports them into DeaDBeeF.
Open up a terminal, and type deadbeef and when you try and play the MP3's from the zipfile does it show any type of error message in the terminal? If so, paste it here.
oh my... I found it actually can play when I tested again to see the err output... sorry to bother you for my carelessness, and thank you very much:-)
and also, the only problem is it'll take 5s~30s before start playing after click, which made me thought it couldn't work for a year or two... I should say it's much slower than rar reader(see deadbeef archive reader i packaged in aur, you can try it:-D)
I doubt if it's abnormal, so would you mind sharing with me that how's it going on on your computer? thanks in advanced:-)

  • Dynamic versioning plugin tag doesn't work for Netscape using 1.4.1_01?

ThanksI lost alot of sleep over this!
I finally got it to "seemingly" work
but by NOT using 1.4.1 attribute..
    See my HTML example

While it doesn't work with the 1.4.1
attribute it does work with Netscape

  • Photoshop CS5.1 Twain Plugin Doesn't Work

The twain plugin (for my Canon scanner) had worked in 32-bit mode in Photoshop CS5.
But the plugin doesn't work with Photoshop CS5.1. I downloaded what seems to be the latest (not sure) twain plugin from Adobe, but no help there, either.
I get this error message. But the scanner is connected (it worked from another application) and plugged in.

Yes. I installed the twain plugin for CS5.1, and opened in 32-bit mode.
Do you have a link for the most recent twain plugin, so I can see if it's the one I downloaded?
    Thanks.

  • I can not install Windows Media Player plugin when i'm using the beta version of Mozilla. Even after the installation, it doesn't work.

Windows Media Player plugin doesn't work with the beta version of Mozilla.

Make it easier. C:/Program/Mozilla Firefox (the old installation) and copy the entire folder "plugins". Now go to the path of the Firefox beta installation and paste the folder. All the old add ons will work. Bye
