Plugin Finder Service never finds Adobe Flash Player

I have tried Plugin Finder Service for Adobe Flash Player on Ubuntu-Linux & Windows, but it never finds it, and I have to manually install it.

Hello,
Flash can't be installed via the plugin finder service. The right way is to either use the standard Ubuntu apt-get and download it from the repositories or you can follow the instructions mentioned in this article [[Install the Flash plugin to view videos, animations and games]]
Hope that helps

  • I need help finding a version of Adobe Flash player to run on my PowerMac G5.  It is a Power PC, not Intel

I need a version of Adobe Flash Player to work on my PowerPC.  Adobe has not been able to help me at all.

    Hello,
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
    Download this if you haven't...
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp10.1.102.6 4_and_9.0.289.0archive.zip
Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!
    Or simpler yet...

  • Premiere Elements 11 Shared Technologies error DW020 Adobe Flash Player 10 plug in missing.

I am unable to complete the install of Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my Windows7 Pro 64 bit system.  When the installation process gets to installing Shared Technologies I get an error message "The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies.  Please restart your system and try again."  Restarting the system gives the same result again.  The download assistant program identifies two errors: DW050--Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX: Install failed, and DW020: Adobe Flash CS5.5 depends on Adobe Flash Player 10 plugin to be installed.
My system currently has Adobe Flash player 11.7.700.224 installed.  I can find a download of Adobe Flash Player 10 but where do I put it?  Do I need to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 11.7... ?  Is there another solution?

This install problem seems to be solved.  I uninstalled every Adobe program, but still couldn't get past the Shared Technologies issue.  Then I went to C://Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/ and deleted all recent folders & files.  This seemed to do it.  Both Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Elements completed installation.  Now on to figuring out how to force Windows7 64 bit to run these programs in 32 bit simulation mode.

  • How is one to safely deal with the "Update Adobe Flash Player" Pop-Up?

Good computer security practice would be to *not* click on anything in the unexpected pop-up, but instead close that window and then either:
Go to the Adobe site and download the "Update" from there -- but the site never offers "updates", it just offers downloads of the product.
Open the cited application on one's computer and use its "update" process -- but I can never find the most recent Adobe Flash Player application on my Mac.  I've used Adobe's Update process multiple times in the past and the result is multiple old versions of Adobe Flash Player scattered around, but the latest version which the Adobe Flash Player test site at URL:  http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/   says that I have is nowhere to be found.  Right now, running that test on my Mac results in the feedback:  "You have version 11,0,1,152 installed"
If one does click on the "INSTALL" button in the pop-up, is the Adobe "update" process which is to run supposed to just add another "new" version of Adobe Flash Player (in some non-intuitive place), or is it also to remove the older versions, or at least the most recent older version, of Adobe Flash Player?
Is there some predictable default location where Adobe Flash Player should be installed on Mac OS X?

The download does EXACTLY what the "update" does... it downloads the full new version (about 3.6mb) and OVERWRITES the older version.
In your Library/Application Support/Adobe folder (I forget just exactly where) the plug-in installs for your installed browsers.  The updater overwrites the files there.

  • Can we use adobe flash player Dll files in our product directly?

    Dear
We have a commercial software product, and we use Chromium Embed Framework (CEF)  as our internal browser kernel.
As we find currently,  the CEF doesn't recognize the PPAPI flash player plugin, which is downloaded from Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions
So we want to use NPAPI plugin, and take two dlls named
NPSWF64_16_0_0_257.dll  & NPSWF32_16_0_0_257.dll  into our product directly,  then user doesn't have to download the plugin from the adobe website.
Can we package these two Dlls into our product directly ?
    Thanks
    Young

    Hi Young,
Could you email me directly at [email protected]?  I'd like to learn more about your product, users, etc and can talk about licensing and distribution options.

  • Cannot upgrade adobe flash player (failed to initialize), shockwave flash does not appear as a plug in

various web sites stated that I needed to update adobe flash player. I clicked on link and followed instructions, then received the message "installation encountered errors - failed to initialize". So far, I have uninstalled previous versions of flash player and checked my plug ins. Noticed that Shockwave flash does not appear in my plug in list and adobe states that this needs to be active for their flash player.
I am on Windows XP and Firefox version 8.
    Thanks.

  • Is it correct that "Shockwave" (an Adobe plugin) is necessary for viewing YouTube etc.? If so why can we never find Previous versions for Firefox, when a BIG problem is found, as with new Adobe Flash Player 10.2 FF Plugin??

Flash Video NOT working of Facebook YouTube etc...
Adobe Flash Player 10.2 (Latest) is the problem..
installing and uninstalling Doesn't resolve the problem.
A Rollback to Earlier Version DOES work...

Adobe Flash player, previously known as Shockwave Flash is required for YouTube videos. You can get earlier versions from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

  • Can you find adobe flash player 11.5.502.55?

I have a power pc and 10.5.8 i find a discussion about a flash player on 11.5.502.55, but i couldn't find it.  Now the 10.102.64 now the flash player not working it goes 50% but never finish installation.  So i'm going to a older version on google to download the flash player 90280.  otherwise can you find it 11.5.502.55, all i find out was youtube and i needed a latest flash player.

At some point I'd posted some method for patching a Flash player so it would appear as 11.5.502... and thought to try & find it among previous discussions; and for some reason I could only go back 500 discussions. So I did not find that post.
Given the Flash player is essentially obsolete for the outdated OS X version(s) the patch is a way to allow some sites and some content to load in a browser that otherwise may not. However because it is not improved regularly, there is content that probably won't work even if you use the patch and run a later version.
The instructions are in a read-me richtext file in the patch folder; the Plugin update is included and you swap out the older plugin with a newer 11.5.xx included in the download file. It seems to do OK and my older Macs can use it. (Even my early Intel-based MacBook with Leopard 10.5.8 has a patch, since it hasn't a current Flash either.) See their 'read first' file to see what you need to do to get the patch to work. Save the old part in another folder so you could revert it. And test the Flash player version after the patch update. This does not use a regular installer; you re-use part of the existing Flash player

  • Can't find adobe flash player after installing

I have downloaded and installed the latest version (12) of Adobe Flash Player on my Windows 7 computer.  I checked the help page and it says it is installed and I see the clouds moving.  However, I cannot find the program on my computer.  I am trying to watch some movie video clips from a website and it keeps saying I have to have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player to watch it.  I have downloaded and installed it 5 times now to no avail.   I have turned off my computer and turned it back on each time.  I have Norton Internet Security but I told it to allow it when it installed.  I really want to watch the movie clips.  Where can it be and why doesn't it run?  Thanks to anyone who can help me.  (I am not really technical so please make it not too difficult if you can).

Try another browser.   Here's why I say that.
    "User-Agent Strings"
That doesn't mean a lot, I'm sure, but it's the root of your problems, and Flash Player has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11. YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play. Facebook can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess thay've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older verison of IE... Problem with that is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

I enrolled in weight watchers online only to find out that I can't access some of the tools I need because I need adobe flash player is there anything I can do. I've already paid for the service!!!!

Send a stiff email to Weight Watchers to suggest they need to remove their software videos from the FAT and BLOATED Flash container and trim down to  HTML5 in the future if they want to stay on program.
In the mean time you are going to have to employ work arrounds with your iPad.
Try the Skyfire browser app, This can convert some flash content remotely into a viewable format playable by Quicktime on your iPad.
Its not however guaranteed to work on DRM protected material and its very likely these Weight Watchers videos are so protected I am afraid to say.
Other apps such as iSwiffer attempt streaming of flash but are slowed due to band width.
You could also use a VNC type app such a Splashtop to stream direct from your PC to your IPad however sound is not guarranted to work with these apps.
Finally the most satisfactory solution at the moment plunk yourself down in front of a PC/Mac or Linux box and watch the flash their.

I just bought an I pad abd find that it is compatible with Adobe Flash Player which I need to play bridge on BBO.  Is there a solution to this problem?

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."
