Plugin Finding Service Error

Version !6, I can't believe this is still a issue, I see this problem was reported in V1.0
If you can't update the plugins then the whole browser is useless. .

We've encountered an error. Please try your request again later.

hello, you'll probably have to configure noscript correctly for the site to work (allow mozilla.org & mozilla.com), see https://support.mozilla.org/questions/755849
in case you cannot resolve it that way, launch firefox in safemode once & see if it's working there in order to rule out the influence of any extensions.

you might also want to install the search reset addon, since from the confoiguration you've provided it's apparent that the search from the address bar got changed by adware: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

  • Suddenly, I can't get the plugin scan page to open. I keep getting "Plugin Finding Service Error", no matter how many times I try, or wait. When I first opened it yesterday, it was scanning, then it disappeared and I got the error message.

I have opened the plugin scanning page many times before, and have done some updating of plugins recently, but yesterday I couldn't bring up the scan, I keep getting "Plugin Finding Service Error", which says to "try again later". I believe what I updated most recently was Flash (I think). No matter how many times I push the "try again", or shut down Firefox and the webpage, I still get the error, and get nowhere!

This problem has been occurring for the past two months. I have updated Firefox to version 3.6.16...including Flash Player to version 10.2.153.1 as instructed. I am able to click on the "Add-ons" tab and "find updates" for "Get Add-ons" and "Extensions." However, the "find updates" tab is not working for "Plugins."
I followed one of your suggestions in your "troubleshooting plugins" topic (disabling the plugins...then enabling them after a check). That didn't work either. In fact, a message box would appear saying that Firefox has "disabled Flash" instead, which of course it did not, since I was able to confirm that the Flash Player update version was still intact. Unfortunately, it appears that updating the Flash Player through Firefox is not a standalone operation. Apparently it will not work properly unless a separate update is subsequently processed through Internet Explorer as well.

  • Get Plugin Finding Service Error for weeks & weeks now - can't update plug-ins, need download .pdf doc, but says adobe unstable, plug-in needs update. now what

Want to download .pdf doc, but pop-up says it's unstable, need update plug-in. Tried to update, got error message, with "try later". Same for weeks now. Tried check for updates, Firefox is up to date, clicked update plug-ins... it tries, then again... same error message: "Plugin Finding Service Error. Please try again later".
Been so long now -- when becomes a mighty big question. Looked in forum, no joy.
Please, can someone tell me -- what's the go. I'm absolutely no good with computers, but this needs to get fixed. Should I stop using Firefox or what?
    Thanks for your help.
    Happy 2013 to all.
PS. (added a couple days later)
I'm told I should have added my next question in reply to TylerDowner here, instead of as I did. Sorry if that's so (really?) but I didn't even realize I could edit this.
So... TylerDowner, thanks very much for your reply, and please would you -- or anyone else who might be able to help -- see my first reply to you below. (seems a waste to slot in here again)
    Feelin even dumber, (ha-ha)
    raaraa

Tylerdowner -- >> thank you << for your reply, and my sincere apologies for this delayed response (probs, hospital, blah-blah, you don't want to know).
Have tried to download via that link but not sure if successful. Very slow dial-up connection is the pits. Waited hours 'n hours, fell asleep in chair even, finally had to give in and go to bed, left it going. Server does time out every 8-12 hours, so not sure how long it went. The download appeared complete -- ie, did not show any note of failure. Not sure if it would -- some things in the past haven't.
Anyway, had success downloading one much older .pdf file, but the link for one I wanted had expired, and I don't know anything else to try. Tried a couple of other links I have, not sure of age of file -- on clicking link, the browser opened, but nothing more happened.
Wondering -- is the download available in separate pieces instead of one big one? Perhaps worth trying again that way?
Please, if you would be forgiving, and persist with me a little further/longer -- would you make your recommendation/s for next step/s please?
Hope you're in a safe, comfortable place. So many places in the world suffering with extremes of all kinds.

  • I keep getting this message whenever I click on the "Find Updates" tab in Tools/Add-ons: "Plugin Finding Service Error. We've encountered an error. Please try your request again later. Retry."

I have updated Firefox to 3.6.16, and Flash Player to the new 10.2.153.1, and all the other "extensions" and "add-ons" work just fine. I can't figure out what the problem is except to say that, I have not been able to "update" the "plugins" in Firefox.
Every day I have been trying to see if there is any change, but each time the message box reads the same: "Plugin Finding Service Error...." etc, as stated in the "Question" above.

Will Mozilla ever solve this basic problem? It makes Firefox pretty much useless to many users. I guess they don't care about market share, since it's a free browser.
The only work around I've ever found is to remove and reinstall the addons.

  • For some time now I have tried to update my addons using the addon checker. I get the following message everytime I try. "Plugin Finding Service Error We've encountered an error. Please try your request again later." What can I do to fix this problem?

I am running 3.6.13. My ISP is through a satellite system. Running 64bit Windows Vista OS.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Plugin Finder Service never finds Adobe Flash Player

I have tried Plugin Finder Service for Adobe Flash Player on Ubuntu-Linux & Windows, but it never finds it, and I have to manually install it.

    Hello,
Flash can't be installed via the plugin finder service. The right way is to either use the standard Ubuntu apt-get and download it from the repositories or you can follow the instructions mentioned in this article [[Install the Flash plugin to view videos, animations and games]]
    Hope that helps

  • 'Failed to find Service' error w/ using Bluetooth to send pix FROM phone TO PC/VAIO?

Hi there everyone. This is an error I just started receiving tonight for the first time (that I can recall).
I have a bunch of photos on my 8900's memory (not on my memory card, but stored to my phone), and I'm trying to send them to my Sony VAIO via selecting the photo > Menu > Send Using Bluetooth. This has been working fine for me. I was on vacation in Cali a few days ago and had to transfer photos numerous times a day via Bluetooth from my 8900 to my VAIO, and everything was fine. Now that I'm home...I'm trying to transfer the photos I took with my BlackBerry to my VAIO the same way I always do, but I'm getting this error message: "Failed to find service". I have no clue what's going on!
This was probably a foolish move on my part but I removed my BlackBerry from my list of Bluetooth devices on my VAIO and also removed my VAIO from my list of Bluetooth devices on my BlackBerry. Frustration got the best of me and I figured a clean fresh start might fix the problem. It didn't make it worse, but I'm still encountering the same darn problem.
I've seen similar problems occur with other BlackBerry models, but older ones. Pearls, etc. Someone mentioned connecting my BlackBerry to my VAIO to update it w/ the BlackBerry update tool. I thought that was something that could be done over the air..? Or am I wrong? Problem is, I can't for the life of me seem to find that darn USB cord. (If anyone could tell me or direct me where to order a new one, that'd be great)!
ANY help or assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
Oh! And yes, I do have my Bluetooth enabled on both my BlackBerry and my VAIO.

    (edited out personal information)

    Hi!
    So...a couple of questions:
    1) On which device does the error message appear?
    2) Does the error only appear when sending from your BB?
    3) Can you successfully receive on your BB?
    4) Are you able to transfer files via the USB cord?
    Thanks.
