Plugin for emoticons in Apple Mail?

Is there a plugin for emoticons in Apple Mail?
Thanks,
HL

I also had the WOT warn me away from the website you mentioned.  This one works well on this forum, in gmail, and even in the Comcast mail program, which didn't take emoticons very well for a while.  I find it has a lot of options.

What is the easiest method to convert your Outlook Mail from MS Office 2011 for Mac, into Apple Mail?

As best I can see from googling it, there is NO easy direct way with Apple's builtin tools.  If you Google it you will find that many software companies are selling Apps specifically designed for this purpose.  Good luck.
    Hope this helps

  • Searching for keywords in Apple Mail 5.2 desktop

I can easily use the Search feature in Mail 5.2 and it will show messages with the keyword I am looking for, but I can find no way for it to display the message or to tell me what specific mailbox the message is located.  I must be overlooking something very basic, but I cannot find any specific direction either in help or in the forums.  The message I am looking for shows up in the Drop Down list under the categories People, Subjects, and Mailboxes--but no matter which area I click on no message is shown, only the criteria specific category now shows in the Search box and clicking on that produces nothing.
Again, I must be overlooking something or else there is some glitch in Mail.
I will greatly appreciate any suggestions or fixes.

Updated Information:  I created a rule in my PC Outlook 2010 which makes a copy of all my mail and puts into another folder.   As I stated above, all my sub-folders seem to be getting e-mail just fine.  So, in this case I am now getting my inbox mail too, just its in another directory.  Of course I am getting double mail, but thats ok for now.
I also had deleted all mail from my inbox from Thunderbird and re-started Apple Mail, which had no clue my mail was deleted.   I used the "Rebuild" option, and then it finally figured out the mail was deleted.   I went into the INBOX folder on the Mac and the individual files were gone now.  I now have an empty inbox folder, and no new mail coming in (inside the Apple Mail folder).
After all this, I am still not getting mail in the inbox.   This is very strange.   I thought it might be something clogging up the works, but no such luck.   Still, any help would be appreciated.    Can I truly be the only person having this problem?  At this point, it seems like I need to delete the account and re-create and see what happens.   That would make me really disappointed in Apple Mail, something I wouldnt expect.

  • Exact search for phrase in Apple Mail

I want to search in all my mail in Apple Mail for: Some phrase exactly this way
For example, I ONLY want to see emails which contain: working with Andy
I do NOT want to see any emails which contain less than ALL those words in that EXACT order.
In other words, I want to search for an exact phrase.
    How do I do this?

    With difficulty I think.
    If it's a short phrase you might be able to get close by;
    Use Boolean searches:
You can use Boolean operators such as AND, OR, and NOT. For example, to search for messages that contain “yosemite” and “yellowstone” but not “teton,” type “yosemite AND yellowstone NOT teton” or “yosemite AND yellowstone -teton.” You must type Boolean operators in uppercase.

  • Solution for color coding Apple Mail mail boxes?

Using OS 10.9.5, I would like to find an Apple or  third party solution that would allow me to color-code my mailboxes in Apple Mail version 7.3.

    * UPDATE *
If I search for text in an email I am viewing (in the Mail split screen format) the found text still remains grey.
HOWEVER, if I double click the email to open it and then search for text the found text is now in the correct colour.

  • Trying to get different column headings for folders in Apple Mail - Help!

    Hi there
I really hope someone can help here.
I have a few different email accounts coming into my Apple Mail program. For each account I am using a 'Saved' folder (for the incoming email i have read) and a 'Sent' folder (for the emails I have sent).
In my 'Saved' folder, I want my column headings to be:
    a. Who the email is from
    b. The subject line
    c. The date and time received
In my 'Sent' folder, I want my column headings to be:
    a. The address I have sent to
    b. The subject line
    c. The date and time received
The problem is that when I changed the column headings for one folder, it changes them for all of them. So I can display who my incoming emails are from, but in the sent folder, it only tells me who my sent emails are from....me!! This is no use at all. Is there anyway to apply different column headings to different folders? In Entourage this is easy, but Im at a loss of what to do in mail.
    Please help if you can
    Many thanks
    Dan

as i said, Sent mailbox is special and can have custom columns separate from other mailboxes. ALL other mailboxes have the same columns and you can only customize them simultaneously. if you want to change that leave Apple feedback on the issue

  • Yahoo account keeps asking for password on apple mail

hi im running mountain lion and my yahoo account keeps asking for my password every now and then and its getting really annoying. i enter the right password but then it will ask for it again later. its only with my yahoo account. can anyone help? thank you!

go to applications > utilities > keychain access
you may need to enter your password to unlock the lock in the left upper corner.
    under keychains select login
    under category select passwords
make sure that there are no duplicate entries for yahoo mail. If there are, delete them
if that doesn't work, delete all of the yahoo entries, and go back in mail.app > preferences and delete the yahoo account and reenter the account info from scratch.
doing keychain first aid wouldn't hurt either.
    in keychain access, do option-command-A
    verify and then repair.
    this will probably fix it.

  • How to setup sent items for IMAP in Apple Mail

I am changing my aple mail email account to an IMAP account from a POP3.
When I do this I lose my sent items. I was able to import my sent items back in, but when I try send a mail it does not register in my sent items. It shows that I did not send anything even though I did. Is there something else I need to change in my IMAP settings to get this to work correctly?

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these *folder & file* to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.

  • Block 'a' letters showing up for text in apple mail

I have been opening emails in Mail recently and see block 'A' letters instead of the text that should be there.  When I open the mail on the web on its server it shows up the way it should so I know that he has something to do with the application.  Any ideas on how to fix this? It's getting rather annoying.

I'm having the same problem now - did you find a solution? It's not showing Arial font in my mail...

  • Applescript rule for auto-archiving Apple Mail 3.0?

In Tiger, I used an Applescript rule that someone had wrote which automatically moved all incoming mail that wasn't junk, into an, 'ON MY MAC Mailbox', named 'Inbox Archive', and all sent emails into an 'ON MY MAC Mailbox' called 'Sent Archive'
This was a great way to keep my inbox clean, while always having an archive of all emails I've sent & received.
The script doesn't work in Leopard, and causes Mail to crash. Unfortunately I no longer have the author's contact info, and don't know of as easy & clean a method to keep an archive. I'm not interested in a 3rd party app. Does anyone know if Mail 3.0 has an Archive feature? Or anyone who can Applescript such a rule?
    Thanks!

Thanks TexasZeus. Unfortunately his Mail Scripts aren't Leopard ready, but the link does help expand my resources, so thank you!

  • Strikethrough shortcut for Apple Mail?

Is there a keyboard shortcut for strikethrough in Apple Mail?
Having to open fonts (CMD + T) and then pull down the strikethrough menu > Single is extremely long winded when you are trying to edit a document.
Does anyone have a simple command like CMD + B is for BOLD.
    Thanks,
    Steven

    I FOUND TWO SOLUTIONS!
TextSoap - new version #7 also allows you to striketrough text system wide.
Keyboard Maestro macro maker which a lot of people are using in replace Quickeys works too.
There is an example macro in the Macro Library, in the Text section, called Red Strikethrough that copies the text, applies red foreground, and strikethrough attribute to the clipboard, and then pastes the text.
Insert that macro from the macro library and remove the red foreground, or create it yourself:
    Type the ⌘C Keystroke
Apply Style to Clipboard: Set strikethrough to solid single.
    Type the ⌘V Keystroke
    Hope that helps.

  • Apple Mail not downloading mail

Even after the latest so called fix for Mavericks my Apple Mail still does not automatically download my email from Gmail.  I have to go through old ones and delete something to prompt the download of the new ones to begin.  Its very frustrating having all my new email on my phone but if its something I wont to view on the computer I can't as its not there waiting for me. Mail that was sent 3 hours ago has only just downloaded into Apple Mail although I have had it on my phone and iPad for all this time.  If the latest fix was meant to fix this problem why does it still exist?

Try rebuilding each of your inbox's and see of that allows the download to proceed. Select the mailbox and then from the menu select Mailbox > Rebuild. Alternatively check to see if there is a message on the server that has an unknown sender. Delete it if that is the case and try downloading again.
Try disabling either one of the accounts (temporarily) and see if it is just one of them is causing the problem. Do that via Mail Preferences. Select Account and in the Advanced tab uncheck "enable this account". The account will disappear from the viewer window but the underlying account definition and details are not deleted so to make it visible again simply check "enable this account".

  • How do I synch iPhone 4S, Apple Mail 3.6 and Gmail?

I believe this is the simplest way to phrase this:
I want everything that I do to my Gmail account, no matter where I do it (iPhone 4S, Apple Mail 3.6 on a MacBook Pro, and Gmail on the web) to synch across those three platforms.
Now on to the more complicated part and multiple questions:
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the only way for iPhone 4S, Apple Mail 3.6 and Gmail web to behave completely "in synch" is to use ONLY IMAP...and therefore, the first step I took was to DISABLE POP on Gmail web, and ENABLE IMAP on Gmail web.
Problem #1: My Apple Mail account was originally set up as POP. Therefore, I created a "second" gmail account in Apple Mail, using the same username and password, but choosing to use IMAP rather than POP. So now MAILBOXES in Apple Mail has 2 "sub inboxes" under my Inbox, which I named "Gmail Pop (for archival purposes only)" and "Gmail - IMAP." There is also "DRAFTS" (unchanged), "SENT" (unchanged), and "TRASH" with 2 "sub trash cans" - Gmail Pop and Gmail IMAP.
    * Since POP is disabled, at this point is it safe to completely delete the entire POP account from my Apple Mail? If I do that, will "Gmail Pop" disappear as a "sub inbox" and "sub trash can"? I would like to have only 1 INBOX and TRASH under MAILBOX in Apple Mail.
    * Once I am ONLY using IMAP on my MacBrook Pro, what happens when I have no wireless / internet connection (for example, when I'm out of my condo and riding on the train)? Is there any way to actually download my Inbox, Drafts, Sent and Trash folders to Apple Mail on my Mac using only IMAP - so that I have the option to work offline?
Problem #2: I figured out how to change the setting on my iPhone so that I can actually delete messages and not just archive them to "All Mail" on Gmail Web and make them disappear from the iPhone Inbox.  The issue is that on all 3 devices - iPhone 4S, Apple Mail 3.6 AND Gmail, with IMAP enabled I now have 3 "trash folders":  I'm not exactly sure where everything is going depending where it's deleted from, but I ONLY want it to go to TRASH (and not the weird [Gmail]Trash folder nor the newly created "Deleted Messages" option in Gmail Web) - regardless of how it's deleted.
    * How do I get rid of the [Gmail]Trash and Deleted Messages options across all 3 clients (iPhone, Apple Mail and Gmail web) - so that whether I'm running my thumb over the message in my Inbox and choosing "Delete" (iPhone version) / pressing the "Delete" button on my Mac (Apple Mail version) / checking the box next to the message in my inbox and then clicking the Trash icon that comes up (Gmail version) - so that no matter how I'm deleting my mail, all that happens is that it goes into just one Trash area (on all 3 clients) - so that it gets permanently deleted after 30 days....Basically, I don't want messages lingering in a bunch of different trash folders, where some are permanently deleted and some aren't - I just want 1 "centralized" trash area!
Problem #3: In Apple Mail --> Mail --> Preferences --> Mailbox Behaviors: If I want the solutions for problem #1 and problem #2 to work, which boxes should be checked?  I don't really understand why you would or would not put everything on "the server"... nor do I understand what "server" they are talking about.
Problem #4: Since I've started using IMAP on my Mac, my internet connection in general, as well as my Apple Mail, has slowed down quite a bit. Will this go away once I completely rid my computer of the POP files?
Problem #5: Doesn't it seem pretty simple that someone would want all the same things to happen to you whether you're using Gmail web, Apple Mail, or your iPhone? Why don't Google and Apple work together to make this a MUCH simpler process?

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.
