Plugin for Export Project to shake like in Final Cut Pro

Hi
Is there a plugin or a way to just move it from Final Cut Pro 6 that will let me export to shake from Final Cut Express Like in Final Cut Pro.
If i can just move it from Final Cut Pro plugin folder or something.
I have Final Cut Studio 2
my friend Has Final Cut Express And Shake 4.1

Ok so it does not change the quality of the video. And how does the send to shake work does it just add a link to the movie then when done in shake it exports to a new movie file with edits.
He decided
He will just open the movie that needs effects in Shake edit it Then export it. Then open the movie in Final Cut Express And put it all together. And Done
Thank you for you Help Tom.

No, it won't. Premiere Pro can only export an XML for FCP7 or earlier. Make a feature request if you like: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish

  • Proper Codec, Wrapper for Export From Avid to Import to Final Cut

    Hi all,
Ugh, I am sadly working in Avid these days for a new employer. Talk sbout what seems to be a never ending headache! I am currently in the process fo sharing some raw stock footage clips with another organzation in another state. My thoughts on workflow at this point are to export high quality quicktimes from Avid and dump to data DVDs for mailing.
I am exporting 1080i footage shot on an Ikegami HDS V10 which is transcoded and P2 1080i footage which is consolidated into Avid.
I started with a couple of test files exported with a quicktime wrapper and 2 different codecs:
    1Same as Source, Animation codec
    2)None codec
I have FCS3, Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 at home and tested these Avid files there this morning. FCP was unable to read either of the codecs. THe same files are easily imported and played back in Premiere Pro.
Is anyone aware of a codec download for FCP that allows it to read these Avid files? If that is the only solution I can ask the video recipient to be sure ot sintall that, and will do so myself at home. Or is the problem related ot the codec created by Avid upon consolidation/transcoding? I do have to perform a video mixdown in Avid on all my Ikegami (Long GOP Media) clips before being able to export Same As Source, Animation Codec.
    Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? THanks! ----Lindsay

Why so sad? Avid Media Composer is a great editing system.

Ah...and I guess that they don't use Avid...

You won't be able to fit large high quality exports onto DVDs. A couple minutes, max. Hard drives...you need to put footage on hard drives.
Is anyone aware of a codec download for FCP that allows it to read these Avid files?
YOu need to download and install the AVID codecs on your FCP system.

  • Hand shake correction in Final Cut Pro 10.1.1

I see that there is this option available in iMovie but was wondering whether its there in Final Cut Pro 10.1.1.  I have a number of clips that I would like to use in my project but they are rather shaky.  Is there any way to correct them within the application itself or do I have to go through iMovie first?
    Thanking you,

The standard setting for Stabilize works pretty well but there are a few options that are user selectable.

  • How can I open a project made in 2000 on Final Cut Pro to migrate it to a new version?

how can I open a project made in late 2000 on Final Cut Pro to migrate it to a new version to finish editing it? files, timeline and unfinished edit are all stored on hard drive since early 2001, with all the original miniDV tapes still in hand

Do you still have legacy FCP? If you not you need to find someone who will open the project in FCP6.0.6 or later. Export an XML file of the project. Use 7toX to convert it to an XML format that works with FCPX. Import the converted XML file to FCP.

  • How easy for a FCE user to adapt to Final Cut Pro X

    Hi Folks,
I use Final Cut Express for some years and although far from being an expert I use it relatively easy and well.
As I am planning to move to the new iMac and Mountain Lion, I wonder about usage similarilies and easiness adaptation to Final Cut Pro X?

  • Wish to save export setting of H.264 from Final Cut Pro

I am using the quicktime conversion pull-down menu in FCP to create H.264 or MPEG-4 files with certain settings for Vimeo. I wish to save my settings for export rather to avoid having to re-enter them next time. The most recent settings option is not sufficient for me as I have a couple different sets of settings. In the quicktime conversion menu I do not have the option to save my settings like I do in the export quicktime movie pulldown.
Is my solution using compressor? If so, do I then have to use APak to compress the audio?
    Thank You.

You can build custom presets in Compressor and use those.
The procedure is quite straightforward and covered in the Compressor user manual.
do I then have to use APak to compress the audio
No, you can let Compressor handle the audio too.

  • Frame combining timelapse script for Shake, Motion or Final Cut Pro?

Can anybody here write a Shake, Motion or FCP compatible script which would enable the construction of timelapse clips from low light video footage? Or does anybody know if there is a plugin that can do this?
The idea is to mimic long exposure frames by combining or averaging a given number of frames. This would reduce noise and raise gain, besides creating a timelapse effect. I have really dark night sky footage which would look great if I only could combine enough frames.
I know timelapse clips should be done from photographs, but a video application like this would be very handy for videocameras which do not have freely adjustable exposure times.
Nattress has a plugin that does something like this (http://www.nattress.com/Products/BigBox/TimeTools/GTimeLapse.htm), but the $100 price for just one effect is not worth it. Especially, when the number of combined frames is restricted to 16.
    Cheers,
    Tojotamies

But you get a LOT for that 100 bucks, not just the Timelapse plugin...

  • How to create Black aspect ratio bars like in Final Cut Pro.

I would like to know the best way to create the black aspect ratio bars the same way you can in FinalCut Pro. For example a 2.35:1 bars. Can some one assist. I dont know why this is not already a installed preset. Premeire CC is supposed to make our life easier.

It's much easier to do this within PPro itself -- just use the crop filter and either make a preset or create a new sequence and add the crop effect to an adjustment layer, then copy that layer into any subsequent sequence.
In both methods, you have to do the rudimentary math, so it's not as if you save yourself anything by going to Photoshop.
And you don't have to listen to that insufferable kid.....
BTW, the aspect ratio filter in FCP was, at least in the earlier versions, a big problem:  moving the footage around to reframe it reduced resolution in many cases.  The workaround was a garbage matte -- pretty much like the PPro method.

  • Best Quality Export of Std Def Video from Final Cut Pro to AppleTV

I get beautiful results when exporting HDV content and AIC content from FCP to Apple TV but what is the best way to handle anamorphic SD content? I'm getting pillboxing (black bars on the side) when I do it directly from FCP's timeline. Of course I could open a QT file in QT Player Pro, change the aspect ratio to classic then do an export, but that creates one more level of unwanted compression.
    Anyone?

Sure, export it as an uncompressed AVI or QT file.

  • Mavericks' iMovie won't export project to Final Cut Pro

Upon updating to Mavericks and its accompanying versions of iLife, I do not see where the option in iMovie to open a project in Final Cut Pro X is.
Likewise, attempting to import an iMovie project from Final Cut only creates a blank project with the iMovie project name and then crashes Final Cut Pro.
Is there any way to regain this feature?

If you are on iMovie 10.0.2, use FILE/SEND MOVIE TO FINAL CUT PRO. If you are not on 10.0.2, let us know what you are on.
This sends the iMovie to FCPX 10.1. If you are not on FCPX 10.1, it will not work.
I recently tried this with one of my iMovie 10 projects and it all worked perfectly. Nothing changed in Final Cut Pro X (unlike when using the previous method with iMovie '11). All clips, titles, transitions, audio tracks, edit points and so forth were intact. I was then able to add further embellishments in FCP X. It's a delight using FCP X, given its flexibility and greatly expanded feature set compared to iMovie 10.

  • Can iMovie projects be opened in Final Cut Pro?

I've been searching all over the internet and the forums here and I cannot find an answer to this question. I know that at one time, iMovie projects could be opened by Final Cut Pro. Is this still the case? If not, does anyone know what versions are compatible with each other?
I'm asking because I may be starting a documentary project soon where the director has already done some preliminary editing in iMovie (that's all she knows how to use). I'll need to transfer the project somehow into FCP to edit the project, and I just want to know how big of a headache this will be.
Any help on the subject would be majorly appreciated!

You can definitely use iMovie 08 to do a preliminary rough cut, then move the project into FCpro, and you don't need FCExpress to do it. Check out this tutorial (costs about $8) for more details, (altho most of the show is devoted to how to use iMovie):
iMovie Rough Cutting for Final Cut Pro
    http://www.rippletraining.com/imovierough_cutting_for_final_cutpro.html
    The blurb says:
"As a video professional you may think iMovie is only a tool for creating home movies, but it can be so much more! In this tutorial, we'll show you how anyone with a Mac and iMovie can generate frame-accurate cut lists that can be imported into Final Cut Pro. You'll even learn how to use iMovie in less than 7 minutes, which speaks to the incredible user-friendliness of the application.
This tutorial is available through iTunes.
In this tutorial you will learn how to:
    Defining the Problem
    iMovie Jumpstart
    Importing Footage into iMovie
    Changing the Number of Thumbnails
    Skimming a Filmstrip
    Naming a Project
Making Selections in the Events Browser
    Adding Selections to a Project
    Non-Linear Editing in iMovie
    Trimming a Shot
    Using the E Shortcut
Sharing the Project with Final Cut Pro
Importing the XML File into FCP
XML Dialogue - What it Means
    Reconnecting to Media"
I've always used iMovie (HD and earlier) for rough cutting and initial importing, then switched to FC (first Express, then Studio 2) for color correction, titles, animation, and video layers. It was a bit of a hassle before iMovie 08; had to dig into the hidden files in the iMovie project to find the actual clips, or save out a dv version. Now you simply need the Final Cut XML file and access to the original clips.
I have noticed that I need to check the "Use flattened audio from thumbnail movies" box in the iMovie sharing dialog, or else the audio needs to be rendered in FC, which, oddly, the tutorial above doesn't mention, or do. It may be that I need to do that because I use iMovie to import the footage in the first place, while the tutorial assumes you've got the clips already on a drive somewhere, and that you're working with files that other folks created elsewhere.
I also check the Reconnect to Media files box in the FC import XML dialog, which the tutorial doesn't do (they reconnect to the media files manually after the XML import; they're visible inside the iMovie project when you use FC's Reconnect Media command). But since I imported the files on the same computer that I edit on, I simply check the box.
According to David Pogue's Missing Manual for iMovie 08, you can also export out a QuickTime file using Apple Intermediate Codec, and then open this file in "any Apple video editing software," such as iMovie HD, and presumably FC. But that means a huge file, and duplicating the media. If you choose this route, be sure to check the size settings in the QUICKTIME export settings dialog, and set the audio to 48000k.

  • Can I open my final cut express projects in final cut pro X?

I need to get footage out of some of my final cut express projects and put them in final cut pro X, which I am now using. How do I do that?

You can export any movie from FCE to Quicktime, and use it in FCP X. If you export using ProRes 422 codec it will already optimized for FCP X.
What you can't do is use the FCE projects themselves in FCP X.

  • Cant export videos in Final cut pro 10

    Hey!
Whenever i try to export a movie ive done in Final cut pro nothing happens. I click ''Export movie'' and nothing happens. Then if i try to make it with Media Browser or Apple Devicesi get this error ''The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.compressor.compressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1)''.
I'm running Final cut pro x 10.0 on a mac book pro OS X.
    Help please!

    Dear FCPX users,
I had this problem a month ago, just using my newest Mac with all updated versions of my software and after skimming the net and trying everything, also this support forum and than after pulling out all of my hair, I just tried something that worked:
I made a whole new library, event and project and just copied all my 10 smaller films into a new timeline in this new event. So just copy paste from the original timelines into 10 new projects. And than it worked!
This forum explained that it probably was an corrupt project. An earlier poster had mentioned deleting some files, he thought where corrupt, that helped for him.
    Good luck everybody!
