Plugin for Solaris (Intel)

Hi,
is there or will there be a WLS 6.1 plug-in for Apache running on Solaris
for Intel?
Martin

HW of the live systems are 100% Sparc.
But for our development HW we decided, that Intel is good enough for the web
servers. We want to have it close to the live environment and we have a few
Intel boxes standing around, so why not use them?
Application servers in development also Sparc based.
We would like not to go for Linux or other stuff because otherwise we had an
additional OS.
I just have the feeling if I ask my salesperson, (s)he will tell me not
supported as you can see at:
http://www.bea.com/products/weblogic/integration/supported_platforms.shtml
Otherwise I think it can't be so difficult to compile the plug-in for Apache
not only on the Sparc plattform but also on Solaris(x86).

I suggest that you contact your salesperson directly to request this.
Support for SunOS/x86 is typically poor if existent, including from Sun.

I downloaded the one from BEA web site, but it did not work. I run Apache2.0.46

Does anyone know where I can find the apache plugin? We are testing tomove

  • SIS 6326 driver for Solaris Intel platform

Apparently those who used a SiS 6326 chip on the graphics card
cannot find a proper driver for Solaris 8 Intel.
I am having the same problem, is there any way of resolve this problem
so I can make my graphics card work at 100% or does this mean I have to get a different graphics card which is supported by Solaris 8 Intel.

Do you know if there is any other old SiS drivers for Sun? Maybe we can make it work good (at least 50% fine) using an old driver...
PS: If you can, please answer to my email: [email protected]

  • Adding 3COM 3C905C-TX for Solaris Intel

    Hi there,
    I am trying to add a 3COM 3C905C-TX card for Solaris 8/Intel.
Since it's a PCI card, do i have to specify the irq, address etc
in /platform/../elx.conf, if yes how and where do i get this
info from? i followed the other procedures in the sun doc link
provided several threads ago but ifconfig is still not recognizing
the interface. how do i know for sure if the NIC itself is installed
or not? any insights would be greatly appreciated!!!
    vinny.

First you should probably install the latest solaris 8 elxl driver patch 109867-03 / 109866-XX because this patch adds support for the 3C905C cards.
See the "Patches" link on the
    Solaris Driver Download page.
(People have also reported that the 3C905C card works without the
    patch, but you have to
add entries to certain system files).
PCI cards are self-identifying, so there's not need to add irq's
dma channels or I/O ports to
    a driver conf file.
Make sure you perform a reconfiguration boot (either by
specifying option "-r" on the boot command line or by a
"touch /reconfigure" before you reboot solaris).
The command "ifconfig elxl0 plumb" should add an interface
for the 3com network card, afterwards you can use
"ifconfig elxl0 inet 12.34.56.78", ... to configure ip addresses, etc.
If this all works OK, create a new file "/etc/hostname.elxl0" and
insert a single line with the IP-address for the 3com interface
    into that file.

  • PPP, USR56K, ISP, Setup for Solaris/Intel Please.

I am new to Solaris/Intel setup and interested in setting up PPP, usr 56k modem and local ISP. Where do I start... Thanks for any info... Dale. [email protected]

I tryied this guys setup procedure and all works except for when you actually want to connect to the internet.
Nothing happens and the only thing that happens is
pinging the dummy ip adress then just sits there.

  • Communication and Mob. availability for Solaris Intel or MacOS X Intel?

if there is , how stable it is to run this software over a compatibility layer on top of these OSs ?

I successfully connected an Intel Xserve to an EMC Clariion X600 array this past summer for testing purposes. Just make sure you get the UUID of the SAN from the System Admin of the SAN array. Similarly you'll have to give the SAN admin the UUID for your Fibre Channel interface. The UUID is like an Ethernet MAC address and allows you to see the SAN array over the Fibre Channel connection. We also had to get an SFP adapter for our Fibre Channel card as our SAN switch was all fiber optic connections.
Once we configured both ends of the Fibre Channel and the System Admin had allocated a 100GB slice to my UUID, I initially couldn't see the SAN. After about a day of delays and double-checking the SAN admin rebooted the SAN, I rebooted the Xserve and the 100GB slice magically showed up in Disk Utility as unformatted storage directly attached to the machine. I don't know if there's any trick to configuring the Clariion box. I know they made no adjustments or changes to get the Mac to work on the SAN side. The system admin of the SAN kept saying, "We've never done this before,... You have to install the drivers for the SAN,... what interface is the Mac using?...Who manufactures it?...Do they provide any drivers whatsoever for the Mac?...
Also our on-campus Mac re-seller directed me to alienRAID.org
    http://alienraid.org/
There's some entries there on hooking Apple Fibre Channel to Clariion hardware:
