Plugin Issue for Acrobat Professional 6.0

Have been using the product with a single issue. When launching pdfs from webpages, the error panel appears with the message"Acrobat Plugin Cannot find Adobe Acroba" I see no way to troubleshoot the issue. In most cases, I can paste the URL into the create PDF feature but some do not. Looking for some internal error log and or guidance.

Serial number issue for Acrobat in CS3 Web premium education edition.

Hi everybody. If anyone can help me on this issue, I would really appreciate it. So far, customer support hasn't been very useful. So here is the issue.
I bought CS3 Web Premium for my 2.16ghz macbook and it was purchased through apple. Anyway, it came with the main disc to install all the applications of cs3 and another disc to install acrobat 9. The way an education edition works is that I don't receive an actual serial number. I receive a product number which I have to enter, along with my info and proof of eligibility on this website called myidentit-e.com When this was all said and done, I received an email that contained a serial number. This serial number worked on all of the regular cs3 applications but not on acrobat 9. There was no other product code included and the directions inside the case said that I should be able to use the same serial number for both the regular cs3 and acrobat 9. Customer service's suggestion was to call apple since I bought it from them but what would they know about that? Adobe seals the products and I'm assuming that Apple is only a reseller.
Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

We've also had this problem. It looks like neither Adobe, My Identit-e nor Adobe will take responsibility for fixing this. All CS3 programs work except for Acrobat, which won't accept the serial number.
Support requests to adobe have resulted in our request simply being "closed" without any actual response from the company.
Has anyone had any luck with obtaining help from any of these companies? Any advice is appreciated.

Antispam Plugin Issue for Lotus Notes w/ Solution

Background:
We have a case open with Ironport due to some Spam issues we are currently experiencing and I wanted to use the current version of the plugin instead of the customized one our company has developed into our template.
I was trying to install the plugin but the Plugin would not appear on the Action menu. After some troubleshooting I found out why.
Issue:
We use a custom install location for the setup of the Lotus Notes Client. During the install, after selecting the correct location of the Notes.ini, the installer updated the notes.ini with the parameters to run the plug-in. But the menu actions did not appear as expected.
Solution:
After investigation, I found the dll files for this plugin were copied to the default Lotus Notes install location (C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes) instead of the "NOTESPROGRAM" directory assigned in our notes.ini. After copying the dll files to our customized install directory, the issue was resolved.
So for others who have the same issue, you know how to fix it.

Netbeans and eclipse plugin issue for OracleWaveset_8_1_1_0

I am struggling with the correct plugin for OracleWaveset_8_1_1_0. I had sun idm 8.0 and now i have upgraded it to OracleWaveset_8_1_1_0. Since I am not able to run BPE Business procedd editor which comes default IDE with sun idm, so I downloaded Netbeans 7.1 (latest version) but i am not getting correct plugin for my installed idm. i have java 6 installed in my system. can anybody help to use IDE for OracleWaveset_8_1_1_0.

Its not allowing to install this plugin....

I've been successfully using com-sun-idm-ide_9.0.0.20110309_nb6.8.nbm with NetBeans 6.8 and Waveset 8.1.0.10 for some time now.
After upgrading to 8.1.1.6, I've noticed an intermittent behavior when uploading an object from Netbeans when the progress bar cycles continuously until it s killed. Looking at the Waveset log shows 1,000s of logins in a row during this time.
Anyone else see this behavior? There have been no updates to the java.net project in almost a year, and I can't find a newer .nbm bundled with 8.1.1.0-8.1.1.6.

Mac OS X 10.7.5 Adobe license agreement issue for Acrobat Pro

Acrobat Pro keeps popping up the License agreement whenever I try to use it. Even viewing pdf documents that already exist doesn't work. I've tried all the usual fixes including the Deactivate a different program. This didn't work either. I got Acrobat Pro as part of the CS6 suite offered to academic staff via a university agreement. Can you help?

Have a PDF where some text need to be removed and replaced with other text. I do not want to alter the formating of the remaining text. and the 'text tool' does not allow me to alter it. Is Adobe by any chance resolving the z-index for Acrobat Reader Plugin?

I have a situation where a DHTML pulldown menu needs to z-index infront of an embedded PDF <object> or a PDF <Iframe>.
I have attemtpted this several different ways, which included z-indexing the DHTML menu as far to the front as possible, and adding a div tag around the <object> or <iframe> in an attempt to z-index it back -1. These did not work for the embed PDF, although it worked for the css border around that PDF.
With the exception of finding one JQUERY script online (which only resolves the Acrobat Reader z-index plugin issue for IE6), there was nothing else.
And there seems to be many people looking for answers to this problem.
It would certainly be a vaulable function, and am wondering if Adobe has attempted to add this feature in upcoming versions?

I think there is a bug in Plug-in check. It happened to me as well in the last few days. There's no newer version of Adobe Reader that I know of. Anyway, Adobe is going to release a patch next Tuesday, maybe that'll fix this bug.

How many Licenses of Acrobat Professional do I need for Adobe LC PDF Generator

At our customer site we have purchased 6 licenses of Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator and have recieved a license file with the keys for Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator and Adobe Acrobat Professional. We bought the license from a reseller of the product. We understand that the Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator is a server based software and needs 1 license per CPU. Each of our server (Dev, Val & Prod) have 2 CPU's so we have sufficient licenses (6). We are under the impression that this would suffice. How ever we are not sure on how many licenses we need for Acrobat Professional.
Here is a brief description of the way we would use Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator. We are deploying a PLM system and one of the requirement is to render Word documents to PDF so we are using PDF Generator for this capability. On our Adobe servers we will install Microsoft Word, Acrobat Professional V9 Extended and the Adobe Livecycle PDF Generator. We will have around 150 users for the PLM system being deployed. The PLM system is a Web based system which means the PLM application server will be running on a Solaris server in our case. As part of the workflows in the PLM system, at the end of the workflow process, the PLM server would trigger a request to the Adobe server to convert the word document to PDF. The Adobe server processess the request and returns the PDF file that gets generated.
Based on the above usage of the system how many licenses of Acrobat Professional do we need? We will be installing Acrobat only on the server where we install the Livecycle PDF Generator. We had a call with our purchasing person today and she cautioned us that for Adobe Acrobat Professional we might need 1 license per user of the PLM system. She has asked us to check this with the Vendor of the product. Somehow I don't think it makes sense to purchase so many Acrobat Professional licenses even though we install only once.
So can someone tell me How does the licensing for Adobe Livecycle PDF Generator work? How many Acrobat Professional licenses we actually need? Is it based on the number of users in the system that is triggering the request? Appreciate your response on this.

You really should talk to your Adobe Sales Rep about this. There are all kinds of special deals, licenses and such for customers using LiveCycle. (For instance the license for PDFG may include Acrobat licenses for certain uses).

Can I download Acrobat Professional Trial for Mac?

Is there any way to download the trial for Acrobat Professional for Mac from Adobe or have they not put it up? I've looked all over the site and on download.com and can't find it? We will be looking to buy but need to try it out first to see if it fits our requirements.

Continuing Leopard Issues with Acrobat Pro

So after patiently waiting for Leopard update and installing it, I'm still having the same Distiller crash when trying to print to PDF. Is anyone else still having problems after this update? There's little weird about the machine - MBP Intel with 10.5.1 - and I'm up to round 4 with Adobe support on this.

I was having the crash issue with Acrobat Professional 8 right after I upgraded to CS3 in 2007 and prior to loading Leopard recently. Calling Adobe did not help in fixing the problem (they just had me reinstall the software). When I upgraded to Leopard yesterday, I started making sure I had the latest updates for my CS3 suite and had to turn the updater.acroplugin plugin back on to install the updates. I was hoping the updates would have fixed the problem, but it didn't. Soon as I "unchecked" the acroplugin, Acrobat worked fine again in Leopard.

Accessibility in Acrobat Professional 8- MAC platform

I am having issues in Acrobat Professional 8 in the accessibility section. I have a document that was originally created in InDesign CS3, then exported as a PDF and opened in Acrobat Professional. After opening I go to File- Properties and set the language as English US. Then I go to the Advanced menu to Accessibility- full check and select the Name under Checking Options to be "section 508 Web-based intranet and internet information and applications (1194.22) and make sure that all the boxes are checked. Then I hit "Start Checking". A message dialog appears that says, "The checker found problems which may prevent the document from being fully accessible." I then click "Ok". It brings me back to my document. The accessibility report opens on the left hand side. Under summary it says, "The checker found problems which may prevent the document from being fully accessible.

Probably each cover page is different too. I would probably just bite the bullet and do each individually. I would create the 2 cover pages in WORD or other word processor and print to cover.pdf. Then open a PDF and Pages>Insert Pages or the cover.pdf to the front of the open PDF and save as to the current PDF. Then repeat 299 times. Each time you would make the appropriate change to the DOC file and print a new cover.pdf file (you might want to turn off open in Acrobat for this processing in the printer properties to save time). Probably a good idea to keep a list of the files to check off what has been done (you can generate a list in DOS by Start>cmd, change the directory to your location [cd path], and do "dir >>list.txt". That will give you a list to use.). There may be an easier way, but by the time you get it figured out you might be done this way.

We need the installer for Acrobat 7.0 Pro Mac

We downloaded the installers for Creative Suite 2 since the activation servers had been shut down. However, I cannot find the installer for Acrobat Professional that came with the Premium Suite.

Ok sorry it has been quite awhile since CS2 was released. If Acrobat 7 has a separate serial number then please use your original installation media. If it doesn't have a separate serial number then everything you need is contained in the install files available at the link in message #1.
Have you tried installing what you have already downloaded? What version of Mac OS are you using? Do you have a PowerPC equipped Macintosh?

Acrobat Professional 10.0 automatic registration

We have made a package for Acrobat Professional 10.0 in which the registration is automated so normally no user interaction is necessary after an remote installation. Problem is after the rollout, if the user open a PDF in a browser (IE 9) the Acrobat says that you have to register the product and the PDF does not open. If the user starts the Acrobat manually beforehand everything is fine. After that the PDF opens normally in the browser. Has anyone any idea how to prevent this behavior? Thanks in advance.

Acrobat Professional 8.1.2 wants to update every day

Every time I start up my computer (an iMac running Leopard 10.5.4), I get a message saying that there is an update available for Acrobat Professional 8.1.2 (which came with CS3). I click on "update", it appears to install in the blink of an eye, and then the next day it all happens again - why?
I have installed all the relevant patches I could find on the Adobe website.
Any ideas?

I'm afraid I'm not sure what running Updater myself means, in that I thought I was doing that when I clicked on the Instal Now button, as in previous message.
HOWEVER, on checking my Adobe Utilities folder, in Applications>Utilities, I've just realised that I have TWO versions of Adobe Updater, namely 5 and 6. On trying each successively, I've found that it was version 5 that was popping up instructing (sorry, inviting) me to upgrade to 8.1.5; version 6 just tells me "There are no updates available at this time".
Meanwhile, it had occurred to me that I had tried, some time ago, to download Adobe Reader 9, but that it hadn't worked. I just tried to do this again. It downloaded all right but, when I tried to open it, after I'd clicked on Agree (to the licence agreement) it announced that "An internal error occurred" and then crashed.
I don't know how this free (but unusable) downloaded Acrobat Reader 9 relates to my Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.1.4... or to either of my Adobe updaters.
There is no Plug-Ins folder in my Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional folder, and I can't find by name any of the plug-ins listed in Acrobat>About Adobe Plug-Ins... (I assume that these should be different from the plug-ins in the InDesign, Photoshop, Bridge etc. Plug-Ins folders.) They must be somewhere, though, as Acrobat>Preferences apparently allows me to edit settings. So I don't know if any of them are disabled or third party.
I'm afraid I'm reluctant to re-instal from the CS disk at the moment, for fear of finding myself unable to use either Photoshop or InDesign, with which I am desperate to finish a piece of work just now. (I had a problem some years ago with an Adobe re-installation and spent a very long time trying to get codes form Adobe to get started again.)
I guess I'll just have to live with the jumping ikon for the time being. Though perhaps I could throw away Updater5?
