Plugin wanted to save emails as .rtf files and automatically rename them
I've just changed from a PC to a MAC. On the PC I had a plug in for Microsoft Outlook called Message Save by Techhit for saving emails

It allowed me to quickly save emails to any folder on my hard drive as a .txt file and it automatically created a name with the date, to, from and subject fields.
Is there anything similar for Apple Mail? Doing File > Save As and renaming them myself is too slow.

Where and how can I reinstall and find those files? since there were from the applications.
I have all my applications under my hard drive root. but not in Home I cant find my templates, or parts of the programs like ADOBE.
Another thing: All my mail has stopped. I use Mail in my machine, now i cant receive any mail since it keeps telling me that the server smtp. has rejected my password. I preetty sure of what i write. i have them written in a secure place.
I NEED TO RECOVER THOSE FILES. IS THERE A WAY?

Every time I try to download the new version of Adobe Flash Player it saves as a .txt file and I do not know how to get it to save in the correct format.

I updated imovie and I used to be able to save as Quicktime file, now not an option & files are so large when I save as mpeg4 and just rename them. Please help!
Actually it is easier than I thought. It is H264 but the wrapper is m4v. You can just change that in the finder to .mov and drop it into iDVD. iMovie will send it to iTunes so just right click on it in iTunes and select reveal in finder and then copy/paste to desktop and change to .mov. Then drag into iDVD. Really easy.

I did a backup from all my files saved in old external hd to time capsule. After that double checked and recover one file from TC to mac air and it worked just perfect. Today went through TC to recover another file and none of them were there?Anybody has a clue what happened?

You can do that (see below), but how are you going to back them up? If your only copies are on the TC, when (not if) it fails, you risk losing your only copy of the data.

No, but there are some workarounds, including making a fixed-size disk image on it to "reserve" some space. See #Q3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule.
But you still won't have backups of the stuff you put there.
You don't say what kind of Mac you have. If it's a desktop model, just keep the external HD connected to it, and let Time Machine back it up along with your internal HD.
However, it sounds like you may have a laptop, where that's not going to be convenient. In that case, your best bet might be to copy the external HD to a disk image on the TC as above, then keep the HD in a safe place.
To finish, when i enter the TC and go through the Time line how can I get a file from there and move it back to Mac hd.

Since I have the newest version of itunes, I can't back up like normally. The only way is to considilate files and then put them on an external drive which I don't have. Are there any other options? If I can't back up to a disc like I used to, can I instead just keep everything on my ipod and then if I have to get a new computer or something just download all my songs from the ipod to my new computer's itunes? Will that work? Will I still be able to keep all my songs that way?
I'm going to assume the consolidating files does not work due to hard drive space limitations.
Since you're moving to Windows 7, have you tried using the Windows files and settings transfer utility? That will move everything for you to the same location on the new computer, it also allows some control over what actually gets moved.
Alternatively, if you know the location of all of the media, it can be manually moved by copying it from the old computer to the new computer in the same location.
Also, using the Apple article on moving the library, take a slight twist on what it says. Move the iTunes library to the external drive, update the settings in iTunes to reflect the library being on the external drive, then consolodate it.
The options are endless for moving the library... it simply takes a little effort to make it happen and possibly a twist on existing "standard" methods depending on your unique situation. -
I have a 1.5 hour video of a concert from which I need to extract several 'tracks' as individual files, and then join them together in a new video. How do I do this using imovie?
Adobe has made this process much simpler in recent years.
No need to re-install any version earlier than the current version (CS6). All installers (upgrade or full) contain the full program code. The difference between full and upgrade is in the serial number.
All you need do is download (link below) and install CS6, enter the CS6 upgrade serial number then enter the CS5 serial number (even if that too is an upgrade).

I want to edit an existing .rtf file from my PC on my iPod Touch. What do I have to do?
I have a new iPod Touch, and an existing .rtf file on my Windows 7 PC that I wish to edit when traveling. I want to be able to do this regardless of having an internet connection. What app(s) do I need, what file type should I convert the .rtf to, and how should I transfer it to the iPod Touch in order to do this?

Save data in a file and email the file
Dear all,
I have 2 vi files:
1. one vi file can store data into a file when it runs and stopped
2. another vi can send a file out through email when it is run.
Is it possible for me to run the first vi and stop after one hour (to store data into A file), then run the second vi file and stop (to send A file through email), and then run the first vi again immediately after running the second vi? This is because I need to send out my data saved hourly through email and get my 1st vi to continue running through out the day.
Due to the file path for my first vi and the second vi are the same, I keep getting error as below when either 1 vi is not stopped.
Error 5 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in Write Spreadsheet String.vi->Write To Spreadsheet File (DBL).vi

I tried to kill (remove) the event structure from my earlier code, but as I run it, I get the same error again- error 5.
I also tried to put time out value 200 at the timenode at the upper left of the event structure but the email part just never executed.
I searched thru the forum and found a several examples on state machine as attached. I tried the first attachment for my program but obviously I used the wrong one as you adviced. As for the other state machine examples that I downloaded, I couldn't figure out how to apply them for my case correctly. Can you advcice how can I implement state machine to get the results tat I need?... Pls gv me some clearer hints?

I want to save email addresses I enter when using other websites
I am sending emails through a website and would like to have the email addresses saved so that when I want to send an email to an address I've used before, it will auto populate for me.
Here's a little detail about the problem. I am a real estate broker. When I log into the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) with Internet Explorer, after I send an email to a client, whenever I send one thereafter, the email address auto populates for me.
When I do the exact same functions after logging into the MLS on Mozilla, it will remember addresses for that session but when I log in the next day, there are no email addresses saved.
I am using the same email provider in both cases....I think!

trena.cIf you still would like to use Ibooks you can add Collections. i.e.. work pdf's
View your collections, add a new one.
Now go to the pdf's you want to add to that collection and move them to the new collection you have just created.

I`m a beginner, so please help..
My program should output an voltage value that is read from an xl-file with one collum. The most important is that each values in the xl graph should be read per iteration. So that the file is read over time. I want to use this xl file to controll the output signal over time.
Can anyone show me how this VI would look like, and what would the xl file look like??The easiest way to do this is to save your Excel file as a comma or tab separated text file and not the native Excel format. Then you can use Read From Spreadsheet File (on the File I/O palette). Using this, you can read the file all at once and then just have a 1D array that you can wire to a while or for loop so that with each iteration of the loop, you get one element in the array. A for loop automatically indexes an input array. Reading the file all at once will be more effecient that reading the file line by line.
