Plugins disabled; awaiting revalidation

I am trying to enable an add-in called jf Zenfolio, but I have the following message:
"The plugins were disabled becuase a pirated Lightroom serial number was PREVIOUSLY used on this system.  You can use the plugins after validating your CURRENT Lightroom serial number.
I have followed the information but nothing has happen, does anybody know how to fix this issue.
Lightroom 5 has been added using Adobe Creative Cloud.

Hi there, today I was in the same situation after trying to install the flickr plugin on a Creative Cloud which the plugin didn't like because of the previous serial number.
I was able to clean the mess and put it working again without having to reformat, thats an old windows era thing! (I'm on a old macbook pro with mavericks 10.9.2 and Lightroom 5.3).
Steps I took:
0. ¡¡¡¡ BACKUP THE CATALOGUE !!!!!!   (just in case, don't blame me if you broke things)
1. Uninstall Lightroom using an app like Trashme which locates every associated file. If it can't delete a file, do it by hand.
2. Move o manually delete (need to be admin, be careful) old and current registration folders at /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom (I think that this alone should do the trick but I'm not sure).
3. Also deleted /Users/<your user>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/OOBE just to be sure, there were some Lightroom icons and OOBE was the thing to mess with when activating XP, ¿remember?
For reference, also deleted other files, but don't think they're related to activation. Just in case:
/private/var/db/receipts/com.adobe.Lightroom*
/Library/Logs/Adobe/*
Also followed advice here and deleted some of the folders listed:
http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lightroom-41.html#main_File_ locations_in_Mac_OS_X_
Sorry, now I don't know which one does the trick, didn't do it one at a time.
Hope it helps.

This seems to be the right forum for this question, so I'll ask it here.Whenever I want to send a report I view in InfoView to another email address, I get a "The destination plugin required for this action is disabled. If you
require this functionality, please contact your system administrator." error message. Where do I find this plugin? Thanks,Robert

This setting is in the Central Management Console.  To enable it for different circumstances you want to go to the Destinations tab under the following servers for Crystal Reports: destinationserver and reportjobserver.

  • Feature Request: a way to retrieve accurate plugin disable/enable state

As it stands, LrEnablePlugin file is executed when plugin goes from disabled to enabled, and LrDisablePlugin is executed when plugin goes from enabled to disabled. Unfortunately its really hard to glean useful information because:
plugin will go from enabled to disabled then back to enabled when new metadata is added and such stuff, and there is no way to tell whether plugin is enabled or disabled after a reload, since neither module is executed unless there is a change.
It would be useful to me to be able to simply read an accurate status: enabled or disabled.
Also, if Lr needs to disable for a moment to add metadata, I'd rather have the state not reflect the temporary disablement, unless reenabling fails and it becomes permanently disabled, or better still, have it reflect the temporary-ness of the disabled state, so maybe these states:
    disabled permanently
disabled temporarily (e.g. to add metadata)
    enabled permanently
enabled temporarily - for case when user attempts to enable but catalog neds updating, in which case if update fails it will be re-disabled.
If this is too much, at least a minimal improvement could be had by simply having LrEnablePlugin and LrDisablePlugin not be called when Lightroom disables/enables for the sake of metadata / catalog updating, so they're only called when user clicks the buttons. This would not be as useful as accurate live status, but at least would eliminate disable / enable actions that assume the user did something he/she did not...

    HI Matt,
    Sorry - it was late...
Anyway, I think you've got the jest of it. To help clarify further:
There are two issues with the way things are enable/disable-wise:
    1.  there is no way for a plugin to tell if it is enabled or disabled.
Here's a cut from the framework:
--- Determine if plugin is enabled.
--  @usage      Note: do not depend on this reporting correctly, since default value for 'enabled' is true
--              even when plugin is disabled. Its only correct after plugin goes from enabled to disabled or vice versa after init...
    function App:isPluginEnabled()
        local ena = rawget( _G, 'enabled' )
assert( ena ~= nil, "no ena" )
        return ena
    end
    2. The enabled / disabled modules are executed upon temporary disablement / reenablement as well as the more permanent flavor, so they cant really be used to prompt the user, or multiple confusing prompts get issued when the state is bouncing around...
As usual, I'd like to see this improved in the next version, but I'm also open to suggestions for working around it in the mean time...
PS - I just thought of a work-around for the first issue (which primarily arises in plugins that access plugin metadata) - just try and get a known-to-be-defined metadata item - iff successful, then the plugin is enabled.
    So, a possible solution:
    1. Have a readable (and preferrably writable too) enable/disable state that accurately reflects right-now enable / disable state - even if temporary.
    2. The ability to determine root cause of disablement, e.g. "temp-for-catalog-update", "permanent-since-catalog-update-failed", "user-initiated", ... I can imagine root cause for enablement to be useful too...
    *** UPDATE: Modified method:
--- Determine if metadata-supporting plugin is enabled.
--  @param      name (string, default dummy_) name of alternative plugin metadata item (property) to be used.
--  @param      photo (lr-photo, default 1st photo of all) photo to use to check.
--  @usage      This method presently only works when a metadata item is defined. Maybe one day it will also work even with no plugin metadata defined.
--  @usage      Only works from an async task.
--  @return     enabled (boolean) true iff enabled. Throws error if not called from async task.
    function App:isPluginEnabled( name, photo )
        assert( catalog, "No catalog." )
name = name or 'dummy_' -- cant start with underscore.
        photo = photo or catalog:getAllPhotos()[1] -- getting all-photos takes ~16msec.
        assert( photo, "No photo." )
local _dummy, msg = photo:getPropertyForPlugin( _PLUGIN, name, nil, true ) -- nil version, no-throw.
if msg == nil then -- msg is nil if property defined and plugin enabled, even if property value is nil.
            return true
        else
            return false, msg
        end
        --local ena = rawget( _G, 'enabled' )
--assert( ena ~= nil, "no ena" )
        --return ena
    end

hello, the is no straightforward way - the easiest & safest solution would be to update the plugin. in case this is relating to flash - the latest version of flash 10.3 can be downloaded from: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

  • Tired of getting plugin disables every few days when there's an update

    Not a question... A comment.
I, for one, am getting tired of having plugins that I use A LOT and depend on, suddenly disabled every few days when Firefox updates itself. Maybe YOU think that's "progress"...When I keep adding substitute add-ons to replace ones that suddenly don't work, and then a few days later those get disabled too, it makes me wonder if Firefox is a good long-term browser choice. If I were a plugin developer I would be ticked-off beyond belief, and after awhile I'd probably stop developing for Firefox.
Congratulations on a path that will surely make you obsolete sooner rather than later.

The list of plugins (which is rather long) was submitted with the crash report.
My attitude is based on the reality of the frustration of the plugins I use the most being continually disabled by the never-ending parade of upgrades. It is what it is.

  • Firefox hangs at random times, even with all plugins disabled.

I get a white screen with the Windows circle that indicates Firefox is busy. On the bottome left, it says "waiting for XXX," where XXX is a hostname, usually some kind of ads server. Then it says Firefox stopped responding.

First, try to reset Firefox. [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]. This simple step will eliminate many Firefox problems with only one click.
After this, Update to Firefox 14. [[Update Firefox to the latest version]]
A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.
Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Update all your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): [http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/].
Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

  • I am running Mac OS 10.6.8 and my Quicktime plugin (7.6.6) works completely in Safari, with help in Chrome and not at all in FireFox, even with all other plugins disabled.

Firefox will play QT movies from the Apple Trailers site and up until maybe two months ago, played QT movies and MP3 files from my personal site. I can't hear the MP3 file that auto-loads at:
    www.garysillmusic.com
    With other browsers:
Chrome asks for permission to use the QT plugin for each site.
    Safari works fine.
I uninstalled/re-installed FireFox and found that the QT plugin worked the first time it came to a page with recognizable media but never after that. Not after reloading or even after shutting down the computer and re-opening FireFox.

  • FF17.0.1, Java 7 U9 outdated message. Removed/re-installed.Picked up 10 & tool kit. OS Win7SP1 64 bit. FF keeps crashing. Plugin Disabled OK

FF 17 initial crash prior to update with Shockwave Flash 11.5.502.135 which RESOLVED.
Then Java 7 U9 began crashing. Bios updated, All Software/Hardware updated as well. Installed U10 from Oracle and still crashing. Got rid of U10 and went back to U9.
At least it's not crashing every 3-5 minutes as U9 did before. Do not want to stay in safe mode forever. HELP....I'm missing something? Where I'm at now with Add-ons Manager stating U9 outdated....plus many other Plugins are listed as "unknown":
    Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U9
Next Generation Java Plug-in 10.9.2 for Mozilla browsers Outdated Version Update
    Plugin Icon
    Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.90.5
NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy Outdated Version Update
Since this began happening, the following plugins became unknown and suggested "research".
    Microsoft Office 2010

    Windows Live™ Photo Gallery

    Intel® Identity Protection Technology
Intel web components updater - Installs and updates the Intel web components Unknown plugin Research
    Plugin Icon
    Google Update
    Google Update Unknown plugin

Resolved.....Java is green on Add-ons Manager. I pulled up the Java Control Panel and clicked on UP-Date. Damn if it didn't do it beautiful and now tool kit is gone and this is what the plugin profile shows with only ONE ENTRY NOW:
    Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U10
Next Generation Java Plug-in 10.10.2 for Mozilla browsers 1.7.0.10 Up to Date.
What I learned --- Do not use update from Oracle, regardless if U9 completely removed.
Let the "Java Control Panel" on your computer do the work.
Can't wait to see if my "crash days" are over!
I'm not out of the woods yet. Profile page still shows GREY---Plugins UNKNOWN and RESEARCH for the following:
MS Office, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Simple Pass, Intel ID Protection Tech., and Google Update

  • [fixed] Gedit plugins disable when I try to enable

I installed the gedit-plugins. However, when I try to enable one of the plugins it automaticly just shades out and I can't click it anymore.
    It's like this
I just recently reinstalled my arch installation, and it's been a while since I installed this package. This time however, I decided to take a much more strict approach, so I have not installed a lot of "extra" stuff, like gnome-extra. Personally I think I am just missing some package, not sure though.
    Edit:
I started gedit using a terminal and tried to enable it, got this error.
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/lib/gedit-2/plugins/terminal.py", line 29, in <module>
    import gconf
    ImportError: No module named gconf
** (gedit:7236): WARNING **: Cannot load Python plugin 'Embedded Terminal' since file 'terminal' cannot be read.
** (gedit:7236): WARNING **: Error activating plugin 'Embedded Terminal'
I actually had not installed gconf, but even after I installed it, same error.
FIXED: All I had to to was install gnome-python

  • A persistent plugin disables menu icon (Photoshop CS4)

I'm working on a plugin which ideally should be called when active document changed. I'm assuming I need the plugin being running persistently, so I try to modify a sample plugin, listener. (Correct me if I'm wrong here)
Werid thing happens with Photoshop, when I have the listener plugin copied to folder Plug-ins\Automate. Some icons in the menu bar turn to blank when mouse is focusing them. Especially, when I choose "Arrange Documents", the list of arrangement options are blank. I can see the icons are there, but without image.

Ah, in that case ;) Well, you have created an icon with a resolution
and/or colour depth that ZEN4 cannot handle. More recent versions, such
as 6.5 and 7 are better at this.
Your file is 32x32 by 16,7 million colours. I suggest you try

  • FCP - Audio Plugin Disable

At the startup, FCP scans for plugins (which for me include some UAD plugins), this slows things down quite a lot and some of the plugins fail because they are for another card and not authorized.
So.... is there a way to make FCP not scan for these plugins?

If the errant plugins could be added to a user's library instead of a system library (you can do this with fonts I know for sure), you could set up a user account that accesses these from it's library when you need them, and another user account that doesn't have these. i.e. keep what works in the System library, and keep what doesn't in a separate user account's library.

  • SCCM 2012 - Distributing Flash 16 Active X & Plugin - Disables Play sound in Webpages

    Hello,
We use MS SCCM 2012 R2 to distribute applications and some updates.
We have created the necessary packages to distribute adobe flash 16 active X & plugin.
Our end user environment consists of Win7 64bit, with a range of IE 9,10,11.  Mostly 9 then 11 and a few 10s
A test deployment to approx 20 users told us that in about 33-50% of the time an IE setting was modified.
This setting is found at Internet Options, Advanced, Settings, (Scroll down) to Multimedia.  Setting "Play sounds in webpages"
Is there a way to prevent this change from happening?

Anyone?  I am attempting to reach adobe support via phone...  Seems adobe doesn't like to be called for flash.

  • Why is MetaStream 3 Plugin "disabled for your protection"? And what can be done to allow flash content?

    Flash content does not play.

You need the Adobe Flash plugin to play flash, not MetaStream.
To install it, using Firefox download the Flash setup file (install-flash_player.exe) from [http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer], then close Firefox and run the Adobe Flash setup file to install Flash.

  • Firefox (and thunderbird) crashing repeatedly. Tried in safe mode, all plugins disabled, hardware accelration is off.

    64bit windows 7 home premium
    Ran memcheck, no errors
Funnily enough, I run VMWare Workstation 9 and Firefox also crashes in WIndows XP in there.
Wondering if it has to do with the ASUS drivers. I have updated the drivers to the latest version, but the problem is still there. To be fair, It also happens wih Chrome and IE.. This is why I am suspecting a driver issue.
Report ID is bp-22a550bd-1374-4702-abda-4598d2130328 (I have lots)

I am willing to do this but the crashes happen at random. During some days, none will happen; other days I will get several
