Plugins Won't Play on Youtube!!!

I've been having lot's of trouble with third party plugins. When I export them, they play fine EXCEPT when they are uploaded to youtube. They tend to only play over wifi (specifically the blink filter). I usually export in 720p and as h264.  Any suggestions?

Please be more precise as to what happens when you try to watch a YouTube video.

• IFlip video files used in iMovie won't play on Youtube

We used some minidv video and some iFlip video clips in an iMovie project. When the project was uploaded to youtube, the iFlip (avi files) do not play. Anyone have a solution?

I too have this problem, includes when i add cutaways - the original video freezes and the cutaway never comes up.

• Black and white version won't play on YouTube...

I have a project for which a color version (encoded H.264) plays perfectly on You Tube.  I have encoded a version in Black & White and uploaded it (H.264 again).  The file plays perfectly on my PC (so let's assume I have not uploaded scrap...)
All I get once on YouTube is a corrupted video (can't see anything while video is running. Audio is OK though).
I uploaded it a second time, in case it might have corrupted during upload : same result.
If this can add for an explanation :
1) Original project is done under Premiere CS3, exported (H264 codec) via AME CS3.  This version is ok on You Tube.
2) I have then reimported the resulting file (in QT format) as a new project in Premiere CS4.  Made the edit to get in B&W.  Then exported that project using AME CS4. Here, the resulting QT video has about the same size as the original output under CS3, and it plays correctly on my PC. It is once on You Tube that it becomes unreadable.
Any idea ?
Thanks,
Rob

I have then reimported the resulting file (in QT format)
Don't do that.  Never use a compressed delivery file as source for further editing.  Go back to the original project and work with the original media.

• Totem Mozilla plugin won't play *anything*

... and I really mean it. Totem (yes, the GStreamer version) plays WMV, but the plugin doesn't. It doesn't give me an "unsupported format" message like it ought to; it just gives me a black space, and I can't even access the options menu by right-clicking on that space (I should be able to). Firefox registers the plugins presence according to about:plugins, but otherwise, it's as if the plugin doesn't exist. Am I missing something? Do I have to have the MDNS daemon running or something?

Okay, here's a screenshot of what *should* be a streaming movie:
All text and images have been selected to make it easier to see. That black rectangle is where the movie ought to be playing. Right-clicking on it did not bring up the Totem plugin's menu, and I got no message about Totem having trouble with the stream; it's as if the plugin isn't there.
Now, to show you the plugin exists:
[proteus@localhost ~]$ slocate libtotem_mozilla
/opt/mozilla-plugins/libtotem_mozilla.xpt
/opt/mozilla-plugins/libtotem_mozilla.so
/opt/mozilla-plugins/libtotem_mozilla.a
And here's about:plugins:
The info on the Totem plugin is circled.
As you can see, the plugin is there... It just might as well not be. :? Any help?

• V27, 27.1, won't play some YouTube videos. Even in safemode

I have trouble viewing videos on my default browser, latest Firefox v 27. I think I am not alone in this.
I do have the latest versions of Flash Player, Real Player, and Javascript is enabled (not java)
I first found it in videos from my favourite cats site (cheezeburger..) but I have just found it happens with videos from Serif Community Plus. Videos accessed via FP work, even when referred to YouTube (Clicked)
Videos direct from YouTube work, but not videos from YouTube accessed via cheezburger links.
These faults happen only in Firefox 27, and videos play OK in Maxthon 3, (Chrome and Opera - last time I checked.) I know you recommend against this but can you tell exactly how to reload the previous version of Firefox, V26 - I had no trouble with that.
I have tried running FF27 in safe mode, no effect. I do not want to lose the various add ins I use, so I do not want to reset to factory settings.

But before you back previous version try solve the problem, here on SUMO there are many colaborators to help you!

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*Windows:
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Installing Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
Please report back to see if this helped you!

• Quicktime plugin won't play videos in firefox

Every time I go to a page the has a quicktime video on it, I can't get the video to play. It loads up with the quicktime logo and a question mark superimposed on top. I have quicktime installed and have gone into the settings, telling it to play god and everything. Still, I can't get the videos to play.

Your "direct link" code doesn't give any instructions to any browser plug-in. Without instructions each different page visitor will get different behavior. Some visitors settings would download the file and others would play the file using a different browser plug-in (Real Player or WMP for example).

• Youtube won't play videos on Safari

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and Safari won't play any youtube videos on youtube. However on some other sites linked videos will play. I've tried (multiple times) to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Flash Player to no avail. Any other solutions?

Hi ...
If you have ClickToFlash installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. The plugin is located in:   /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
Empty the Safari cache more often. From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Quit then relaunch Safari, try a video.

• How do I fix? Flash videos like YouTube won't play sound on MAC OSX 10.5.8

Sound won't play on YouTube and other flash web based videos on my MAC OSX 10.5.8 So I installed the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player and it still doesn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled adobe flash player. Nada. I updated my computer software and firmware. Still nothing. I checked my sound and apple movie trailers play just fine.  Please assist.
Thanks so much!!!!
Oh, I have tried to play videos in both Safari and Firefox. No sound in both.

Yay!!!! My business partner @goodbadtech (on twitter) fixed it.  Apple repair fixed it. Just got it back this morning. Then I updated Adobe flash as Mozilla asked me to do and the sounds disappeared again! Was so frustrated.  But Spencer found this link and that saved the day :-)

• Videos won't play after upgrading to ios7.1

Everything worked fine under ios7.0.4 and previous ios versions but videos won't play on YouTube or Facebook since upgrading to ios7.1. This is true for my ipad 4 and my wife's iPad mini. I have tried resets and reboots but did not help. May try to reinstall 7.0.4 unless someone has other ideas. All help appreciated.

You won't be able to install 7.0.4.
I have no problems playing YouTube videos on my iPad 4 or iPhone 5 using iOS 7.1.

• Have reset Firefox & completed all of steps in "Flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites", but video still won't work. Help!

I have reset Firefox, completed all the steps in "flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites". And the video still won't play in full screen. It will play, but frequently stops or sound continues and picture freezes. I have noticed that if I continually move my mouse, it plays fine. All these videos play fine in IE and Chrome.

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
# Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/> <br/>
# Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
# Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
# Restart Firefox.
This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

• Most movies won't play save for youtube and a few others

On Facebook and a lot of website, videos won't play, I just get a black screen when I click on the videos. Youtube is one of the few exceptions, I'd say 1 in 10 website don't work, videos uploaded directly on Facebook for exemple never work.
I though it might be my noscript, or adsblock but I tried every solutions on your support and various forums, didn't change a thing. (e.g. running in safe mode, deleting them, deleting Firefox and re-installing it) So it doens't seem to be an addon problem, unless it install something to deep in my PC for me to remove(the videos did work for a while on Firefox but I don't remember what could have triggered the change).
Then I thought it could be linked to an update to my graphic card but I really have no idea how to test that hypothesis.
I'm wondering if it could be because my computer is an ASUS? I had the same thing happens to me on my previous ASUS computer, it fixed itself when I reinstalled Windows, though when I re-installed it, I didn't have any of the Asus crap that comes with a new computer.
Is there anything you might know that is in conflict with Firefox on a PC that cause this problem?
I don't want to go to Chrome.

I did that, I had two version running, though it didn't change anything that I noticed. I still have the same issue.
I know what you meant with the small lego icon, it's not what's happening, I have a simple black screen as if the video was about to start, it just never do - I don't have a loading issue either.
Addtionnal info, I noticed I have two Shockwave in my plugins - no idea if it's related
I also found out I can't remove the hardware acceleration in Flash. Whenever I right click on a flash thing and uncheck the box, as soon as I close the small window, the box has back being checked.
Among other things I tried is in the about:config, the dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode line, I've set it to TRUE.
I've included 2 images, one of the folder you mentionned, the other is what I get when I click on a cellphone uploaded video. It's not much of a picture, it's only a black screen as I said but just in case it can rule out some stuff.

• I know it's a little late but I recently updated my iPod touch 4th gen to iOS 6 and now it won't play my music. It will play spotify and YouTube music but not my music. Everything else works fine but when I go to play a song it just skips to the next. Why

I know it's a tad late, but I recently updated my iPod touch 4th gen to iOS 6 and now it won't play any of my music. It will play Spotify and YouTube just fine, but it won't play my music. It will just skip to the next a d the next and the next after a second or two without any sound. Please help! Thank you.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

• I have windows 8.1 and firefox won't play youtube videos but IE will

I have windows 8.1 and firefox won't play youtube videos but IE will. I have tried reinstalling firefox, flash, java. Resetting firefox don't help, disabled hardware acceleration, protected mode 0 in the mms.cfg file. Nothing will play on youtube in firefox. It says "an error has occured, please try again later". The ads play fine though. Everything plays fine in IE. I have tried different versions of flash also with no luck. I even restored the system to a previous iso image with no luck. Does anyone have a solution?

It maybe because your javascript is disabled .
You can check the javascript.enabled pref on the about:config page.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
There are also extensions that can block JavaScript or otherwise interfere.
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Or,
"Clear the Cache":
Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
