Plus/minus collapsers in TOC

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can make me feel like a dummy by telling me
what happens to the plus/minus collapsers in the TOC for WebHelp
(and FlashHelp just for kicks). When I generate, it is just the
icons. Now in CHM, the plus/minus are fine once the "line" checkbox
is enabled. But for WebHelp, there's no dialog like that to check.
Please help! Thanks!

Plus/minus icon for TOC books

Afternoon all,
So I see that in RH8, I can create a TOC. When in the RH8 application, the TOC Pod shows +/- or expand/contract icons to the left of each TOC book, with little dashed lines to each book/page.
But when I generate WebHelp, no such +/- icons appear.
Am I missing something? Or is the +/- just a feature of the TOC within RH8? I'd like them to display in my WebHelp output like they do in CHMs. I don't necessarily need the dashed lines.
Any clue you can bat my way...

Plus/Minus Squares in .chm file

Hi Everyone...
Two questions, thanks in advance for the help. FYI: Using RoboHelp HTML, ver 8 with a project that has multiple folders and topics; also using it in a shared environment with multiple users, using RoboSource for version control.
1. Any ideas as to how I can enable the "Plus/Minus Squares" option in HTML Help - Advanced Settings? I want to generate a .chm file that has the plus and minus signs next to the book icons. I found the settings in the HTML Help Options - Microsoft HTML Help but they're grayed out. Trying to figure out how I can enable them so I can generate the .chm with the signs in help file output.
2. I have two topics that "disappear" everytime I go out of RoboHelp and come back in. I need to import them each time I open the project. I can see them in RoboSource. I can't find any way to unhide them -- I swear there was a way to just "unhide" them from RoboSource that I've used in the past but can't remember how I did it (senior moment, that won't end....).

I'm not sure exactly why, but this goes back to the eHelp days. In their infinite wisdom, the developers decided that you would never ever want Plus Minus Squares unless you FIRST wanted Lines From Root!
So enable the Lines From Root and the Plus Minus squares should become enabled.
On the topics you don't see, I'm wondering if at some point you saw a message about files being outside the project and therefore not being shown in RoboHelp. If so, there was a dialog with a check box you could select that says "Don't show me this again". And sure enough, you aren't seeing the message that alerts you there are missing files.

JTree not showing plus/minus signs

Hi,
I'm having a strange problem with JTree when implementing my own DefaultTreeCellRenderer: the renderer is shown correctly, but the plus and minus signs are gone!
My getTreeCellRendererComponent implementation actually creates a new JPanel and returns it instead of the default one. Can that be the problem? How can I make these plus/minus signs come back?

I have seen something a little different on my CustomCellRenderer where the plus minus sign is replaced with some default arrow icon and where it comes from I have no clue. I basically have a 3 level deep tree and its at the B level where this icon appears.

For the life of me I can't figure this one out. I have tried all ideas like set all the renderer icons or the LAF properties icons and still this blue arrow appears. Any ideas would help on both mine and the original poster.

Opensource ATI can't switch video modes with CTRL+ALT+plus/minus

Hi,
I've updated my system to the new xorg-server and video driver.
The new video driver (xf86-video-ati-6.7.195-1) can't switch video modes with the CTRL+ALT+plus/minus key combination. I use this key combination a lot and before I upgraded to the new driver this worked :-(
Anybody else having this problem?
I know I can use xrandr to change the video mode, but it doesn't exactly do what I want. Xrandr changes the video mode, but also changes the resolution of the screen, while CTRL+ALT+plus/minus keeps the resolution intact (the screensize is bigger than what is seen on the monitor, you can scroll the screen by moving the mouse "out" of the monitor)
Is there a fix/patch that I can try?

It looks like this is the result of the new opensource ati drivers use the new xrandr.
One of the changes is that it will treat the screen section in xorg.conf differently. Browsing through video modes, using the CTRL+ALT+plus/minus key combination, that are defined in the screen section in xorg.conf is not possible anymore.

Incorrect plus/minus sign in MB51

Hi All,
In MB51 report we are getting an incorrect minus sign in the display. When I run the report for mvt type 102 the quantities are displayed in RED color but the minus sign after it is missing. The sustem is considering it as plus.
What could be the problem?

if you cant find any that fits to your system, then open an incident at SAP yourself

Plus/minus key no longer increments midi program selection?

Hi guys,
New to Logic X and discovered a weird thing. One of my common operations when selecting sounds is to use the plus/minus keys on the numeric keyboard to increment or decrement through the programs on attached midi external instruments. Been doing it since Logic 2.5. (Yeah, I'm that old!)
Seems this fundamental bit of navigation doesn't work, or is hidden in Logic Pro X.
Any ideas?

OK, so your preference files are not corrupted. Must be a key commands problem then. Try switching to a different key commands preset in the Key Commands window. You could also try reassigning those commands to something else (other than +/-) and see what happens.

Plus & minus keys not available in address panel

I just started using Mac mail and was able to add new addresses to the address panel, but lately the plus and minus signs are not available in the address panel window. How do I get them back? Thanks.

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
What address panel? In Mail you can add the address of a sender of and email via a command, but to otherwise add an address in the Addressbook, you must open the separate Addressbook application. The panel of AB reached from within Mail only support getting an address that is already in the AB.

AE lost my control plus, minus and reduce in Top RH corner? Tech Help!

Hi all,
I have a strange thing going on. I could swear there used to be the standard Browser control of - + and reduce box in the Top RH corner like in any window and every other adobe product. However, I got a virus it was hiding in Adobe reader. I believe I cleaned it as I scanned with two different virus companies. Both came up nothing found. Cleared my Temp folder, dumped trash after un installing AE. Re installed AE and still no window control?
Plus in my system start tray where my programs are where Adobe Master Collection Folder is I open that an my AE icon is a generic icon, although it will work as a shortcut.
The other thing is that it is evident in my task bar as a 'pinned icon' Here is a screen shot of AE with no + or - in top corner...

I also lost Adobe Reader as I had to uninstall as that was the Trojan file home. I stuck the disc in but did not see the icon to re-install.

Mylenium Not sure what you are referring to? Is that for the 2nd part of my question for Reader? I tried you command of Cntrl & # it went from one panel to the other in AE..
Now if I could get my Obsessive Compulsive disorder to settle down about the dead icon in my Program file under start bar. I will follow the link for the cleaner tool...

EDIT: OCD handled. Restart Computer after reinstall to place icons globally, within my Workstation.

Why when I preordered the new Iphone was the tax estimated at plus minus $55 it sould have been about $18. I was told it was based on the full $649 value of the phone, but that's not right. Sales tax is on the purchase price.

Why when I recently preordered the new $199 I phone was the sales tax estimated at +- $55? It should have been +- $18. The supervisor said the tax was on the $649 value, but that's not right as sales tax is charged on the sales amount. What is this charge for?

Complain to your elected officials, they're the one's that write the tax code. I know that in CA and RI, sales tax is collected on the unbundled price(full) of not just the iPhone, but any cell phone.

Left shift key inserts ± (plus/minus symbol)

When I try to use the left shift key and hold it down for more than a half-second or so it will insert the ± symbol. Not being the speediest of typists, this has rendered the key useless (besides being a shortcut for that symbol, of course). This occurs in all profiles.
I am using a Macally ICEKey keyboard with the latest drivers. The behavior occurs when I set the keyboard to the "unknown generic keyboard" option, as well. I tried uninstalling the drivers and trashing the com.apple.keyboardtype.plist file, but the problem continued to occur after it went through the generic keyboard setup on reboot. I should also mention that the keyboard worked fine for a few months before this problem arose.
The only other USB keyboard I have is a generic Dell keyboard (that does work with a Windows box), but when I plugged it in after removing the Macally it was not recognized by my Mac, even after reboot.
Besides trying another keyboard that is confirmed to work with Snow Leopard, are there any settings I should change (the language and character settings are default English with an ANSI keyboard layout) or other diagnostics I could try?

I have a Macally keyboard (NetKey) and I know that Macally hasn't issued drivers or updates for Intel Macs for some time; I checked on their download page for your model and the latest driver is for "10.4 or above" (which means it's been there for quite a while), which may also mean that it may or may not work with Snow Leopard. I know the driver for mine does not work on SL and I've lost all the cool functions on it (media keys, etc), but I still like the keyboard. My iMac also recognizes the keyboard immediately without any drivers installed.
As for your question, have you looked in the Keyboard pane of System Preferences to see if for some reason that key has been assigned a special function?
And, as far as I know, just about any keyboard - especially USB - should work with SL as long as you don't plan to install any drivers that happen to be for Windows only for any special function keys or features. I don't know why the Dell wouldn't be recognized unless it is made to function only after some software (driver) install (which wouldn't be compatible with SL).

Add [+] plus [-] minus to collapsible tab

I think this is an easy one, but I have searched high and low to find out how to accomplish this task .
I want to add a small [+] symbol to the collapsable panel tab to give a visual aid showing the tab can be clicked to expand it. Then, (and this is the bit that requires the code) once expanded, the symbol should change to a [-] to close the collapsible panel. Other than the symbol, there will be some title text.
You've seen and used it everywhere these days, but I don't know how to add it to my css or js.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
There must be a resource out there, maybe I'm just using the wrong search criteria when looking. You don't want to know the permutations I've tried on Google and on here.

However, I had since found some information on this and made my css as follows. Instead of using padding, I used text-intent. I also put most of the code in the CollapsiblePanelTab to save duplicating. Does that follow standards?

Master page INDEX and TOC

In master page, I have used HTML HELP CONTROL and inserted index and toc. I am facing two problems basically,
1. IN INDEX, I want to remove the default heading i.e., "Type in the keyword to find:" and change the display button with a custom image..
2. In TOC I have add custom plus and minus icon, but when compiled to CHM, inbuilt plus and minus icon is also seen (even though i have not selected plus/minus square option while complining)
Can some one let me know what needs to done... END PRODUCT IS CHM file

Unfortunately the opportunity to customise the look and feel of CHM files is limited. For the index, you can not have a custom image or remove the default heading. With the TOC, are you talking about a custom icon strip? Perhaps you can leave us an image of whet you are seeing. Use the following icon to do so:

TOC in Microsoft help file missing expand buttons

Firstly happy new year to all
I am having an issue with a generated microsoft help file which is causing the expand buttons on the TOC to disappear. The help file works as expected apart from this irritation. Here is a screen shot of the dodgy TOC:
I would appreciate any help on this as I'm a bit stumped.

This is controlled by an option in your single source layout properties. Click on the Edit button next to the "Advanced Settings" field. In there, click on the TOC Styles tab and select the "Plus/Minus Squares option. If this is unavailable, select the "Lines from Root" option.

TOC Missing +/- (expand/collapse) boxes

Never seen this before, but my TOC is suddenly missing the
+/- expand/collapse topic buttons. Anyone know what the problem is
here? TOC is set to binary.

Is this for .CHM or WebHelp? If it's WebHelp, you need some
images. You may obtain some by
clicking
here.
If it's for compiled .CHM, you need to look at the Single
Source Layout properties. Click the Advanced... button, then the
TOC Styles tab. Click to enable Lines from Root, then you will be
able to choose Plus/Minus Squares.
