Plz help for upgrading to new OS X Mavericks
I purchased MacBook Pro in May'11 with Mac OS 10.6.6 installed. Few months back i downloaded DMG file elsewhere for upgrading to10.6.8 and successfully upgraded without loosing any file & other OS i.e. WINDOWS XP. Now i wish to upgrade to new OS X 10.9.2. Plz help me for doing so.
Thanx for replying, but there is no Apple Store in INDIA, there are only resellers. I approached the outlet from where i had purchased my MacBook, but he has refused for update.
Plz tell me if i can get STANDALONE INSTALLER from "apple.com
". I searched for one which updated directly from 10.6.8 (my present OS) to 10.9.2 at "http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338?viewlocale=en_US", but in vain.
Please let me link from where i can download installer in a PC working on WINDOWS 7 with gud internet speed.

To combine all the answers above and have a topic-based reply please go through the below steps:
#1. Inactivate the current extension field Company (I see it is actually a String value and this is not what you want to have)
#2. Go to Setup -> System Setup -> Extension Reference Types
Check if you already have a Company reference type
If not, create a new Extension Reference Type for Class Company. Fill in all required information.
#3. Create a new Extension Attribute
Select Data Type: Object Reference
Now you can add the Company type as reference

i'm a fresher in jsp. i write a jsp page with a 'text box' & a button. when i click the button, i want to see the html page that can choose somthing from it & then, i want to see the selected data in the 'text box' of jsp page of previous window. but, when i run my code, the jsp page open, then when i click the button, the html page appear with new window. but, when i choose one & click the submit button, it call the jsp page again in new window. i don't want to see the jsp page again in new window. but in previous window with the data i selected in the 'text box'.
How can i do it? where can i change?

I'm going to check on this form.as much to make sure it works for everyone! Plz try it and let me knowI had recently upgraded my 4S to iOS 6.1.2. All was well except Facetime and iMessage. For "Waiting for Activation" under the iMessage setting, this is what I did after 2 days of waiting:
Plugged in to PC
backed up contacts etc on iTunes
Reset the iphone from settings>general>reset>erase all data and settings
Set up the phone as new
after setting up restored from back up on iTunes
iMessage working!
Oh and first it was working from the emails i set up. I had to uncheck all emails from Settings>Messages>Send and receive, to make iMessages shift to my phone number.
Also in my experience saying "OK" or "Cancel" to "Carrier may charge for an SMS" did not make a difference.
Hope it helps everyone stuck at "Waiting for activation"! -
Correct procedure for upgrading/ reinstalling new version of Add On.

I hope someone can help me have a better understanding of how to upgrade a previously installed add on for my clients. We are using SBO 2004
I have tried removing the installed add ons from the server and re registering the new add on but that always causes the client users to get a add on has been changed error please upgrade COMMON DB. This is fixed by renaming the file called AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo on the local client machine. Then the upgraded add on installs properly.
Anyone have better experience with this upgrade process? There must be some steps I am missing.

I also get this message when using the "Fixed Assets" AddOn and now with our own AddOn too.
It seems to me that the Problem appears only on my Notebook on which the SBO-Client is sometimes connected to the original customer's database and sometimes to the development database (the same company).
Last week I've installed the last version of our AddOn at the Customer and the client on my Notebook has got it too.
Now a new AddOn-version is ready on the development-server, which is client too. The new AddOn runs fine on this "client-on-sbo-server".
But when connecting the notebook to the Dev.-Server I get the error-message from above.
So (maybe) this problem occurs when connecting to the same company on different machines with different versions of the same AddOn(?)
(Renaming the 'AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo' helps but now I have problems to get back the Screen-Painter...) -

If you are new to java and jsp taking up such a task to learn it is not ideal, nor
viable. I would suggest you learn the basics of the language first, then the basics
of jsp, then some jdbc and finally graduate to the example in question. There are
excellent tutorials avbl for all on the net.
Maybe someone else would even post the code here, but suggest you dont
waste time waiting on it.

Pointers for upgrading to new version of SQL Server?
We're running SAP Business One 2007 A (8.00.181) SP:00 PL:49
At the moment we have a dedicated server computer to host the SQL databases for this product. The server computer is 32-bit Windows Server 2003. The database server is SQL Server 2005 32-bit. This server was purchased in fall 2006 and had a fast disk subsystem for its day: 5x 15K UltraSCSI hard drives in RAID5.
We have several company databases, some of which are in the 12 - 13GB range in size. There are occasions where two or more of these large-ish databases may be in use simultaneously. Since SQL Server on the current server limits itself to 2GB RAM usage, I suspect there is a lot of paging to disk when multiple company databases are open, with a major hit on performance.
Windows Server 2003 goes end-of-life on July 15, 2015. SQL Server 2005 end-of-life is April 14, 2016. As part of a refresh of company IT infrastructure, we're considering replacing various physical servers with virtual servers. Ideally, we'd like to migrate the backend to a current version of SQL Server on a current Windows server OS, and also move to a 64-bit platform so we can allocate more RAM to SQL Server. We may also host virtual hard drive file(s) on SSD if/where that makes sense.
What I've found so far:
All the current SAP databases are Compatibility Level 90 (native SQL Server 2005)
The latest version of SQL Server that supports Compatibility Level 90 is SQL Server 2012. SQL Server 2014 drops support for 90. I assume it's a bad idea to change the database compatibility level?
If for any reason we have to stick with SQL Server 2005, the latest version of Windows that supports that is Server 2008 R2. That's not ideal, since in a perfect world we would want all virtual machines running Server 2012 R2
Moving to a 64-bit version of SQL Server requires a so-called "side-by-side" upgrade, it's not possible to use a SQL Server upgrade wizard
The VAR we used to install and configure the product in 2006 is no longer in business so we'd like (if possible) to do this ourselves. I'm a software developer familiar with client-server development, SSMS etc. so I feel reasonably confident in undertaking a side-by-side upgrade.
So, assuming we'd like to migrate the backend to 64-bit SQL Server 2012, can anyone offer any pointers, experiences, or things to watch out for?
There are also some services running on the current server computer, which I'm assuming will also need to be migrated:
SAP Business One Integration Service
SAP Business One License Manager 2007
SAP Business One Messaging Service

Here is a method for removal and clean up of iTunes and related programs. You might get away with just doing the Apple Software Update part rather than the whole thing. I would try just removing and cleaning ASU first.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup

Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:

*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes. -

Help for a furstrated new Motion user...
Hi,
FCS2 arrived the other day, and im fine with FCP6 and the other stuff, but Motion 3 is really confusing me. I have never used motion before, so it is all new to me. I know FCP inside out, so hopefuly some of the knowledge I have from FCP will apply to motion.
Any essential tips you could give me that might help the whole system click into place in my head?
I desperatly want to get good at motion, as I am currently working on a video for Heathrow Terminal 5, and it would be great to be able to use some custom motion graphics for the video...

Some 3D stuff would be good but to be honist anything would be good. I wanted to do a lower third with a cuban cigar, and I have a freind who is a product photographer who can take a proper photo of a cigar, its just animating it in a way that is interesting and not so simple that I look under-skilled!

Why i need to pay for upgrading a new garageband?
Currently my garageband is still v6.0.5, am using OS X Yosemite, MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013. Really need helps
The new GarageBand version is a major new upgrade, going from version number 6.0.5 to 10. So it has to be purchased, The purchase of GarageBAnd 10 used to be free, but you had to pay for the in-app purchase. Without this purchase GarageBand was just a Trial version and you had to pay to get a full working version. Now the conditions have changed. You have have to pay for the basic version, but the in-app purchase is free. But basically, you have to pay the same as before.
When you upgrade, don't delete or uninstall your current GarageBand 6.0.5. You can use both versions concurrently, and the new version does not support all features of the previous GarageBand version. you may want to use your previous version occasionally, and it is hard to get it back, once uninstalled. -

It will run FCP 7...the entire suite...but it will not convert anything to ProRes. It doesn't have the power. It won't be able to deal with most (talking 80-90%) of the new camera formats (AVCintra, AVCHD, H.264, RED).
Sorry, but that machine is 6 years out of date. Actually...1.6Ghz processor...8 years out of date. There is no way it will be "up to date." Your MacBook Pro will run CIRCLES around it.
