Plz Help - Issue with Microsoft Comfort Mouse 3000

Hey everyone..
Lil story to begin this one. I am a mac user for 2 years, and I love it. I recently got a job doing digital artist/retouching working at a big photo studio in my locale - they use windows xp. After working there for a while, I realized that the mouse control/acceleration on windows is far superior to mac os x (in my opinion, and others as well).
I went out and bought the Microsoft Comfort Mouse 3000 on recomdendation because it uses the mouse drivers from windows (different acceleration curve). It works fine for movement, yet the software that allows me to assign expose features to the wheel button DOES NOT WORK. Nothing will make it work - it only shows the active windows. If I try to assign dashboard to that button and click ok, it doesnt' work. Even after restarting, it still doesn't work.
Any suggestions?!?!? (i know it's MS, but this should be working right)

installing the drivers was the first thing I did. Still does not work - I then uninstalled everything - went snooping on the microsoft site and actually found the intellipoint 6.2.1 drivers, installed those, and the mouse wheel button does still not work
I can't make it use ANY other feature other than 'show all windows"

Since I installed a few updates, that I can't access the sharepoint the same way. I always get errors when trying to access the majority of the pages.
I already removed the update suggested on other threads (KB2844286), but everything remains the same.
I always receive errors like this one:

Ugly issue with my Magic Mouse

I have a Magic Mouse that has work essentially flawlessly for quite a while.
I run VMware Fusion so I can run Windows XP and the Magic Mouse worked great there as well. Tonight I was trying something and I told VMware Fusion to connect the Apple Bluetooth USB Host Controller to Windows XP. Well, at this point my Magic Mouse connectivity stopped and man did my troubles begin.
I quickly told Vmware to disconnect the USB Host Controller from Windows but this hasn't fixed my new issues with the Magic Mouse. At this point my Magic Mouse is barely functional.
The symptoms are this:
- If I disconnect the mouse using the tool bar blue tooth indicator and then reconnect it, the blue tooth indicator says the mouse is connected but it doesn't work. I have to physically power down the mouse and back on before it work.
- When it does kinda work, the mouse at times "jumps" across the screen so I have to be very careful how quickly I move it at times.
- The multi-touch scroll feature no longer works. It worked in Windows XP as well ... not any more.
- When I click on the bluetooth icon and try to bring up the Mouse Properties it takes QUITE a long time.
When I try to get the system to "discover" the mouse again, it can take quite a long time and the following shows up in the Console App:

Sounds to me like you have one of several issues going on there.
You may have a lot of interference in the same frequency as your bluetooth device.
Or - you may have a bad bluetooth transceiver in either your mouse or your computer.
Take the mouse to another computer with bluetooth on it and sync it to that - if it works fine then your computer or your environment is the culprit there ( um this assumes that you took your mouse to another location, say your friends house where the interference threshold is bound to be different than at your house), and you should then take your computer out of the house for the day, and see how the mouse works away from home.
If the mouse is bad - you will have issues if you take it to another location - replace it - check warranty
If you think is is your house / place you have your computer, that may contain an the interference that messes with your mouse:
Try turning everything off you can think of in your house / office, and see if it gets better. Also - a big one - make sure that your computer and mouse are not to close to any speakers / etc, as they do have a magnetic field that could cause a mess with bluetooth mice. (rare but it happens)

Also check the silly things - like are the batteries dead?
Last thing I can think of - is to delete the mouse all together, then re-discover it -
Um - after replacing the batteries of coursse - just to be SURE.
Then you can turn everything back on in vmware etc - you may also want to make sure that you have the latest version and additions etc installed.

Scroll wheel on Microsoft Comfort mouse 4500 not working in Framemaker 7

Hi folks
It is another scroll wheel not working in Frame 7 question. I have just attached a Microsoft Comfort mouse 4500 to my machine, downloaded the software, IPx86_1033_8.20.468.0, for this mouse as required by Microsoft and the scroll wheel does not work, this is the fourth type of mouse installed of different makes. Is there a fix for this new mouse so I can scroll in Frame or can anyone recommend a mouse that will work?
Microsoft are saying the mouse is not fauly as it works in all other programs and PDF as well.
I have removed and reinstalled all software as recommended by Microsoft, and even tried installing in different configurations still to no avail.

This laptop has original Microsoft word & excel provided by Mac when purchased and is legal copy.
Do I understand you bought a Mac and it came with Microsoft Office? I could be wrong, but I wasn't aware that was an option. Or am I not parsing that sentence correctly and you bought a Mac and bought a legal copy of Office to install on it? In which case, never mind.

Issue with HP Bluetooth Mouse z5000

I love this mouse. It worked great, scrolled smoothly across my screens. Now it lags. It holds up. I changed the battery, but it continues to have the same issue. I have tried completely removing it from the bluetooth profile on my computer and reconnecting it back. I get the same issue. Help! I love this mouse!

Yes, just purchased the same mouse works well but only sometimes. Depending on the weather I guess. After connecting via Bluetooth the curser lags, judders, accelerates and stalls, not keeping up with your hand movements at all. Similarly the mouse key presses can lag and be quite retarded. The strangest thing it does this based on no known or obvious conditions. I get it to work eventually by re-booting the PC. Problem is that it takes 5 or 6 re-boots to clear out the issue. I have tried to download the drivers but HP only have drivers for the z6000 and not the z5000.
Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this, and more importantly, how to fix it?

Serious issue with password manager - mouse selection in MS word 2007

A little while ago, after installing some thinkvantage updates, I started to loose selection with the mouse in microsoft word 2007 after few minutes of usage (and derivatives such as outlook). I have a T61 with Windows 7 64 bit ultimate.
I did many internet searches and surprisingly many other users who had this issue were Lenovo users so I'm not even sure if this issue is windows 7 specific.
Disabling totally the password manager solved the problem - so there might be a serious issue there...

BPC 7 performance issue with Microsoft 2003 vs Microsoft 2007

Hi All,
Needs some help with our performance issues with BPC 7 on Microsoft 2007. We have noticed a significant difference between the two versions. When running the same report on BPC 7 MS 2003 it takes roughly around 5-6 min. When running the same report in BPC 7 MS 2007 the report takes roughly 15-20 min. We've tried numerous things to figure out what can be causing this but does anyone have the same issue or shed some light as to what i can do to eliminate this problem?

Did you install the following component on your application server (which is a prerequisite for running Excel 2007)? This note is part of the installation guide:
In order for the software to function correctly in Excel 2007, you must install the Microsoft Office 2007 system driver Data Connectivity Components, which you can get from the Microsoft web site. The components must be installed on the Application server. We recommend that you install all of the latest Microsoft Windows hotfixes prior to installing the Administration client. For information about which hotfixes to install, see http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7554F536-8C28-4598-9B72-EF94E038C891&DisplayLang=en.

MAC OS X 10.6.3 issues with iTunes/Magic mouse

This is strange. Somehow I was able to upgrade Snow Leopard 10.6 to 10.6.3. How was that possible? I did this about a week or so ago. 10.6.3 is not available on Apple's download site today 2-7-2010. How did I get access to it?
A couple of weeks ago, I bought the Snow Leopard CD and installed it over my Tiger OS, without any problems. Then i bought a wireless keyboard and magic mouse which prompted me to upgrade Snow Leopard to 10.6.2., as well as upgrade the software to the wireless peripherals. Went to Apple's download page and somehow downloaded OS X 10.6.3. Hmmm? I also installed the latest security update at this time too. After all installs, at this point, I wasn't experiencing any issues with my laptop.
But then, I upgraded iTunes to 9.0.3. At this point I started experiencing problems after shutting down and then booting up the next day. iTunes began playing music slowly, music wasn't garbled, but the songs sounded out of tune (playing from my hard drive). Also, my wireless magic mouse got jumpy and exhibited delayed reaction. I ended up reinstalling OS X 10.6 (from the cd) over the existing OS (10.6.3), and now iTunes works just fine. The reinstall of OS X 10.6 from the cd did wipe out my software upgrades for the wireless peripherals and i have yet to upgrade them. i'm just glad iTunes is working well again.
My questions are: Was the problem with iTunes playing slowly an iTunes issue? Or was the root problem from the upgrade to OS X 10.6.3, and therefor an OS problem? Why was my mouse also displaying problems? And how was I able to get OS X 10.6.3 from Apple several days ago when they don't have that version available for download on the site today? Confusing.

Even if a user has access to the beta, and knew of an issue they are working on, he/she would not be able to comment on it here. This forum is only for OS's that have been released and is covered by a Terms of Use agreement.
Sounds like you got an unintended update in some sort of fluke accident, and since you've removed it, there's no way of telling what caused the problem or if it was the OS or program or both.

I'm trying my level best to mould my expectations according to the software but till now no success,can you plz explain
to make the timeline less cluttered and organized we make secondary storylines and compound clips
since you can't keep too many things in order in a big project you take a portion ,compound it , work in it and come back,
within the compound clip you put transitions and some secondary storylines get created automatically within the compound clip due to applying transitions.
When you come back to the main timeline there are several times you have to break apart that compound clip,to now add more shots before and after those individual arrangement of clips ......
but since it has a secondary storyline in it, it break aparts undoing all the transitions
if instead of compound clip it is a secondary storyline it creates problem if we have to retime clips the clip again and again leaves its assigned position,nor does it eat on or overlapp the slug it has created with a P tool , when dragged,retiming it increases that clip in both directions thus leaving the assigned place......,or with opacity overlapping or for split screen have to be controlled individually from within the secondary clip in association with another clip below it...........at that moment you definately want to break it apart......
(I'm assuming that you are understanding I have to work in several layers sometimes six or seven due to complex overlapping ,split screen, keying and titles etc which you can't keep in a linear order)
Now plz suggest how should I work,
in my music videos there are more than 300 bits of clips in a 5 minute song......in several layers because of mulitilayer opacity effect and split screens
it is not possible to cut all the clips first and then put transitions in the end because you have to try arrangement of clips with transitions to see if you get the proper feel of the music else you change the order.......plz suggest me a better work flow.....
I cannot keyword things in the event browser because keywording such huge number of moments including 2-3 second shots is simply impossible because the process of trying various combinations can only be done when you have them all on the timeline in various layers..........how should I begin and what process should I stick to so that I edit portions finish them come back to main timeline and everything remains unaltered.........Thank you plz help.

So does this mean......If you can't drag your final work directly from the event browser from the beginning , you are in trouble ?
Thanks Tom ......................I know you cannot make this software work the way you want the only workflow I see possible is making event browser , the source of your footage at the very start of your project....as if you have planned the editing of all those 300 bits of a music video on the paper before hand......be it organizing clips or using split screen generators the source has to be from the event browser ,once clips are on the timeline the possibilities are too limited.......
The only way of categorizing clips on timeline are roles which only unhighlight other clips ....it again cannot be used like a selected list of source to make the place less messy.....I think even smart collection works from the event browser not from the timeline because I tried that also.Is it so....?
A FANTASY ....I wish there was a way where you could select selective clips from the timeline and refer them in a place from where they would all show up like original clips from the event browser so that you could just drag those exact pieces and place one after the other trying combinations and boom........ like you do parts from clips ......but once everything is on timeline I have still not figured out a way that you can have a bank where all those selected bits can be seen even as reference thumbnails and a then they can be placed sequentially on a timeline........dragging , move and pasting , flipping between timelines is the only way of doing it neatly,and that is very tiring and time consuming .....when two timelines can also not be placed in two windows.......I hope you are understanding what I want.......if you can't drag your final work directly from the event browser from the beginning , you are in trouble.
In earlier versions you could atleast keep all your selected 2-3 second bits or shots on various tracks and just drag them in the final track.....Is there anyway you think can be done in fcpx......I use it because it has some outstanding features other than layers .....else still have to figure out a way....plz help Tom.

CS4 issues with Microsoft Office Small Business 2007? Other apps?

I recently purchased the CS4 upgrade and a new laptop. Last night after nearly 7 hours I finally got it all installed and working correctly. I had the versioncue.dll error which caused most of my pain. Anyway... I've been lurking on the forums since CS3 launched but passed on it due to all the issues I had read about it's installer, finally I felt I needed to take the plunge and upgraded my software (from MX2004 suite). My question is this.
Currently I have a very clean laptop with only:
Kaspersky 2009 and CS4 installed.
I'm looking to install Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 but I have a concern with the Small Business Manager SQL Server. From other post I've seen that the sql servers have conflicted with adobe applications, has anyone had any issues with this or should I be able to install it now without issue. I'm trying to pre-emptivly make sure I don't screw something up and have to install everything again from scratch.
My end goal would be to have: Kaspersky security suite 2009, CS4, MS office Small Business 2007, Paragon back up application. At that point I want to create a restore and if anything happened I'd have the bulk set up easily again.
Does anyone have any other no no's about what does and does not play well with CS4?

I should also have mentioned (ask) about the fact that when I first installed I had gotten all the way past the initial installer and to the updates so the suite had already been activated/registered.
After getting the versioncue.dll error it has you remove the suite and many folders pertaining to it. So after I did all that and reinstalled it automatically put my info back in for me (obviously one of the folders it doesn't have you move) and I don't recall it re-registering it again. I'm assuming I am fine with my activations and it only counted it once as it was the same machine with an uninstall/reinstall? Everything seems to be working ok, i'm just curious as to what it actually did? Did it take another activation or no? I'm planning on installing to my desktop as well as soon as I get the board/proc replaced, so i'm just looking down the road for potential issues.

F4 help issue with Webdynpro ABAP application

I am facing a strange issue with the F4 help in my webdynpro abap application.
I have few fields for Purchase Order and Line item on the screen and they have corresponding F4 helps associated with them.
When i select for F4 help, sometimes the screen simply blanks out and a white screen is displayed. When i refresh the screen and try the same scenario again, i can see the value list correctly.
This issue occurs very randomly with no specific pattern. If anyone else has faced this issue earlier, kindly let me know how to get rid of this issue.
Any pointers to resolve this issue will be helpful.
Note: I am using SAP version 702 SP09.

we cannot help you from offline, you need to check the standard procedures like
SICF->is your application node is active.
FQDN->check fully qualified name is configured
You can also try to execute standard SAP application, if sap application also has problem running then you may have to get the help of BASiS people to look into that and raise a support ticket.
If sap applications are running and your custom developed applications are not running then look into this application if there is any URL parameters need to supply etc.

Displaying TTF Fonts Issue with Microsoft VM

I have a Java 2D design tool that adds text to the graphic design. I implemented the use of TTF Fonts using the Family Name of the fonts. It works just fine for a user running the designer applet with the Sun JRE.
However, a user that is using the designer applet with Microsoft VM is unable to display the font changes. All of the fonts are installed in the Microsoft/Fonts folder and the fonts all work fine with Sun JRE, but do not change at all using the Microsoft VM.
Does anyone have any experience with this and how to get the fonts to display correctly for both the Sun JRE and the Microsoft VM users?

Yes...I know the Microsoft VM has gone away...but only recently and only Sun is available for new machines. If everyone was running Sun I wouldn't have a problem here...but unfortunately a lot of my customers are running the Microsoft VM and I need a solution to the issue.
I have to believe that even though compatibility ended way back in the dark ages...the Microsoft VM has a way of using the fonts installed in the Microsoft/Fonts folder...which is not happening. The Sun JRE is using the fonts in the folder...but the Microsoft VM is not...
So I need someone that knows what needs to happen to get the Microsoft VM to use the fonts installed on the local machine.

Hi people, plz give me some help on this: I wanna control mouse motion at another program's window, eg. control mouse movement in Internet Explorer's window. For a particular pixel on the screen, I need to move the mouse onto it instantly, then click.
