Plz help...I have no sound from my iPod touch 4th gen........I asked google and it said maybe my headphone jack is stuck.....huh

TS2771 I can only hear sounds from my ipod touch with headphones plugged in.
I am only able to hear any sounds/music from my iTouch with the headphones plugged in to it. I have the change with buttons selected to "on". Am I missing something else?
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.

Help no sound from my Ipod Mini
Battery is charged, worked fine for the longest time, but turned it on today and even with volume all the way up I can barely hear anything. Tried exterior speakers, same result. Never been dropped or damaged.

Fortunately mine is under the original 12 mos. from purchase so it only costs me the shipping of 29.95. They sent a box with instructions to send in the iPod & I pay for the return shipping. I am trying to transfer songs from my iPod touch to my computer and can not figure out how to do it. I also want to transfer the songs I have back in to iTunes. My hard drive went out on my computer and I lost all of my songs, except for on my iPod. I have an iPhone as well and did an update and it wiped out all of my songs. Someone please help me.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your comptuer for just such an occasion. use your backup copy to put everything back. -

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:

- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Since you have purchased a new Mac (which, BTW, is not typed in all capitals) why not buy a Time Capsule <http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/> which is designed specifically to work with OS X and Time Machine?
You don't say what part of your Sony "crashed." If it was not the HDD it is possible to take the computer apart, put the HDD in an external case, then recover the data off of it (including the music) simply drag-n-drop. If it was the HDD that "crashed" that makes it more difficult.
If you are able to recover the music from the Sony you can then add it to the iTunes library on the Mac and iTunes Match will then scan, match and upload the tracks to be mirrored in the cloud. -

The ipod is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of your computer. The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to purchase 3rd party software to extract other content ( not supported by Apple). -

I seen so many of these post for windows users.
Try my little "trick" (must be running iOS 4.3 or better)
Download the app "Download Manager Lite" (FREE) or "Download Manager" Full ($ 1.99 USD)
After downloading, transfer it to iTunes
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
After transferring, Go to your iDevice (on itunes), to the apps page, scroll down, you can add/save videos and/or files.
Click on "Add", find the folder of which your movies are being downloaded. Its much faster than syncing from itunes.
You can do the wi-fi transfer, the best part is that you don't have to be connected to the same wi-fi.
You will get 2 different URLs you need to type on your computer. Type the Web URL not the ftp URL. After that, you should have access to the app, without the need of itunes.
Click on Add, find the folder of where your movies are stored, faster than syncing with iTunes.

My grandson delted all data from his ipod touch {thinking he was deleting his songs.] Now all he gets when he turns it on is a gray screen with an apple logo. We do not have it backed up nor was it ever turned on to itunes. We purchased it used from a co worker and didnt get that far.. Our computers do not recognise it as any thing nor does itunes when we have it plugged into itunes. Any way to fix this? Apple support will remote into our computer to fix it. For $ 99.00. Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I am trying to transfer my music and apps from my iPod Touch to my laptop computer's itunes library so that I can update the IOS. I have tried "Transfer Purchases from iPod Touch under File/Devices and nothing seems to happen. The itunes library on my laptop is still empty and everything is still on my ipod Touch.
