PLZ HELP!! TRYING TO UPDATE & IT CAN'T DETECT MY P...
My PC Windows XP installed, I have a Nokia N80 V3.0617.0.6 03.05.2006 RM-92 Nokia N80 (33.01) I've installed the new PC Suite version, I've connected my phone and all drivers have been installed. I've also downloaded the Software Update package but when i try to connect to update my phone it disconnects my phone and the updater screen says "No phone detected please try again" When i close the update screen down my phone reconnects!!! What am i doing wrong? Can someone please help cos its doing my head in!!!!!!

right, i had orange, it was mental, the branding is crackers, they should leave there phones be, but they wont and insist filling it full of **bleep** i didnt get it upgraded it was just a nightmare. with some network branded phones nokia wont able phones to be updated as something between nokia and the provider. sim free or unbranded phones have that option to upgrade , this is why some people are seeking to change the product code to unbranded/sim free to enable this fw upgrade... this however is illegal and will ruin any warrenty for the phone. also i did try this with my n70(orange again) but it messed up completely and was unable to upgrade full stop as the software upgrade couldnt find the phone at all. so be warned , if its a pre owned phone you dont know whats been messed about with it .

my iPad has been stuck on the apple loge for almost 10 hrs after trying to update, how can this be fixed?
You may have to restore your iPad using Recovery mode, but try a reset first. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons when you see the logo. This takes about 10-15 seconds.
IF the update will not complete or you see the connect to iTunes message on the screen, you have to restore your iPad.

Plz HELP - since i updated my BB to version 5, always have icon unopened message
So frustating >>> I found out that since I updated my BB 9700 to v5.0.0.586 (platforms 5.1.0.146), there are always icon of unopened message (with number 1 infront of it ) in my BBmessenger. I have checked all (including using the search options and changed "show to unopened only" ... and still DOESNT Fix the problem.
I tried to updated again today (24th June 2010) and it makes worse. Now the unopened message icon has a star always. I tried to pull out my battere, it works for a minute ---- the star was dissappeared for a while ; then it come up again (i checked that there are no recent updates in my friend list).
Please Please .... can anybody help me?

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with device errors. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Use recovery mode
You might need to use recovery mode to restore your device in these cases:
iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode.
You see the Apple logo onscreen for several minutes with no progress bar.
You see the Connect to iTunes screen.
Learn what to do if you see the progress bar onscreen for several minutes.
To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.

Learn what to do if you don't see your device in iTunes for OS X, or in iTunes for Windows.
If you put your device into recovery mode by mistake, restart it. Or you can wait 15 minutes and your device will exit recovery mode by itself.

Trying to update OS can't find update in general settings
Friend gifted me his IPAD, trying to update OS, but can't find Software Update in General Settings.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

Newbie trying to update iMac as far as it will go without having to purchase a new one yet. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

What I am doing wrong please or i,m going to throw itThe Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes as described half-way down the page that you posted from.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11). You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes and selecting 'Backup' (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC)
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

IPad stuck in recovery mode while trying to update it, can't reset it
I tried to update it, got errors 4 and 14. Tried to restore it, got errors 4005, 11 and 4013. iTunes recognizes the iPad, but iTunes diagnostics doesn't. I also don't see it in Windows (even though Windows installs the drives when I connect the iPad). Apps like iPhone Recovery don't recognize the device.
I would blame it on my cable, but it charges normally and iTunes does recognize it so I'm very confused. What should I do? I already tried a different PC, but unfortunately I don't have a Mac.sam as mine, stucked at recovery mode

Thanks for any response. I have moved my I Tunes on my PC to an external hard drive. I moved it to the program file I created on the drive. When I tried to update to the new I tunes I get an error saying file name "program File" has a bad character. I deleted the name and renamed with no success. Has anyone had the same problem? Any suggestions are welcomed.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

How do I get help when no updated browser can load a particular site,"can't find server,"
In recent weeks, possibly coinciding with updates in Firefox (running 3.6.10), Safari and iTunes, I have only received the prompt, "can't find server" when attempting to connect to the site below. Others can get it on their computers in other places, and my iPhone can access when on 3G, but our network here seems affected because all the computers [All macs, some laptops and some desktops, running on OS 10.5.8] here receive this message. I used to be able to go to this site, a radio station, and stream audio or download podcasts. My ISP ran a ping test to the site's server and said that went through, but the browsers don't seem to be able to make the transformation to anything I can read. What kind of a problem is this? Apple was no help either.
Well, it's very interesting that without my doing anything else, last Friday, kcrw.com mysteriously APPEARED when I went to it. This happened in Safari, too. It loads and I can stream the audio (with the Flash update). No explanation, really.
I had checked the protocols, but everything was default. It took all week for the change; so I can't believe that my tinkering (which was really only checking and doing nothing) was the cause of the reappearance. -

You need to have either an iPod 3G or 4G and update the iOS to to iOS 5. The 1G and 2G iPods can't go to iOS 5.
