How to modify the query in existing Lov using Form Personalization in Oracle R12.
Plz Provide the steps to accomplish this task.

hi i developed a smartforms......
in it i am using 'SSF_OPEN' and 'SSF_CLOSE' functions to suppress the print preview box which was coming again n again.....
firstly it was working properly bt i made some changes in my smartforms and then it started giving me the problem n giving the error after executing'Previous Output Request was not finished'...
plz help me out how to solve this problem....

Query regarding Forms Personalization

Hi ,
I have a requirement to execute the following code in a WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger to update the WHERE clause of the Item Category flexfield in the Purchasing module.
Normally I would have executed this code from within the trigger. How can I replicate it using Forms Personalization, I mean what type of Action do I need to define which will execute this code directly or indirectly.

FIELD=>'ITEM_CATEGORY',

I also tried to create a stored procedure without luck as fnd_key_flex is defined in a library attached to the form, so get error creating the procedure.

Tha Dev Guide mentions that we can update the WHERE_CLAUSE using for eg.

But, there is no option to change the source view itself. How do I change that ? I cannot see a parameter SELECT_COMB_FROM_VIEW for the FND_KEY_FLEX.UPDATE_DEFINITION !!
Can I write the FND_KEY_FLEX.DEFINE again in CUSTOM.pll using my custom view instead ? Will it override the default definition ?
Any suggestions or alternative ways would be appreciated.

Can we write rollback in pre-insert trigger in oracle forms.When i write rollback in pre-insert trigger its giving the error :Illegal procedure Rollback_NR in PRE-INSERT trigger in apps front end .And the transaction is not rollbacked even if i write rollback in trigger.Can anyone find a solution for this

Plz its URGENT : Storing unicode data in MS SQL Server 2000 through JSPs

Hello All,
I'm trying to store unicode data, entered from JSP page into the SQL Server. For that I've tried the following :
1> I put tag -
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
2> Also set in JSP tag -
<%@page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"%>
But, still data is being entered in ISO-8859-1 format, don't know why. I tried with function for convertion - private String toUniCode(String strPar)-it successfully shows me the unicode data in alret msg, but it doesn't enters unicode data in SQL Server. In SQL Server only '??????' get entered. I kept data-type in SQL Server as nvarchar to store data in unicode.
Would it be possible for me, to accept the data as UTF-8 itself & can I store it in SQL Server as it is? How can I do that? I'm accepting data in 'marathi' language.
Plz, anybody Help me, I'm trying for this from around more than 1 week.

Thanx for your help. In fact I've tried lot many alternatives for that. Later I realised that it was problame of Driver, not of code. I was using jdbc:odbc driver which doesn't support unicode, or I don't know what was the problame with it.
But I downloaded the driver named :'TaveConnect30C'. It is the connection optimised driver of Atinav.com This is the JDBC3 Type 4 Driver for MS SQL Server 6.5/7.0/2000 & trial version of which can be downloaded from http://www.atinav.com/download.htm
It is really very good type-4 Driver.

The program is picking up the junk G/L for one of the entries
The G/L which is picked up is ( <1400010Esp.> & the error which is occured is The G/L entry should not Exceed 10 characters
Why is picking such an junk value though we have not assigned such Gl anywhere

hi,
i got requirement that creation of new dataelement even though we have standard
dataelements.y bcoz they want elobrate field description.
my actual requirement is i have one field PMTNR in QMTB table.
here created new table with the field PMTNR with dataelemt QPMETHODE
field label for this method but they want description like Inspection method.
for this i created new dataelement   /GLB/RGTPT_INSP_METHOD
i maintained field label as short      10   method
                                      medium   15 insp.method.
                                      long         20 inspection method
                                      header     17 inspection method.
in table maintanance generator i am getting only short field lable i.e method only
here what i want is i want either long label or header label.
can any one suggest how can i get full description like inspection method.

Go to SE11, ur table name and click on change ..now go to Utilities->Table maintenance Generator ,
there click on the single screen,it will take u to the screen code and then u have to click on button Layout(for screen) ..
here double cllick on the field label for which u want long text to be displayed,double clicking will open up Attribute window for tht field ,here in the Dict Tab u can see one option named Modify, give value as 3 there (fro long text)..
now it wil take long text of the field once saved n activated.

I have a stored proc trying to retrieve blob field(a binary file) from a
View(in schema1) in oracle10g. After retrieving I am sending it to another
databsase(schema2) through a dblink which is in oracle9i. I am using TOAD for

I am unable to insert this. I am getting an error related to BLOB Field. My
question is, the DBMS_LOB package which I have used is correct or not to
retrieve? If yes, then is it compatible to send the BLOB from Oracle 10g to
Oracle9i? What are the limitations for this.? How can I resolve this. Your

I have lengthy report containing 1000s of Records in it..
When i disply this report in viewer,i have to use horizontal scroll bar of IE to view the lengthy report,which will in turn display long page ofit.
But,My requirement is,i want to display the length report in singe screenshot itself..it means i should not use IE Horizontal scroll bar to view the next set of records in report..
does discoverer supports providing any scroll bar to view horizontal shots like what we do in Excel.

Press Next
Variable Represents: Range Value

Check Ready for Input
And Press Next

Create a new project, maintain the short text, and assign a development class.
(Its better to ask somebody senior in our project about this, because every project have one main project and development class)
If you have project say Zproject. Choose option components. Click Change.

Enter the coding .Save and activate the coding.
