Once you have represented the organizational structure of your company, you can choose between three different options for representing technical objects:
·        Functional structuring (only functional locations)
·        Object-related structuring (only equipment)
·        Combination (equipment at functional locations)
Functional Structuring
With this type of structuring, you subdivide your technical system into functional locations. For example, when you subdivide a production line into functional locations, you can represent the individual function units as functional locations in the system.
If you use functional locations when structuring your technical system, you can also take into account the process-oriented or spatial structure of the system.

Object-Related Structuring
With this type of structuring, you subdivide your technical system into pieces of equipment. A piece of equipment is an individual, physical object that is to be maintained independently, and that can be installed in a technical system or part of a technical system.
Combination
You can combine object-related structuring using pieces of equipment with functional structuring using functional locations. In this case, the pieces of equipment are installed at functional locations (installation/dismantling of individual objects at a functional location).
· The functional location represents the site where the technical tasks are performed.
· The piece of equipment represents the object with which the technical tasks are performed.
Within the framework of a damage analysis, you will then be able to recognize, for example, whether or not damage occurring repeatedly is linked to the usage site, or is specific to the objects made by a particular manufacturer.
Structuring From a Technical and/or Accounting Perspective
When you perform structuring from a technical perspective, you assign the technical objects of the system to particular object classes (equipment, functional location and assembly classes).
You can use this type of structuring in addition to structuring from a functional and/or object-related perspective.
When you perform structuring from an accounting perspective, you assign the system and its technical objects to certain cost centers or tangible assets.
You can use this type of structuring in addition to structuring from a functional and/or object-related perspective.

hi everybody
i have a querry regarding how old items are handled in PM . example in our old company we use to maintain a scrap ledger where we use to account our old items (materials/complete eqpts while replacing with new eqpts) etc we use to take into account as iron/copper/brass scrap etc and once they reach a certain level in scrap store we use to go for auction.
How is this part handled in PM?

I would recommend Create a New material Type , Once the Item becomes old Transfer all the Inventory to new material type. This way you can manage the Inventory for both the new and old and new materials.Once your old materials reaches certain Inventory , that material can be sold of and the revenues can be credited to Inventory.

Querry regarding Info Structure

Dear All,
I have created a Info structure by copying S070 info structure. I have created an update rule and activated the updating also, but when i use this info structure in MCI7 (Info system) no data is displayed in that screen. Only ' 0 ' is displayed in all the fields.
I am not able to understand where am i going wrong, I would request you to please help me solve the above issue.
If possible please reply with detail procedure of creating new Info Structure.

Characterstics used as criteria according to which the data record is selected in info structure, in this case you can add new characterstics for searching creteria, but it is not recomanded to delete the old one as this is only searching creteria. yes you need to re-generate the info structure after every updates.

Regarding structure creation

hai to all,
I tried to create one structure for function module ZBAPISTAT
for this structure i tried to add one field like OBJNR DATAELEMENT J_OBJNR but its gave error like
Field name OBJNR does not agree with proposed name OBJECT_NO for BAPI table
Message no. DT250
Diagnosis
You chose a field name which does not agree with the name proposed for this field.
System Response
You are warned against using this field name. However, the table can also be activated with the field name which differs from the one proposed.
Procedure
If possible, change the field name to the proposed name.
The default field name should only be changed for exceptions and only by the relevant application.

I THINK YOU want only fileds which are used in structure for your report
create one work area of structure type
types : begin of w_test.
include structure BSEG_ALV.
types : end of w_test .
data : it_test type standard table of w_test with header line .
now your internal table of type structure is ready
select data according to your specification
step by step
and push data into internal table .
this will help you .

In my application they have declred the structure like --
data: LT_APAR_DATA     TYPE FDBL_APAR_TABLE,
         LS_APAR_DATA     TYPE FDBL_APAR_DATA.
when they read the data from LT_APAR_DATA , i am getting the data. how can i read the data with out selecting the data first. like :
   Read table lt_APAR_DATA into wa_APAR_DATA index 1.
If so how the data is automatically updated into FDBL_APAR_TABLE structure.

Hi to all,
Here is a reqirement, i have on source structure
i.e 0crm_mattr_attr. In this structure there are 10 fields.In that 10 fields,ATNAM and ATVAL are the fields in that source structure.
here the field ATNAM contians some fields nearly 120 fields are there.Now these fields are in row wise.Now i want to dispaly those fields in column wise.

Urgent Querry regarding SRM to R/3 PO Creation

Hi All,
I have one requirement where in PO is created in SRM (using Extended Classic Scenario) and the same PO is reflected in R/3 thru RFC.
My requirement is related to pricing i have maintained a condition record for a condition type for eg : ZBRK is the condition type. In R/3 for condition type ZBRK i have maintained condition record. I need to populate the condition record when PO from SRM gets created in R/3.
Is it possible?

Regarding structure whose value is not comming in workarea

Hi experts,
         I had created a structure in abap dictionary in that i taken one fields whose data element is char and even in driver program i had use char for that fields, the field value is of decimal i.e 11.340. so when i used this structure in smartforms , the field value is coming in the internal table but not in workarea. I dont get to know why it is not coming in workarea as it come in internal table.

Make sure that you have the same type declared in form interface section ad driver program. put a beak point in your smart form inside the initialization section using the break-point statement. check that value is getting populated in smart form on not using debugging. if it is getting populated in debugging mode then you would have made a mistake in writing the value of work area in instead of just writing &wa_area& , Use the Field list button to list the the fields and drag and drop the values from your structure you have at the left bottom .or use the insert button to insert the work area just writing the &wa_area& will not print the value .if you have already used field list button then debug and see that are you getting the value in smart form or not.the value of decimal can be passed to smart form using the char data type or numeric. best thing debug and see.
Steps : 1. Have the data type same in Form interface and print program .
             2. Use the Button field just on the application toolbar just before the form painter button to get the list of variables available for printing .
             3. Drag the variable from the structure to print area .
             4. Put the statement BREAK-POINT hardcoded in your smart form .
             5.print the output type to see if value is getting populated .
Revert back for further details .

I need to select print GR/GI slip and Collective slip in the initial screen of MB1A.
I am using bapi BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE.Can anyone tell the corresponding fields for the above things, so that i can pass to BAPI.
I looked at the structure related to bapi, but i could not figured it out.

For the standard functionality you can use T code OOCU,
Here you 'Enable the link' which u want to be activated for Work flow management E.g Notification Creation.
If U want to assign a particular User - The only person who can receive the created notification, u can assign it in 'Assign Agent' tab.Else U can select 'General Use' tab so that it will go to all the Users.
Hope this is ur need, But if u want to extend ur Use, then u might need to deal with ' Work Flow Management' Expert.

first you have to create the service using AC03 and assing this service to Model serive spec in ML10 and specify this category as INST (plant maintenance), then you create the order and specify the control key which allowes the service, select the operation and in the operation tab in the bottom area you can find the service package and specify the model service spec. you created so the predefined services will be copied to the order.
Model service spec is used where you know the service provided perviously and the work is carried out frequently so that the process will be made easier,
Revision
Generally revision is used during any long stoppages or planned shut down only, so that they can able to track the orders created, amounts settled etc,
you can create revision in OIOB
Task list
Task list also used where you perform a repeated operation in frequent manner so that data entering during creation of order will be less, you plan your activity,materials , person required everything in task list and assing this task list to the order while creation, you can also use this for maintenance planning.

Need Clarification Regarding Structural Authorization

When you do need to implement Structural Authorization? How do you know when you don't need it?
I'm currently on an ECC6 implementation project and was informed that we do not need to implement it even though we are implementing the HR organization structure along with ESS and MSS.
Your inputs are highly appreciated.

for one it can be useful to implement structural authorizations when you want to restrict not only on the enterprise structure (e.g. personnel area, employee group etc.) but also on organizational atributes (position, org. units and the likes).
this decision is purely based on the requirement of your company's security demands.
as for your second question, I assume that there is a misunderstanding of terms. HR roles as such are the same as non-HR roles in so far that they can be assigned to the user directly through SU01 or PFCG.
the advantage of having an org. structure is that you may also assign the roles through this structure as well. this in itself has nothing to do with whether you would want to implement structural athorizations.
I hope to have clarified things a litlle for you.
