PM's see only a few resources in All Resources view of Build Team

Our PMs (and me, as an administrator) get different names when we use the All Resources view while building a team from PWA.  Both PMs and Admins have the My Organization category, and the view is in there too.  My Organization is set to cover
all current and future projects and resources.  As an Admin, when I open the view while building a team (from PWA) for some projects, I see all resources; but on another, I see only one.  On a project where the PM sees only one resource, I see them
all.  We have a 3-tier RBS, but it is not used in the My Organizations category.  Each project and each resource has one department.

On the project where you see the discrepancy, set the "All resources" view and ensure there is no filter selected over there.
To double check that there is no filter applied in the view, open Server Settings --> Manage Views --> open the view which is in Resource center -->click on Filter and check the settings
Ensure "<label for="idFilterByRBS">Filter Resources to user's RBS branch" is not enabled.</label>
If that doesn't help, Click on New view --> View Type : Resource Center --> Add all the categories, later choose that view and check the status.
Sometimes, toggling the filter in the view also can help us to resolve the issue.

    1. create two queries. master and detail and link on the fields of interest.
    2. on the layout, have repeating frames. one for the master and inside the master frame, a repeating frame for the detail.

  • I have CS5 and when I opened up a particular folder in Bridge, I see only a few thumbnails of my images.  The rest are this small blue icon.  How do I get my thumbnails back?

    In bridge on CS5 there is one folder I opened up today and in that folder I can only see a small percentage of thumbnail previews of the images.  The rest are this small blue icon.  How do I get my thumbnail previews back?  If I click on this icon it will open the image up okay in photoshop but I would like to see my thumbnail image to see what picture I am opening up.  Can anyone help?

    Have you tried the smart playlist function? You can set-up specific criteria, the number of songs you want in the playlist & have iTunes do the work for you. These are the only playlists I make anymore because I don't want to be dragging & dropping individual songs.

  • Why Do I get 0h hours for resources after using Resource Levelling in Project 2010?

    Hi,
    We are using MSProject 2010 and Project Server 2010 with Enterprise resources. All resources on all projects in the enterprise are shared resources. We are finding that after resource levelling is applied to the project some resources are only
    being assigned a fraction of their total availability, and in some cases Project will assign 0 hours to a resource for several consecutive weeks even though the resource has capacity for the week the task is scheduled to start. 
    For example: Let's say we have a task that is scheduled to start on 1-20-14. The task is a 112 hours of effort with no constraints and one resource assigned to it. The resource is available 40 hours per week for the next 4 weeks. After resource
    levelling I would expect Project to assign the resource as follows: 40 hours in week 1, 40 hours the next week and 32 hours the next week, for a total of 112 hours. Instead, Project does not assign the resource to the task until week 4 (even
    though the resource has capacity on the start date of the task) and pushes the finish date out. In some weeks the resource has 0h hours showing in the timephased grid on the Resource Usage sheet.  We have experimented with the levelling settings and it
    does not seem to matter which boxes are checked, but following is our preferred settings:
    1. Levelling Calculations set to Manual
    2. Look for overallocations on a day by day basis
    3. Clear levelling values before levelling is CHECKED
    4. Level entire project is selected.
    5. Levelling order is Priority,Standard
    6. Level only within available slack is CHECKED
    7. Levelling can adjust individual assignments on a task is CHECKED
    8. Levelling can create splits in remaining work is UNCHECKED
    9. Level resources with the proposed booking type is UNCHECKED
    10. Level manually scheduled tasks is CHECKED.
    Does anyone have any ideas about why Project is not using the resource's available capacity?

    Hi Judy,
    Thanks to give us more detail. But actually if you need to level a resource, it means that this resource is overallocated. In your example, since it is not overallocated on the 12weeks task you mention, it means that it should be assigned on another task.
    If not, there would be no need to perform any resource levelling.
    Concerning the fact that levelling assign resource at 0hr per week, this can be absolutely normal.
    Imagine that you have a resource working at 100% on 2 tasks on the same period. imagine also that there is actual work on one of the 2 tasks. Project will level the resource, meaning that it will move ahead the remaining work of one of the task (depending
    on the levelling parameters). But the actual work will not move, thus between the actual work and the moved-foreward remaining work, the resource will be assign at 0hr by time period on the splitted task.
    Please check all the task of the levelled resource and actual work.

  • T400 HELP!!! Only Fn key functions work, all other keys do not!

    Everything was working fine till i was in my browser and somehow hit spacebar only find that the screen has been magnified. From then on only keys with Fn function(light blue keys) worked; I have tried (Fn+Num Lk), (Fn+Scr Lk), (<right,left>shift+f10/f11), rolling back to previous backup, rebooting. Nothing works!! I tried these commands in the on-screen keyboard but there is no way to use the fn key, it does not have one. I have uninstalled the keyboard driver only for it to reinstall upon boot, it still does not work.
    Only keys with the Fn function; Fn+F2(windows lock), Fn+F3(battery), Fn+F4(stand-by), Fn+F5(wireless), Fn+F7(presentation/screen display), Fn+F8(keyboard pointer and touch pad), Fn+F9(i don't know), F12(hibernate), scrLk(numLk), home(brightness+), end(brightness-), pg up(keyboard bulb), spacebar(magnify screen) and the think vantage blue button. Only these few work. All other neutral keys do not work. I'm not sure about PrtSc(sysRq) and pause(Break). I tried them but doesn't seem to respond
    I have searched for all possible fixes, I am at an end if no one here is able to help me. I have deadlines coming up and am really desperate, HELP!!!

    You may have a Thinkpad keyboard fault - fortunately the keyboards are field replaceable units.

  • When I share library to my iPad, only a few "artists" are shown, but I can see all songs.

    The problem is that when I share my library (iTunes 11) to my iPad 2 (IOS 6), on "Artists" only a few appears, and they are wrong.  For example I can see artist "Yes", but with "Zero 7" albums covers.  Also most of artists does not appear.
    I use Windows XP (waiting to my new iMac..) and I'm afraid that when I have my iMac I will have the same problem when porting library from PC to Mac.
    This also happen when I tried to export my library to my new computer using a copy in an external hard disk.
    In iTunes I see all songs correctly labeled with artist, album and cover.
    How could I arrange this?

    Finally solved.  If you have this problem try this:

    It worked for my, now when i connect to my iTunes librari from the iPad, I can see all artists.
    I guess library was corrupted.

  • User can see all resources, not only Permitted for his/her Organization

    I have set three self-serviceable resources as Permitted Resources for a specific organization. So if I click on Permitted Resources for that organization I can see only those three...
    When an user of that organization clicks on Request New Resources, all self-serviceable resources are listed to the user, not only the Permitted Resources. I thought the user could see only the permitted resources...
    If I log as sys admin and Request Resources for an user of this organization, I can see only the three permitted resources.

    Sorry, but I do not understand your last reply. You mentioned the following:
    for option B, even when option A is unchecked, you can set self-request only for a specific organization when assign permitted resources.
    Isnt this what you wanted? You should set the resource as permitted resources in all the organizations whose users can request that resource. I have implemented this and it works just fine. It works for both types of requests. a) My resources -> request new resources and b) Requests -> Resources -> Grant resources.
    In case of b, depending on the organization to which the selected user belongs, the Resource is displayed. all resources are not displayed.
    So the solution is to uncheck in RO and put the resource under specific organizations permitted resources and make it self-requestable. It should work fine. Let me know your exact issue if it does not work this way.

    How to prevent certain users to see only resource objects request-able based on their user profile
    Employees :
    Employee A: Finance staff
    Employee B: IT staff
    Resource Objects :
    Resource Object 1 : Oracle E business suite
    Resource Object 2 : Payment Gateway
    Resource Object 3 : Server X
    Resource Object 4 - 10 : Customer Service Applications.
    Expected :
    Employee A only see and able to request Resource Object 1 & Resource Object 2, while employee B only see and able to request Resource Object 3.
    And they are not able to see and request Resource Object 4 - 10.
    Can that be done, if so please suggest some ways, appreciate the help.

    Hey, you can do this through Organizations. Follow the following steps:
    1) Create an Organization say 'Finance Staff' and put all the users for this category in this organization.
    2) In the similar fashion create another Organization say 'IT staff' and put all the users for this category in this organization.
    3) Now open Organization details for above two and select the 'Permitted Resources' drop down frm additional details.
    4) Assign the resources as per your requirements for these two oragnizations.
         Finance Staff -> 'Permitted Resources' -> 'Oracle E business suite' and 'Payment Gateway'
         IT Staff -> 'Permitted Resources' -> 'Server X' and '10 : Customer Service Applications'
    5) Also remember to de-select the 'Allow All' check box in the respective resources above to discourage everyone from requesting and making a decision for allowing the user to create requests through organizations.
    You are done.

  • HT1473 Often times when I copy a CD into my library it breaks the CD into more than one Album, all with the same name but with only a few of the songs on each. This happens whenever the CD has music with more than one artists...like maybe duets.

    Usually this is because there might be songs where the artists has other artists in the song.
    How can I compile all of the different albums (all with the same name by the way) back into one as was the original disc?

  • Loaded itunes on a new computer, and synced ipad.  Now only those few songs I had on the ipad are in my library.  But all of my ipods (3) have my full music library.  How do i get all my songs moved back into my library from one of my ipods?

    I installed itunes on a new laptop, with Windows 8, and synced my ipad.  Now my music library has only those few songs I had synced to the ipad, or roughly a quarter of my original library.  My ipods (all three) still have the full library, but everytime I try to sync them, I am asked if I want to delete all of the contents and replace with the (much smaller) itunes library.  Of course I don't, but how do I "reverse sync" and replace all the music contents of my library with the contents from one of my ipods?

    If they are iTunes purchases that you bought on your phone then have you copied them over from it to your computer's iTunes ? If that is the computer that you sync the phone to then you should be able to copy them over by connecting it and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. Or (depending upon what country that you are in) you might be able to redownload them directly on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.
    In terms of your account's balance, have you tried logging out of your account on your computer (Store > Sign Out menu option) and then logging back in (it will change to a Store > Sign In option) and seeing if your balance changes ?

    Hi just wanted to let you know I solved most of my XP problems with my new IPOD. It won't recognise the IPOD or driver and froze and locked up and then the battery died. After hours of trying different things here is what I did. I completly closed computer down. Waited 15 minutes turned on and reloaded everything. I put the usb cable in but not hooked up to IPOD. I turned off Mcaffee (all of it). After my computer came on. I then went and closed everything I didn't need in the bottom toolbar. (taskbar). I then reloaded the software and waited. Took forever to reload and I don't know why but whatever it worked but I DID NOT HOOK UP THE IPOD LIKE IT SAID! I instead shut down the computer after loading the software and waited 5 minutes and turned it back on. I again waited and shut of mcaffee. It loaded everything fine this time and said new hard ware and drivers detected. I plugged my IPOD in and YES I WAS UP AND RUNNING (THIS IS AFTER 6 HOURS OF PLAYING WITH OTHER THINGS!) I am able to load and play, burn, watch movies, see pictures and everything your suppose too! The only thing I see different than the instructions is I left my usb cable plugged in and when it said to eject the disk I didn't. I also didn't plug in the IPOD (5th Gen) and then I shut down waited and then restarted the computer. I hope this helps others because I know the feeling of wanting to return something you paid dearly for and worked hard at saving money to buy one and it doesn't work. My only thing I dislike about apple is they didn't supply a ac adapter for the IPOD and the instructions say to plug it up when trying to charge battery. DUHHHHHH, ya can't do that if ya don't have one and stores are closed and won' open until Monday! But at least I am up and running. I just hate having to plug up IPOD to computer daily to charge the battery which only last a half a day1
