I have msi pm8pm-v morther board, problem is the main board doesn't support single sided 1 gb modules...anyone knows on how to enable the module for sigle sided 1gb memory?

You cannot do much about it. It is a chipset rather than a BIOS Limitation.

Mac Mini Server Doesn't Support Duel Thunderbolt Displays!
I purchased a mac mini server with the intent of ultimately running two thunderbolt displays off of it. I pre-ordered in August, waited six weeks for it to arrive and realized that the mac mini server that I had been sent was a lemon. I applied for a replacement, which was built in China and it arrived two weeks later. Everything was going great - I had my mac mini server running a thunderbolt and I was thrilled! Yesterday however, I purchased my second thunderbolt display, connected it and nothing happened. Trouble shooting didn't help. Finally, I called apple and was told that the server version doesn't support duel thunderbolt displays! I had read all of the technical specifications and there was no mention (at that time) that the server couldn't support duel displays. I am now in the process of returning my mac mini server in exchange for a custom build mac mini with upgraded 2.7 GHz i7 processors and 8GB RAM. I'm really disappointed to have to be going through all of these extra steps just to realize the system that I imagined early on. I checked the Apple Thunderbolt display options page at apple and they have now posted that the server doesn't support duel displays (but that informaiton definitely was not there when I first read it!). Why would the server version not support duel displays? To me, it doesn't make any sense. What are your thoughts?
It doesn't support dual TB displays because it uses the integrated
Intel graphics HD 3000. Only discrete graphics cards can handle
dual TB displays. The integrated graphics chip just cant handle
the load.
As for the logic of it, as servers, they are usually single display
and even more often are run headless and managed remotely.
It is marketed as a server and thus the logic. -
Why Java Web Start doesn't support Pack200 out-of-the-box?
Hello All,
Why Java Web Start doesn't support Pack200 out-of-the-box? I was hoping that Java 6 would make things easier by adding direct support for Pack200 in Java Web Start and JNLP without needing to use servlets, etc.? All my clients are Java 5 or above so I can't push the Pack200 compressed version of the jar to every single one of them and there is no selection process needed. But I can't do it because of the servlet or complex Apache server setup requirement (it would be a headache to get customers' web server admins to set up Apache or whatever web server that way).
My question is why is there unwillingness to add Pack200 support directly to Java Web Start and JNLP so that you can start Pack200 compressed jars just like you would start any jar using Java Web Start? Is te a technical problem?

Hp p1005 driver doesn't support duplex
The driver for my HP LaserJet P1005 (version 1.4.0) doesn't support the manual duplex option that was available under previous version of the OS. This behavior exhibits in all applications. Have tried deleting, adding, resetting print system. Other printers seem fine. Installed via USB.

I doubt that another PPD file will work. Your printer does not have a mechanical duplex unit. Any duplex output must be done in software that is usable for all printers or is specifically part of the manufacturer's software for your printer model.
Remember also that your printer is a very dumb printer. It has to have its firmware sent to it each and every time it is turned on. You will not be able to just use any driver that contains a provision for duplex.
But you are spot on, for the current driver. Generic print only. I've p,ayed around with some of the other HP drivers, but get worse (no print at all) results. So I'm hoping the CUPS solution will work. Just missing a few things yet.
Your best bet is if an older version of the HP software is usable in Mavericks. Failing an older version working, you would seem to be left with only the chance that the PDF workflow that HP provides will work for you. -
Sun Java System Messaging Server doesn't support some ISO 8859 charsets

I couldn't find any link to report bugs on the Sun Java System Messaging Server, so i guess i'll report it here:
Sun Java System Messaging Server currently doesn't support the ISO 8859-13 charset, which is the standard charset in the Baltic states. When a person recieves an email in that charset, every non-ASCII character in the message becomes absolutely unreadable when displayed in this webmail application.
This has been tested with this version of the product:

Furthermore, you can test the case by yourself using this link: http://www.lietuvybe.org/testas/. You can enter your e-mail address there to get a few sample messages in Baltic and Cyrillic charsets. You will see that the Sun Java System Messaging Server passes all those tests except this particular one. So, it's a very nice product. :)
It would be very very very cool if Sun would fix this small, but very important issue.

The reason i'm a bit sad is about the policy of others:
First, i am not a provider of that webmail service i'm talking about. A big Lithuanian company is. Personally, I rarely use webmail apps at all, and even when i do, i use an app i internationalized myself. :). Meanwhile, i install Horde IMP as a webmail application for my small servers, and i'm satisfied with it.
The problem i described is literally not my problem. It's a problem of that big Lithuanian company mentioned above (and the users of its webmail system). I suppose this company does have that account already and, furthermore, they are the ones who should post to this forum or file a support request., and they are the ones who should be worried about that bug. However, reality differs. In reality, big companies in Lithuania don't care about correctness of their webmail apps too much. However, there are a few maniacs like me who do. We test their webmail apps, we contact them and describe them their problems and ask them to fix those problems. Sometimes, they do that, but in most cases we either don't get a reply at all, or we get something like "we'll take a look at it later". For example, lately, we had an issue with one of the most popular webmail providers in Lithuania skipping a MIME-version header. Fixing this issue is just a single line of code. However, we had to push them annoyingly for kinda few months until they finally fixed it.
That was the first aspect.
The second is that i don't really like to create hundreds of accounts for myself just to ocasionally report bugs like this one. If only Sun would let me to simply file a bug, and forget that, i would gladly do it. But no, i have to find a deeply hiden support page, then fill a form, create myself an account and a password, then log on, then fill some misterious support request... Do I have to do that for a company that won't even consider thanking me? I think that's too much. Furthermore, every party on the net enforces it's own username and password restrictions. That sucks too. I wish i could just log on as "rq" everywhere like this forum, using the same password i could easily remember. However, i have to use "rq", "er-ku" or "erku" or "rq@something" as my username on different platforms, and sometimes even my (long enough) password is not accepted. It's hard to track such accounts, and in most cases like this one, i don't really want to have an account at all, as i'm just passing by.
To summarize the post: I'm NOT a licenced user, and all I wanted was to file a bug, which affects licenced users and ordinary people.

Why MBA (Mid - 2013) doesn't support with Bose Headphones for Audio Input
I just bought two MBA 11(mid - 2013) and MBA 13 (mid - 2013) two week ago and I found out that it doesn't support bose audio headphone (MIE2i mobile headphone) for audio input. So I am having experience for audio input with it. When I am having skype or recording, the voice go slient if i use that headphone as external microphone. All of my friends who are skyping with me can't heard my voice if i am doing skype with my MBA. Audio output is fine though, you can hear as usual in headphones. Internal microphone works though, but it is not good for privacy though.
Thus, I went to apple store (Five ave) to trouble shoot about it, they said that is because Bose has noise cancelling, (BUT Bose MIE2i doesn't have noise cancelling though). They gave me two ear buds of apple ipod (one is outdate version & another one is latest version - that representative sucked, because she doesn't value the customer, she gave me outdate ear-buds, but i didn't urge with 3 dollars ear-buds), apple ear-bud works for audio input and output, however apple ipod ear buds are suck, it hurts the ears all time if you wear for 1 hrs. that's why I use quality headphone such as Bose headphones. Unfortunately, my bose headphone is not compatible at all.
Is there any one having experiences with audio input with your headphones when you are using skype or audio recording. Which headphone is compatible with your MBA for input/output?The MacBook Air has a single headphone port. my wireless key board doesn't seem to communication with my computer even though bluetooth shows it is connected. I have changed the batteries on the keyboard and when turn on the key board the green lights comes on shortly and disappears. Can any one help?

K9VGM-V (VIA K8M890) doesn't support 8800GT (PCIE 2.0)
I've heard that some Gigabyte and Asrock motherboards based on the VIA K8M880 chipset doesn't support PCI Express 2.0, even though 2.0 should be backwards compatible with 1.0a motherboards!
Yesterday when I put together my system, with a K9VGM-V (bios ver 1.7) and a Asus 8800GT the computer booted (all the way into Windows) with no signal from the video card. the fan was spinning at 100%, the exact same symptoms of the PCI2.0 problem. It worked fine with the onboard card.
Even after cleared CMOS, disabled onboard vga and a lot of different troubleshooting and BIOS settings, I gave up.
Could it be that the VIA K8M890 also suffers from the same problems as the K8M880 boards, no compatibility with any PCIE 2.0 cards? If so, why isn't it mentioned anywhere?
As far as I know the only solution is to flash the graphics card bios with a PCIE GEN1 bios. Luckily ASUS supplies their own BIOS, so I don't have to use another brand's bios. Does anyone know if I'm on the right track here, or if the card should work without a flash?
and maybe MSI is planning a BIOS update for this motherboard to support this card? I'm guessing the next batch of 8800GTS's also won't work, as those are PCIE2.0 as well!

That seems pretty obvious, don't you think? It is a chipset limitation. You will have to contact Asus about getting a suitable bios for that card. Like Aaron Yuri already said: the chipset cannot be changed. -

We have install the Crystal reports 2008 runtime and the Crystal report 2008 sp2.5 runtime. Both of them give me the same results.
It's killing me because i have installed the same solution on many other server without any issue.

P.s. The Web server is a Window Server 2003 R2 standard editionPerhaps using [modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] will at least tell us what dlls are loading. Look at the CR dlls. There should not be any v11 files loaded by your app.
You may also start considering obtaining phone support for this one. I have a feeling this will take more than just forums to solve...

Iwlist scanning gives: Interface doesn't support sc [solved]
When I'm trying to scan for all available networks I get:

My wireless card works fine if I set every parameter manually. I'm currently using the orinoco drivers that came along with ArchLinux.
It seems like that the version of the orinoco drivers installed doesn't support the scan stuff. But building the new orinoco drivers failed with

So I did try the wlan-ng26 driver downloaded and installed with pacman.
I remove the orinoco modules with

I installed the 0.15RC1 version of the Orinoco drivers found here.
I rebooted but I still had the 0.13 version. I did a make and make install as the readme file said.

do you use a PKGBUILD?
update the driver: if it was copied to the right place and the kernel knows about it (depmod -a) it should work
for a start, check under
ls -la /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/
that your module is installed under the correct location (the orinoco files should be newer than the other ones)
if this is so, make sure you are depmod -a (as root) ... and if even this is ok, then either you are running the new modules or something strange happened -
Mavric doesn't support my 5 years old Big Screen Display, OR? Tried to connect my Mac Book Pro after installing Mavric, The Screen didn't work as before. I could only see the Desktop but not the movies for example.

I of course am assuming here you didn't use Disk Utility to format the drive first before installing, that would wipe out your files and programs for sure.
So what to do, what to do.
Well there is hope for you as long as the drive wasn't Filevaulted.
I'll explain. When a hard drive writes data for the first time to a drive, it starts at the very top and works it's way down.
When OS X was installed the first time, it was at the top of the drive, unless you upgraded then the upgraded OS X could have been written elsewhere.
Now when you just reinstalled OS X, the new OS went on the top of the drive, overwriting any data that was there previously, so what was there you have lost forever which is about 8GB or so. If it was the previous OS there, then your more in luck because only the old OS X was overwritten.
The remaining space on the drive still can have a copy of your files, provided it's not overwritten yet.
It's because when a hard drive deletes data or reformats, it doesn't remove the data off the drive or overwrites it immediately, it's just made so it's SPACE is available for new files to be written there.
So technically one can recover the deleted data off a non-encrypted/scrubbed hard drive with special software.
The way it does this is it reads the 1's and 0's of the files themselves, and through a lot of figuring out, can tell what that file is and what it belongs too.
So what you will have to do is this:
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
or if you don't have the skills, then take it to a local PC/Mac tech and they can do a direct image of the drive and then you can run Data Rescue on it to rebuild your files. -
3000 J115 7387 - Current BIOS 2NKT31A doesn't support 4gb RAM
I have a Lenovo 3000 Desktop J115 7387-26u and the current BIOS, just downloaded and tested from Lenovo's "support" site, doesn't support 4gb of RAM properly. I have dual 2gb DIMMs, for a total of 4gb, and both Lenovo's PC-Doctor diagnostics and another memory scanner report to me that I have 4gb. See this screen print showing PC-Doctor's RAM report compared to what Windows "sees".
When I boot the system, the BIOS only reports 3006mb RAM is present. Clearly it's recognizing both DIMMs. I've swapped the DIMMs and the results are the same.
Lenovo, PLEASE RELEASE A BIOS that properly supports what the system claims to support!

Two things. First, "just so you know", the Lenovo 3000 J115 7987 is an Athlon 64 X2 (which you would know if you checked the system specs),and second, I'm talking about the BIOS failing to recognize the RAM that the system specs claim it should be recognizing. This is regardless of OS. -

Is it possible to switch off the auto reverse function
Hi, I just bought a new iPod Shuffle. Is it possible to switch of the auto reverse function e.g. that the iPod starts to play from the beginning again after the last song of a playlist is reached? Thanks Sascha
