PMS - 360 Appraisals

Hi,
I have created a 360 degree appraisal template with Template mode as " Make Anonymous When closing with registration".
However, am unable to register the participants via phap_prepare_pa as the 360 degree appraisal template name is not visible in the drop down list. Any ideas to overcome this?

    Hi Folks,
    I need a small help from the experts.   Our Client is going for 360 Appraisals and we have developed the template,now the issue is where to configure the Business Parter -Object Type -BP ,is there any standard workflows provided by SAP.
    Through Tcode BP ,unable to create the businee partner, can we maitain this through any relationship like  A 291  ?
    Pls share ur ideas on this issue.

    Please go to Transaction Code - BUCO
    and pick the sold to party, once you see the blank screen click on small tab which have an arrow underneath it. then just delete the tabs you dont need. If you want them back just pick Sap Standard from the tap menu

  • Is performance apparaisal effective?

    We know that performance apparaisal is the method by which the job performance of an employee is evaluated (generally in terms of quality, quantity, cost, and time) typically by the corresponding manager or supervisor.  It is the process of obtaining, analyzing, and recording information about the relative worth of an employee to the organization. Performance appraisal is an analysis of an employee's recent successes and failures, personal strengths and weaknesses, and suitability for promotion or further training.
    Do you think performance apparaisal is really effective in organizations? How to  use the most effectivelly?

    It is very effective (of course, if done correctly). It takes out the "subjective" part of the "old way of doing things", and puts in place true measures/metrics for evaluating employees.
    It is suppose to alleviate the old example of.....two people are up for the same job/promotion.....person A has great skills and background....person B has fewer skills (even lacking some key ones) but is good friends with the boss.....person B gets this job. SImilarly....and much like the previous example.....person A is up for a review....their boss "thinks" they have done well all year and remembers some projects they helped on and things they talked about in emails/status reports....person A gets a pay raise.......when in fact they did very little to deserve it.
    Also, it allows for 360 appraisals...yes, a manager/boss has a much more clear way to evaluate their direct reports performance....but also, their direct reports can evaluate them as well.
    It's just very nice all around. Not sure what your doubts in it are are why you think it is not effective. You pretty much laid out the text book definition of it but then don't seem to understand what you just wrote.

  • SAP PMS with Sharepoint UI

    Hi,
    Currently we are evaluating various design options for Performance management. The client has invested heavily in sharepoint and is leaning towards sharepoint / SAP integrated solution for performance management.
    Option been considered -
    Use SAP performance management configuration to drive appraisals (including workflow and authorizations) and build user interface that runs on Share Point. Effectively replace PMS WDA user interface with Sharepoint.
    We plan to make use of standard SAP function modules (HRHAP*) and build user interface on share point. During our initial study, we think the standard function modules cater to most of our requirements.
    Questions -
    1. Did any of you guys implement performance management using this model. If yes, Can you please share your experience on this from a development time, maintainace perspective etc
    2. What if SAP makes any change to the existing appraisal model? Will this hamper existing objects associated with OSA model? Is there anything in the SAP performance road map that we need to be aware of and that we should consider from a long term perspective. Effectively is SAP planning to stick to and enhance OSA model in the foreseeable future?

    therefore we decide to create different links in sharepoint which will point to SAP portal (ESS POWL,MSS POWL, Goal Cascading etc)

  • Part-appraisers for 360 Feedback

    Hi guys,
    Have anybody ever had to treat different part-appraisers in a 360 feedback process?
    My client needs some different types of part-appraiser: subordinated, pair and internal customer (and also self and manager appraisals). All these “types” of appraiser are represented by P object.
    Then, in their appraisal calibration process, they need to analyze an employee behaviour/competence individually by seeing these different appraisers evaluation.
    The alternative I though was the creation of different sub-status and, by BADI HRHAP00_COL_ACCESS implementation, set columns access based on status/sub-status combination. However, in standard system I have just a generic part appraisal so it would not be enough to a detailed calibration process.
    I’d appreciate if you could give some suggestions and tips.

    Dear Carmen,
    360° feedback is a process & not an iview. You have to define the process template at backend R/3 system & with the help of different iviews available employee can complete the process.

  • PMS Offline Scenario - Download Issue

    Hi,
    I am facing issue in the PMS offline scenario (Download).
    I am executing an standard BSP application (HAP_DOCUMENT) for PMS process.
    In that i tried PMS offline process, download the appraissal form from he BSP page.
    A popup window opens without displaying anything and all of a sudden it get closed.
    But as per the standard scenario whenever an appraisal form is downloaded it will be locked automatically, for me also the form get locked but it was not downloaded.
    I don't know why that popup window getting closed automatically, as that window only shows the option of saving the appraissal form to the local desktop.
    Kindly help me on this to get solved.........

    (Detailed Description of the Issue)
    We are in process of implementing PMS(Performance Management System) Offline Scenario and We are facing issues while implementing.
    We are able to create an appraisal form through the apraisal template "Performance Goal Setting" (TCODE : OOAM). While we are performing the Offline process, downloading the appraisal form from either as Part appraiser or final appraiser,(Normally a popup window will get openned, which will have the option to download form to the local desktop), for us popup window  opens and closed immediately with out showing the option to downlaod the form. And as per the PMS offline scenario whenever an apraisal form is get downloaded, it will be locked (offline lock) automatically (TcODE : PHAP_ADMIN).For us also the form is getting locked (Offline Lock).
    Note : We are executing an standard BSP application.

  • Performance Management/Objective setting and Appraisals - To Hide elements

    Hi All,
    In PMS/Objective setting and Appraisals module, is there any BADI available to Hide elements( Criteria & Criteria group) on Sub status wise. Meaning, suppose i have Substatus A, B, C & D in status "2" ( In planning) and one of the VC element should be hidden in Status = 2 & substatus = A, B. But in "C" & "D" sub stauts it should be visible.
    If BADI is not available then is there any possible way out for the same.

    There is no badi for this, it slipped of radar during the development of the hide element functionality.
    The only why to achieve the same would be by having a customer own UI and control it on UI level, but its an ugly way which I do not recommend.

  • Predefined PMS Templates Infotypes or Table

    Hi,
    We are in the process of implementing talent management. We are also using predefined performance management for appraisals.
    Even after the appraisal is completed (SAP status is closed approved), the appraisal rating is not getting saved in IT 7409.
    Since its predefined PMS, the appraisal template is created via wizard and it is working fine according to the standard process. Is there something else which needs to be done/activated to save the appraisal rating in IT 7409?
    Please tell me some one where this predefined templates will store with all status, i mean infotye number or table name.

    Hi,
    The pre-defined is using the infrastructure of the appraisal engine and as such all data is stores in objects va, vb, vc. And although they have infotypes assigned you cannot / should not look at them directly but us transaction phap_catalog instead.
    The pre-defined templates cannot be changed in this transaction but displayed, go to the VA level, Processing tab, and then at the bottom you find follow processes. Make sure Performance / performance and potential update in TMC is ticked.
    When this is not the case you have missed a setting in the template configuration. When it is set, just place a break point in the badi to see where it goes wrong. According to the coding in the implemetation there is no special setting needed (but i just skimmed it quickly over)

    PMS in sap HCM is for performance Management System.
    The role of the consultant here will be to create the appraisal Templates.
    PMS based on OSA( objective settings and Appraisal) has few standard switches that have to be activated.
    based on the requirement of the client we can create different appraisal templates.
    the T code is PHAP_catalog using this T code one can have the templates created for learning solutions as well
    T code PHAP_CATALOG_PA is used exclusively for personnel appraisals.
    in this we have to create the new category and template as per the clients requirement.
    once the template is created we have to release the same to activate the template.
    once released we will not be allowed to make any changes to the template once activated
    to view the status of the released template we can use the T code PHAP_admin.
    (honestly this is just a brief of what can happen in PMS. there is lots more)

  • Part appraiser in flexible PMS

    Dear All,
    Need your expert advise on flexible PMS process. We are implementing flexible PMS in EHP4 for a client. There is a requirement to send appraisal document to part appraiser after self review is done. We have defined status sub status as per this requirement. However part appraisal process is starting before self appraisal process in system. How to change and send part apparaisal docuemnt first to appraisee  and then to part appraiser.

    Before the start of review phase, after mangager submits ratings & comments if he wants to add a new Part appraiser (Reviewer) - configure a new button which on selection the workflow goes to the HR / Appraisal administrator.
    HR / Appraisal administrator should read the comments of Appraiser to add an additional Part appraiser (reviewer) * they should do the same in the backend using PHAP_ADMIN transaction. They can manually add them in edit mode of the particular appraisal document. Later, on submission by them the appraisal dicument should proceed to the review Phase.
    This method is an workaround as their is no add option to appear in the appraisal document either by means of a BADI or by any development.
    Note:- If you are using part appraisals then in 'In Proces' (final) phase - the first substatus or review should be done by Part Appraisers. Then onlt the status flow & Radio buttons will behave / appear correctly.

    I have configured OSA and 360 degree appraisals. But I am not sure as to how is the process flow. I could see something called Workflow event in template level configuration in status flow. Please throw some light on this.
    Could anybody please explain about workflow. And also, how these documents are available to employees via ESS and MSS.

  • Appraisals & training and event management problem

    Hi gurus.
    I'm trying to configured the integration between Appraisal and Training & Event management (Appraising a Business Event and Attendee Appraisal
    I set an attribute HAP00 REPLA = A .
    But two problems occurred.
    1.
    The definition of Appraisal catalog for employees is no problem. But I have a problem with definition of Appraisal catalog for Business event and for Attendees.
    Through the definition of Appraisal catalog via SPRO (Training and Event Management/Recurring Activities/Appraisals/Edit Appraisals Catalog) its possible to create an appraisal templates only for employees (it looks like that, because there is only Category group Personnel Appraisals and it’s not possible to add new category for example Attendee Appraisal).
    Can somebody help me where I can define appraisal templates for Event management or how can I get the Appraisal catalog category groups - Appraising a Business Event and Attendee Appraisal?
    2.
    I set the attributes SEMIN EVAEV/EVAPA to the values 2/3 in connection with table T77BF.
    When I run tcode PV33 or PV34 the matchcode of appraisal templates contains the list of all object type VA. The problem is that when I run tcode PV33 I don’t want to see all appraisal templates, but only for appraising a Business Event.
    It is possible to configure that so? If yes, how.
