PMS swatch converted to CMYK does not match colour values of Pantone Colour Book

I am working in Adobe Illustrator CS6 and InDesign CS6.
When I create a swatch using Pantone colour books (solid coated) and then convert the swatch to CMYK the values differ between programs and also differ to my hard copy of Pantone Colour Bridge.
I have followed the Workaround 1 on http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/pantone-plus.html#main-pars_text_11 which was helpful - now the CMYK values produced in Illustrator and InDesign match HOWEVER they still differ from my hard copy of Pantone Colour Bridge.
I copied the leagacy files from CS4 - is it possible the CMYK values embedded in these files are out of date or is it possible that the CMYK values in the Colour Bridge book have since changed?

Pantone has updated their CMYK match values for PMS colors over time, and so has Adobe.  Adobe and pantone have their own values or matches, so they have never matched.
The values between CS6 Illustrator and InDesign should have matched (atleast the files are named exactly the same), so not sure going back to CS4 swatches wasa a good move for you, unless you have a load of older files you are trying to match.
The biggest differences between updates to the swatch colors you will see in tradeoffs between CMY & K.
If you want your CMYK matches for PMS colors to match your bridge book, you may have to manually make a color book .ase file yourself, or try downloading the pantone color manager. Pantone has made this a complicated, multistep process relying on registering a product. Pantone has a history of failed digital products, and using bait & swtich tactics, so do not trust anything they have to offer anymore, but they were in the right place at the right time and exist as the standard for spot color in the US & some other countries.

    posted on the web page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/securityupdate2008006clientppc.html
I've downloaded the file more than once but I get the same SHA1 value each time. I get this value:
    7b3aed47dbad3d55d90d093a6fb7a81c34c22a2c
The disk image mounts but I'm reluctant to install a security update (or anything else) that does match the posted SHA1 value.
Is the value posted on the web page wrong and the one I've gotten from the downloaded file correct or am I getting a corrupted/modified disk image?

Thanks for looking into this. As fas as I am concerned it is no corporate or school network. I have downloaded the file at home from my personal internet connection. This is a DSL connection that runs through a DSL router. My computer is connected directly to the router via ethernet cable. There is a firewall (packet filter) in place but nothing (that I know of) that modifies download files.
I have never had such problems before with this internet connection. And I have downloaded quite a lot of updates from Apple's web site with this connection and always checked the sha1 digest.
I just downloaded the security update at the company I am working for. So this is a corporate network. I got the same sha1 digest as before at home. Not sure if this helps.

  • Net Price does not match Net Value / Qty

In my pricing procedure we have a custom routine for a freight & duty condition so change to an alternative condition base value.
The issue is the the Net Value (KOMV-KBETR) & KOMP-NETWR/qty  does not match the Net price (VBAP-NETPR).
The Net price is the total as if the alternative condition base value was not taken into account.
How do we ensure the Net price (VBAP-NETPR) is the same as the Net Value (KOMP-NETWR/qty )

Please check  what you have in the FROM column of your Freight condition type in your pricing procedure. Please make it blank if any value is maintained there
Also it will be helpful if you can provide what is the logic maintained in the alt cond base value formula, which sub total you are reading in the logic, What all subtotals available in your pricing procedure and how they are assigned.

  • Sales Order Net Price does not match full value of items

    Hi,
In many cases and for some materials, our system does a funny thing.
When creating the sales order from VA01, you'll enter 2 items.
    1 is priced $2000
    2 is priced $5000
Net price should be $7000 (no discounts or fees).
However, in many cases the net price will be shown as something else (like $6000 or $4000), until you hit save or re-price or go the conditions tab (which shows the correct net price) and back.
We have a lot of pricing customization in our system, so this is definitely due to that.
I am a developer, so where would be a good place to look?
    Thanks,
    Shaun

    Thanks.
I'll have to discuss VTAA pricing types with the Business Analyst, since there are many records and I'm not sure what I'm looking at.
In regards to your second point, it's not in calculation. It'll stay at that number until you save, check the conditions tab in the header or reprice the document.
What's interesting is that it doesn't do this for all materials.
    For example:
    Material 1 - priced $25
    Material 2 - priced $25
Net price would be $50, which is correct.
But say we use Material 3 - priced $25 as well. For this one, the total net price could show up as $30.
Can pricing types be specific to materials or material groups? What is the pricing type exactly and why 'A'?

  • Java for OS X Lion 2012-003 SHA 1 digest does not match posted value

I've downloaded the latest Java update ( http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1515 ) several times and I always get the same sha1 digest which is different from the one posted on the download page.
    The one I get is:
    SHA1: 4e6fce49e9a3e07533398af8d8b0327136feead5
    The one posted is:
    SHA1: f3a37aaeace6731c427c76b277c8741d9d6e0220
    Anyone having the same problem?
    Cheers.

Thanks guys. It was kind of odd as even after reseting Safari I was still getting the old sha1 value but on my iPad I was getting the correct one. The MBP is using Google's public DNS servers and my iPad is using the ones provided by my ISP.
As of a couple of minutes ago I get the correct SHA1 value on my MBP as well so the update probably took a few minutes to get through Google's DNS servers.
And just to prove I wasn't going mad

    Hi ,
We have enabled context sensitive DFF in Bank Branch Page for HZ_PARTIES DFF , We have created Flex Map so that only bank branch context fields are only displayed in the bank branch page and  as we know party information DFF is shared by supplier and Customer Page so we dint want to see any Bank Branch fields or context information in those pages.
We have achieved the requirement but when open existing branches bank branch update is throwing below error message :

  • When a video is taken in Photo Booth, the sound does not match up

When trying to take a video on photobooth, the sound does not match up with the image when the video is played back. What can I do to fix this?

Check your footage interpretation, split the audio in an external program, convert the sample rate and import it separately or whatever. Most likely you simply have used unsuitable recording settings with odd sample and data rates.

  • In AE CS6, the sound does not match with video

    Hi,
I would like to ask a question. I have AE CS6, and I recorded a gameplay video with Avermedia Live Gamer HD. The format of this video is .mp4. When I import the .mp4 into the program, the sound does not match. On the original video, when i play with VLC or WMP, all things are good, and when i import, the sound does not good. What causes this problem, and can I do something to solve this?
    Thanks the answers, R3dLinE

  • SSIS OLE DB Data Source: literal does not match format string

    Dear All,
this is my first post on this forum, so sorry if I choose wrong category for this question, but I stuck...
I'm using SSIS from SQL Server 2k8 R2 in Windows Server 2k8 R2. I have installed Oracle Client 10.2.0.2 32 bits and Oracle Client 10.2.0.4 64bits. I want to connect to Oracle 8i and Oracle 9i by these clients.
Unfortunately when I want to see a preview, only error occurs to me:
ORA-01861: literal does not match format string (OraOLEDB)
I have read a lot about this issue but nothing helps me (to_date, cast, convert etc.).
This is query which I use:
    SELECT COMPANYID, TRANSACTIONTYPE, TRANSACTIONDATE,
    PRODUCT, PRODUCTIONSITE, BATCHNUMBER,
    BINNUMBER, QUANTITYSTOCKUNIT, QUANTITY,

AND TRANSACTIONDATE < '99991231'I have investigated that the problem is with TRANSACTIONDATE column (which is VARCHAR2 data type in database).
I want also inform You that the same query in SSIS 2005 on Windows 2005 64 bits worked fine.
Could You help me to find a solution?

    Regards,

    Hi George,
I have another question for you.  I have a column that is titled "City"  Intitally I wanted to be able to enter in the name of the city into one field and it auto populate the other fields with the same name.  Since I'm new to PDF forms I thought I would just copy and paste the same field multiple times so once I enter in the name in the first field it would fill in the rest of the fields with the same name.  This works, but in some cases I need one or two of the fields to be different and allow me to edit the name.  As you can expect every time I edit one field it changes the name for all the fields.  So my question is; Is there a way to have the column auto populate the same name that enter in the first field, but allow me to change the fields below if I need to?
Here is a rough idea of what I'm trying to do
    City
    CityRow1
    CityRow2
    CityRow3
    CityRow4
    This is what I had
    City
    CityRow1 - Kansas City
    CityRow1 - Kansas City
    CityRow1 - Kansas City
    CityRow1 - Kansas City
I would like the form to initially auto populate the city to save time, but if I have an instance where its in a different city I need to be able to change the value of only that particular field.
    City
    CityRow1 - Kansas City
    CityRow2 - Kansas City
    CityRow3 - Lawrence
    CityRow4 - Kansas City
Again I appreciate all you help thus for. Thanks again!

  • DBMS_CRYPTO MD5 hash value does not match 3rd party MD5 free tool

    Hello,
I am using Oracle Version: 11.2.4.
I have a problem where the MD5 value from DBMS_CRYPTO does not match the hash value from 3rd party MD5 free tool (MD5 Checksum Calculator 0.0.5.58 or WinMD5Free v1.20) and also the MD5 hash value calculated by an ingestion tool where I am transferring files to. The MD5 hash value that the ingestion tool calculates is the same as the 3rd party MD5 free tools I have. And in that thread (Re: MD5 HASH computed from DBMS_CRYPTO does not match .NET MD5 I provided the reason why DBMS_CRYPTO may not match hashes produced by other methodologies.
I have no idea why you copied and posted all of that Java code the other poster and I provided since code has NOTHING to do with the problem you say you are having. Thte other poster's question was how to write Java code that would produce the same result as DBMS_CRYPTO.
You said your problem was understanding why DBMS_CRYPTO 'does not match the hash value from 3rd party MD5 free tool ...'. and I answered that in the other forum.
    >
The Crypto package always converts everything to AL32UTF8 before hashing so if the .NET character set is different the hash will likely be different.
See DBMS_CRYPTO in the PL/SQL Packages and Types doc
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28419/d_crypto.htm
If you look at the spec header for the DBMS_CRYPTO package it shows this note:
-- Prior to encryption, hashing or keyed hashing, CLOB datatype is
-- converted to AL32UTF8. This allows cryptographic data to be
-- transferred and understood between databases with different
-- character sets, across character set changes and between
-- separate processes (for example, Java programs).
-- If your 3rd party MD5 free tool (MD5 Checksum Calculator 0.0.5.58 or WinMD5Free v1.20) do not use the AL32UTF8 character set then the hashes will likely be different. You can't modify DBMS_CRYPTO so if the hashes need to match you need to use 3rd party tools that either use the correct character set or can be configured to use the correct character set.
The problem in the other thread was how to WRITE Java code that uses the correct character set and I showed that OP how to do that.
So unless you are writing your own Java code all of that code you copied and pasted is useless for your use case.

Thanks for the reply but my syntax is correct.
    t_checksum := lower(RAWTOHEX(dbms_crypto.hash(src=>l_clob,typ=>dbms_crypto.hash_md5)));
The typ argument tells dbms_crypto what type of hash value to produce.
This is from the Oracle Docs:
Table 24-3 DBMS_CRYPTO Cryptographic Hash Functions
    Name      Description
HASH_MD4 Produces a 128-bit hash, or message digest of the input message
HASH_MD5 Also produces a 128-bit hash, but is more complex than MD4
HASH_SH1 Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA). Produces a 160-bit hash.
    for further details see: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/d_crypto.htm#i1002022

My Observations: Task Actual Start Date is a date column in SQL Server 2008, the column imported in obiee Physcial layer as Varchar(10). So i converted the column as Date in Physical layer.
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi Pradeep,
One or more rows in 'Task Actual Start Date' does not have date time format which is why you will be getting this error. You may have to fix this at data level to get rid off this error.
To test, apply a filter to see 5-10 rows of data, it should work fine as you would have excluded that data.
    Pls mark if correct/helpful.
