Png to PDF

have created numerous files in a png form, a combination of
pictures (jpg)
and text. The background it black, lettering is yellow and
have been
coverting to pdf via the Acrobat 9.
The colors seem to lose vibrancy in both the text and the
pictures...is
there a cure for this, should I convert to another file
format then to
PDF...
We are sending these out to be printed and they require file
format to be
PDF.
Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Mail app not showing some png and pdf attachments.

    I'm using the iPhone 4s and recently, both mobileme and yahoo email accounts are not showing some png and pdf attachments. I'm seeing the attachment is there, but it doesn't load. Load remote images is turned on in settings. Does anyone have the same problem and a solution/explanation?

    My work email account is an IMAP account.
    I removed my work email account on my home computer this morning to test out this problem on my computer at work. I just sent a test message to my work account from my iPhone. My iPhone, iPad and computer at work still have my work email active on them and all the devices are showing the test message as new and unread. The problem seems to be that when I have my work email activated on my home computer, the messages do not show new and unread on the rest of my devices.

  • Png to pdf needs huge magnification

    When I try to convert a png to pdf in Acrobat 8, the resulting image needs (like) 10,000x zoom. What do I do?
    I've attached an example.

    I don't really have a proper graphic editor, but I've tried to resave the png file attached above as another png, as a bmp, and as a jpeg, with my 'Paint' program (on Windows 7). When I open these files with my Windows Photo Viewer, they all look normal, but trying to convert to pdf, either through a right-click on the file, or through Acrobat itself, it's still resulting in a tiny image in the middle of the screen, at a huge magnification. Is there something wrong with whatever it is that is converting these files?

  • JPEG, PNG, TGA, PDF changes hex color from PSD

    I work for a company where the CEO is very into brand colors. He has the hex values of all the branded colors memorized. One of the branded colors is blue ( hex: 0039a6 ). Obviously, if he looks at my psd and samples a the color, it will display 0039a6.
    However, whenever I save it out as a: jpg, tga, png, or pdf, the color's hex value will change to 1f419b. If he samples from one of those files, crisis! Wrong branded color!
    I've made 2 layers and filled with with both colors and as far as I can tell, they are exactly the same to the eye, even if they're overlapping. So I just want to know why this happens so I can explain myself if he ever runs over to my desk.
    Thanks!

    Oh right, this is happening with Photoshop and Illustrator, which is why is didn't post on an individual programs forums. I forgot to add that to my previous post. Do you recommend that I post in both the Photoshop and Illustrator sections?
    Edit: I did more tests. If I use the branded color 0039a6 in Illustrator and save it out as a png, tga, jpeg, pdf, and I then open one of those exported files in Photoshop, the hex value has changed.
    If I use the branded color in Photoshop, exporting a png keeps the color as the correct hex value. JPG doesn't, which makes sense due to compression. So now the question is, why are the files I'm exporting from Illustrator and opening in Photoshop showing different hex values. You would assume that the pngs should be okay from both Photoshop and Illustrator?

  • Hello, is there a way to export or save layers from Indesign to separate png or pdf -files?

    Hello, is there a way to export or save layers from Indesign to separate png or pdf -files? I have a Indesign document with serveral layers and I need them as separate png files.
    I know that is is possible with Illustrator but can't find it for Indesign.
    Thanks a lot.

    The script Peter's noting is in #122 here:
    how to export indesign layers to photoshop layers (same structure)
    It is OSX only and exports PDFs for creating Photoshop layers. The exported PDFs get trashed so if you can use AppleScript I can edit out the Photoshop part post a version that only saves the PDFs

  • Screenshots save as png not pdf

    Screenshots (using shift+apple+4) save as png files instead of pdf.
    Png blows; they're fuzzy, unreadable and generally makes the handiness of screenshot a waste of time
    Someone suggested using the new GRAB feature but it's no better.
    Anyone know how to get a fast, crisp screenshot that is actually usable.
    I'm using CS3 Mac OSX v10.5.2
    BRING BACK SCREENSHOTS AS PDF....PLEASE!

    Linda;
    There's a great maintenance app called Onyx: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11582
    Once you install the software, open Onyx and under the Parameters menubar option, you will see on the right hand side an option called "Screen Capture Format". There you can select almost a dozen formats, one of them being PDF. Save the setting, close the application and you should be able to save all your screen capture shots in PDF format. This app is free. Cheers.

  • Trouble converting multiple JPGs/PNGs to PDF

    I'm using the education version of Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.3 on Windows Vista; when I try doing something very simple, namely selecting a group of image files (JPG and PNG, scanned pages from a book), right clicking to select "combine into PDF document," the result is one page which looks just fine, and the remaining pages look like grey, blown-up collages of the original images. When I try each page by itself (thinking I could later combine the resulting PDFs into a single PDF document), all image files except the first one come out looking the same--as if someone had blown up the image, overlayed numerous sections of the blown up image, and then grayed the whole thing out. The same problem happens when I try doing either from inside Adobe Acrobat instead of right-clicking on the image(s).
    I have found a workaround, namely, to select all the images in the folder I wish to export, and right-click, select "print" and allow Acrobat to print from the resulting Windows Photo Gallery Viewer. But it's slow--and raises the question, why can't my Acrobat program just do this on its own? In addition, I presume that the workaround adds a step which means the resulting PDF is not as clean as the PDF would be if it had been created directly by Acrobat (e.g., there would be no additional margins etc.).
    The reason that I'm using both JPGs and PNGs is that, when I tweak a JPG, I save it as a PNG in an attempt to keep the image somewhat "lossless."
    Any suggestions or people familiar with this problem?
    I tried having Acrobat clean up its installation, but all that did was eliminate the trash can from my desktop.
    Thanks ahead of time to anyone who could help.

    I have not tried BMP files, but do JPeg, GIF, TIFF, and PNG files regularly. I simply open Acrobat, then select the graphics files in explorer and drag & drop to Acrobat. I then organize the graphics if needed (using the pages tab) and save to a PDF.

  • Differences between legend in png and pdf output

    Hello,
    i noticed that there is a difference in the legend output of a transparent color style between a png and a pdf output in MapViewer version Ver11_B071001.
    Lets say i have a sytle with 50% opacity like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <svg width="1in" height="1in">
      <desc/>
      <g class="color" style="stroke:#00CC00;stroke-width:2.0;fill:#00CC00;fill-opacity:127">
        <rect width="50" height="50"/>
      </g>
    </svg>If the mapresponse is a png, the style is displayed correct in the legend (with 50% opacity).
    In the pdf output the opacity looks like 100%, so no transparency at all.
    The actuall displayed geometries are displayed with the correct opacity, but not in the legend.
    Is there a workaround for this behavior?
    Thanks for help in advance,
    Dirk

    Hi Dirk,
    transparency is not yet supported in all cases for the PDF graphics.

  • Converting all PNG to PDF in a folder

    This sounds like a problem fit for an Automator solution, but I don't know if this is possible:
    Recursively traverse all files in a folder (incl sub folders), finding all PNG files and converting them to PDFs.
    Then finally created a single ZIP file holding the entire source folder.

    GraphicConverter is probably the easiest to use and it is very flexible:
    http://www.lemkesoft.de/en/products/graphicconverter/key-features/batch-conversi on-with-additional-functions/
    For the ultimate in speed and options the more technically minded may wish to install and learn to use ImageMagick:
    http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binary-releases.php#macosx
    GraphicConverter is GUI based and ImageMagick is Terminal command based.
    It may be simplest to manually zip after conversion.
    I am sure you could use AppleScript or Automator but I would explore GraphicConverter first.

  • Png in pdf : acroread bug

    If you put a png image in a pdf (with latex → pdflatex), it works with other viewers (evince, kpdf), but not correctly with acroread.
    Please look at the screenshots :
    evince : http://www.monsterup.com/upload/1212654879.jpg
    kpdf : http://www.monsterup.com/upload/1212655058.jpg
    acroread : http://www.monsterup.com/upload/1212655093.jpg
    Is this bug already reported?
    How to report a bug in your site, you don't have a launchpad-like?

    I added :
    \pdfminorversion 5
    So the generated pdf is pdf 1.5 (seen in pdf properties in acroread).
    But the problem with png files still occurs.
    To resolve the problem, I just remove the alpha channel (in gimp for example) of my png, and acroread displays it correctly.
    EDIT: with \pdfminorversion 7 (pdf 1.7), acroread has no the bug.
    png are correctly displayed.

  • Suddenly when I print screen the result is .png not .pdf as it allways have been. Any explanation?

    Is there a way I can get back to producing files ending .pdf?
    Steinar

    The default has always been PNG. You must have changed the default some time in the past. It can easily be done with 3rd party utilities, i.e., TinkerTool, Secrets, MacPilot, etc..
    Personally, I prefer using "jpegs."

    Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
    This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
    If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
    Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
    This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
    Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
    Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
    In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
    Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
    Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
    Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Is it possible to override the built-in PDF format handler with a custom IFilter for PDF?

    Hi,
    SharePoint 2013 comes with a built-in "format handler" for PDF now, so it can index PDF files out of the box. This is great for most users, as it now no longer is necessary to install a third-party IFilter for crawling PDF documents.
    My question is, is it possible to override the built-in format handler for PDF with a custom IFilter for PDF? I played with the Set-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormatState and Remove-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormat cmdlets. While it is possible to deactivate
    the built-in format handler, I was not able to remove it and to create a new one that activates a custom IFilter for PDF files.
    Background of the question: While the new built-in format handler for PDF will probably be sufficient for many SharePoint users, some need additional capabilities regarding indexing if PDF documents, e.g. extraction of custom metadata from PDF's document
    information dictionary and embedded XMP metadata. PDFlib GmbH, the company I work form, sells an IFilter for PDF, and of course we would like to continue to offer this for SharePoint 2013.
    Thanks
    Stephan

    You should be able to replace it with any ifilter you want, this is the procedure for installing it:
    Install PDF iFilter 9.0 (64 bit) from
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025)
    Download PDF icon picture from Adobe web site
    http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html (http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html)  and copy to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\IMAGES\
    Add the following entry in docIcon.xml file, which can be found at: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\XML
    <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="pdficon_small.png" />
    Add pdf file type on the File Type page under Search Service Application
    Open regedit
    Navigate to the following location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office Server\15.0\Search\Setup\ContentIndexCommon\Filters\Extension
    Right-click > Click New > Key to create a new key for .pdf
    Add the following GUID in the default value
    {E8978DA6-047F-4E3D-9C78-CDBE46041603}
    •Restart the SharePoint Server Search 15
    •Reboot the SharePoint servers in Farm
    •Create a Test site (with any out-of-box site template) and create a document library upload any sample PDF document(s).
    •Perform FULL Crawl to get search result.
    Once the crawl is completed we will get search results.
    Kind regards,
