PO confirmation alerts in SUS portal

I created PO in R/3 and sent to vendor SUS portal.
Then vendor didn't confirmed PO so i sent alerts for PO confirmation to vendor.. Now when I am trying to see alerts in SUS portal, its giving error as: "Error in call of back end function for component AlertMonitorComponent: Message type is unknown., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE".
Please guide.

By PO confirmation I dont mean Goods receipt, but its PO acceptance by vendor.

• BPM: Confirming Alerts - pro's and con's.

Hi all,
In Business Process Monitoring in the alerts view, you have the option to confirm alerts - primiarly I assume to remove the yellow or red alert status from the summary screen of alerts, so that operators can see at a glance which monitors have a status other than green. Other than that - what are the benefits and drawbacks (if any) of confirming /not confirming alerts?
Would there be any concerns with system performance / table overflow by keeping many unconfirmed alerts in the list?
From a BI trend analysis point of view, will both confirmed and unconfirmed alerts be transferred to the BI cube for trend reporting?
For example, we could configure BPM to send a notification when there are 20 yellow alerts of a certain type. Only on notification (email) will a user go into BPM to view the alert in more detail. So, the number of alerts in BPM could add up very quickly and only get confirmed every so often.
Thanks,
John

Hi,
1) Your understading is correct to some extend, the confirmation of alert is to know the status of any new alerts at an istance. so it forms easier for us to locate. Confirming should be done, if the alert is really looked upon and solved, so easy to track. If you keep it unconfirmed, you ll always get the old alerts in queue leading to the overall rating to be misleading sometimes.
2) You have to plan/so sizing on your solution manager accordingly to negate any system performance issues.its impact will be very less.
3) yes.You wil get all the alert.You can see all the confirmed alerts too.(there is an option available).
4) This shouldn't be an issue:). The alerts remain the same in the BI. Sizing matters.
Thanks,

• Prevent Invoice Status Change in SUS Portal

Dear SUS experts,
We are on SRM 7.0, ECC 6.0 EPH4 and implementing the service Procurement scenario in SUS where ECC is the system of record for POs.
On the SUS Portal, we have a requirement for a vendor Display role, where the user is not allowed to modify or change the status of any of the purchasing documents in the SUS Portal.
For the Vendor Display only role, we removed the create and change access from the SUS roles. However, the issue we are facing is when displaying the invoice sent to the purchaser, the user is able to click on the 'Set Status' push button and change the status of the invoice to 'Payment Made'. We want to prevent this user action.
We reached out to SAP and they asked to look at OSS note 1261825. This was not of much help.
Please let me know if any of you faced this issue.
Thanks,
Raj

Use the function module CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN to save the status to the order.
after that use CRM_ORDER_SAVE. to save the order

We are getting an abort error when completing and submitting the supplier self registration form in the SUS Portal.
During debug we found that the abort is happening in the class CL_UWS_FORM_RUNTIME and method SETGENXSLTPROG.
The problem is it is not able to find the XSLT program and the line of the abort has the following
message: x006(uws_forms).
Please let me know if anyone has faced a similiar situation and its resolution.
Thanks in advance,

HI
it is a standard error. Without particular OSS notes.
Try to manage your XLST transformation with program XSLT_TOOL, inside you will find some errors into construction of the page html (i think a very large string or an ">" of more....)

Hi,
Yes if client want new description for the PS Group, you have to create new only and assign the wage types to them and so on..... you have to do all the configurations regarding the PS Group. Here the main point is be careful with the start date of the PS Group for newly created records and assignments.

• CONFIRMATION alert

hello!
one problem
if I have a CONFIRMATION alert, how can i make it to display OK and Cancel buttons plus how can I get information, whether user has clicked OK or Cancel? something like confirm function in JavaScript, which returns true or false
thanks a lot

Your Alert is a Displayble (check in javadoc) ... so you just have to had 2 Command ... one for the Yes and one for the No.
Then you set the CommandListener with the instance which will receive the events. (you can select the current instance ... this ...that implements CommandListener)
And you just have to implement the commandAction method of the interface to process the events :
import javax.microedition.lcdui.*;
public MyGUI extends Alert implements CommandListener
public MyGUI() {
super();
// Here you will create the 2 Command and add them to the Alert
setCommandListener(this);
public void commandAction(Command c, Diplayable d) {
// where c is the command that the user has selected
// and d is the displayable that triggered the event (your Alert in this case)
}

• Technical Monitoring - Report confirmed alerts

Hi experts,
I already googled but couldn't find a solution.
Where can I see ( I guess in workcenter) confirmed alerts?
I mean, in technical monitoring, I get an alert and after confirming I don't know where to find this.
Kind regards

Hi Christian,
Did you check this in preferences.
If you have this option then you can do a search.
Goto Alert Inbox and check on top right corner -- Preferences

• Business Process Monitoring: restrict authorization to confirm alerts

Hello Experts,
I am working with Solution Manager's Business Process Monitoring and I am now facing these questions regarding roles and authorizations to allow/forbid alert confirmation:
- What is the authorization mechanism behind alert confirmation in BPM? Is a specific authorization object involved when pressing the button "Confirm selected"?
- Is it possible to adjust roles (if no standard role is available) in order to have, for example,
--Role1: give users the authorizations to walk through DSWP transaction, see business processes' alerts and confirm them
--Role2: give users the authorizations to walk through DSWP transaction, see business processes' alerts but NOT allow them to confirm any alert?
Our Solution Manager version:
SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SP22)
ST-PI 2008_1_700 level2
ST-SER 701_2008_2 level 6
ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570
I hope I managed to explain my doubts properly; any help will be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your support,
best regards
Paolo

Hello Paolo,
it is the first time that I hear that request. Can you explain what your use case is? Why would you allow some users to see and analyze alerts but do not let them confirm the alerts if the problem is solved?
As the user/date/time is logged if somebody confirms you have the transaparency who confirmed which alert at what point of time.
I think that currently no such split in authorizations is supported but perhaps you can find something in the securtiy guide.
Best Regards

• BPM: Confirming alerts doesn't refresh alert status

Hi Colleagues,
Have anyone dealt with refreshing problems in Solman's BPM?
If I have a red alert and process it, I proceed to confirm the alert.
In this node, status is changed to green (some cases into grey).
If I get back to the first screen in the BPM, process is still in red leading to confusion to our local monitoring team. It doesn´t matter that no other alerts are current unconfirmed.
You can refresh as many times you want, system remains in red.
I have a message in support but response process is really slow.
They just recomended to apply latest version of note 0001255970 but no effects were observed.
We are in ST 400 SP 17.
Thanks,
Renato Petrulis

Just as feedback from SAP Support, it´s not an error:
(...) Let me explain the difference between Current Status and Open Alerts a
little more:
Every MTE (MTE: Monitoring Tree Element. It is the actual measurement that you are interested in. For example, BDocs con ErrorBDocs con Error defined in component BDocs con Error is an MTE) has configurable thresholds. The thresholds define the values which, when exceeded, create an alert instance. Both yellow and red thresholds can be defined. The alert instance records the time at which the threshold was exceeded,and also have a corresponding status i.e. if the red threshold is
exceeded, a red alert instance is created. When you hit the 'Confirm' button, you are actually clearing the alert instances.
Whereas, in the Current Status view, you actually see the current value of the MTE, which can be red or yellow or green irrespective of what hadhappened in the past.
Therefore, the expected behaviour is that when all the alerts are confirmed, the MTE shows green in the Open Alerts view. But the Current Status view continues to show the actual current status, which may be red or yellow or green. Therefore the DSWP transaction is actually working as expected.

• Unable to confirm alerts

Hi,
I have configures the alertframe work to send messages when ever a message is not processed. I create a mail with a link to the message, and that works just fine.
When the next problem arises with the same adapter, I don't get any alerts.
When I log into my alert inbox, don't see any messages/alerts. When I try to add subscription I get that I cannot load the page /sap/bc/bsp/sap/alertsubscription/subscribe.htm?sap-client=001. I'm unable to find that service in SICF and have tried the report to start it.
In the alert framework log I get the following messages, when the system tries to create the new entries in the log table.

• Item level attachments in confirmation sent from SUS in EBP-SUS scenario

Dear colleagues,
I am in SRM 5.0
In an EBP-SUS scenario, I have created a Confirmation for a Purchase Order with an attachment added at header level of confirmation as well as item level of confirmation and sent to EBP.
The XML that reaches EBP has both the attachments but effectively the confirmation that gets created in EBP has attachment only in header level and the item level attachment is missing.
Could any of you with your experience let me know whether it is a limitation or is it possible to send attachments in item level to EBP?
Many thanks.
Best regards,
Srivatsa Ganesh V
SAP Labs

vatsa,
if the xml message has both the attachments , then it is a problem.
please debug the inbound of xml , it is very easy to find out whether both the attachments are considered in the creation of the document.
use transaction sxi_support and the inbound xml for debugging.

• How to pass parameter to function when confirm(Alert.show) closed?

<![CDATA[
import mx.controls.*;
import mx.events.*;
private function deleteItem(guid:String):void
Alert.show("Are sure you want to delete?", "Confirm Delete", Alert.YES|Alert.NO, this, alertClicked);
private function alertClicked(event:CloseEvent) {
if(event.detail == Alert.YES) {
Alert.show("yes "+guid); //<-- here I want to get guid
else if (event.detail == Alert.NO){
Alert.show("no ");
return;
]]>
Thanks.

Hi Itambs,
You can do the following:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="deleteItem('Dummy GUID VALUE')">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import mx.controls.*;
import mx.events.*;
private var myAlert:Alert;
private function deleteItem(guid:String):void
myAlert = Alert.show("Are sure you want to delete?", "Confirm Delete", Alert.YES|Alert.NO, this, alertClicked);
myAlert.data = guid;
myAlert.height = 150;
myAlert.width = 300;
private function alertClicked(event:CloseEvent):void{
if(event.detail == Alert.YES) {
//Alert.show("yes "+guid); //<-- here I want to get guid
Alert.show("yes "+ myAlert.data);
else if (event.detail == Alert.NO){
Alert.show("no ");
return;
]]>
</mx:Script>
</mx:Application>
Note: you can also do this in another way by decalring a global variable guid as ...... private var _guid:String="";
set _guid = guid; in deleteItem() function and then in alertClicked() function you can access the value as _guid again...which holds the saved value...

• Propose Change against a confirmed PO in SUS

SRM Gurus,
We have following requirement in MM-SUS scenario:
1. Buyer submits PO to SUS from ECC.
2. Supplier responds with POR without any changes in qty./date/price and the same is updated in ECC PO(Buyer also confirms the same).
3. Due to delay for some on supplier side, in SUS supplier wants to propose new qty./date for he same cofirmed PO.
I am not able to understand how to handle the step three....
we are using ECC6 and SRM6.0
with regards
Manjunath

Hi,
I am afraid that making changes to the standard , or even developing your Z code for your requirement will be very complicated ..
from the business point of view --> supplier should only confirm --> if he is very certain that he will be able to deliver the goods according to the dates specified..
once the supplier has confirmed --> the supplier can do no changes --> only way out is for the purchaser to make changes and send over again to SUS.
in this case the status of the order in SUS will go from 'confirmed' to ' changed'.., and there it is possible to confirm again..
but in MM --> if you have created follow-on documents ( goods receipt) , then i am not sure wether --> the purchaser will be able to make changes and send over to SUS again..
