Issue
I created a Purchase order for an article to a site.It is required to update in a Data source .But it is not updating . Please help me.

I tried after doing Goods receipt too, but it is not working.
I need it to update it because R/3 will get updated in a data source and BI fetch the data from the(R/3) data source to infor source (BI).So if we need data available in BI it has to be in R/3 data source. please help. data source we use is 2LIS_02_SCL

If both files are held locally on the computer it looks like there is no problem however if you try and do it though icloud (ie your docs are saved on icloud) you dont get the "source" oprion besides the graph etc. Is this a but or a broken function due to the new implementation of icloud.

Import option is not showing the Data Source created using ODBC

Hi all,
I'm new to OBIEE, just installed OBIEE 10g in my system with the help of some reply from this Forum (thanks to Kalyan for this).
Now when I tried to create new rpd, the Import option is not showing the Data source I have created. I have created new Datasource in the SystemDSN tab of the ODBC Administrator window,I have tried this by creating the Datasource in the UserDNS tab as well.
Mine is Windows 7 Ultimate. The new data source which I have created through the ODBC Administrator window is to connect to SQL 2008 (I'm trying to get some table from SQL 2008 database), I don't have Oracle data base.
While creating the Data source ODBC Administrator is showing only two drives (SQL Server and SQL Server Native Client 10.0 ) , so I have created the Data source using the SQL Server Native Client 10.0 drive.
Can some one help me to understand the issue and to solve it.

Data is not updating in data target from PSA

i have loaded data from flat file to an Info Object(with direct update)....the data is loaded correctly into PSA...when i manually read data from PSA to data target its not updting in data target.......can anyone help with this....thanks in advance..

direct update, so it's master data,
is it attribute or text ? perhaps there's invalid character or lower case,
check in monitor tab detail.
and when you said not updated to data target,
you check by right click 'maintain master data' ?
or you mean it's not updated to reporting ?
execute change run ? rsa1->tools->apply attribute/hierarchy change.

In DSV, we have two data sources both using Teradata. While processing dimensions, all dimensions coming from secondary data source has error message”

But we are not using OLE DB provider for now, we’ve searched some threads that named queries can be replaced for secondary ds, but since we have a lot of tables, it’s hard to implement using named queries.

source after it is defined). After defining a data source view based on objects from a single data source, you can then add objects from other data sources.
If an OLAP processing or a data mining query requires data from multiple data sources in a single query, the primary data source must support remote queries using
OpenRowset. Typically, this will be a SQL Server data source.
Here are the restrictions:
The primary data source should be SQL Server and support OpenRowset to the secondary data source.
Or you design the cube in such a way that rocessing for each object only needs to access data from a single data source

Excel Functions Do Not Work When Data Source is BW

Hello,
My platform is, BOBJ BI 4.0. Data source is SAP BW. BW is connected to XCelsius with BEx. My problem is, excel functions do not work when data source is BW. For example, Excel cell A1=quantity1 B1= quantity2 C1= excel function "=A1+B1" When data source is Excel, for example A1=5, B1=9 C1 automatically equals to 14. (There is no problem when data source is Excel) But, in BW, for example when BW set values to A1=5, B1=9, the system does not calculate C1. C1 always equals to initial value, the system does not care any excel calculation when data source is BW. Any guess for my problem? Thank you for your effort.

Hi,
As you are using very simple formula,it will work no matter which source you are consuming.As mentioned,try to place a simple component(Eg:spreadsheet),just to check whether you are getting the right calculated value or not.
As you are using BW as source,the Preview option will not show the runtime data,so you need to publish in Portal to check whether the calculation happened or not.
As far as I know only few fromulas are supported in Xcelsius,but these kind of simple formulas are very much supported.

PC Sync could not update the data to the mobile ph...

Ok now I am a little annoyed with my Nokia 6680.
For the last four months it has been working fine but all of a sudden it has stopped synching with either of my PC's.
The phone connects ok and I can do file transfers etc however when I try to sync it fails with the message
"The Synchronisation has been Terminated!"
and
"PC Sync could not update the data to the mobile phone."
I updated PC Sync to latest version on both PC's and I have tried cable and bluetooth connections but get the same issue.
In the end I bit the bullet and re-initialised the phone and it began working again.... for three days and then its doing the same thing again. It still connects ok but no sync.
My Laptop is using WinXP SP2 and my home PC is on WinXP SP1.
Anyone able to help with this please, my phone is effectively now a paper weight and I will go back to Pocket PC phones again.

Thanks for the tip I had the SAME problem on the 6822 same error. The phone had been fine for a month or so. Then nothing would synch, thought it was the PC fixed / reinstalled the software changes options nothing would work same error.
Read your note, powered down the phone and Bingo all synched fine!

Control file not updated till date in RAC two node database

Good day.
To my surprise i found that control files, in our database RAC with two nodes, are not updated till date except one from node 1 and another from node 2.
But we got all the controlfile names in the init parameter file, in both the nodes.
Node 1

As you could see cntrl01.dbf is the only file updated till date in both the nodes. The database is running fine.
what is actually happening?

As you're using RAC it is very likely that you are using an SPFILE.
Connect as a DBA account (or an account with SELECT ANY DICTIONARY privileges) in both the instances and do "show parameter spfile" and "show parameter control" (or query V$parameter)
It is likely that the spfile is referencing only 1 controlfile.

SourceFire is not updating the data

I am currently running Virtual Defense Center 64bit, v5.2.0 ( Build 838), Sourcefire Linux OS 5.2 (build 135). We have the Defense Center and one device ( 3D7010). The system was working fine until we changed the password on the Shell account on the Defense Center and the device, both were also rebooted. Now the data in the Defense Center is not updating. It appears via the syslogs that everything is working correctly, except for the transfer of data from the device to the Defense center. I am pretty sure I need to update the password some where in the Defense Center for data updates to resume, but I can't seem to find it. The device is showing green under device management. After reviewing the syslogs, the device is not seeing the heartbeat from the SFDC.
We are getting the following results:

Data Source not visible in Data Source Tree in 7.0 System

I have a CO_PA Data-Source that I have brought into our Development System from an other R/3 System via RSDS and that all worked fine. Trying to get it into the System via "Replicate Data Source" of the Source System didn't work even do the System showed me in the System_line on the bottom, that it was saving Data-Source etc, while replicating.
The thing is now, that even do I managed to activate my Data Source via RSDS, build a Transformation, and fetcht the Data out of the Source System into PSA, my Data-Source-Tree just show's me a Top-Node called "NEW_HIER_ROOT" for this Source-System but not my Data-Source underneath !!
Can anybody help me on this behaviour of the Data Source Tree ?

ConnectionCacheName not read from data-sources.xml

I created a simple web application to test the use of the ConnectionCacheBean (from the jdbc 3.0 examples page). I read through the code and some other articles regarding data sources and noted that you "should" be able to set the connection cache name and caching enabled, as well as failover support, even in oc4j 9.0.4 and 10.1.2. I tried this (at least the first two), and it would NOT set the cache name.
The data-sources.xml entry was the same as in the one documented here:

What gives?
Also, I tried to simulate the database going down - I killed all the sessions rather than doing a shutdown, but anyway... even with a connection cache property of validatelogin (i think that's the name) to true, and a refresh of invalid connections (they'd all be invalid if I killed them), it would only reactivate ONE SESSION. If I refreshed ALL Sessions, then it would do 9 of the 10 sessions (10 being my initial cache limit).
Any ideas?
I can post the code if that is an issue.

A response I got back from Frances Zhao regarding the two issues that I experienced was:
Issue#1: Cannot set the connectionCacheName via data-sources.xml
1. This is very likely because of an OC4J bug that affects the actual order of
    setting each <property> specified in data-sources.xml. The connection cache
    in OracleDataSource requires the cache-name property be set after the cache
    is enabled; but OC4J may not always follow this order, causing the name
    to be null. If you really need the cache name, you have to do it in the code
    for now.
Issue#2: Can't refresh the invalid connections
2. These are known issues in the Oracle JDBC driver in both 10.1.0.4 and
    10.2.0.1. The fix for the REFRESH_INVALID case will be in the next
    patch release for both 10.1.x and 10.2.x; the fix for the REFRESH_ALL
    case will come later.

Peristent Store does not show the Data Source in Wenlogic 12.1.3

I have installed WebLogic 12.1.3 on my windows machine using Java 8 and am trying to configure the Data Source and Persistent Store (of JDBC type).
I'm able to create a Generic Data Source of type - *Oracle's Driver (Thin) for Instance connections;Versions:Any. The test connection also was successful.
When i proceed with the creation of a Persistent Store - JDBC type, the Data Source created is not getting populated in the drop down across Data Source label.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening?? or What needs to be done by me to fix this issue?
I'm unable to proceed further with my configuration due to this.

In order to use the JDBC persistence store you have to use a non XA JDBC driver for your Data Source.

External Data source not appearing in Data source type

I use SQL Server 2012 BI Edition and use Data tools to create reports. I have a 3rd party Data source. While creating a new shared data source, I cannot get it to appear under the Data Source Type. Only the current built in types are available. For test
purposes, I tried editing the RSReportServer.config and added a duplicate entry and it was shown in the dropdown. What should I do?
When this 3rd party data source is installed, under Tools --> Connect to Database, I am able to get that datatype and connect to my data source. I tried uninstalling and this option goes away.

Based on my research, the error always occurs when you load custom extensions in SQL Server 2012 Data Tools or use Report Builder 2.0 to run an SSRS 2008 or SSRS 2008 R2 report that uses a custom data processing extension in server mode. According to your
description, it seems that you are not in those two scenarios. So I think this issue can be caused by that the Custom Data Process Extension is not deployed correctly in SQL Server Reporting Services.

Deletion of Request which are not updated to data target

hi,
I want to all PSA data whether it is updated or not In our project this is being done by Using a Process chain, But it is not deleting the request which are not updated to any data target or failed, I have selected both the check boxes
Only successfully booked requests
Only requests with errors, not updated in any data target
but even after selecting this check box it is not deleting the failed request, can any one tell me why it is so.
Any help in this would be highly appreciated.

Try to do it without checking any of the checkboxes...

BoFC 7.5 could not start the data source

Hi ,
I am installing BoFC Server on windows server 2003 R2 SP2. as part of installation I have created a empty database ( SQL server 2008 R2) . Installation went without any issu .
I opened the ctadmin and defined the new data source connecting to the new database created during installation .
When I am trying to start that database , I am getting following error :
Failed to start data source BFC_7.5.
Failed to start server instances on machine VANTAGEAPPS2.
Failed to initialize server configured on machine VANTAGEAPPS2.
Class not registered
Can someone please help .
