Please tell me how to solve this issue.

Dear Kumar,
It is possible that this issue is happening due to cusomized smartforms. In order to check make sure that standard smartforms BBP_OUTPUT_COVER is being used and retest the issue.

• Arabic text displayed incorrectly on sites!

Arabic text characters are all connected one to another in a word, but FireFox displays the letters right, except they are disconnected and each letter is on its own, making it very difficult if not impossible to read.
What I used to do in the past is, pages that contain Arabic Text for me such as Facebook, I used to install IETAB2 and set facebook to always open with IETAB and then the text would display correctly.
The strange thing is, if you use IE, it would display the same garbage isolated Arabic letters, but the IETAB with IE7 emulation works like a charm.
With that said, recently, FF stopped displaying arabic text correctly even with IETAB2
But Google Chrome always works like a charm without the need for anything.
I have tried changing the encoding on the site but that doesn't help
Can anyone suggest anything please?
Google Chrome, Correct display of Arabic Text:
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9937/chromefc.png
FireFox with IETAB or without, same result:
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/8855/firefoxlh.png
Anything other than UTF-8 will just display as jibberish.
But the problem with UTF-8 is that the Arabic letters are not linked one to the other, each one is seperated, makeing it very difficult to read.
What's even weirder is, I checked with Chrome, which displays Arabic Text just fine, and it is also using the UTF-8 encoding but it works!? Please help as I don't want to use Chrome :(

The point is to see if disabling that setting temporarily and selecting some other fonts makes a difference.
It is possible that the Lucida Grande font that you have isn't working properly.

• Text display issues with htmlText, Embedded Font

Hey All,
I'm having an issue with the display of my hyperlinks in a
textfield that is using embedded fonts. It offsets the hyperlinks
to the left along the line they are on and the underline doesn't
stretch all the way under the text field. The text display normally
when I don't embed the font. For some reason I think this might
have to do with the embedded character range so I opened it up.
Does anyone know if this range is enough or if there are special
characters flash uses that need to be embedded for their width even
though they arn't displayed.
Embedded range:
[Embed(source='MyriadPro-Regular.otf', fontName='Myriad Pro',
unicodeRange='U+0000-U+00fe')]

• Some text displays incorrectly (in bright colours) or not at all on Macbook Pro Retina

The text in the image is actually white and say "learn more" but for some reason, it displays like this, and even worse exports like this.
If I select the text, it looks like it should, but as soon as I deselect it, it reverts to the above corruption. (it varies in how corrupted it looks, sometimes it's the whole word, sometimes it's bright green etc) - I've switched off the graphics card in "performance" but it doesn't help.

Hate to tell you this but that corrosion is caused by body chemistry and more then likely Apple will do nothing for you.
Your body chemistry is of a pH that reacts with aluminum and is causing the corrosion. The only thing you can do is put a plastic film product on the palm rests to minimize any further damage.
Good Luck & Best Wishes.

I've contacted them just now, they clarified the situation.
On their side as well as what AASP will be able to see on the case is corrosion on palmrest exactly as i filed in the complain.
it only appears differently on My Support Profile.

• Text display, truncate with "...", how to?

I would like to display long text fields in a truncated format, limited to a certain length. If the length is within the limit, display normally. If the length is > limit, cut it off and append "..." .
This is the way the Feedback field is displayed in Apex Team Development, on pls/apex/f?p=4800:8000. It looks like they set the limit at 100 characters. For example:
Normal:
Are the menu paths what's configured in EBS, or paths where there are violations?
Truncated:
Reconcile the counts to p.6 Violations' reconcile counts report. Should work at the summary level b...
When I inspect that display element, here's what I find.
The unexpanded version is:
...

When I expand the element I see the full text:
Reconcile the counts to p.6 Violations' reconcile counts report. Should work at the summary level b...

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Andy,
Thanks for the pointer. The discussion included the REGEXP_SUBSTR function. Which suggested the SUBSTR function to truncate the field, which is all I need.
So my simple solution can be to select the long text field twice in the interactive report, once full length, and once truncated by SUBSTR concatenated with '...'. Then the user can make reports with either, and the single full record view will have both.

• Fonts display incorrectly in published page - iWeb 08

Sorry, another moan / question about iWeb 08.
I started to create my site with iWeb 06 and upgraded to iWeb 08.
My published site looks perfect in safari, firefox, opera and omniweb in OSX.
But in internet explorer and firefox for windows, the fonts in most text boxes do not display properly (reverts to a basic font, not the one specified).
As far as I can tell, if it is a plain textbox, the text displays incorrectly, but if, for example I add a hyperlink to the exact same box, the font changes to the one I specify. (Also some text boxes with a filled background or a border seem to display correctly).
Any ideas how to fix this. Any help would be much appreciated.

I asked the same question about a week ago......what people have told me is edit the border, frame or text in photoshop, if I'm not changing thta part of the page....
Are your podcast, blogs and photo pages working ok in IE or Nestcape???.......For me in IE the text and the fonts where the problem.......but in Netscape that was ok, but the podcast, nav bar, photos and blogs are not showing.......When I was using iWeb 06 I did not have this problem......

• Can anyone help me solve the problem of text displaying very rough on my new ASUS PA279Q display monitor running off my MacBook Pro?

This is regarding a brand new ASUS PA 279Q, 2560 x 1440 IPS monitor. I'm connected via mini display port (into thunderbolt port on MacBook Pro) to display port on ASUS monitor; using cable ASUS included with the monitor. Mid 2012 MacBook Pro…full specs at bottom of this post.
I have resolution set at 2560 x 1440 which is the native resolution according to the ASUS spec. I tried the other resolutions available in my System Preferences and text displayed rough with those settings too. I've tried adjusting contrast, brightness and sharpness via the ASUS control panel and didn't solve the problem. Also tried calibrating via Mac's system preferences/display and that did not improve text display either. All the text on this monitor (no matter what software I launch, Finder, InDesign, Illustrator, MS Word, Excel, VMWare Windows XP, Windows versions of Word, Excel, Acrobat, etc, all are consistently rendering text the same way --- ROUGH and with "HALOS" around each letter.
All point sizes of text and at various scales, display very rough on the screen. (My comparison is the retina display of my MBP and a Thunderbolt…so those two displays are my expectations.) I'm using the same MBP for both a Thunderbolt display (at work) and this ASUS at my home office.
On the ASUS it's not as noticeable when the text is on white backgrounds, but I'm a graphic designer and compose images with text all day everyday. Not to mention the specs on this ASUS PA279Q indicate it's built for the professional so I would expect better text rendering. I haven't even addressed color calibration and balance yet, because that won't matter to me if the text won't display any better than it is now.
I was so hopeful after researching all the specs on this monitor it would be a viable alternative to the glossy display of the Thunderbolt display. (Which, I do love the Thunderbolt display for it's clarity and how it displays crisp, clean text at all sizes. (This ASUS actually displays text decently if I increase the text so each letter is about 4" high. Which is pointless for practical purposes -- that'd be like doing page layout through a microscope!)
I kept holding off on getting a monitor for the home office thinking the Thunderbolt would be updated soon. I'd be sick if I dropped a grand on piece of 2011 technology only to learn a few days later an updated Thunderbolt display hit the market! Not to mention, I'm praying Apple comes out with a less reflective Thunderbolt display. The glare and reflection is the main reason I looked elsewhere for a large monitor; hence my asking for help. Hoping the ASUS text display issue can be worked out. My expectation is for it to display like the MBP retina and Thunderbolt display text. That possible?
Alternatively, I guess I could do the Apple Refurb Thunderbolt at $799. And see if there's a decent aftermarket anti-glare I could stick on it?
Thanks for reading my post. Hope someone can help; offer any suggestions? Words or wisdom?
Has anyone else had similar issues and figured out a resolution? Help!
MacBook Pro
Retina, Mid 2012, 2.3 Ghz Intel i7
8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
OS X 10.8.5
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
ASUS PA279Q

I uninstalled those two items. It still runs slow on start-up and when opening safari, firefox, iphoto, itunes, etc. It's not snappy like it used to be. Any other ideas? Thanks.

• How can I change settings so that pictures embedded within and part of an email text to be displayed?

Using a laptop with Vista (German), Firefox4 and Gmail (both English), pics embedded within a text of an email do not display. They do display, however, with a PC operating with XP, Firefox 3.?? and Gmail (all English). Do settings need to be changed in Firefox4 to have such pics displayed using the laptop?

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
See:
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
* Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
* Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
* Check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
* Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

• Using eprint to print photos with email text on one page

I have been using Presto eprint services for several years for my Dad, and I really like how it works and allows me to print the email (from, to, text in the body of the email), plus any attachments, all on one page using full letter size paper However, my parents would like to get rid of their land-line phone, so I'm looking for options to replace the Presto printer. I was thinking that HP eprint might be a good option, but based on some initial tests with a friends printer, it seems to just print photos as full page images, without the email content. Is there anyway to confirgure the HP eprint function to print the email text and photos or PDF file attachment on one page? Thanks.

Hello @Joseph_TX ,
Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you want to know if a way to configure the HP ePrint.
I would like to help.
Unfortunately there is no way to reconfigure the ePrint.
When you send an email to the printers ePrint address, it will print the body of the email and any attachments.
It will not print the subject line or who the email is from.
Also the ePrint feature will not resize pictures sent.
What you send is what you get.
You can get more control over ePrint with the ePrint app, but I don't believe that will suit your needs.

my ipad won"t turn off. there is a small window with an email text in it and it appears frozen on the screen. How can i turn the ipad off?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

• Not all chinese characters display correctly with non-embedded text

Hi all,
I've updated to the last beta 2 of Flash Player 10.1 (10,1,51,66) and compiled this simple Flex application to illustrate the fact that not all chinese characters can be displayed correctly with non-embedded text (device font).

<s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo"
minWidth="1024" minHeight="768"
creationComplete="resourceManager.localeChain = ['zh_CN'];"
layout="{new VerticalLayout()}">
<fx:Script>

import spark.layouts.VerticalLayout;

</fx:Script>
<s:Label text="伜-伞伟传伡伢伣伤伥伦伧伨伩伪伫伬伭-伝">
</s:Label>
<mx:Label text="伜-伞伟传伡伢伣伤伥伦伧伨伩伪伫伬伭-伝"/>
</s:Application>
Notice that characters from the Unicode range 0x4F1E .. 0x4А2D are not displayed within <s:Label> component that uses Flash Text Engine (FTE) by default to display the text, but at the same time those characters display just fine within older <mx:Label> component that relies on flash.text.TextField instance to render the text.

OK, did not know that "Arial Unicode MS" font is only distributed with Microsoft Office, was looking into relying on this font in case if "simsun.ttc" font is not available at the user's system, by using the following:

<s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
minWidth="1024" minHeight="768"
creationComplete="resourceManager.localeChain = ['zh_CN']"
layout="{new VerticalLayout()}">
<fx:Style>
@namespace s "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark";
@namespace mx "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo";
s|Label {
fontFamily: "Arial Unicode MS, SimSun, Arial";
</fx:Style>
<fx:Script>

import spark.layouts.VerticalLayout;

</fx:Script>
<s:Label id="sparkLabel" text="伜-伞伟传伡伢伣伤伥伦伧伨伩伪伫伬伭-伝"/>
</s:Application>
Tough decision ahead, but accordingly to the survey at codestyle.org (2000 participants from 2007 year and onwards), Arial Unicode MS is present at 62.53%% system surveyed.
ps
My current install of Windows XP already includes the install of Microsoft Office 2007 and I've also enabled/disabled the support of East Asian languages, thus the content of my "fonts" folder differs now significantly from "clean" Windows XP install version.
Nevertheless I found the page with comprehensive lists of standard fonts installed with different releases of Windows that looks viable here: http://www.kayskreations.net/fonts/fonttb.html

• Email text will not display

I've recently noticed a problem where I can't get email text to display in my iPhone. Part of the text can be seen in the preview, but when I open the message, the entire message body is blank. When I download the email to my desktop computer or check it using hotmail/gmail/ etc , the messages are clearly there and real - I just can't see them when using iPhone's mail program.
Has anyone encountered this problem and have a fix?

Try force-closing the Mail app: double-tap the home button, locate Mail in the list at the bottom, tap and hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, tap the home button again. Now open Mail again and see if you can read your email correctly.

• Mail will not display images with .jpeg extension. .jpg works fine. (displays in place when opening the email. What plug-in would correct this?

If you think you're insane now, try maintaining those pop up menus.
As far as I know, these menus have not been updated since FW 8, so
they are at least two versions old.
Save yourself a lot of grief by avoiding those menus. There are many
other products on the market which do a much better job of creating
and maintaining this type of navigation structure.
Read this link before you climb any higher on this slippery slope:
http://apptools.com/rants/jsmenu.php
There was another blog post by the fellow who originally wrote the pop
up menu feature, but I can't seem to locate it. Even he says stay away
from them.
Not the answer you probably want, but I hope it helps, nonetheless.
