PO Quantity Greater Than SC Quantity?

Hello Experts,
I've created Local PO at SRM based on sourcing process, which came from SC. Somehow, I edited the quantity of PO greater than SC and SRM didn't throw error message. As we know, if we do the same thing at ECC (PR to PO) then error message will appear and tells us that the requirement has been ordered in full quantity.
Is it how the standard SRM works, without quantity checking against already ordered item for related SC?
Basically, we want to create PO from more than one bid.
Appreciate your helps.
Sincerely,
Ted

Hi Jason,
Yes, it's obvious that we can change subsequent PO, including quantity. But the problem is how can the quantity be greater than the SC quantity? Beside, we can't control required quantity vs ordered quantity
This will lead to ordering the unnecessary materials.
Thanks,
Ted

If I am using BDC to create outbound delivery then i am getting below error:
VL    363 Delivery quantity is greater than target quantity 22.800 FT
But if I am using BAPI to create outbound delivery, then i am not getting any message and delivery is being created but includes only those items for which delivery qty is less than below order qty. I want to have error message in case of BAPI also.
What is the solution? Is there any enhancement of function module available to have this message.

  • Message no 06067 "Scheduled quantity & &" greater than target quantity

    Hi,
I change the status of the message no 06067"Scheduled quantity & & greater than target quantity & &" from W to E. Than In Se38, the schedule quantity cannot be maintained greater than target quantity.
But in MRP Run, the message number does not work.
How to restrict higher qty then target qty created through MRP.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Ashish Panchal

    Hi Ashish,
The Note 83343 should answer your question.
83343 MD01: No check of target qty in sched. agreemnt
    As described:
"The planning run should run automatically and without interruption by some events.
The system makes a decision either in favor of the quota arrangement or in favor
of the source list. The system reads the scheduling agreement once in the update process.
To have a check on the target quantity would require another read of the document which
was determined to affect the system performance."
A maximum quantity can be considered by means of the quota arrangement. A modification exists which will allow for a check of the maximum quantity in the quota arrangement. The note contains more details on this.

  • Invoice quantity greater than PO quantity (item without GR)

    Dear All,
I want a restriction in Import PO where system should give error message when Invoice quantity is greater than PO quality ( and GR is not posted).Following setting has been done but still system is issuing any error or warning message.
    1) Set System Message M8 087 as a Error in column online and BatchI in transaction OMRM.
    2) In OMR6 for tolerance key DQ (Exceed amount: quantity variance) set upper limit zero (check limit) in val and %.
    3) In MM-Inventory Management & Phy Invt.u2014Goods Receiptu2014Set tolerance Limit (OMC0)--for B1 and B2 (Order price qty variance (GR) / E and W message Upper limit is set as zero.
Please guide me where i am going wrong or need any other setting?

There is no tolerance key which compares the quantity/amount of the purchase order with the quantity/amount of the invoice.
This is the standard system design.
In the SAP standard release, the system checks the price and quantity variances on the basis of the default values for the goods
receipts. As a result, we can post invoices although the amounts and quantities in the invoice items are greater than the amounts and quantities in the corresponding purchase order items.
If we want the amounts and quantities for the purchase order items to be included in the tolerance check, we can use a customer enhancement (BADI) in the 'MRM_BADI_INVOICE_CHECK' function module to run the check on price and quantity variances based on the amounts and quantities from the purchase order item.

  • Delivery quantity is greater than target quantity

    Hi ,
I am getting a warning  massage "delivery quantity is greater than target quantity" while running picking in back ground .Here a would like to inform you that we have created a Z program which which makes the picking in background against the input of Barcode number. But the problem is if we make that the same entry in VL01n it is not showing any problem. But we are using same thing means VL01n by BDC and this massage comes from SAP ...ABAP-ers have nothing to do with this .Can u tell me why i am getting this massage .
    thans and regards,
    Abhijit Duttta .

    Dear Friend,
There Must be some problem with your BDC while entering DATA in the feilds.
In doing Picking if the Quantity is entered more than the quantity to be delivered the message flashes.
Just check for your self in the feild mapping in the BDC program by SE38 TC
and also Check for the Flat File where you are entering data.
Try and test with one Transaction in foreground and if it is successful then only go for background process.

  • Schedule line getting confirmed when Ordered Quanity is greater than stock.

    Hi Sap Gurus,
We have an issue in one of the sales scenario.
In one of the sales orders the ordered quanity is purposely maintained greater than the stock at respective storage location(batch managed).
In this case the schedule line should not get confirmed and it should not allow delivery document creation.
But in the sales order the schedule lines are geeting confirmed and even the delivery document is getting created with picking request completion.
Could you please help to understand :
    1.  why the schedule lines are getting confirmed when ordered quantity > Inventory?
    2. How do I stop delivery document creaton in this scenario?
    Looking for a quick response.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bhaskar

    Hello Bhaskar,
Is Availability Check in your system considering Replenishment Lead time, if yes, then this is possible.
    Check this IMG Link:
IMG - Sales and Distribution - Basic Functions - Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements - Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning - Carry Out Control For Availability Check
    Here check the RLT settings.
Also check settings under In/Outward Movements, where things like include Purchase Order can lead to confirmation of stock in Sales Order, despite physical inventory being present.
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,

  • How to block Invoice when qty of Invoice is greater than PO Qty

    Hi,
You can deal with this situation in 2 ways. Manually block the invoice while posting, TAB: Payment.
    Else,
Use Quantity Variance Key: DQ,DW. You can enter tolerances for Lower and Upper Limit. You can enter absolute and percentage base variance. If one of the limit is exceeded the invoice is blocked for payment.
If you want certain variance is always blocked, set value or percentage for the upper limit to ZERO and select Check Limit.
    IMG->Material Management->logistics Invoice Verification->Invoice Block->Set Tolerance Limits (Transaction Code: OMR6).
These setting are for Co. Code level.
Any deviation from ordered Quantity will be blocked.
Hope this is what you are looking for!!

  • Payment Amount is greater than invoice amount in sales order

    Hi experts:
I have a Sales order that contained originally  3 lines of which the first 2 lines was delivered totally and the third was delivered partially.
The client decided to change the remaining quantity for another reference so the procedure in the sales order was to add another line and try to close the third line by right click and "close row" but the option is not available because there is a partial delivery, so the option was to update the inicial quantity in the third line at the same as delivered and update.
Like a result a I could close the third line and leave a fourth line available to delivery, however when I open this Sales order again an try to update a message "payment amount is greater than invoice amount" and appears inmediately the "Deposit on Order" window.
Other Information:  The quantities delivered was invoiced but no payment has been received.
Checking in the SCN I have not found some related information with this case because the existing answers are related with incomming and outgoing payments but like I mentioned before this docuements already have not payments.
In relation with the decimal places, my original decimal places configuration was 2 and it was updated to 3, issue that neither is mentioned in previous answers.
    I will appreciate your help,
    Thanks,
    Manuel

    Hi Manuel,
Your case is complicated by the fact you have not only undated the Sales Order which is partially delivered but also updated decimal places during the process.  In this case, you are probably the best person to figure out what is the system expected number.  You may restore your production db to test environment first.  Then do whatever you could to fix the problem.  If no solution can be found, you have to log a message to SAP support.
A general advice: do not fight with system for what you think system should accept.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • PO greater than Shopping Cart Qty

    Friends,
We are working on extended classic scenario where PO is created as follow-on document from shopping cart. User can create PO in sourcing cockpit using Process PO option. However here user has the option to change PO qty where system accepts PO qty greater than SC qty. We would like to restrict it.
In R/3 MM we can control this via system message and restrict PO qty to exceed PR qty.
How can we control this functionality in SRM?
    Regards,
    Sandeep Parab

    Hi. Try the BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI.
You should be able to check the quantities and issue an error if the quantity has been changed.

    Dave.

  • Problem with Filtering Data by Using "Greater Than" in APD

    Dear Experts,
First of all, I am a novice of SAP Data Mining. I try to filter data in APD by using the 'Restrict Amont of Data (the Filter Icon).' My problem is really simple. I don't know how to filter data which have value greater than a constant.
For example, I try to keep only records which have a quantity greater than 1000.
At the selection option in the single value tab, I found only the '=' option. The options like '>', '<', '>=', etc are not found. Could anyone suggest me please?

I do appreciate your prompt response.
Seemingly, using the interval is our best solution, though it is not best for our customers.
Having already gone through the note you gave me, in fact, it is really pertinent. Unfortunately, our support package is now 13, and it is extremely difficult to retest our system if we decide to apply the support package 16.
    Are there any other solution?
By the way, you deserve my point.

  • Using Xpath in Receiver Determination for greater than 500

    Hi,
I am trying to use Xpath in the receiver Determination step and I want to check a field which is at item level and comes multiple times(0-unbounded) greater than 500.I tried with different options per SDN blogs,Xpath functions, but still I couldn't able to get what i am trying.I want to process the message when "quantity" is greater than 500,else I want to ignore the message with no errors.
    I gave like this    /p1: /LIST/item[quantity>499]     EX
item loop is 0-unbounded and I need to check for every quantity.I selected the check box multi line as well.
I played around different options, but still did not get what I am looking for.
please suggest in this regard ,how I need to give the expression.
    Thank you,
    Sri

    Hi,
For validating that the item field is occuring more than 500 times you need to choose the
2.The exact XPath would be in your case *(/p1: /LIST/itemquantity[499]EX)*
This means if the 500 th occurance of the item exists then the condition satisfies that is always true for 500 and above occurance of the item.
Please revert if the suggestion proves to be helpful.
    cheers,
    Abhishek.

  • [10g] Way to find least value greater than a value?

    I have a simple (I think) question ...
    Part 1:
Is there a way to determine the least value, among a set of values, that is greater than 0?
    A couple of examples:
    Set of values:
    {0,1,2,3}
    Return value:
    1
    Set of values:
    {0,5,10,20,100}
    Return value:
    5
    Set of values:
    {1,4,9,11}
    Return value:
    1Part 2:
Same thing, but greater than some given value, not necessary 0.
    Set of values:
    {0,1,2,3}
    Parameter value:
    2
    Return value:
    3
    Set of values:
    {0,5,10,20,100}
    Parameter value:
    2
    Return value:
    5
    Set of values:
    {1,4,9,11}
    Parameter value:
    2
    Return value:
4In particular, I'm looking for an efficient way of doing this. I believe I can do it with a set of CASE statements, but it gets really complex the more values you are comparing.
My first thought was to use the LEAST function, but that doesn't allow me a way to use a parameter.
    Any suggestions?

-- this section has been edited
And that's basically where I was heading. I was hoping there was a less complex way to do it... somehow replacing any zeros with an impossibly large number, without using case statements (something equivalent to the NVL function, but to replace any value with another), so that they'd never be less than anything, and then I could just use the LEAST function. The only way I can think of to do that though, would be to convert the numbers to strings, use REPLACE, and then convert them back to numbers, which doesn't seem less complex than the CASE statements, and most likely is worse performance-wise.
    For example:
    SELECT     ord_nbr
    ,     seq_nbr
    ,     time_spent /
         CASE     WHEN     comp_qty     <= plan_qty
              AND     comp_qty     <> 0
              THEN     comp_qty
              WHEN     comp_qty     > plan_qty
              THEN     LEAST     ( TO_NUMBER(REPLACE(TO_CHAR(ord_qty-scrap_qty),'0','999999999'))
                        , TO_NUMBER(REPLACE(TO_CHAR(plan_qty),'0','999999999'))
                        , TO_NUMBER(REPLACE(TO_CHAR(comp_qty),'0','999999999'))
              ELSE 1
         END     AS unit_time
    FROM     ord_detail
;-- end of section edited (I posted before I had fully gone through the solution provided)
I checked the data, and though, theoretically all values could be zero, there are no instances where that happens. I think that, in the case all values were 0, I'd just want to use 1 instead.
Side note on the "big" problem behind this question....
My ultimate problem, (and if I end up needing help with that, I'll start a new post for it) is that the quantity data in our system has a fair amount of junk in it...values that can't be true. With this solution, I would assume that in any case where the quantity complete at a given step of a process is less than or equal to the quantity planned to be complete at that step, the value is good, which is not necessarily a correct assumption. Then, only in cases where something can't be true, like when quantity complete > the quantity planned, are when I would intervene with this solution to make a "best guess" at the correct value. There a few things related to this that I have to determine before I can figure out my next step.
We have another database (so we can keep things straight, I'll call the database I've been querying up til now DB1, and this other one, DB2) that has much more reliable quantity data and step data (sometimes it has steps that aren't in DB1) but its structure is complex, I'm rather unfamiliar with it, and it does not have time spent data. Additionally, some products have all their information in DB1, and none in DB2.
    So my options are to:
    1) ...try to learn the structure of the other database, find the data I need, and query both databases together, using this thread's solution to resolve any questionable data that does not exist in both systems, and skipping any steps that occur in DB2, but not DB1 (since they won't have any time data, which is ultimately what I'm after)
    2) ...try to come up with a method to pre-"scrub" my data in DB1, based on some logical assumptions and looking at all steps in an order, so that I can then just query the scrubbed data...
    3) ...use the solution from this thread, and assume that the bad data isn't enough to significantly impact my calculations...
What I wouldn't give for a single system with all good data!
