PO release indicator = Changeability

Dear all,
I would like to know what's difference between Changeability 3 & 6 in PO relase indicator.
Desc for each changeability are:
3 - Changeable, new release in case of new strategy
6 - Changeable, new rel. if new strat. or value change/outputted
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The changeable Indicator 1 to 4 are meant for Pr release & 1-6 for Po release . Along with this indicator if you assign a percentage of value change in the adjacent colomn it will be effective in line with the release Indicator or status of the PO.With Changeability Indicator how changes to a purchase order/requisition will effect the release strategy ,ie whether the documents old strategy will remain or a new strategy will be derived  and release procedure is restarted.
If the changeability indicator 3   is put in line with any release Indicator and any % is set in the value change colomn , it will imply that beyond that value change if the Po is changed the stratgey will change and a new strategy will be derived .
If the changeability indicator 6   is put in line with any release Indicator and any % is set in the value change colomn , it will imply that beyond that value change or the Po is outputted/Printed out if the Po is changed the stratgey will change and a new strategy will be derived. Generally indicator  6 is set in line with the Final release Indicator ID.

  • Requirement in Release indicator

    Hi Team,
one of my user requirement is like to add a % in value change % column in Release indicator, also they have changable column as 6 ,for example their requirement is
Category     Threshold £           % change allowed before system release - reset     Maximum amendment value allowed
    A1     0 to 25K            25%                                                                                £6250
    A2     0 to 250K           10%                                                                                £25K
    A3     250 to 500K            5%                                                                                £25K
    A4     500K to 1000K    2.5%                                                                                £25K
    A5     > £1000K             0%                                                                                0%
Also for Category A5 does not have an upper limit so if we applied a value change as a percentage we would have no control over the maximum amendment amount without triggering the order to be re-released.  so they would like to add a value change as a u2018valueu2019 not as a percentage.  A maximum amendment value of £25K would be appropriate
is it possible to have a mixture of value or percentages allowed, could we use values in all Categories?
Kindly help me to meet the requirements.
    Thanks

    HI Rohit
A reset of the release strategy only takes place if
           -  the changeability of the release indicator is set to '4' in
case of a purchase requisition and '4' or '6' in case of
another purchasing document (purchase order, request for
              quotation, contract, scheduling agreement),
           -  the document is still subject to the previous release
              strategy,
           -  the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one.
The most important thing to consider in to avoid changes to release strategy customizing once the release strategy is used.
    The commom steps are:
1- make sure all of the old POs should have been released.
2- don't delete/change the original release strategy. create a new release strategy with copy function, then the old release strategy will not be replaced.
3- if you delete the original release strategy and add a new release strategy which the characteristics in classification is same as old release strategy then the PO (have been approved) will be replaced with the new release strategy.
    Kind regards,
    Lorraine

    Hi,
You can use table EBAN wth FRGKZ Field for Release Indicator.
You can t.code:ME5A and click Dynamic Selection and select "Subject to Release" in Purchase Requistion  in Application Toolbar and execute to get the report for your PR's.
1.Enter "YES", It will give report for the PR's which are not Released.

  • How can Change PO Release Indicator to Released Status

    Hi Gurus,
We are having an issue here, which user accidentally re-triggered customized program to re-trigger the release strategy of old PO documents.
This program basically reset the PO release startegy status and update the PO with the latest PO release strategy configuration. It's using FM ME_REL_STRATEGIE_EKKO.
So, currently some of the old PO which previously been fully released and closed PO (with GR & IR completed). So, we dont think that it's right for these old PO to be approved again, also the relevant approvers also refused to do so.
Is there any way that we can use the same FM to change the release indicator to R from S? Appreciate your help. Thanks!
    Regards,
    Michelle

may i suggest you accidently trigger the program to close the release strategy for all POs by modify class characteristics.
and then reopen the  release strategy for necessary POs.
or maybe, you can trigger the program to close the release strategy for old POs.

  • Release indicator in release strategy

    Hye,
I need to  change release indicator in release strategies. can anyone let me know how to do the same
    I have done this in confi -> sap - >mm -> purchasing - >PO - >release strategy and i changed indicator as x to y in release strategy, but i have nearly 500
Is there any other way where i can change directly
    Thx

    HI Raj,
This could be done using a BDC program. Else you can go for any testing tool or SCAT for solving ur purpose.
My understanding is...u r not going to create 500 new release indicators. U r going to change rel indicators in *relase statuses*
    Cheers
    Arun.

  • Field Selection Key In Release Indicator For PR

    Hi,
Can you explain what is the use of Field Selection Key in Release indicator for PR on what basis to select this value.
    regards,
      zafar

    Hi
Field selection key   directs which  values can be changed after the relevant release indicators have been set
Eg suppose you want to supress the field for PR after first release indicator has been set you have to assign the relevant field selection key to Release indicator
you can assign the same to the release indicators in
    spro-mm-Purchasing -PR-Procedure with classification-set up Procedure with classification-release indicators
you can set the field selection key in
spro-mm-purchasing -PR- define screen layout at document level

  • Release Indicator error in the Log

    Hi,
I'm in Workflow, while building the purchase req release workflow, the Released event is not triggered. I went into the SPRO and checked the release strategy, and read the following error msg in the log,
Define a release indicator for the status "released"
But under 'Setup procedure with classification', in Release Indicator, we've already assigned '2' to status 'PR Released', and in Release strategy, assigned the release status to all strategies in use.
Any ideas why the error msg is still there?
    Many thanks,
    Kathryn

    Thanks Steve,
I do have faith in error messages and find it hard to understand why, given I'm not specialized in the MM field.
    This is where I check,
in SPRO -> Purchase req -> Release procedure -> Procedure with Classification -> Setup Procedure with Classification -> Release Indicator
In our case, we have 3 indicators defined,
    B - PR Blocked
S - PR Status (pre-released, ready for final release)
    2 - PR Released
In '2', it is ticked at 'Released for issue of PO'.
Where else should I look for the flags?
    thanks,
    Kathryn

  • Release Indicator for Purchase Order

    Dear All,
While we set release indicator for release of ourchase order, we select changeble ststus of Purchase Order during release.
As per standard if we set 1 - Not changable and after creation of Purchase Order release indicator set as "Blocked" which is having changable status as "1-Not Changable", then also system allow to change Purchase Order.
    Can anybodu suggest solution.

    Hi,
I think You are mistaken by terms itself.
well, whn u refer to CHANGEBILITY Indicator , it is only concerned to RELEASE STRATEGY ( applicable to that PO ) which may or may NOT change automatically based on characteristic value changes in PO.
But this changebility indicator doesn't refer to PO Change control.
Pl don't get confused regarding control excercised by this changebility indicator.

  • Date of Final Release Indicator for PO Release

Is there a table in SAP that provides the date the PO was approved for Final Release? I know that through ME23N you can get this information in the Environment and Header Changes area, but we would like to add this information to a report and are having trouble locating where SAP is storing the data.

    Hi,
    Pass into CDPOS table:
OBJECTCLAS  = u201CEINKBELEGu201D , OBJECTID = PO Number (EBELN), T. Code = u201CME28 or equal to ME29Nu201D and Get all change document no. (CHANGENR)
TABNAME = u201CEKKOu201D, u201CField Name= FRGKE, Old Value = u201C0u201D and New value = u201C1u201D in to CDPOS and get latest change document number (CHANGENR).
Then pass CHANGENR into  Change document No (CDHDR- CHANGENR), OBJECTCLAS = u201CEINKBELEGu201D,
U get who has released and date also.

  • Cancel the Release for PO & PR

    Hi
Once PR or PO released and follow on documents are processed then release can not be cancelled .
If PR is released  and Po has created  , the PR release can not be reversed .
Similarly If PO released and GR has taken for that PO then release can not be cancelled .
How can I achieve this ?
Actually system allows to cancell the release even after follow on documents are processed . I obseved it in our system . Our head of Dept Released one PO and GR was taken , but afterwards he cancelled that release
Similarly If there is two step release ( R1 and R2 ) and PO was release by both . After R2 released the PO then person  R1 should not able to change the PO or Cancel his release
Is there any solution to restrict such situation ? Please provide complete solution

Release Indicator used for this is 2    6 Changeable, new rel. if new strat. or value change/outputted with 5%

    Hi
YOu need to do SPRO setting
SPRO > Materials Management >  Purchasing > Purchase Order > Release Process for Purchase Orders > Define Release Procedure for Purchase Order
Execute it, new pop up will come ..
    then go to Release Indicator
    Changeability                  Short Description
    1                                        Cannot be changed
2                                        Changeable, no new determination of strategy
3                                        Changeable, new release in case of new strategy
4                                        Changeable, new release in case of new strat. or val. change
5                                        Changeable, new release if new strategy/outputted
6                                       Changeable, new rel. if new strat. or value change/outputted
Changeable, new release in case of new strategy
There is another field Know and % Change you can use of that
Tolerance for Value Changes During Release
Specifies the percentage by which the value of the requisition may be increased (as a result of a change to the requisition) after the release procedure has begun.
    Use
By specifying a percentage for changes in value, you can ensure that a requisition cannot be changed significantly after having been released.
If the requisition is then changed, and the new value exceeds the old value by more than the percentage entered, the system issues an error message.
    The user can:
Adjust the amount of the change so that the percentage value is not exceeded
The release procedure continues from its current point.
Leave the change as it is (disregarding the system message)
The release procedure is re-started from the beginning.
    Dependencies
The system only checks changes in the value of a requisition if the Changeability indicator is set to "4 - Changeable, new release procedure if strategy or value changed" for the release indicator Customizing.
Hope things will help to resolve the issue.
