PO release strategy is not triggering if Quantity pre.Qty

Standard SAP design will trigger the 'PO release strategy' if Total net order value (GNETW) is more than set. Lets take if PO created with Qty 100 and Price 50 then first time 'PO release strategy' is triggering when you save the PO. Next time when you change Qty less than the previous value like 80 from 100 then 'PO release strategy' is not triggering but if you enter more than previous value as 120 then its triggering. Ofcourse it makes sense but our user wants to trigger if any changes happened to QTY or PRICE. Is there anyway to trigger?
Found user exit - EXIT_SAPLEBND_002 but not sure what needs to be changed. Can one let me know the solution, if you have any.

Hi.
According to  note 493900, question 4, release strategy is reset only
for some specific case. Alternatively, please question 5 from this note
release strategy might be redetermined. However in order to determine a
new release strategy the field that is changed in PO must be included
as one of the fields in the strategy. Thus there is no standard way
for resetting/redermining release strategy for a change of e.g. text
on header or item level.

  • Rel. strategy is not triggered while creation of PR with cost centr

    Hi Gurus,
While creation of PR release strategy is not getting triggered with cost centre BCWSV870. But release strategy of PR triggered for cost centre BCWSV852 (In PR changed only cost centre as BCWSV852 instead of BCWSV870). Both cost centres are similar and the both cost centres are exist in characteristics value in CL20N for the same release strategy.
My question is why for one cost centre triggers release strategy triggers and for other cost centre release strategy is not triggered. Can you please tell how come this and rewarded for answer this.
    With regards,
    C. Sundar Rajan

    Hi,
In regard to problematic PR with cost center BCWSV870, was your PR maintained with only one line item? or multiple line items?.  In additions, when defining cost center as part of the release strategy structure, did you enter all cost centers with leading zeros?  Tak a further look into OSS Note 365604 for your further investigation.

  • PR release strategy reset after change in quantity/inclusion of line item

If a user adds a line item or increases the quantity of an existing line item to a fully released purcahse requisition, then the system does not render the PR for reapproval. Is there any way to configure SAP such that the release strategy resets if any of the above changes are made in a fully approved PR?

    Hi,
the release strategy will ONLY be reset if one of the fields that are contained in your classification are changed.
    For example
If you strategy is determined by Plant and value, if the plant or value doesn't change then the release strategy will not be affected.
So if you change qty and do not change value then the release strategy will not be reset. This is a basic limitation of the design.
But if you ARE changing one of the characteristic values of your strategy and you are saying that the release strategy is not being reset, then something else is wrong.

  • Release Strategy is not picking up in the PO.

    Hi All
I have defined a Release Strategy for the Purchase Order.
    The Characteristics are
    PO category
    Pur Org
    Total Net Order Value
All the lights are green which i check the release strategy.
But the Release Strategy is not picking when PO is created.
Kindly let me know what is the mistake i have dont or i need to make any corrections.
    Thanks in advance
    Renukaprasad.

    Hi Renuka,
im using ECC6, my PO rel strategy dont have PO catergory,
    but you can try this:
    Maintained PO characteristics:
    PO doc type
    PO Plant
    PO Pur Grp
    PO total Value
Once your PO meet this, Rel Strategy triggres.
When you define the Rel Strategy, there is rel indicator Approved and Block, configure based on your requirement.
    Hope this helps a little

  • PR Release by Item Not Triggering

    Hi SAP Experts,
Went thru the forums on this release issue but could not seem to find the solution for my problem.
I've configured the release strategy for PR (to be released at item level). This PR is basically auto generated after the user entered a Sales Order when they changed the item category.
The following characteristic are being used for this specific class (which have been pre-created as this is being used for other release strategies).
    Acct Assignment cat (CEBAN-KNTTP)
Item Cat in Purchasing Doc (CEBAN-PSTYP)
    Document Type (CEBAN-BSART)
    Plant (CEBAN-WERKS)
    Creation Indicator (CEBAN-ESTKZ)
    Total Value of item (CEBAN-GSWRT)
    Material Group (CEBAN-MATKL)
    Purchasing Group (CEBAN-EKGRP)
I have 2 different release strategies set up due to different levels of approval.
Strategy 1 - Department Manager (for value less than 100K)
Strategy 2 - Department Manager and General Manager (for value 100K and above)
As for the value of the classification, I did not specify all the characteristics.
Acct Assignment cat - Cost Center (K)
Item Cat in Purchasing Doc - blank
    Document Type - ZRR (customized)
    Plant - P101 to P110
    Creation Indicator - blank
Total Value of item - based on the above criteria
    Material Group - ZG1
    Purchasing Group - ZGL
All values above are already ensured that they are allowed values, and I have assigned this release strategy in CL24N.
When I ran the simulation - the release strategy works fine as well.
However, when I wanted to do a test run by creating SO which leads to PR auto creation - the release strategy does not work.
It prompted a message of ME297 in the PR document. Tried to go to ME54N and it shows message MEPO822.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi,
Once check your relarse values in cl20n, cl30n,
in spro->Materials Management->Purchasing->Purchase Requisition->Release Procedure->Procedure with Classification->Set Up Procedure with Classification in that exigute and remove the over all release check mark.
    and in
    spro->Materials Management->Purchasing->Purchase Requisition->Define Document Types
in that do execute for your document type please remove the over all release tick  and save.
    Thanking you.

  • New release strategy should not trgger for PO released with old Rel Strategy

    Hi All,
Please suggest. Po has been fully released with Release Strtgy V1 XX. Now I m replacing release strategy  XX with ZZ. If I change any po which has old rel str XX , system will reset new release strategy as in config changeability indicator 4 maintained.
But requirement is if there is  any change or value decreasing in fully released Pos with old strategy  it should not retrigger new release strategy. If value Increases then New strategy should retrigger.
    Please help me on this.
    regards,
    Rohit

    HI Rohit
A reset of the release strategy only takes place if
           -  the changeability of the release indicator is set to '4' in
case of a purchase requisition and '4' or '6' in case of
another purchasing document (purchase order, request for
              quotation, contract, scheduling agreement),
           -  the document is still subject to the previous release
              strategy,
           -  the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one.
The most important thing to consider in to avoid changes to release strategy customizing once the release strategy is used.
    The commom steps are:
1- make sure all of the old POs should have been released.
2- don't delete/change the original release strategy. create a new release strategy with copy function, then the old release strategy will not be replaced.
3- if you delete the original release strategy and add a new release strategy which the characteristics in classification is same as old release strategy then the PO (have been approved) will be replaced with the new release strategy.
    Kind regards,
    Lorraine

  • Release strategy is not getting Trigerred for Multiple Plants in PO.

    Dear gurus,
I have a Release strategy which is working Fine when I create a PO with Same Plant in line items.
But My release strategy is not getting trigerred when I have Different Plants in Line items.
I have Maintained all the Plants in the characteristic Values of Plant.
Why does the RS work for Single Plant & doesn't work for Multiple Plants in the same PO.
Is there any SAP Note applicable to this? Pl Suggest.
    Thanks guys
    SN

i got your point but i will again say the same thing that for item level field system is not  able to block the po if there are multiple line item in RS and that too with different values against same char as system picks only 1 value and it sends that value in RS to cross check wheteher this po needs to be blocked or not .
now in your case system is getting multiple values against 1 field that is plant so now system is not able to send 1 in backend and hence it sends blank value in back end so system dosent blocks the po
even if you use material group or any other item level field system is going to behave that way only that is it will not be blocking the po

Now i when i create Purchase order& save it  in testing client , Release strategt tab is not appraring in PO
Please help me in thids regardby your valuable suggestions

    Hi,
Please check carefully note 365604 on release strategies in purchasing
which includes some common problems with release strategies.
If the trx CL30N is ok,  It could be that the release strategy was not determined due
to missing code in the user exit EXIT_SAPLEBND_002 in the include
    MM06EF0S_STRATEGIE_CEKKO.
In this case the code e_cekko = i_cekko should be missing  Please
include this line in your user exit and then retest your scenario.
    I hope this helps you

  • Purchase order release strategy Workflow not working

    Hi All,
I am working on PO Approval release strategy and it is not working fine . The release strategy set up is configured by my functional consultant . I just copied the standard workflow template WS20000075 and making changes to my custom workflow template . When ever po is created an event "RELEASESTEPCREATED" get triggered and the first approver receives an workitem and when he approves it goes to Second Approver and it is working fine . But when rejected then a notification email goes to initiator . Now when an initiator login into ME22N and made any changes ( even material text change ) in it then again "RELEASESTEPCREATED" event getting triggered . But I need to trigger my workflow only when there is change in PO Net value .
Kindly help me how to achieve this functionality .
    Thanks and regards
    Dilip

    Hi Vikram,
There is already an existing entry for BUS2012 with event CHANGED against the change doc EINKBELEG .
Acutlly when login as initiator and try to change PO through ME22N here are my observations :
case 1:   When Buyer click on  " Cancel Reject " button and do any changes ( even text change ) then RELEASESTEPCREATED and CHANGED events  are triggering  . But since the event linkaged is set to RELEASESTEPCREATED workflow get restarted again.
Even the CHANGE event does'nt have 'RELEASECODE' as parameter to restart workflow .
Case 2:  When Buyer doesn't click on " Cancel Rejection" buttion and do any changes then only CHANGE event get triggered
which do nothing since there is no event linkage .
Is to  click on " Cancel Reject" button mandatory ? .  But even though we make " Cancel Reject"  as Button mandatory then RELEASESTEPCREATED Button triggering for any change but we need to trigger it for only net Value change .
    Thanks and regards,.

  • Release strategy does not reset after PO change - tried changeability 4 & 6

    Hi,
After my PO is released, I change the item quantity/price such that the net PO value (increased) is changed MORE than the tolerance % set in the changeability.  I expect that the PO release should be reset but it does not.
However if my PO value is changed (increase) such that my PO value is now in a different "release bracket/range" -- as it falls into a different release strategy, then the release is reset.
Could anyone advise me what is wrong?  I tried everything - i tried changeability = 4 and 6. i deleted the whole release class, release strategies and recreated -- nothing.
According to OSS note 493900 below, it should reset when the tolerance % is breached.
    I'm on SAP 4.7.
    Anyone could advise?
    thanks!
         3.  Question :
Why is the release strategy not reset ?
         Answer :
A reset of the release strategy only takes place if
                -  the changeability of the release indicator is set to '4' in
case of a purchase requisition and '4' or '6' in case of
another purchasing document (purchase order, request for
                   quotation, contract, scheduling agreement),
                -  the document is still subject to the previous release
                   strategy,
                -  the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one.
The total net order value is linked to CEKKO-GNETW for a purchase order,
         CEBAN-GSWRT for a purchase requisition item-wise release and CEBAN-GFWRT
for a purchase requisition overall release.
If you have maintained a Tolerance for value changes during release
(V_161S-TLFAE), the release strategy is reset when the value of the
document is higher than the percentage you have specified and if the
document is still subject to the previous release strategy.

    Hi,
    Thanks.
The release strategies are able to be determined correctly when the PO is created so I guess that means its all setup correctly?
The issue is only with PO change - how to cause the reset when the PO value increases by more than the tolerance %.
    cheers.

  • Workflow for PO release strategy agent not found

    Hi all,
I m beginner in the workflow. i  want to create a workflow for the PO. release strategy I have done all the settings in the SPRO for the release strategy. I have copied the standard workflow definition  WS20000075 also done the binding with object type BUS2012. in the steps 'Release of purchase order' i have mentioned the task TS20000166 i.e. 'Release of purchase order' and also maintain the AC Rule 20000027 i.e. 'Person responsible for PO release' for agents. But still its not getting the agents. the workflow is getting triggered but its not getting the agent. What else setting I need to do to get this done.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards.

Very well put Rick. In my case if i simulate this workflow from swdd transaction then it works fine but the same workflow when initiated from ME21N doesn't work and throws same error.
    1. I have copied standard workflow and task 166 is throwing error.
"Resolution of rule AC20000027 for task TS20000166: no agent found"
    2. I have recreated the step but still the workflow is throwing error.
    3. If I execute the rule individually (PFAC_DIS) with a specific PO then the rule works fine. The rule executes the below mentioned exit successfully.
    4. I am using exit to determine the agent, the workflow works fine if I don't use the exit. The exit is EXIT_SAPLEBNF_005. I am just pulling the agent from a ztable.
Please advise if you can help as I have not seen anyone answering.
by the way irrespective of the explicit rule update in the workflow the step executes AC20000027 by default.
Any help on above is appreciated.

  • PO Release strategy workflow not getting transferred

    Hi All,
I have done all the configurations related to PO release strategy workflow but when transferred to Quality certain configuartion done in PFTC workflow builder are not getting transferred.
I also got message like 'release of purchase order transferred to buffer'.
    Please guide.
    Thanks in advance
    Pavan H S

    Hi,
    In QA
    1) Go to SWU3 check Workflow Configuration Done or not
    2) Execute the workflow in SWUS and check it
    3) If it working, test the workflow it via T.code SWUE, If not working then workflow is deactivated
    4) You have to move the Workbench Transport Request first,  then you have to Move customizing Transport Request.

  • SES release strategy being incorrectly triggered

    Dear All,
We have maintained release strategy for Service Entry Sheet. In the SES release strategy class only the following characteristic is maintain

In the release strategy only 'a', 'b' and 'c' users are maintained in the above characteristic. But in the system even if a user f creates the service entry sheet the system applied the release strategy on it too and asks for release code. • Release strategy will not be effected when reduce in amount or when item de

    Hi All,
I have created the PO with three line Items out of 3 items 2 items got GR and Invoce done and 3rd is open NO GR and Invoice
Whenever I delete the 3rd item ,PO is again going for release. Our Client wants that whenever Item will be deleted or PO price will be reduced to the 5%  actual amount Po should not go into Release.
Fields I have used in strategy is Purchasing group,Purchasing document category,Total net order value,USRC1,USRN1 and EKORG.
Release Indicator used for this is 2    6 Changeable, new rel. if new strat. or value change/outputted with 5%
Could you guide me What Configuration I need to change to PO shoud not go into release when PO item is deleted or net order value will be minus after release.

    Hi
YOu need to do SPRO setting
SPRO > Materials Management >  Purchasing > Purchase Order > Release Process for Purchase Orders > Define Release Procedure for Purchase Order
Execute it, new pop up will come ..
    then go to Release Indicator
    Changeability                  Short Description
    1                                        Cannot be changed
2                                        Changeable, no new determination of strategy
3                                        Changeable, new release in case of new strategy
4                                        Changeable, new release in case of new strat. or val. change
5                                        Changeable, new release if new strategy/outputted
6                                       Changeable, new rel. if new strat. or value change/outputted
Changeable, new release in case of new strategy
There is another field Know and % Change you can use of that
Tolerance for Value Changes During Release
Specifies the percentage by which the value of the requisition may be increased (as a result of a change to the requisition) after the release procedure has begun.
    Use
By specifying a percentage for changes in value, you can ensure that a requisition cannot be changed significantly after having been released.
If the requisition is then changed, and the new value exceeds the old value by more than the percentage entered, the system issues an error message.
    The user can:
Adjust the amount of the change so that the percentage value is not exceeded
The release procedure continues from its current point.
Leave the change as it is (disregarding the system message)
The release procedure is re-started from the beginning.
    Dependencies
The system only checks changes in the value of a requisition if the Changeability indicator is set to "4 - Changeable, new release procedure if strategy or value changed" for the release indicator Customizing.
Hope things will help to resolve the issue.
