Poblem with FTP

Hello,
Can anyone help me with an ftp problem? I have a brand new T61 and I can not get any ftp program to work. I am currently using FileZilla which works just fine on another computer with the same os (Vista). I am using exactly the same settings on both computers, so that tells me there is something wrong with this T61.
I just want to see if anyone else has had the same problem or know of anything else I can do before I call tech support.

Problem with FTP Adapter in creating a new Folder

Hi all,
I have a requirement in which a BPEL process shud create a folder named as sysdate dynamically and write a
CSV file into that.(ex: PO/2010-03-09/PO_1.csv).I created a header variable for Oubound FTP adapter and
passing the file directory as concat('PO/',xp20:current-date(),'/') to outbound header directory variable.Problem is FTP
adapter is not creating the sysdate folder its says:1.check u have privileges 2.file name is too long....Blah....Blah.
But i have all the privileges for that user.If i manually create the sysdate folder the FTP adapter is placing the CSV
file.The same works fine with file adapter...but i need to use FTP since the FTP server can change in future.Seems to
be a problem with FTP adapter....can some one help.

Sending XML file from SAP to Windows Based file server with FTP function

Hi Gurus,
We are using SAP BW 3.0B version.
I need to convert data in ODS to XML format and send this XML file to remote server which is not a SAP application server, it is just a Window Based file server with FTP function..
By writing some ABAP code I have converted ODS data into XML format (which gets saved in my local system)
(Is that I need to put this file in Application Server to send it to the other servers? )
Now the thing is how I can send this file to that Windows Based file server.
plz suggest me.... what can be done......

I dont think the above code support windows OS. Because I always execute this script via UNIX.
I think you can try this option, go to command prompt, goto the destination path where you have an XML file using cd....
ftp (destination servername), specify the username and password.
afterthat, use the command put and filename.
check whether the file had reached destination successfully or not.
For automation purpose, you can use the following script like
ftp: -s: test.txt (servername)
In test.txt,
UserName
Password
bin
cd /files
put file.xml
bye
Also, you can check in SM69, there will be some SAP external commands to automate the file transfer.

Is CPA Cache refresh linked with ftp or file pooling process in XI?

Hi,
I have a file to file scenario using Transport protocol as FTP in XI 3.0 SP 15.
When we try to sends some file using ftp protocol where we are using
FTP connection parameters
Server = <CORRECT IP>,
Port = 21 ,
User name <CORRECT NAME>,
Password <PASSWORD> ,
Data Connection = Active
Connection Seq = None
Connection Mode = Permanently
Transfer Mode = Text
Processing Parameters
Quality of Service = Exactly Once
Pooling Interval = 1 sec
Processing Mode = delete
File Type = Text
File encoding = utf-8
The problem we are facing like some time the ftp is not working even the file is present in the location for pick up. If few files are stacked up to be collected then when we are using CPA Cache refresh in Full mode manually then it fetches all the files from the location but the problem is that ,we have a time constraint for this process to be completed in just 60 seconds if we are not able to pick up a file in 60 Secs then the file will be treated as invalid.
So I just want to know how Manual CPA CACHE refresh in full mode generally solve the problem.
Next if more files will be stacked up then cache refresh also failed to solve the problem and more cache refresh result in NOT pooling any other files in XI including the above discussed flow.
So,in anyway Cache refresh linked with ftp or file pooling process in XI?
Please assist me in correctly understating the whole problem and what solution could be put to solve this.

Hi Suraj,
If you see my query i have mentioned that the pooling interval is 1 Second.
If we are not able to pick the file with in 60 Secs as this is a real time scenario so the file will be treated as a invalid file.
Moreover this problem is happening some time.
I have also checked the component monitoring it is saying everything is ok as because we are receiving the file with out any error and the file transfer is also success.The only problem is that it is not collecting the files from the given location.

Slow Connection with FTP and SSH after a migration from 10.3.9 to 10.4.6

Hi all,
I just move my server from 10.3.9 to 10.4.6.
I import all my users and settings.
When i try to connect to my server using FTP or SSH, the connexion is slow.
I have to wait arround 45 sec before connecting to the server ( i never wait with the old 10.3.9 )
ex of connexion + delay
I enter : ssh myuser@myserverip
server : Password: ( 26 sec after i hit the return key !! )
server : Last login: Tue May 9 11:57:03 2006 from XX.XX.XX.XX ( 2 sec after )
server : Welcome to Darwin!
It is faster than the first time because the server must store some datas of recent connected users.

I'm not using a DNS server inside our firewall because I'm not sure how it works. I have DNS service turned off on the OS X Server.

Cant do a file get from external server using file sender adapter with ftp

Hi all,
Up until now our company has only used the file sender adapter with ftp protocol to get a file from our XI server for processing and input the file into an integration process
I have a requirement to do an ftp file get from an external server
From our XI development server I can ftp directly to the external server and view the required directory using the command window via a DOS prompt (FTP open ...). So all firewall issues and communications are fine
Unfortunately I cannot currently pull files from the external server using the XI file adapter with ftp protocol from the XI development server AWB017
FTP Connection Parameters: External server name using port 21, Data Connection is Passive, No security, I supply a userid and password
Processing Parameters: Processing Mode is Archive (I tried test but this did not work either)
No messages appear in the RWB
Is there something else that I need to set up in order for the external ftp get to work via the XI file adapter?

I have found the error messages in the File Adapter Monitor
Scenario 1
When I prefix the source directory with a forward slash, eg /Folder/Subfolder the error message is as follows
EST: Error: Error connecting to ftp server 'ip address': FTPEx: /Folder/Subfolder: The system cannot find the path specified
Scenario 2
When I DO NOT prefix the source directory with a forward slash, eg Folder/Subfolder a different error message is returned
Error: Retrieving file 'FILENAME.XML' failed unexpectedly: FTPEx: Folder/Subfolder: The system cannot find the path specified
At least in this scenario the adapter has been able to identify the file on the external FTP site but cannot retrieve it
Questions
I thought that the backslash prefix for the source directory was mandatory but I am receiving an error in each scenario
I receive the same error message whether the Processing Mode is 'Archive' or 'Test'
The logs on the external ftp server seem to indicate that I am simply connecting, sending username and password then quiting straight away. I am not issuing any commands that they can see
I thought that being a Sender adapter it would inherently execute a Pull or Get command
To recap, from our XI development server I can ftp directly to the external server and view the required directory using the command window via a DOS prompt (FTP open ...). So all firewall issues, communications, userid and password are fine
Has anyone experienced these issues?
Please advise on next course of action?

File Matching with FTP Adapter

Guys,
I have particular requirement where FTP Adapter needs to read set of files
FILENAME.PCL
FILENAME.I01
the file name would be matching but extensions are different.
the adapter needs to read the file match if they are SET of files ( based on file name) and move into target directory if not move into Error Directory .The Data needs some manipulation before it's written into target location so we are using ESB ( also for error notification) is it possible with FTP Adapter within ESB?

File Sender Adapter with FTP protocol

Hi,
I implementet a file sender adapter with FTP protocol. There is a problem: the sender processes the files even if they're in use by another application.
I.E. If another application put files (via ftp) in the sender work directory (that is on ftp), the sender processes those files before their transfer is completed.
I don't want that this sender in a communication channel in PI 7.1, imports files in the system when they aren't completed yet.
There are some ways to block sender before it processes incompleted files (in an ftp)?

File sender adapter provides a check for NFS mode

To specify additional parameters in the adapter configuration, set the Advanced Modeindicator.
● Msecs to Wait Before Modification Check
Enter the number of milliseconds that the adapter must wait before it checks whether the files have been changed.
This parameter is not available if you have selected File Content Conversion as the Message Protocoland then made an entry under Recordsets per Message that splits an input file into several messages.
This parameter is applicable only for the File adapter. If you enter a value in this field when configuring the sender FTP adapter, it will have no effect.+
Other approach can be to apply OS level checks

Problem in CC with FTPS Adapter

I try to connect with a partner with FTPS Adapter, I load the certificate from server and have the next error:
Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "server:21": iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Error decoding Certificate: java.security.cert.CertificateException: iaik.asn1.CodingException: ASN.1 creation error: iaik.asn1.CodingException: ASN.1 creation error: iaik.asn1.CodingException: ASN.1 creation error: iaik.asn1.CodingException: ASN.1 creation error: iaik.asn1.CodingException: ASN.1 creation error: iaik.asn1.CodingException: ASN.1 creation error: iaik.asn1.CodingException: Too long integer in ASN.1 type Enumerated, length=8
I try too with a certificate created in XI in the Visual Administrator, but don't work, the error is the same.
The channel is in Sender mode.
Somebody help me please with this problem?

Duplicate file with FTP sender

hello everybody,
i have the "Duplicate file problem with FTP sender " with my XI 3.0 sp23.
So sometimes my file adapter load 2 times the same file.
I found this link :

You can use any of the solution according to your requirement.
In one of my scenario i used solution 1 (module creation).
In XI3.0 i think there is no sap standard fix for this issue (but i am not sure).

Problem in Connecting with Ftp

While Connecting to the ftp i am getting the folloeing error.
"An error occurred while connecting to the FTP server 'mn01crm02:21'. The FTP server returned the following error message: 'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 /usr/sap/SAP MDM 5.5/Server/Distributions/D11_ORCL/ADCWECC/Inbound/SAP_ECC/NewPort2/Ready: The system cannot find the path specified. '. For details, contact your FTP server vendor."...
Previously port was not opened now the port issue has been resolved. Please focus some light on this error. what can be the possible ways to overcome this error. Considering that i have gven user namr and password correctly (TO connect with ftp) in sender file adapter.

The error is surely of the Path .
Just perform the following steps.
1. Logon to the FTP machine.
2. Go the Folder where the FTP is configured....(d:/ smflder/ FTPFolder/ Parent Dir/ Child Dir)
3. Now in communication channel if u have used the path say (Parent Dir/ Child Dir)
4. Then specify the Parent folder also in the channel for e.g. (FTPFolder/ Parent Dir/ Child Dir)

JCA Binding error with FTP Adapter on put operation

I am facing a problem with put operation with ftp adapter. my soa service will get file from the 1st ftp server (Unix) as attachment and is putting the file on another ftp serve(Unix)r. the put operation is failing with the below error:-

this is a SFTP server and the corressponding property is set to true on the configuration. I had also recreated the jndi again & also increased the max connections to 700, but still facing the same issue. Also i am able to ftp the files to this location through filezilla. Problem with FTP put operation..??

hi frendz,
i'm facing some problem with FTP put operation. The Get operation(reading a file) is working fine. i'm using Apache FTP server.FTP User is having all read/write permissions. When i putthe file using FTP command prompt then its working fine. But using BPEL/FTP adapter put operation is not working.
Main thing is its not giving any error but When i check the directory then i dont fine any file ther. In fact BPEL process is detecting directory where i'm going to write the file. But after completing the BPEL process i dont get any file.
i am using opaque fomat. n just passing some data into input string which i'm assigning to <invoke>'s variable.
