POC for BI-IP

Hi,
In my project ,I heard they are going to prepare POC (Proof of Concept) for a BI-IP Project.can anybody explain me in detail what is POC .

Hi
This is notting but a presentation wher you explain both technical and functional specifactions for a the objects developed.
to be more presize , its a high level documnet where top level managemet can understand the senerio.
here in your case they are creating a PPT for BI with integrated planning.
Proof of concept is a short and/or incomplete realization (or synopsis) of a certain method or idea(s) to demonstrate its feasibility, or a demonstration in principle, whose purpose is to verify that some concept or theory is probably capable of exploitation in a useful manner. A related (somewhat synonymous) term is "proof of principle".
The proof of concept is usually considered a milestone on the way to a fully functioning prototype.
In computer security the term proof of concept (proof of concept code or PoC) is often used as a synonym for a zero-day exploit which, mainly for its early creation, does not take full advantage over some vulnerability.

  • Using IFRS Starter kit to build a quick POC for Client

    Hello Friends,
As IFRS starter kit comes with a packaged solution, I was planning to use the same to build a quick POC for the client. However, I am seeing issues with basic functions like Data Loads. I updated the Dimensions members with the client specific data. I am getting error mainly with the Interco dimension. For some reason, when I tried to process this dimension, it kept waiting for server response indefinitely. I see this problem only with this dimension. In this context, I have the following questions:
    1. Can the starter kit be used with custom data?
    2. If so, is there any better way to overcome these issues?
    Please advise.
    Regards,
    Ven

    Hi,
The kit can be definitely be used with customer data. The functionality doesnt depend on what data you have. Rather, it depends on how the configuration has been done. There is definitely something wrong in the IntCo dimension, because of which it might be getting stuck. I believe its just getting stuck. Can you try to maintain only few members in the dimension and then try again? Are you able to process all the other dimensions?

  • POC for BW Implementation & need to explain how it benefits them????? Help!

    Hi All,
    Good Morning...
    Message from my PM:
Secondly, they wish to have a POC. Can we arrange the same ASAP, after meeting the client today and taking a small case?
We need to explain to them how BW will really benefit them from the point of view of usability of the system and helping them in generating reports to their advantage.
So, i need to prepare POC for BW Implementation & also i need to explain them how it benefits them.
If u have any document related to this, Kindly share with me.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
POC is Proof of Concept, it is basically when there is a requirement for the client on any new concepts, it will be worked inhouse of your company and initially you need to complete the implementation with some test data and prepare a overview of that concept, so that it can be given demo to the client and if the client is impressed with the end result, they will agree to implement the same concept.
    Hope this helps............

  • Complaint-Need POC for Escalation beyond "Management Team"

We returned an iPhone 5 through the Edge program in November and our account has been charged for a failure to return equipment charge in the amount of $334.  Since that time, we have placed numerous phone calls to Verizon to verify that the phone was received and tickets were subsequently created during each call to resolve our equipment charge. Each call we were assured that the phone was received in the warehouse, and that it would take 2-3 billing cycles for the equipment charges to be removed from the account.
When we continued to inquire why the charges were still on our account and late fees were accruing, we were notified that the tickets were not being routed properly to the warehouse to locate our phone.  When we further inquired with phone calls, we were advised that the warehouse received a return from us, that there was a iPhone 5 in the box, but that the serial number that they received didn’t match the phone that they were expecting.
I spoke with someone on your Management Team March5th and he tried to help locate the device.  He provided IMEI serial numbers for all phones that had been associated with this phone number in the past and asked that I get in touch with Best Buy to seek other IMEI serial numbers so that he could locate the phone (I had used the warranty program through Best Buy just before trading it in the Verizon Edge and that is the reason for the difference in serial numbers). Ultimately we could not resolve the issue.  We have asked that the charges be removed from our account our that the representative from the Management team return the box with the iPhone 5 in it that the warehouse received in November from us.  He advised that he could not remove the charges or locate the device and there that “If” the device had come through the warehouse it had probably been refurbished and reprovisioned.  He also added that he couldn’t be certain that we didn’t send an empty box.  This was an odd comment as the each representative that we spoke with in the past have all verified that the warehouse had indeed received an iPhone 5 from us, and we now knew that the confusion was focused on the serial number not matching on the phone.
I take great exception to the change in discussion after 4 months that I would dishonestly send an empty box to Verizon.  My wife and I are Federal Homeland Security Employees, have been loyal Verizon Wireless customers for years, ensured that we utilized the Best Buy warranty program to send a working phone back to Verizon.
When I originally signed up for the early Edge program, I anticipated that it would be seamless.  I had no idea that 4 months later, countless hours of my time would be spent frustrated, calling Verizon for status, worried about my account, and now being insulted by the Customer Service Management.
Please put me in touch with someone that can resolve this issue swiftly.  The representative we spoke with yesterday stated that there was no one with more authority than him to resolve this issue.

i am in the exact same boat.  i am a sheriff sergeant, and i have been with vz for years!  i switched to the "more everything" plan...and it has been "more of a headache" than anything.  two non return device fees added to my account, and i have returned 5 fives.  three they cant find, one they sent back because it was late, and one they kept (the nicest of the bunch that was mailed the exact same time).
there "customer service" folks obviously don't know the definition of that phrase, and "andrew" supposedly the "Manager" told me they would refund the amount of the one phone they kept, but not the other.  i told him i was dissatisfied with the outcome and wanted to speak with someone above him.  he said "the problem is resolved."  i reminded him that i was the customer, a good, long term, always paying customer, and i did not think it was resolved.  he assured me that it was.  i demanded he direct me to his supervisor.  he said it would take a "call back" in 72 hours.
i will be returning all phones, paying my actual usage charges, NOT THE BOGUS FEES, and i will take my long term, 280 dollar a month bill to AT&T.
the higher ups in the company should realize the subordinates don't have a concept of what it took to build an empire like verizon has become.  but like every failed business before, verizon will collapse if they do not get back to basics of "Customer Service."

  • Trying to go for POC (BW ON HANA) is such POC  posssible ?

    hello friends ,
i am extremely new to this community , thus would like to have some guidance from experienced people like you for making poc (bw on hana).
    my query is ,
1)what factors needs to be proved while making POC ?
    2) from where i shall get  such huge data and where shall i store it ?
    3) Should the  POC be  , about saving of replication time or compressing of data?
4)should the data be replicated once or periodically it needs to be done.?
also i would appreciate if anybody can share the steps of making POC (BW ON HANA ),
i am not asking for any confedential data , but the basic steps to go for  POC .
    KINDLY HELP ME ON THIS.
    THANKS
    MARTIN MATHEW

    HI martin mathew,
Just to understand a bit more:
Are you trying to do a POC for yourself, then probably I would say it might not be possible.
There are a couple of ways in doing POC.
    1) Normally SAP or its partners do a POC for the client, where in they consume the client Quality or Production data to showcase the customer some of the advantages of the product.
EX: Through a POC, a vendor can show the customer that using HANA, the query execution time of  a complex report can be reduced to 2 minutes from 1 hour.
I would say POC has 2 advantages:
    a) Can win the confidence of the customer
    b) Can showcase the power of the product.
    1) what factors needs to be proved while making POC ?
--> Purely depends on the environment, landscape and the customer requirements
    2) from where i shall get  such huge data and where shall i store it ?
--> In most case, customer quality or production data is consumed
    3) Should the  POC be about saving of replication time or compressing of data?
--> Purely depends on the environment, landscape and the customer requirements
    4) Should the data be replicated once or periodically it needs to be done.?
--> Purely depends on the environment, landscape and the customer requirements
    These are my view points.
Let's see if some our colleagues here wants to explain more on these topics...

  • Results analysis for POC method with statistical cost element

    Hi,
We are testing ETO (engineering-to-order) scenario With valuated
project stock and cost based POC RA method.
Inventory is updated during external procurement and we have used
statistical cost elements (Cost element category - 90) for inventory G/L.We want to use a
Result analysis method which considers this statistical cost elements
for calculating POC.For this purpose we have implemented SAP Notes
    616960, 616869 and 78420.
In short, as per SAP note 616869, we created a customer enhancement
project for customer enhancement 5 of the results analysis (see Note
H78420). We copied the source code for customer enhancement 5 of the
correction instructions of note 616869 and then implemented SAP note
616960 to read the statistical actual costs.
Then we included the statistical cost as actual costs - Category K in
    OKG4.
The system is doing POC and revenue in excess of billing calculation
correctly after taking into consideration the posted statistical cost.
During settlement of RA (CJ88), system is not giving effect to
inventory value. On settlement of RA, revenue should be recognized but
at the sametime the inventory represented by statistical posting should
be consumed(COS). The system should post a P&L posting which reduces
the inventory (representing statistical cost) and updates the actual
    costs on settlement.
    In our example, Statistical actual
posting is of USD 57150, planned revenue USD 100000 and POC is 70.27%.
Revenue in excess of billing comes to USD 70265.60. Recognisation of
revenue of USD 70265.60 is not correct as actual consumption is yet to
happen. The correct posting in FI should be revenue of USD 70265.60
along with COS of USD 57150.
Please suggest why on settlement the system is not posting the COS
    along with revenue recognised?
    Thanks,
    BK

    Hi Bijay,
We are in a similar situation in one project.  Did you get any solution to the problem you posted here? If you can share it, please.

  • Data is not getting loaded using the Demon for RDA

    Hi friends,
We are doing a POC for Real Time Data acuisition.
For this we have copied an exisiting datasource and made it Real Time enabled.
Replicated the datasource now we can see the new datasource in BW.
We have created an Init Info Package (This loads only till the PSA).
Loaded the data using Full DTP to load from PSA to the DSO, this succesfully loaded the data in the DSO.
After that we Created a Delta Info package and a Delta DTP and assigned them to a Demon and started the demon. But strangely i can see the delta data getting Loaded to the PSA but there is nothing happening on the DTP. When i check the DSO manage there is no Delta request. The only request what we have is the Full load.
Is there any step or something im missing? please guide me.
    Regards
    BN

    Hi,
Deactivate the aggregates and then load the data from PSA to Cube.
And then reactivate the aggregates. While reactivating them you can ask to fill them also.

  • Urgent help required to make variableRowHeight & rowCount work hand in hand for a Datagrid

    HI,
I am using variableRowHeight property on a datagrid to wrap the text and this works perfectly.
At the same time, I have to assign rowCount dynamically. My logic for caluculating rowCount is rowcount = sampleData.length > 5 ? 5:sampleData.length; where sampleData is my ArrayCollection. The caluculation happens correctly.
The issue here is rows of the datagrid do not show correctly.
From the post http://forums.adobe.com/message/2350643#2350643 I understood that both variableRowHeight & rowCount do not work hand in hand.
So, I tried removing variableRowHeight and it works fine. The solution says using measureHeightOfItems and viewMetrics to calculate the height may solve the issue. I did not understand it very clearly.
Can anyone let me know the solution with example.

  • Are the WLS 9.1 Web Service Ant Tasks ready for prime time?

I am trying to create a Proof of Concept (POC) for Enterprise and B2B Services at Wendy's Int'l, Inc.
As part of this POC, I created a WSDL for an in-house service and then used the wsdlc and jwsc Ant Tasks to translate this WSDL to Java classes and ultimately (I hoped) a deployable services.
In this document, I describe the issues I encountered setting up what I consider to be a simple POC.
I'll try to attach my WSDL file and build.xml so you can follow along.
I'll also try to attach my CSS file so you can compare how the generated WSDL appears in the Browser to the way I want it to appear.
If attachments are not allowed on these forums, then I will wait and see if there is interest in those documents before I paste them under this topic.
Some preliminary information about my environment.
    Environment:
         Windows XP Pro SP2
         WebLogic 9.1
         Java 1.5.0_04
    Service Name:
         AppRelease
Note: If I modify my WSDL (perhaps to add a new Operation or to change the definition of an element) and run wsdlc again, the AppReleaseSOAPPortImpl.java file is overwritten For this reason, I implemented my service logic in a class called AppReleaseServiceImple.java.
    Now, for the issues.
    1.     Bug:
In the WSDL generated by wsdlc, the wsdl:part child of the wsdl:message tag is erroneously prefixed with a colon.
This occurs whether or not I specify a prefix for the http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/ namespace.
Work around: Extract the wsdl from the jar file, fix it and add it back into the jar.
    2.     Bug:
In the WSDL generated by wsdlc, the wsdl:input and wsdl:output children of the wsdl:operation child of wsdl:portType tag are erroneously prefixed with a colon. Like 1 above, this occurs whether or not I specify a prefix for the http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/ namespace.
Work around: Extract the wsdl from the jar file, fix it and add it back into the jar.
The error message generated by Bugs 1 and 2 is not helpful in diagnosing the problem:
    [jwsc] Error at line:46 col:7 ':' expected [?! -- [CDATA[ ]
    3.     Bug:
In the WSDL generated by wsdlc, the documentation elements have all of my html elements stripped out, as well as my xhtml and wsdl namespace references. This completely negates one of the best features of the documentation tag, being able to present the WSDL in a browser as a nicely formatted, human friendly document which is also the underlying WSDL that can be viewed when the person views the source document.
I label this as a bug because it greatly reduces the functionality of the resulting WSDL.
    4.     Annoyance:
The WSDL generated by wsdlc has all of my comments stripped out, except the comments in the xsd:schema section of the wsdl:types element. I would prefer that all my comments be left in the WSDL, but if comments must be stripped out then I think all of the comments should be stripped out.
    5.     Annoyance:
The WSDL generated by wsdlc has my CSS specification stripped.
Work around: I don’t know if adding the CSS back will do any good because I have not yet created a deployable service (see the last issue below).
    6.     Annoyance:
The WSDL generated by wsdlc has different namespace prefixes than the ones I specified for my application's namespace and for the http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/ namespace.
Work around: Perform a find/replace on namespace prefixes "s0" and "s1" to return them to my prefered values.
Another thing I can do at this point is simply replace the generated WSDL in the jar file with my original WSDL. This would address issues 1 thru 6 above.
    7.     Annoyance:
The java source files created by wsdlc are put into a jar file. This makes it annoying when working within a traditional IDE like Eclipse because there is no way to reference the source files within the jar as working source.
Work around: Extract the source files from the jar and identify the resulting directory structure as part of the source structure of the project.
    8.     Bug:
The jwsc task complains if the same parameter name is used in multiple operations. I received the following Errors from jwsc:
    [jwsc] C:\IDE\workspace\Acre-WL9.1\AppReleaseSOAPPort.java 0:0
[jwsc] [ERROR] - Parameter element "{http://acre.services.wendys.com/AppRelease/}garRequest" is not unique across document/literal bare WebService.
Since the operation names are unique, I see no reason to also require uniqueness in the parameter names used by those operations.
Work around: Use unique element names for the input parameters of the services operations.
    9.     Bug:
Once items 1, 2 and 8 above are taken care of, jwsc fails with the following error:
    java.lang.AssertionError: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: weblogic.j2ee.descriptor.ApplicationBeanImpl
This seems to be due to the weblogic.jar file not being in the System Classpath.
However, I should note that when I set verbose="on" and debug="on" in the jwsc ant task, there was a message from the task which stated "[jwsc] [search path for class files: [big freakin’ jar list]". In the big freakin’ jar list, I did find weblogic.jar and weblogic.jar has the required ApplicationBeanImpl. This indicates to me that the jwsc task does not fully honor either its classpathref attribute, nor an embedded classpath element.
Work around: Make sure the weblogic.jar is in the System Classpath.
    10.     Bug:
I fixed bug #9 by running a setDomainEnv script and then ran my ant task. This time I received the following output:
    ant build-serviceBuildfile: build.xml
    build-service:
[jwsc] 1 JWS files will be processed.
    [jwsc] Processing JWS: C:\IDE\workspace\Acre-WL9.1\src\com\wendys\services\acre\AppReleaseServiceImpl.java
    [jwsc] JWS: C:\IDE\workspace\Acre-WL9.1\src\com\wendys\services\acre\AppReleaseServiceImpl.java Validated.
    [AntUtil.deleteDir] Deleting directory <some temporary directory>
    BUILD FAILED
    java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
At this point, I am completely stymied about how to proceed.
I wonder what new issues await once this 10th issue is addressed.
Really, is this tool set ready for prime time?

<i>Sorry to hear you are having so many issues with using the WLS 9.1 web service Ant tasks, inside of Eclipse.
I generally create a User Library for the couple weblogic jars needed, and use it (the User Library) in my Eclipse projects that I create JWSes in.</i><br>
I also have a separate WebLogic Library in Eclipse (actually 2 libraries since I work with WL 8.1 and now WL 9.1). As you may know, one of the long-standing issues with the Ant integration within Eclipse is the fact that Ant, being an External Tool, does not receive the Project-specific Paths/Libraries. However, since most Java-relevant Ant tasks can take classpath and classpathref attributes, this is usually not an issue. In the case of the BEA-supplied wsdlc Ant task, it is apparent from the verbose/debug console output that wsdlc can see the jars in its classpathref, but it ignores those references when resolving class references and instead only uses the system classpath.
    <p>
<i>I've only needed the weblogic.jar and xbean.jar, not all the ones you mentioned in an earlier thread of this post.</i><br>
I have not tried to winnow down exactly which jars are required. I simply included all the jars that exist and were added to the system classpath by the setDomainEnv.bat file created by WebLogic 9.1.
    <p>
<i>Afterwards, I create an Ant Builder to build the JWS Web Service EAR, as opposed to fiddlin' with Eclipse.</i><br>
I too use Ant to build my deployable archives. Eclipse is simply my IDE of choice. I validated that all the issues I listed occurred when running Ant from the command line.
    <p>
<i>If you are interested in how I do it, send me an e-mail (to [email protected]), and I'll send you a zip of one of these JWS projects. The build.xml script for the project, takes care of a lot of the "annoyances" you mentioned, one of which I think is not accurate. I have never had a situation where the wsdlc Ant task "overwrote" my XXXImpl.java file..</i><br>
Since I'm doing a POC to determine how we want to proceed with developing Web Services and an SOA in general, I tried to perform the same tasks using Axis 2 1.0, the WebLogic 9.1 tools, and XFire 1.1. Overwriting the Impl class is a common failing in the tools which take a WSDL and create Java source files for all three frameworks.
    <p>
Try my scenario. Add another operation to an existing WSDL, and run the wsdlc Ant Task. The old IMPL class will be over-written.
    <p>
Because of this, I have a separate Impl class and I make sure that all its methods and annotations match the methods and annotations in the Skeleton Impl class created by wsdlc.
    <p>
<i>Maybe that's because I use the <exec> Ant task with jar.exe (the xvf options) in my build.xml, to only get what I need out of the .jar/.zip the wsdlc generates. I'm typically only interest in the interface class that my XXXImpl.java file needs to implements, because I use XMLBeans for the input args (and return values) of my web service operations.</i><br>
Perhaps. I am not using XMLBeans in any of the three frameworks because the resulting service seems to be lighter-weight in all three frameworks if XMLBeans is not used. I'm sure there will be scenarios where XMLBeans is preferred, but I have not encountered that case in this POC.
    <p>

    Mike Wooten</i>

    Hello ashishl,
Thank you for your question regarding obtaining the Facebook and Twitter applications.
All of the applications that BlackBerry makes are available via the BESC.
Here is the link for the site: www.blackberry.com/besc

  • POC calculations of internal activity and service activities

    Hi,
I need some help regarding POC.
In the scenario, I am using two activities----Internal and service.
The internal Activity is used only for scheduling and confirmation of activities. There is a work center attached to it, but there is no cost attached to it.
The service activity is only related to cost.
Now, I want to calculate the POC for internal activity similar to the MSP i.e, POC calculated at the activity level will role up to give the POC at the WBS level ( this POC will  be related to the POC as per the confirmation of the work that is the actual % of completion).
To calculate the EV only the cost from the service activity will work. i.e, the actual cost which is coming from the RA Bill (ML81n) and the planned cost from the services in the service activity. So this POC will be different from the POC calculate in the internal activity confirmation.
How to map both the scenarios in the same project ?
    Kindly furnish some idea.
    Regards,
    A. Bose

    Hi Abhra,
You can use both activity types if required but I would recommed you to look up on the three types of activities so that you are able to choose the best option that fits your business requirement:
    1) Internal
    2) External
    3) Service
You can use confirmations for both service as well as internal activities. This will help you with your POC calculation as the values will be aggregated to the WBS level. I tried to inquire from you which EV method you are using because that may assist you in determining the POC of activities (either service or internal) based on specific requirements.
Now for EV to work you need to plan cost at the activity level for fair reflection (please note that this is also aggregated at the WBS level therefore if you do not plan cost at activity level, you will however get some estimated value at the WBS) of earned value. Based on your statements, I assume that EV is being calculated for the service activity correctly (as it has planned and probably actual cost) but not for the internal activity. I'm afraid without planned and actual cost, EV cannot be calculated. Have you tried using cost from the work center (which is assigned to a cost center)? You may use activity types in the confirmations as well.
Please let me know if this is what you were looking for.

  • S curve, POC

My client has trunaroun/shoutdown project and has only 20-25 days of total durtion and each days has many activities which is completed hour wise or day wise.I am using TIME PROP measurement method for  progress analysis. but in CNE5 report they only show the current date progress when CNE1 has runned.
Is it possible can i see plan POC for days wise. i mean i need to get report day wise that showing the each day plan POC and Actual POC of completation as well.
please give any new idea or other method to cater this requirement. your response will be appreciated.

  • Best Approach for Use Case

    Experts,
I am creating a small POC for a search engine. I am thinking on what is the best way to achieve the below scenario
    1) Assume like in Google i am entering some data in the text box. I want the area below the text box to show the records (leaving aside from where the records is fetched - DB or flatflies) based on user input values and change as an when new characters are entered or deleted.
I guess contextual events clubbed together with regions will help me in this but i need to know if i am thinking in the right direction.
    2) My other page has registration which contains 3 sections (logically) say Emp, Dept, Country. All the EO have validations defined on them. Now the user can only enter Emp details and proceed, or Dept details and proceed. So in such a case how do i skip the other section validations.
I guess sub forms can help me in this
    Please advise.
    Jdev 11.1.1.4 and beyond.

    Hi,
you didnot get the article..I explains the wizard type interface with next functionality where validations is not fired at first but during at commit time.....
When i commit how do i make sure that only Transaction level validation is fired for the tab/section of one Entity only ?That article don't meet your usecase.....
SkipValidation will only skip validations when you need to navigate along with immediate="false"(default), but it wont allow you to commit unless and until your eo validates.
I guess SkipValidation set to Custom would help me Wrong..
Lets say i have a page with 3 tabs or a single page with 3 sections each sowing data from diff EO. Each EO having validations defined on them.In that case you need to supress the validation of that eo using some flag workaround .. as i explained you in my previous post !!
just set the flag to 'DRAFT' to supress the validation of that eo before commit..
Using it as EntityLevel script validator would be better.
