Pocketmac - sync problem - gets "hung" during calendar sync

I have a Pearl and have downloaded the pocketmac. When syncing it seems to get hung during the calendar sync potion. No error messages - it just gets hung up and doesn't seem to go any further. Any help would be appreciated. Thx!

  • Keep getting error during Calendar sync

    Phone: Torch 9810
    Computer: MacBook Pro
    OS: 10.6.8
    BB Desktop: 2.40
    Hi,
I've used a BB for quite some time always sync to my Calandar (iCal).  Usually when I install an update to the BB desktop, the phone does not sync as well initially.  Then it tends to work itself out.  So, I kind of hate when the updates come out for this reason.
Recently, I updated to the reccomended version 2.40. If I sync everything together I get an error message (see below). I can sync everything fine except the Calander, if I sync the other stuff first by themselves, i.e. Notes, Contacts, Tasks.
Then I sync the Calander.   It actually partially syncs the material but tends to leave out the newest data.  It does show that the phone synced, but the sync never fully completes.  I continue to get this message: "An error was encountered while syncing ZERO. Please retry the sync."  I've never seen this error message. And, I've seen A LOT of error messages through the years while syncing.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions on what I can do to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Don

    Hey dgensler,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest performing the following to get the sync working:
    1. In BlackBerry® Desktop Software for Mac go to Device>Forget Data.
    2. Close down BlackBerry Desktop Software and unplug the BlackBerry® Torch™ 9810 smartphone from the USB.
    3. Plug it back in and open up BlackBerry Desktop Software and then setup the synchronization again and test.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Whenever I try to sync my ipod touch, it doesn't work.  The computer seems to get hung.  What could be happening?

Whenever I try to sync my ipod touch, it doesn't work.  The computer seems to get hung during the back up stage.  It says it is backing up the ipod but nothing happens, for hours.  I eventually have to interrupt it and give up.

    I have the latest itunes.
    I tried resetting sync history.
    For this section:
If the issue persists, and you know all your contacts, calendars, bookmarks and notes are on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Remove all of the contact and calendar information from Outlook.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" make sure Contacts and Calendars are not selected.
    Click Apply.
This doesn't seem to make sense for my situation.  I don't sync anything between outlook and my ipod touch.
I have no other USB devices connected to my computer.
I have no other Windows users on my computer - only me and I am the administrator.  However on my diagnostic, it said this user is not the administrator.  Weird.
So I have tried to follow that you referred me to, but still I haven't got it working yet.  Do you have any further suggestions?

  • Sync gets hung up on datebook/calendar and will not complete

I am trying to sync my handheld and laptop.  The sync starts OK but when it gets to the calendar/datebook, it seems to just hang there.  The calendar info is on my handheld but somehow got lost from the desktop application.
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

I read through some of the other posts and came across the dbfixit application.  I have it installed on my Tungsten E2 and when I ran it, I also got an error message regarding a "blob" on a particular date.  When I erased all of the garbage from that date, I was able to sync the Tungsten to my laptop.  I still have no idea why the calendar disappears from my laptop every now and again.

  • Google contact sync gets hung since 4.4.2 OTA android update

My S4 stopped completing Google contact syncs after the last Android update. All other Google tools complete the sync (App Data, Calendar, Drive, Gmail, etc), but the little arrow circle next to Sync Contacts stops spinning and gets hung. At the bottom of the screen, the Cancel Sync button stays on indefinitely.
    Eventually, this error message shows:
"Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."
I've force stopped and Cleared Data on the "Contacts Storage" in Application Manager.
I've removed and re-added the Google account.
    I've done a factory reset.
I've done multiple combinations of the above 3.
Can you get me a quick fix, put me on a beta Lolipop, or revert me back to the previous stable build of Android?

I'm sorry you can't sync your e-mail accounts with your Galaxy since the update CoolGeorge. I would be extremely frustrated if my accounts weren't syncing. Let's get this fixed. When did you get the update on your phone? Do other apps sync on the phone? (Such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.) Please try removing the accounts from your phone, clear the memory, http://bit.ly/R0eeM7 , then restart the phone. Once this is completed, turn phone back on, download the accounts again, and try to sync. Let's see if this helps. Please keep us posted.
    Thank you,

After reinstallation of Outlook 2010 on my Laptop, Contacts and Calendar did not appeared while they are exist in my iphone 5 by using icloud. What I should do to get Contacts and Calendars in sync with iphone 5?
    Thank you.

So you have business contacts that were lost... do you not have these on a Database in some shape or form? Sounds like you need to invest in a RAID1 backup setup for your computer so you dont have this issue in the future.
As for repairing your problem, sounds like you are going to need to start from scratch at this point or if the data is still on your phone look into a program that can take the information from the phone onto iTunes.

  • Syncing ipad to mac get hung on step 7

I have been having various problems today with audiobooks and podcasts. The latest thing is that when I try to sync my iPad3 to my Mac, it gets hung up on step 7 "waiting for changes to be applied." Have tried several times. Anyone know of a solution? Anyone know what step 7 really is? If it involves communicating with Apple's servers, that might be an explanatoin. I think my othger problems are about that. The servers are overloaded with downloads of ios7 and new phone activations.

OK.... I think I found a solution. I just did this, haven't thoroughly tested it. And it required a step that scared me, but didn't turn out to be too time consuming, and at least as far as I can tell so far, I haven't lost any data.
I did a reset on the iPad. Not just the low level reset, this one is labeled "Erase all content and settings." When you do this, it gives you some warning that you are really pretty much wiping your iPad clean, and it gives you a choice of restoring from your Mac, or from the Cloud. Since I am not really using the cloud much, it turns out my last backup on the cloud was a while ago, so I went with the backup from my mac, which was from earlier today.
I think the process took maybe 15 minutes. I just checked, and syncing happens as expected, does not get hung up at the end. The audiobook that I want to hear is now working. So are my other audiobooks. Looks like all my apps are there. My emails are there.
If I risked anything by doing this, I am not aware that catastrophe was incurred. I am happy to have fixed it. And I remain unhappy that the whole thing happened. I was completely in to hearing this book. And in the last two days since things went haywire, I spent six hours in the car, time I could have put to better use. Oh well. I am healthy and all the wiser. Hope this helps others.

I'm running iTunes 10.5 on my Macbook Pro and software 4.1 on my 2g iPod touch and having problems getting photo's to sync. Same error, "iPod can't be synced req'd file can't be found". Tried deleting the photo cache, restoring the iPod etc but to no avail.

    Try here:
    iTunes: Unable to sync photos
Usually deleting the iPod Photo Cache Folder works. Note that if you sync via the folder method, make sure you dlete all the ifolders since :
The iPod Photo Cache stores the photos that are optimized for display on your iPod, iPad, or iPhone. The location of this folder depends on the syncing options you select. In iTunes, if you change the selection in the “Sync Photos From” pop-up menu, a new iPod Photo Cache folder will be created (and the previous folder will remain).

  • Sync problem caused by birthday calendar

I can't sync between my iPhone 3G and my Powerbook anymore.
Looking into the log, the problem seems to be coming from a problem with a birthday calendar (please see log at the bottom of this post).
I have a clue, how the problem might have been created:
I installed the "2do" app on the iPhone and synced it successfully many times (vie WLAN). Also, syncing my address book and calendar was no problem. Then suddenly in my iCal a second "Birthday" category popped up. The first one was the subscription from the birthdays in my address book. The (new) second birthday category was identical and duplicated my birthdays in iCal, so I erased one of the two (I don't remember which one).
Since about this time, no syncing is possible. I tried to erase the sync-history in iSync, but it didn't help.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem/conflict?
I would be happy if someone told me how to erase all calendar, address book and syncing data from my mac and to recall all data from my iPhone if that's a promising strategy...
    Thanks in advance!

I'm interested in a good solution for this problem because I've got the same problem when using TimeLog and trying to creat a new task.
The possibility to restore the ical-calender into ical fails due the same message as sputnik6 posted above.

  • HT201253 iPhone sync using iTunes gets stuck at Calendar and Contacts

This used to work a little while ago, and I cannot pinpoint when it stopped working - I can't
sync Contacts or Calendars to my iPhone 5s from my Outlook 2010 via iTunes.
I think it might have been the latest iOS release on the phone that messed things up, but I am
    not sure.
Whenever I try to sync iTunes hangs at 'Syncing Calendars' or at 'Syncing Contacts' depending on
which one I choose to sync. If i uncheck both options, under  'Info' in iTunes, the syncing will
complete without issues, but I really need my Calendar entries and Contacts ESPECIALLY.
    Here is what I tried:
    - Repaired, Removed reinstalled Outlook 2010
    - Repaired, removed reinstalled iTunes (12.0.1.26)
    - Tried to sync with a different User's profile for Outlook, a version that had all of my
Contacts and Calendar entries, and also a clean version with no Calendar entries.
    - Reset Sync History on iTunes
    - Deleted old backups and retried the syncing...
NONE of the above allowed me to successfully sync Outlook Calendars and Contacts with my iPhone
    PC - Windows 7, i5-2400 @ 3.10, 16 GB DDR3
    iTunes - version 12.0.1.26
    iPhone - 5s 16 GB, Version 8.1.1 (Verizon)

I had it hanging on Calendar sync as well ...
    This worked for me:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
I also had crazy dupes of calendar items previously except on my iphone, so the idea was to get the singular calendar of events synced back to my computer. So ...
I made sure Calendar was empty on my computer: ~/Library/Calendars/
    Cleared out. Emptied Trash.
Then per above link, cleared sync services from terminal:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsync .pl full
Plugged in iPhone, set my prefs again, sync'ed. Went thru the sync quickly and got everything back to normal with only single events.
The key here (on dupes) is to have at least ONE version of your calendar in good shape. And that may be thru your iphone backups.
(sorry I know I switched thread topics, but sync and dupes seem to go hand in hand)
    Hope this helps.
    Rich

  • HT1386 any ideas on why my phone sync to pc gets hung on 2nd step of backing up? i leave it for hours....

i leave my phone plugged in to sync and it gets hung up on the backing up stage, 2nd to be precise its iphone4 and yep itunes is up to date

If you have windows try this:
    Quit iTunes.
Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories>right-click "Command Prompt">choose "Run as Administrator")
Once in the command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset" (with our the quotes) and press ENTER.
    Reboot your computer.
    Restart iTunes.
Connect your phone and try syncing again.
If you have a mac, or if you have windows and this doesn't fix it, you probably have a corrupt iPhone backup from a previous sync that must be deleted. To do this open iTunes, go to  Preferences, on the Devices tab you will see a list of your backups.  Click each backup and click Delete Backup.  Then connect your phone and try syncing again.

  • PocketMac Sync Problem

Why does PocketMac sync work fine with a direct cable connection, but when in the BlackBerry sync cradle/pod it only charges and PocketMac Sync doesn't work.  PocketMac "Device Status" shows the connection has been made using the sync cradle/pod, but when you select anything to sync, they're all greyed out until the direct cable connection is made. We're only talking two contact points on the connection, whether direct or via the sync cradle, so it should work.  Thanks for any insight.
    LarryMcJ

Yes...but I found out from PocketMac this can't be used.  It's a moot point now anyway as I finally had enough of PocketMac not working...for anything, and am now using the Blackerry Media Sync app (still beta) which does a great job.  Maybe someday BlackBerry will release a true Desktop Manager, like the one for Windows, for us Mac users.  Until then, I'll keep an old Windows laptop handy for no other purpose than the BBDTM.
