Pocketmac sync stalls

I recently installed Leopard on my Mac and since then each time I have tried to sync my Blackberry with my Mac the sync process stalls during 'synchronizing calendar'. It is set up to sync with my iCal and experienced no problems prior to installation of Leopard. I have installed the latest version of PocketMac SyncManager and the drivers. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Same here with a Pearl (8100), with the latest firmware updates (4.2.1.107) from the carrier (t-mobile). I installed and reinstalled in various ways the new PocketMacForBlackBerry4.1.25.dmg for Mac OS X, and it always stalls.
This is such a piece of garbage software that it's unbelievable it even came out the door.
The precious version would not only take a while to sync, it would saturate the CPU while doing so.
This version does not saturate the CPU, however, has the following bugs:
-  it does not sync at all, even leaving the sync overnight
-  when the BB is connected the program will not even start properly. the icon bounces in the dock as if it's coming up, but it never does. only after removing the BB that it comes up
- it crashes very often
I even tried including some tips I found about removing the driver files in /System/Library/Extensions/BlackberryUSB* before reinstalling the new driver (DriverUpdate.3.1.3B.dmg).
This is utterly frustrating, as I must keep my addressbook and the BB all synced up at all times!
Even as I hear that the iphone is not great for email, I am considering switching due to this *&#@*&@! software.
Anyone has any solutions for this?

  • Error 3 - Skipping. Device not detected. Bold & PocketMac sync issue

I am having issues getting my MacBook to recognize my BB Bold when trying to sync with PocketMac Sync Manager. When connecting through a USB - the device is not detected and so a sync can not be performed.
Blackberry support have instructed me to install/uninstall drivers and pocketmac which I have done as instructed yet nothing is working.
PLEASE can anyone help with solving this??

    This worked for me finally:
Mac needs to "detect" your BB
Go to the BB menu (general)
On the BB - go to Options
    Then go to Memory
There are a number of settings here
    Media Card  = On
    Encryption = None
    MTP = ON
    Mas Storage = On
    Here's the ONE:
AUTO ENABLE MASS STORAGE MODE WHEN CONNECTED = YES
As soon as I did that - the next time I synched - the Mac "found" the BB and the BB PIN was there.
Synch for Contacts was very good.
    Good Luck!

  • PocketMac Sync Problem

Why does PocketMac sync work fine with a direct cable connection, but when in the BlackBerry sync cradle/pod it only charges and PocketMac Sync doesn't work.  PocketMac "Device Status" shows the connection has been made using the sync cradle/pod, but when you select anything to sync, they're all greyed out until the direct cable connection is made. We're only talking two contact points on the connection, whether direct or via the sync cradle, so it should work.  Thanks for any insight.

Yes...but I found out from PocketMac this can't be used.  It's a moot point now anyway as I finally had enough of PocketMac not working...for anything, and am now using the Blackerry Media Sync app (still beta) which does a great job.  Maybe someday BlackBerry will release a true Desktop Manager, like the one for Windows, for us Mac users.  Until then, I'll keep an old Windows laptop handy for no other purpose than the BBDTM.

  • How to get out of syncing stall

I am trying to sync songs from itunes onto my ipod and the syncing stalls. I figure the track is bad and the ipod doesn't know what to do with it so it just spins it's wheel.
My question is: What is the best way to get out of the this situation? I had been force quitting itunes, and eventually it just destroyed three fourths of my playlists in itunes. I was advised to disconnect the ipod. After restarting itunes, I delete the problem song and try to sync the playlist again. (I have been manually loading each playlist, one at a time). Any advice?
    Besides get a new computer?

I experienced the exact same problem with my 20gb iPod G4 click wheel as well... this issues seems to have started with the latest update to iTunes..

  • PocketMac Sync Manager Will Not Launch

    Hi--
I have several times installed successfully the download for PocketMac for my Blackberry Storm on my Mac.  When I click on the desktop icon to open the sync manager, I always receive this message:  application PocketMac Sync Manager quit unexpectedly.  I try relaunch several times and continue to receive this message.
Does  anyone know how to resolve this issue so that I can launch PocketMac and begin my set up?
    Thanks

  • Iphone 4G syncing stalls with Info and Status files. File type is QuickTime Preferences.  How do I fix this?

iTunes syncing won't complete.  I monitored the backup file and it stalls at the Info & Status files.  They have a File Type of "QuickTime Preferences".  How do I correct the problem?

    1. There is no iPhone "4G" model.  Do you  mean iPhone 4 or 4S?
    2. Try deleting the last backup before syncing:

  • 3.0 sync stalls on "Backing up iPod"

So, I got 3.0 and have not been able to successfully sync my iPod since. iTunes will show that the iPod is syncing and display the progress bar, but during the backup stage, it stalls around 1/3 of the way. Not a complete freeze of iTunes, but it stops progressing. Any suggestions?

I accidentally figured out how to avoid that back-up because I was being impatient. Before you try to install 3.0, sync your iPod the same way you usually do to add albums, etc. When it starts to back-up before it syncs, you just press the little black circle with the x in it and proceed to sync all your stuff. When that is all done, try installing the update again. It went right to it for me.

  • Pocketmac Sync Problems

About a week ago, pocketmac pretty suddenly started failing to sync my contacts and calendar and such to my Pearl. it crashes a lot, often before it can start, but always before it can finish, mainly after it says it's done with calendar (but calendar nonetheless doesn't sync). When I try to sync contacts and calendar, it seems to try. It checks with me whether to go ahead and remove things from the device, but it's never anything I set it to do, which is odd.
I don't really know what's wrong, but the cable must be sound, because it's able to sync emails I sent from the phone to the sent folder on my mac. At one time I tested the demo of missing sync, which didn't seem to work either. I don't know if that means anything.
I've tried the remedies listed online, but, needless to say, they did not do the trick. I guess that I would have to pay Blackberry for tech support, which is unfortunate.Does anyone have any idea

It might be helpful to know what steps that have been tried and how they were accomplished.  Especially since there a lot of great members on here who may have the answer you are looking for.

  • Pocketmac sync with BlackBerry is taking so long.

Please help! I have a mac with a leopard OS and I downloaded pocketmac for my BlackBerry Curve 8330 so that I could sync my contacts and calender. I use iCal and Address Book. At first everything appears fine, it two devices connect and the sync starts, about half way through when it gets to my calender it stays there for almost an hour! I really don't have that many appointments in there but I have only been able to complete a sync once and that was the first time I attempted it. Is this normal? For the sync to take upwards of 2 hours?

    Welcme to the FRums!
I am not familiar with the pocket mac, but a BB friend sent me this link - see if this answers any of your questions

  • ITunes sync stalls

I'm having trouble with syncing my phone to iTunes.  I have an iPhone 4s, running iOS 7.0.4, and iTunes 11.1.5.
On occasion, when I'm trying to sync my phone to iTunes, the syncing operation will just stall.  It varies exactly where in the process it stalls - it could be on waiting to backup, it could be on determining which apps to sync, or it could be on waiting for changes.  But when it does, it's just spinning the progress bar and not doing anything.
The thing is, when this happens, nothing else seems to be wrong.  My phone will still work, and I can still navigate through the other areas in iTunes.  It's just that the syncing operation doesn't complete.  If I try to quit out of iTunes, it will warn me that the sync is still happening and ask me if I want to quit anyway, which I confirm that I do.  And then it just won't quit.  I can't get it to actually work again unless I actually shut down and restart the computer.
Any explanation for why this is happening or how to fix it without restarting my computer?  Such as if I decided to set it up to sync while I'm working on something else?

The only option for you is to put your iPad into recovery mode and restore it from a backup file you have created before the update. You can try the way mentioned in this article If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Everyone at some time has logged out at end of day, walked away as the Home sync 'barber pole' progresses, and come in to the same screen the following day. Cancelling the stalled Home Sync screen allows  the logout to complete and return to the login screen...

  • PocketMac Sync duplicates Address Book

Each time I sync my BB Curve via PocketMac it puts everyone in my Address Book on my BB twice.  Is there a way to make this stop?  I tried to revert to the first sync to make it go away but it did not.  Before I manually go in and delete duplicated address book entries, is there an easy way to do this?

  • PocketMac Sync Questions

Using PocketMac (latest version with updated drivers) and an 8330 Curve.  I can successfully push all the music from my iTunes "BlackBerry" playlist to the device, and same with my selected photos from iPhoto.  My question is how can I do a sync if I want to add/remove some tunes in the BlackBerry playlist or add/remove photos from the albums selected for syncing in iPhoto?
I thought PocketMac was supposed to "sync" this content...but it appears all it does is push it out to the media card and dupes whatever is there already.  This clearly isn't as functional as the Windows BlackBerry Desktop software.
Lastly, in PocketMac when I click on "Utilities|Browse device files and folders" absolutely nothing happens.  Same for "Install/Uninstall software on device"  Is this the best BlackBerry can do for Mac users?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Blackberry pocketmac sync specifics

Could anyone tell me exactly what syncs with the blackberry pearl through pocketmac?
For example... does the notes section of an ical event show up on the pearl?
Is there a list anywhere of what syncs with different phones?
    Thanks
