Podcast approval no response

Most of my submitted podcasts got approval in 1-2 days, except those two:
http://feeds2.feedburner.com/cctvglobal_soccervideo
http://feeds2.feedburner.com/cctvexploringvideo
I wonder why I never got response back for them. Please take a look, thanks.

Neither podcast will be accepted: a login is required to view the episodes and iTunes does not allow this. You need to make the files directly accessible.
Other than this your feeds are mostly OK, though FeedValidator does throw up some minor errors you might want to look at. The only important one is that in the feed at
http://feeds2.feedburner.com/cctvexploringvideo
you have managed to duplicate the episode '第一犁——纪念中国农垦事业发展建设60年(一)' - this isn't actually serious as it would simply be ignored.

  • How quickly to get a podcast approved?

What kind of time frame does it take to get a podcast approved? Is it hours, days, weeks, etc... It is my first podcast and the client it hoping to have it out there within 3 days and I would like to let him know if that is even reasonable.
    Thanks

If it's an audio podcast then you can eithet stop it (via the pause) control in the iPod app, or you can use the audio controls on the taskar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and there should be rewind, play/pause, and forward icons.

  • Podcast Approval times (waiting in limbo)

    Greetings all,
I have created a new podcast and have about 8 Episodes now. I use soundcloud.com to host my content and well as the rss feed link.
I have submitted my podcast to iTunes over a month ago. I have not got any word back about my approval status.
I have looked on line for answers, and have tried to contact support directly (email said i'd receive a response in 48 hours, that was a week ago.)
Can some one help me out, what more can I do? Is the approval process really over a month long wait?

Your podcast will have been rejected, though you should have received an email telling you so.
The issue is the podcast image: it is 1400 x 1400 px as specified, but it is also 1.2MB. This is far too large - it must be less than 500kB. You need to remake the image with more compression to get the file size down, then resubmit.
When you do so you may fall over a bug in the system which will tell you the feed has already been submitted. If this happens you will need to change the title slightly (you can change it back once accepted).
Make sure that any emails from the Store are coming to a functioning email address and are not getting spam-trapped.

  • Silly Podcast approval question

Ok this might be a silly question but when I submit a Podcast to my Podcast Producer server and choose to submit for approval it does the work and an email is sent to me telling me that it has been submitted for approval and the path to the files. That's all good so far - My question -
What am I supposed to do to approve or reject the podcast??????
    Thanks in advance
    Gary Finch

It's a completely manual process right now. You'd have to take the stored recording and resubmit it through Podcast Capture (or some other means) if it's approved, or do nothing if it's not!

  • Podcast approval?

I am currently trying to get my second podcast up on itunes.  This is the feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/societyc3.   I know the feed works, and it successfully submitted and I got that email from itunes, but it's been nearly a week and I haven't heard anything else.  Aprroval or denial.  Do they contact you to let you know if it's denied?   Last time I got the approval email the following day.
    Thanks

It can sometimes take several weeks for a podcast to go through the acceptance process. When it is accepted (or rejected, though hopefully that won't be the case) you will get an email telling you so.

  • Podcast approval time

I just submitted a podcast for the first time. What is a benchmark for how long it will take before I know if it was approved or not? Just curious what the average is.

I can't answer from experience - mine went up three years ago and I don't remember how long it took - but the assessment process is manual, and there are an awful lot of podcast out there, so I wouldn't be surprised if it took a couple of weeks at a guess.

  • Podcast Approved.....Then Rejected.

Submitted a Podcast a few days ago. It got approved, then the next morning I got an email saying it was rejected and all my episodes were taken down right away. I didn't really change anything other the just some basic information. What is my best course of action? Try to resubmit it?

It's frustrating that when the Store staff reject a podcast they never actually say why.
Possible reasons include technical problems, failure to update, strong language when the 'explicit' tag is not set to 'yes' (which yours is), copyright violation, racism, and unacceptable content (for example the sort of unpleasant photographs people get arrested for owning - I'm not suggesting you've done this!).
If you feel like publishing your feed URL it may be possible to offer specific comments. Apart from that, a common reason for rejection is people posting 'mixes' of commercially available recordings without clearance.
You should look at your podcast to try to determine if there is a problem, and when you think you have corrected it, submit it anew. There is a bug in the automated process which will tell you that a podcast of that name has already been submitted (which is true but takes no account of its rejection) so you will need to make a small change to the title: you can always change it back when the podcast has been accepted. If you can change the feed filename that may also be a good idea, but depending on how you've created the feed it's not always possible.

  • Podcast approval timeframe

I submitted a podcast over a week ago as I wanted to get the feed submitted prior to our first eoisode. I called the first episode file a "Test" file and the feed was promptly rejected under the grounds that it was a test. I was however instructed to resubmit once we had a first episode. I did resubmit 2 days ago and I have heard nothing. I am wondering if the feed has just been black listed because of the first test episode or if this is a normal time frame. If I remember correctly our other show was accepted in only a few hours, but that was over a year and 90 episodes ago.
    Thanks,
    Mike

There isn't any standard answer: sometimes people are lucky and get accepted quickly; sometimes it takes several weeks. I usually offer a guess of two weeks, but it does vary a lot. As it's only two days I'm not surprised you've not heard back yet. I shouldn't think the fact that you started with a test episode (which as you've found they don't like) will affect things now you've submitted a real episode.

  • Podcast has been approved by iTunes but is not working

    Hiya -
iTunes just let me know that my podcast has been approved - here's the feed:
    http://churchnext.tv/feed/podcast/
And when I follow the link to the podcast it says 'Page not found'-
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast//id494175337
I am on a Wordpress site using podpress and everything seems fine-
    Can anyone help?
    Chris+

    Hi Roger-
Exactly! So what does this mean? Was this podcast approved even though there was no content reviewed? How could it have been approved if the file was not found? How is it fixed?
    Thanks for your help-
    Chris+

  • When will iTunes approve my podcast? What else can I do?

What else can I do to get my podcast approved? iTunes rejected my first attempt as a test because all I had on the host site was a 35 second clip. Now that I have 5 episodes up and some are over an hour what's the issue? I resubmitted for approval 5 weeks ago and haven't gotten an answer and recently deleted that first clip to have 45 min- 1 hr episodes only listed...no rejections...no anything. What the heck?

iTunes support, for problems with podcasts, is at
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.

  • Approved podcast with no content

    Dear Apple Team,
i added a new podcast episode.
This is the xml file:  http://comstylz-records.de/podcast_comstylz_electronic_dance_music.xml
I already received the "iTunes Store Podcast Approved Notification" message with the following podcast URL: https://itunes.apple.com/de/podcast/podcast-electronic-dance-music/id878065821?l =en
The xml file got 5 podcast episodes.
There is currently no content to see.
Background: I wanted to update our podcast episodes. (this is the current podcast file: https://itunes.apple.com/de/podcast/podcast-electronic-dance-music/id852318865?l =en)
After adding the above xml file, i got the answer that this podcast is already added. In this case i just renamed the xml file and added the podcast again. That worked.
When i open iTunes, i can see the info about 5 items but there is no content.
the main idea was to add the may podcast episode.
    What solution do you have?
    Many thanks and best regards
    Alex

    Hi Roger,
    thanks for your feedback.
There is still no content to see.
Does it makes sense to add the podcast one more time?
    What do you prefer?
    Thanks in advance
    Alex

  • Podcast Rejected DJ Mix

Hi, my podcast has been rejected. It's a DJ mix and I fear it's because of copyright issues although I read somewhere iTunes doesn't accept responsibility for copyright. Other DJ mixes are on there too. After reading lots of advice and tutorials for DJs to get their mixes onto iTunes I planned my podcast and learnt how to get it on iTunes, not once was copyright explained as an issue. In case it's a technical issue here is the link to the feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/SimmoJ-YouWantFresh
    Thanks

If you have music in your podcast from any of the major record lables - like say - Coldplay - which you have in your podcast - then there is little to no chance you will ever get your podcast approved.
You need to make sure all your music is 100% Podsafe and does not come from any major record lables.
Even if Coldplay themselves gave you the rights to Mix their music - they don't have all the rights themselves - their Record lable has some and the record labels do not give podcasts the permission to make mechanical copies - which is what a podcast download is legally.
So if you want your podcast in iTunes - you must get rid of all RIAA music.
    Best of Luck,

  • My Podcast Episodes are NOT Indexing in iTunes.

    Hello all!
Thank you in advance for the help of this great community.
    Ok, here we go:
Podcast Episodes NOT indexing on my iTunes URL page.
1.) RSS is live and works (episodes can be downloaded by podcast subscribers)
    http://zenvirtualassistants.libsyn.com/rss
2.) URL is live and works:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/zen-virtual-assistants-podcast/id912879481
3.) Hosting at Libsyn is working fine too.
    4.) Subscribers can download fine.
5.) Podcast approved by iTunes and URL page is live
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/zen-virtual-assistants-podcast/id912879481
    6.) PROBLEM:
Episodes (5 in total) CAN NOT BE SEEN/ARE NOT INDEXING on iTunes URL page.
What do I do to solve this please?
Thank you so much for your help and solutions!
    Sincerely,
    Joel

You've fallen over a long-standing and intermittent bug in the Store where it claims to be showing the correct number of items (you will notice that it says 'Total: 5 items') but in fact either isn't showing any or isn't showing all of them, although all the episodes appear when subscribing. There isn't really anything you can do about this yourself as the problem lies with the Store, not your feed. It usually sorts itself out in a few days, but it's worth emaling Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking them to re-index your podcast as this may speed things up.

  • How can I change the category for my podcast?

I just had my podcast approved, but the category is not correct.
I checked Powerpress and I selected Health-->self help, but in itunes it's listed under the general Health category.
Also when I submitted to iTunes, it said my secondary category was sexuality which was not correct.
How can I fix my categories and make sure they are in the right places?
Again I check Powerpress and I have the cateogries I want, but it's not showing up in iTunes.
    http://getbusylivingblog.com/feed/podcast/
That is my feed if it will help.

Sometimes the Store will show the wrong category during the submissions process. Wait until it's actually in the Store and see whether it comes out correct there - the feed itself is correct.

    <Email Edited by Host>

It's a really bad idea to post your email address - it's an invitation to spam - and I've asked the Hosts to remove it. This is a user-to-user forum and no-one is going to contact you by email.
Your feed is at http://pod.ssenhosting.com/rss/ftpom1.xml . It contains one episode, and when subscribing this shows in iTunes. The iTunes Store web page at the address you give shows this episode, but the iTunes Store page within iTunes does not, even though you may notice that it claims to be showing one episode.
We've seen this peculiar behaviour before; it appears to be a glitch in the Store and as you've evidently done your part correctly there isn't really anything you can do except wait and hope it sorts itself out.
You could try emailing Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com, but to be honest I doubt you will get any sort of useful reply - though you've nothing to lose by trying.
