Podcast Audio Files Not Playing In Browser

I have a music podcast on my site, built by iWeb8. On my last podcast addition I published to folder and opened the site from the folder on my machine. Everything was fine except the browser would not play the MP3 files (VBR) of the podcast. I can open and play these files with quicktime but it does not work when viewing via the browser.
These files also play in iWeb.
Any ideas or suggestions?

I think that everybody but Apple agrees that QuickTime is not the best way to play audio files on the internet.
The statistics show that over 90% of surfers have flash.
If you're having problems with Firefox, what chance have you got with IE?
iWeb '08 coverts your MP3 files to .MOV.
'09 seems to have addressed this issue.
I stopped using QT about a year ago. This simple flash player is easy to implement and has the advantage of buffering....

Audio file not playing when previewed or pulised on only one slide

I have one slide that the audio will not play unless the you click on the play button in preview or when published. All other slide audios are working fine and will play automtically when the next button is clicked on the previous slide. I have tried changing the name of the audio file, deleting the sled and the fiel and staring over etc. the audio file were created in another program and then brought into Captivate but thia has not been a problem with any other production up to this point. Any suggestions?

Powerpoint - audio file not playing

Hi I created a PP presentation using PP 2010 and I inserted an audio file to play automatically throughout the whole presentation. I email it to a friend and it plays perfectly on her computer at home. However, when she tries to play it on her laptop at
school (they have Office 2007) the music doesn't play at all.
I've told her to delete the audio file and insert it again but it still isn't working - any suggestions?

What's the format of that audio file? Convert its format to .wmv and re-insert it.
Please copy the audio file onto desktop and directly play it through Windows Media Player, does it work?

Swf file not playing in browser

I have a problem with a swf file which will not play in web browser.
It played fine until I updated my site. I therefore suspected a pathing issue within dreamweaver and looked thorugh that forum for an answer.
I tried typing the absolute path to the swf file in the browser address bar and found it straight away. When I clicked on it the screen stayed blank.
I checked the path to the file and the flv file was relative to the document and not the site.
swf plays fine in flash player, flash, and locally on dreamweaver.
I moved the swf up the file tree and changed the links accordingly but still would not play.
I also tried saving it as a new swf from flash, but that doesn't play either.
I added another swf to the containing folder and that played fine in the browser.
When I open the fla file in flash it only shows a flv playback movie, not the elements, I think this is because it was created in after effects.

I have other swf files playing fine and this swf played ok originally so I still think it's a pathing problem but I am not that savvy on flash and cannot figure it out.

The .swf is loading just fine... but it is expecting to load a .flv video file.
The path inside the .swf to the .flv file is not correct. The path inside the .swf to the .flv file needs to be relative to the .swf as it's located on the Web page, NOT the physical location of the .swf.

So unless your .swf is broken, it just a pathing issue.

Pathing issues
Almost always when it works on the local machine and not the server, it's a pathing problem.
You can put your Flash related files in whatever folders you want, they do NOT have to be in the root, they do NOT all have to be in the same folder. But if you have a problem and if sticking them all in the root folder works, then you know that the issue was a pathing problem.
Just remember that paths used in the .swf become relative to the Web page on which the .swf is placed, NOT it’s physical location. So for example, if your .swf is in the flash/data folder and you use that .swf on a Web page in the root folder, you are in effect, removing that .swf from flash/data and putting it in root. So if the .swf is loading any related files (xml, images, video, etc), the path used inside the .swf to load the .xml file has to be relative to it's new location in root and then back down into flash/data. This is true even though when testing the .swf by itself, it can be inside flash/data and work just fine, since relative to it's location, the path is just fine, they are in the same folder. But if that same path is used when the .swf is placed on a page two folder levels up, the relative path has changed, the old "same folder" path will not work.
In fact if you are placing the .swf on a web page in a different folder than the .swf is stored in, and that .swf calls external assets, then direct clicking and opening of the .swf in it’s folder should NOT work! That’s because the paths to the external assets should be relative to the Web page and not the physical location of the .swf.
So just be sure that you use addresses relative to the final Web page locations (not physical file locations) and you can put the Flash related files in what ever folders you want.

Audio file not playing - CS6 After Effects

I am taking a Motion Design class and the .mov file that has the audio clip I need was provided by the instructor and worked in class using CS5 After Effects. When I try to work on the movie at home, the audio file does not play. Does the audio file have to be a different file format to work with CS6?

Audio File Not Playing

Morning All,
A few weeks ago I took a load of video and audio footage for a video I need to make for work.
I did exactly what I have done in the past - set 2 cameras up for visual and use an external clip on mic, plugged in to a Dictaphone for audio.
I then drop all the files into PP and edit away. Everything has worked fine in the past.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, having done the same thing, I noticed that the Audio from the Dictaphone would not play back in PP. It works fine in everything else (Window Media Player, iMac Media Player, After Effects etc). The audio from the cameras play back, it's the audio only file from the Dictaphone that wont. Everything on the PC is up to date, in fact, I have since had a new PC.
I'm honestly struggling to figure out why the audio file will not play!

Another tiny update. I have found a .WAV file at 176kbps which plays (I think this came from a different source). The .WAV files I'm having problems with are 384kbps.
The dictaphone has the option of recording at the following:
32kbps
64kbps
128kbps
192kbps
384kbps
But as highlighted before, I have used the 384kbps files before without any issues.

Audio files not playing

When I export a Keynote project as a Quicktime movie, the audio file becomes a separate quicktime file. Documentation says you can discard it, but when i do that, the audio won't play with the main movie.
And when I email the main movie, the audio doesn't go with it.
Anyone know how to fix?

I always export the Keynote project to QT and import
the QT movie into Garageband (soundtrack). Then I
choose the music and "export to file..."
Then you get a QT movie with the sound you need!

Audio files not playing correctly on website.

My husband's website just was rebuilt and we are both having trouble with his recording samples page. The Webdesigner says that it is working fine. When we go to play an audio track, then we click on another audio track the 1st audio track is supposed to stop so the next one will play. However, this is not happening. The second one starts playing over the 1st. I have updated Firefox and am using 26.0. The webdesigner states that it works fine when they test the browser at their office. Can someone please let me know if there is something like a plug-in I am missing. You need to click on product details to pull up the recordings for each album.
In addition, I am unable to add the product to my shopping cart. Again we were told by the webdesigner that this works fine.
I tested both of these issues in Internet Explorer and they both work as they are supposed to, just not in Firefox. So I am convinced it is the browser.

Clicking the play button of another song doesn't pause the song that is playing, so I hear multiple songs playing simultaneously.<br />
I am on Linux, so can't test if it works in IE, but it sounds that the code is only compatible with IE.
Clicking Add to chart makes Firefox send this request:

Quicktime files not playing in browser

Please help...
I have now started publishing my website to my domain name instead of mobile me and the quicktime movies embedded on the pages no longer play. Instead there is just a quicktime symbol with a question mark. Why and how can I fix it?
Get the same message whether I download my site through safari or IE.

Sample page has links to 4 other pages, each with a clip that I dragged and dropped onto my iweb pages before publishing with Classic FTP.

I couldn't view any videos on the sample page using the latest versions of Safari and Firefox. One of the photos, I think it was the I'll be there for you picture, I did get a Youtube screen with the message "We're sorry, this video is no longer available" on both browsers.
I do have the latest Flash Player. Could be a coding problem you are having. I do not know anything about setting up a web page. Just thought I'd let you know what I saw when viewing your site.

Very short audio file not playing.

Hi all.
I have a slide where there is a picture which collapses with an effect to centre. At the point of collapse I have a short sound file (0.5s) of a camera shutter which plays at the same time.
This then moves to the next slide where there is another picture that expands from central, whcih then collapses with the same sound into the next slide and so on and so on.
I originally created this in CP5 and it all worked fine.
My client then decided they wanted something different so I removed the sound and did what they wanted.
I have subsequently upgraded to CP5.5.
They then decide that they wanted it back as originally built.
I re-imported the sound file and replaced it into the slides as necessary.
If I play the slide using the space bar the sound plays fine.
If I preview with either F4, F8, F10 or F12 I get no camera shutter sound. But all the other sounds in the product work fine.
I'm a bit confused!
Anyone come across this?
I've created a new project and plonked the sound file into a new slide and it works fine using the F keys.
Don't know what I have done but I must have switched something off somewhere.
Any help is appreciated!

You are right. But there detail. If Online audio will be downloaded to this user interaction. Depending on your animation will all be out of sync with the audio. For the timeline will run before. I do not know how to do but needed to put a stop to that timeline only run when the audio is downloaded. I had problems in IOS and Android with audio using adobe edge previous version before they even have audio support. Used Edgehero who answered my expectations very well. Only had this same problem but it was solved this way.

Now I know a method to get the length of a audio file by play it:
1 Create a Player, and add a ControllerListener
2.Start the Player
3.In the ControllerListener's controllerUpdate method, use getMediaTime() by receiving a EndOfMediaEvent
However I think this method is not convenience, if I don't want to play it how I can get the length of the audio file?

You don't need to download an App.
My understanding is that you simply have to change the file extension from .3ga to.mp3 (on each file) and then they should play.
That said, it works on a Macbook Pro - I've just tried it.
Not sure about iOS though.
Please reply if it works for you.
