Podcast doesn't sync

Hi,
I subscribe to a number of podcasts, both video and audio only, but one of them, a video podcast (Kayak Journal podcast) doesn't get synced at all. The others are working fine and many of them has been for a long time, but this on I added last week just never shows up on the iPod (but it does in iTunes). I've checked the syncing preferences and it seems to be OK. What could be wrong here?

It is possible that the video file of the podcast is not in a format supported by the 5th generation iPod. This happens a lot now-a-days since a lot of video podcasts now are in HD. When you subscribe to that podcast, you are getting only that incompatible format. NORMALLY it warns you about a certain video not being able to sync to your iPod, but way back at one point this probably happened to you, and you dismissed the message and asked it to never pop up again. Sadly, this will STILL not pop up even if a NEW non-transfer scenario occurred (I know, not the best system right?)
Anyhow I digress, here are a few options for you:
1.) Go into the iTunes Store again, and see if your particular podcast offers a "iPod Version" or another sized version for your iPod. If so, you might want to subscribe to that one also, or instead.
2.) If not, select all of your video podcasts in question, and then go to Advanced -> Create iPod/iPhone version. An additional copy will be made formatted properly for iPod. This way you can watch your regular version in iTunes, and you can transfer a set of formatted files for iPod viewing. Keep in mind this means you will have duplicates of those files.

iTunes is looking for a feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/RogueArrowPodcast . The reason this does not work is that the media file URLs are feedproxy ones which do not end with an extension, e.g. .mp3, so iTunes doesn't recognize them as media files and does not display the episodes. You need to provide a direct URL to the media files.
As to the other feed, the image URL leads to a Photobucket web page hosting the image. This obviously won't work and you need to provide a direct link to the image. The actual URL is
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww146/amazingbass/Podcasts/RogueArrowiTunes.p ng
However the image is 1024 x 1024 - it must be 1400 x 1400 (and less than 500kB which it is at the moment).
If you submit this feed it will end up as an entirely separate podcast, entitled 'Autologicool Test Feed'. You need to correct the image and then substitute the code in the original feed from which the Feedburner feed is drawn.

Old and new video podcasts no longer sync and play

Since updating Itunes and software on my Ipod classic, the ipod no longer plays video podcasts. I know there was a problem with newer podcasts in HD and so on, but even the old format doesn't play.
can anyone help?

In your subject heading you say the Podcasts do not sync. Are you saying they don't play +because they have not synced?+
If so, when you plug your iPod into your computer, check the settings on the Podcasts pane/tab. Are they still set the way you want them? Software upgrades have been know to cause these settings to be changed.

Got a new iPhone, using the same laptop, doesn't sync

I bought my first iPhone.
I installed iTunes to my laptop and setup my first iPhone on it.
Everything I selected to sync, would sync to the phone.
I've recently had to exchange my iPhone for a new one.
I connected my second iPhone to the same laptop.
I setup the second iPhone and it only syncs the previous phone's apps to it.
iTunes doesn't sync anything else, now, i.e. Music, Photos, Podcasts, etc.
I've tried to uninstall iTunes and delete the "Apple Computer" folder in my profile.
How do I fix this?

Well I am more than happy to help out others with sync problems on their iPhone. I'll throw out another post to raise the sync question and if anyone needs help, i'm here for them.
But... I'm not so eager to give out that information to Apple. And why should I? Apple has not only been less than eager to chime in on posts, but they have a nasty habit of altering posts, reshaping them to make them look pretty and disguise core facts, or completely deleting posts regarding critical issues. I realize they want to look good to the public, but you know what Apple, part of a discussion is working out all of the details of the issue, squashing the rumors, talking about all of it. Not ignorning those things.
Call me crazy, good communication, why would that be good right?

PODCAST doesn´t start in the last position

Hi too all,
I have an iPhone 6 with last IOS 8.2.1. If I'm listening a Podcast, then I stop it, when I back to listen, Podcast doesn't start it from the last position. It is always starting a lot of time before the las point.
Any solution????? I am turning crazy bcs I cannot follow any podcast.

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the Podcast App is not saving the playbac position. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

Playback position
Podcasts can remember your playback position between devices and computers, so you can always start where you left off. If Sync Podcasts is on for your iOS device, playback position will sync. However, you might need to turn on this setting in iTunes on your Mac or PC.
Select iTunes > Preferences.
Click the Store tab.
Select "Sync playback information across devices." It may take a few minutes to sync.

Podcast playlist not synced to iPhone 3gs, 3.1 iTunes 9

I have a manual playlist that I drag podcasts into so I can just listen to them all from start to finish without having to select and play each podcast. It's been working fine with all my iPods and my iPhone, until iTunes 9.
I drag the podcasts into the playlist. They are there and I can play them fine on my Mac. But the playlist isn't listed on the iPhone "Music" tab to select and sync. So doesn't sync. It does sync to my Nano 4g.
I hope this is a bug that will be fixed. I actually deleted the playlist and created a new one. It's NOT a smart playlist.
Has anyone else run into this? I'd love to know if it is working for someone.
iPhone 3GS, OS 3.1 iTunes 9. BTW all the podcasts play fine from the poecasts page on the iPod. I just don't like to have to manually play each podcast. Especially since so many are rather short.

I've managed to find a work around.
I subscribe to several podcasts and had a smart playlist ("media_kind = podcast" as the filter). The playlist was fine in iTunes, present on my iPod (120G Classic) but empty. Just started happening with upgrade to iTunes 9. This same configuration has worked fine for at least 1 year. Same MBP, same iPod....(I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard too)
I played around with the filter, switched it to "genre=podcast"....same thing. Seems ok in iTunes, won't sync with iPod.
I solved it by changing my smart playlist to use "Album contains <podcast_name>". I toggled the playlist to use "any" of the rules and then just added each podcast by name to the smart playlist. Now when I sync with my iPod, all the podcasts show up on the iPod in that playlist.
For smart playlists, it seems to matter which rules you use to create them. Some of the attributes don't work (media-kind, genre) don't work, others (like Album) work ok. I haven't tried all the applicable ones. Once I got it working, I stopped testing.

The error message you're seeing is likely the other way around -- i.e. something like "This iPhone has previously been synced with a different computer". There's no problem syncing multiple iOS devices to the same computer.
However, the reverse is not true for the iPhone -- you cannot connect an iPhone to another computer without it being erased, even if you manually manage music and video. So, it sounds like you've been syncing your iPhone to a different computer?
Also, 5.1 (not 5.0.1) is the latest iOS.

Purchased app doesn't sync to iPad

Purchased app shows downloaded on by pc but it doesn't sync to my iPad and although it indicated it's compatible with iPad, in iTunes it only shows up in iPod purchases downloaded, not in iPad purchases. I found that at the time I purchased it I didn't have enough storage on my iPad for it so freed up plenty of storage and deleted the app and "repurchased" as instructed in iTunes troubleshooting. It again showed it downloaded but still only as an iPhone app and didn't sync to iPad.

got a new iphone 5s and my itunes doesn't sync with it. can't draw songs over to phone. i bought some songs from itunes and don't show up in mu library.. lm getting tired of apple it was never this hard to sync songs.. have same id on both phone and mac.. don't know what to do plz help anybody.. starting to get disappointed on apple

You cannot update iTunes on an iPad. The lastest version of iTunes on the iPad is updated when you update it's iOS
You can update iTunes to the latest version 11.1.2 on your Mac if it supports the following:
Macintosh System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store

Hej there.. I've a problem with iphone4 that doesn't sync with itunes or aperture.. doesn't appear!

I've checked if there is any software update and I resarted both, computer and iphone.. still nothing. In the iphone settings, general, iTunes Wi-fi Sync, "Sync Now is not available....
I don't know what to do..

"About iTunes" says I have v7.3 (54). I'm pretty sure that's the latest version. It includes a tab in Preferences for "iPhone." My phone just doesn't show up.

I have an iPod Classic, the 2nd most recent version. I havn't had problems with it until a week ago. Before I had the new iTunes update, a week ago, it wouldn't show up in my Device's or "My Computer" , wont sync and It wouldn't charge either. I thought to myself "Maybe I should update my iTunes, maybe thats why it's not working". I updated my iTunes library to the most recent software last night thinking it would help but... It didn't help at all and made things much more complicated. I don't like how the new iTunes navigates and the iTunes Helper isn't there now. I'm still facing the problem where it doesn't show up in iTunes AND it doesn't show up on "My Computer" AND still doesn'tt sync but the thing thats different is that it'll charge a quarter bit and say it's done, or it wont charge at all and stay on my home screen. I need help here. Anyone have any suggestions?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
