Podcast download error on windows

Hi guys, this is my first forum post but I'm totally lost. Please help.
I am using the latest iTunes on Windows 7 and I can't d/l any podcasts. I get a 403 error no matter which one I try but I can download apps and app updates. What do I do?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Podcast Download Error -39

This has happened to me three times now. When I am in the middle of downloading a podcast, my computer has either frozen or lost internet connection, so the podcast download gets interrupted. Once I restart, or reconnect to the internet, and go back to the list of podcasts, the one I was downloading is grayed out. I push the "Get" button next it and I get this error message: 'There was a problem downloading (said podcast). An unknown error occurred (-39). Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again.' I have tried resubscribing to the podcast and even reinstalling iTunes. I didn't know if maybe there was a partial file saved somewhere that is making iTunes think there's still a problem. I don't know where to look for that though. Anyone else had this problem before or know what I should do to fix it??

Okay, I had the exact same problem. I restarted by computer during the middle of a podcast download because my computer froze. In order to fix this, (I'm using a windows XP now):
    1. Go to the start menu.
    2. Click on search.
    3. On the left menu, click on all files and folders.
    4. Type the episode name of the podcast.
    5. Results should come up.
    6. Click on the folder that is named after the podcast episode.
    7. Delete the two files located in the folder. (2 in my case, they were named download and something else I can't remember)
    8. Retry your download.
    9. There you go, you got your podcast!

  • Download error in windows 95

    Hi,
We are using windows 2000, and NT. WebStart works well under these OS. We do have a machine running windows 95 and webstart is giving the following error:
    JNLPException[category: Download Error : Exception:
    java.net.UnknownHostException: qa-mvrii.ins :
    LaunchDesc: null ]
    Any Suggestions...
We have tried making it work by manually changing the proxy settings for the Application Manager, but we still get the same error.

There is an issue with some older versions of winsock on Windows 95. I am not sure of the version number, but try updating winsock.

  • Podcast Download Error, Tap to retry @ wifi, Ios 8.2, Iphone 5s

    Hi all,
    I'm Iphone 5s user, with IOS 8.2.
No files are able to be downloaded nor played from Podcast with wifi. When I turn on the LTE, and then it starts to download, which is weird. The error message appears under wifi environment, like this, "Download Error. Tap to retry".
So, it seems the PodCast won't let me download anything with wifi, but only with LTE. Is it a problem what others are struggling with? Would there be any solution for this?

I am googling this like mad with no succinct fix or answer. Do you think apple can do something server side to permanently delete these five songs from the download queue. They must be the cause for the phone always asking for my apple id on every restart. Signing in makes them
vanish but as I mentioned if I don't sign in when it prompts me in restart they remain in the queue. It's really annoying. I
hope a future 8.0.1 update may reset this but I can't be certain it will. I am sure erase all settings and restoring backup may eradicate this too but this a long and painful option. I am sure the problem started with a restore anyway as post ios 8 I fid restore from
backup after a sync mess up. The process took forever and I tevkon certain songs got stuck during restore. I wish it didn't try and download them
sll back in at once. I did cancel the restore after a long while as it was quicker to individually download songs at my own leisure. I'd like to avoid trying another restore as it will be a huge data usage and lengthy process just to try and remove this issur

  • 2.2 Podcast download: errors on 2/3 podcasts I try to download

    Anyone else seen this?
I tried to download a podcast (Stack Overflow podcast) through the iTunes Store on my iPhone and it gave me a Download Error right away.
I tried to download another one (Ruby on Rails podcast) and it downloaded the whole file (progress bar got to 100%) and then gave another download error.
I tried some of random podcasts and managed to download some other ones. But I'd quite like to have these.
    Any thoughts?
    Dan

My podcasts download just fine, however they seem to be in the wrong format. Some enhanced audio files are playing as videos. I've reported the problem to the iTunes store (see pasted below), but I wanted to flag it to see if others are having the same problem:
With the most recent iPhone update (2.2), it's great having the ability to download podcasts. However, playback of enhanced audio podcasts has been causing problems. For some enhanced podcasts, they play back as they used to, providing access to chapter markers in the top right corner, and allowing the screen to be turned off while still playing the audio. Other enhanced podcasts now seem to show up as videos, with a small tv screen icon showing up next to the episode name, the chapter markers accessible via a button at the bottom of the screen, and I am unable to play back the audio show with the screen off (much as most of the rest of the videos work). I haven't yet been able to find a difference between these enhanced audio files, all seem to be file format .m4a, some encoded with Garage Band, some encoded with Podcast Maker.
    Some examples:
This Week in Media 117 (shows up as video)
gdgt 013 (shows up as video)
The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack AAC Ep. 3.37 (shows up as video)
MacCast eMacCast 2008.12.01 (shows up as enhanced audio)
This change started with iPhone software update 2.2, and has unfortunately rendered many of my podcasts useless unless I keep the screen active.
Additionally, another related change that was made with iPhone software update 2.0, was that, much like on the iPods, video podcasts could be viewed as a video, or listened to as only audio. On iPhone software version 1.1.4 and earlier, you had the choice to listen to a video podcast (which allowed you to turn the screen off) when accessing the podcast in the podcast section of the player, or as a video with the screen when accessing all videos in the player. Since 2.0, all video podcasts accessed from the podcast section play as videos. I understand the reasoning for this, as it may seem more straight forward to some users, but it has decreased the functionality of the player app. It'd be great if functionality were restored via a system preferences option to enable listening-only to video podcasts.
One other person has found the problem here as well:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8591047#8591047
Anyone else experiencing this? Might be similarly tied to these podcasting errors?

  • HT3281 Podcast download error - How do I delete it from itunes and my iphone?

I tried to download a podcast directly on my iphone.  I got an error but later was able to download it through Itunes on my laptop so I don't want it anymore.  Now the podcast still won't download on my iphone and continues to say download error in itunes on my iphone. The podcast episode shows up on my iphone, but it says the time is 0:00 and it won't let me swipe to delete it.  How can I remove it?

    Hey Bret,
I had the same problem and found that if I went to the iTunes app (as opposed to the Music app) and selected "More" and then "Downloads", I could swipe from right to left on the specific podcast that wouldn't download, which would cause the "Delete" button to be revealed, and then delete it. After deleting the podcast there, I opened the "Music" app and found that it had been deleted from there also. Hope this helps.
Incidentally, I'm still unable to download certain podcasts directly to my iPhone.

  • Why constant Podcast download errors?

Constantly get "download error, tap to retry".    This especially true for news and financial programs.....   So info is there but not able to be downloaded.   I can delete the pending file, but that doesn't get the info downloaded.    Is this issue with my iPad or Apple?    Also, it often seems news programs are not available for days.....again is this Apple or networks?

  • How do I solve for podcast download error -50 on iTunes 8?

I've recently set up my work computer with iTunes, as I now have an iPhone. In trying to download any free NPR podcasts (e.g., Fresh Air), I can subscribe to it but when I try to download, the orange spinning circle shows very briefly, then I get a grey exclamation point. Clicking on the "!" reveals error message: There was a problem downloading "Podcast name". An unknown error occurred (-50). Please check that the URL is correct and that the connection to the network is active and try again.
I'm using a Dell with Windows XP Pro Server Pack 2, with the iTunes 8.0.1. At home, I also have a Dell but with an earlier version of iTunes, and I'm not getting the error.
I have already tried deleting the podcasts from my library (including the cache), and resubscribing. I've tried to manually add the podcasts using the URL (through iTunes).
Any guidance would be very appreciated. I'm feeling lost with out my morning podcasts!

Any solutions to this problem? It always happens to "Car Talk" and "Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me".

  • Itunes podcast downloading error (err = -3259)

    Hello,
I am using itunes with my IPOD since 2 years. all fine so far. Now, since a few weeks, some podcasts don`t get downloaded anymore. I always receive the error message (err = -3259) and thats it. Does anyone else have the same problem? I also tried a different timing and deleted the podcast and renewed it from itunes, but no change. I am already desperate.... and want to have the content updated for sure.
Thanks for your comments & have a prosperous and happy new year.

I've been having the same problem for about two weeks now. Before then, I had no problem downloading multiple podcasts. Now, only one downloads fine while all the rest time out. What is really odd is that they are all about the same size (even the one that I can download successfully). I've been searching for a solution online, but to no avail. I even disabled Norton and Windows' firewall, but that did not help at all. Completely frustrating...

  • Podcast download error=9006

    Hi there,
I'm trying to download podcast files which are suddenly all ending in an error message err=9006.
The files are about 230MB large and when the file reaches 200-210 MB the error occurs.
Downloading is done through an iMac. I checked Apple support but only found iOS suggestions.
Any ideas what could be the case??
    Cheers

Ok i think it is fixed!
i uninstalled my NOD32 virusscan. Windows Defender i disabled completly and windows firewall i set back to std settings.
This all together made it work! I don't know why cause i disabled virusscan and firewall but didn't work. When i put the firewall back on the problem was back. Then changed it to the std settings and now it can stay on!
I don't understand but it worked!

  • Iphone podcast download errors

So I'm having issues regarding podast download, I can download them fine via itunes but when I try on my iphone 4s i get the message 'the podcast cannot be downloaded' yet it does download and goes on my iphone then I end up with it stuck in the download window as an error, see pics below:
as you can see there are 2 podcasts stuck there in my downloads as an error and I have no way to remove them, yet in the next picture as you can see it's downloaded and playing.
Now even when I sync my iphone with itunes it has no way to remove these errors so I have these podcasts stuck trying to download even though I have them on my iphone and playing, which in turn uses up my download allowance and it's constanlty trying to download the podcasts but then also errors itself.
Any idea's as this is very annoying and also using up my monthly download limit?

The Iphone 4 has been having trouble with ios 7. I have heard of it being slow while performing certain tasks

  • Backup iTunes podcast download status for Windows XP reinstall

I'm preparing for a long overdue reinstall of Windows XP. I use iTunes to downoad oodles of podcasts; I have many episodes which I've not yet downloaded and won't until I've completed the reinstall. That is, their download status is still set to "Get".
My question is: How can I backup the status of my individual podcast episodes?
I know how to backup/export the subscriptions (OPML) and the already downloaded files of course. Does iTunes have a file (XML? .config? ...) or some metadata that I can hook into so that I don't have to re-download everything once my reinstall is done?
