Podcast duplicating on iOS devices in iTunes

Since 11.2 and 11.2.2 came onto the scene my podcast adds another of each episode to my iDevices on every sync. Only the unwatched/unlistened to episodes.
Example. I have 30 unwatched podcast, I sync, I now have all 30 on my iphone. When I sync again. I still have 30 unwatched, but now my iDevice in the sidebar shows 60 podcast. Adds another 30 every sync.
Fortunately as best as I can tell, It is not physically duplicated the file or the title entry on the iDevice.
I don't see my data bar graph at the bottom grow either.
That's why I am in the iTunes and not a iOS forum. If this should be somewehre else let me know.
iTunes Library is served from a 12TB unRaid server on 1Gb network. Worked fine until 11.2.
Everything else is OK. My blue unwatched bubbles go crazy sometimes but that has been that way since iTunes introduced them.
Phone 5 and 5s - 7.1.1
iPad Air - 7.1.1
Mac Mini 2.3 - i7 - 8GB - 10.9.3
MacBook Pro Late '13 - 2.4 i5 - 8GB - 10.9.3
macBook Air Late '11 - 10.9.3
iTunes - 11.2.2 (3)

Whewwww. Thought I was alone in this one. Couldn't find any help. Probably one of those that we'll just have to wait for an update down the line.
PS = All settings for each podcast are identical across all devices and macs. I download all, keep all, and delete none. iTunes sync is set to All of All. I have also tried various setting with no change in outcome.

  • Greyed Out Tracks When Synching iOS device with iTunes Library

I am no longer able to sync new tracks added to my iTunes library with any of my iOS devices.   Any new purchases I have made from the iTunes store as well as any MP3 files that I have brought into my iTunes library manually are being transferred to my iPhone or iPod Touch.   The tracks are listed but are greyed out and cannot be played.
Sorry if this was resolved somewhere else.  I saw a really old thread on this topic in one of the discussion areas but some of the advice appeared to be outdated given newer versions of iTunes that have come out since then.
    Thanks!

    Sorry, iTunes v. 12.1.1.4

  • Can't find ios devices with itunes anymore?

Hi! i have an ipad air and an iphone 5s and run windows 8.1.
Normally both my ipad and my iphone connect to itunes through wifi so i can put music on it, delete apps or put comics on it or whatever. But suddenly yesterday it stoppet working and now my itunes can't even find ios devices when i plug it in the computer by USB? Everything is fully updated and i tried reinstalling itunes and reset my devices and use a different usb port.
MY computer can find them via USB so i can look at my pictures from "my computer".
    please help anyone :-)

    Hello ErdalDK,
It sounds like you are unable to see your devices either via Wi-Fi or when connected with a USB cable. I recommend the troubleshooting from the following article named:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
If that does not resolve the issue, I would recommend re installing iTunes again, but also its associated apps. The following article will walk you through that if needed:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • When syncing iOS devices to iTunes, the memory allocations shown in iTunes are all over the place

There must be threads about this, but apologies for my inability to find any.
As the title says: I plug my iPhone or iPad into my iMac, and when I look at the memory allocation as displayed in iTunes, 6GB or whatever are free. Then I sync again, and suddenly 8GB are free. Sync again, and now 2GB are free - even though nothing has changed. I get this with both iOS devices.
Additionally, often what iTunes shows has no relationship to what the device says when I go into Settings: last week iTunes believed there were 0GB in Photos - because after all I had erased them! - but the iPad recorded 25GB, somehow.
Is this a known issue, or is something screwy with my system?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but that's not really the issue. I do manage it manually - I've got a lot of smart lists, smart photo albums, and so on, all set up to sync with the iOS devices.
The problem is that the iPhone/iPad memory, as displayed in iTunes when the device is plugged in, seems to be very inaccurate and variable. When I plug the iPhone or iPad in, iTunes tells me (for example) that, with current settings, 5GB will be free. It syncs, and then suddenly 2GB are free. I sync again - changing nothing, so there should be no change in memory allocation - and suddenly 6GB are free. Somehow, despite syncing no books at all, there's a bizarre 60MB "Book" that iTunes tells me is sometimes on the iPhone, and sometimes not. That little stretch of purple just suddenly appears some days.
At times it tells me it's too full and can't sync at all. So I wipe, for example, 6GB off the "too full" iOS device, and after doing that suddenly 10GB are free, so I put the 6GB back on no problem. And after I add that 6GB back on, maybe there are 8GB free, or maybe 2GB, or maybe 4GB. In my world, 10GB-6GB=4GB, but iTunes is using quantum arithmetic or something.
Wiping a lot of photos off was great fun. I had iTunes unsync and remove all photos - so, in that line at the bottom, all the photo memory allocation disappeared. Cool. Mission accomplished. Then I clicked to another tab in iTunes, and suddenly the photo memory jumped back up to 15GB. Looked back in the Photos tab - nope, I'd told it to sync no photos at all. Checked the iPhone itself: oh, neat. 25GB of photos, despite not syncing any. Eventually, after repeating the process several times, all the photos were eventually gone, but the whole process was bizarrely complicated.
Basically, when I plug the iPhone or iPad into iTunes, iTunes seems to have no idea what the memory allocation actually is - which occasionally makes syncing complicated.
It's not a giant issue, but it's quite annoying - and I'm wondering if this is just me, or if this is a common issue. I think this issue may also be discussed in some of the "can't delete songs" or "can't delete photos" threads, but some of those threads are so long and cover so many different problems that they're kind of hard to read.

  • Album artwork not on ios device after iTunes Match

Still figurng out this iTunes Match.   after importing a CD, updating iTunes Match from my laptop, the songs will download to my ios device but not the album art.

Its frustrating i know but just wait for it to update it will eventually. Especially if you've updated a large number of items on match in one go. i just purchased match and updated 6777 items, they are slowly updating. Sit tight!!

  • Issues syncing apps between itunes and ios devices - changed itunes store

I have had an iTunes store account for several years with the same apple ID.  Initially I connected that apple ID to the Belgian store and about 2 years ago I changed to the UK store, but still with the same apple ID.
Since I have several IOS devices, I prefer to use iTunes to update any apps I have downloaded and then sync them onto all my IOS devices using my local network rather than downloading accross the internet each time.  When I view the apps in my library it says a number of updates are available (right now there are 9).  but when I click on the button to go to the store and retrieve the updates - itunes store says "No Updates are currently avaialable" and suggests I sign in with a different ID.  However, I don't have a different ID.
This seems to be that any of the apps I puurchased in the Belgian store prior to switch to the UK will not update.   For a while, as a resolution, I was able to download updates on one or more of my IOS devices sucesfully whicever store I purchased them from and then when I synced back to iTunes, it updated them in the library.  Wasn't very pretty but it worked.
Now after upgrading to iTunes 11, although I can still update the apps on my IOS devices, when I sync it no longer transfers the updates to the iTunes library - I haven't had iTunes 11 long enough to determine if it's related to the same store switch issue or if it's a general problem.
Anybody got any similar experiences or solutions to consolidate all my purchased apps (which ever store) into one, so updating is transparenet again?

    (A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

  • HT204074 Is there a way around the 10 max iOS devices per iTunes account?

I work in a games company that have numerous iOS devices. I want to create an iTunes account that can be associated with all the devices for testing purposes. Is there a way to have a business/corporate iTunes account for this?
    Thanks,
    Adam

There is no standard iTunes Store account that provides any extra permissions. But when you sign up as an iOS developer, you get the ability to register and provision up to 100 devices for testing. Sign in your member center and go to the iOS Provisioning Portal and you'll find full information.
    Regards.

  • How to dissociate an iOS device from iTunes / iBooks purchase account

I want to pass my iPhone 4S to a neighbor's child after wiping my data from it.   However, I have read in the tech press that this process does not dissociate one's iTunes / iBooks account from the device.  I want to ensure that the device cannot be used to access my account purchases.  How do I do that?  I presume it has to be done before I wipe the device.  I cannot find this info in the knowledge base documents (so far).

You can log out of an account by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store
Also turn 'off' (assuming that it's 'on') Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone, and log out of your account from iCloud : Settings > iCloud > Delete Account
If the phone is associated to your account then you might be able to remove it via your computer's iTunes : iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID (or you can do it directly on the phone logging out of the account by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store, tapping on 'View Apple id' on the popup and logging  in, and there might, if the phone is associated to your account, be a 'remove this device' button). If the phone has been associated to your account for less than 90 days then you won't be able to remove it.
Also remove the phone from your support profile if it's registered to it : https://supportprofile.apple.com/
And, if you are on a contract, you've contacted your phone carrier to cancel it ?

  • Creating playlists on iOS devices with iTunes match

I made a playlist on my iPad with songs that had yet to be downloaded from the cloud and then I chose the option of 'download all.' the songs all downloaded but do not appear in the playlist. I can probably go back through and add them individually but I'm wondering if there is a more efficient way to do this. Also, on my iPhone, the playlist appeared, but without any songs. And- is there a fast way to delete all music from my iPhone and iPad? I'm trying to save space so I want to delete everything and download it as needed. Thanks.

You can delete all music at once by going to Settings > General > Usage and tapping Music. Swipe across the Music entry and tap the Delet button.
What were the criteria you used to create the playlist on your iPad? That may have something to do with why songs don't show up in the playlist after you download them.

  • Podcasts downloaded with iOS sync back to Mac iTunes with wrong title

When I acquire podcast episodes on an iOS device, either my iPod Touch or iPad, via the iTunes store program, these podcasts have the correct title.
But once I sync this device back to iTunes on my laptop, these podcast episodes no longer have the correct title, but usually are re-titled "rss", and read as such on both the iOS device and iTunes.
Is there something that's wrong with either my iOS devices or iTunes? Or is this a bug that needs addressing?

  • Songs not on my iOS device appear in iTunes

I have no music synced to my iPhone or iPad, I just use iTunes Match. However, when I connect my iOS device to iTunes and select the "On this iPhone/iPad" tab, it shows a list of songs that are NOT on my phone. I don't download songs from iTunes match - I just stream it. In fact, the songs showing in this list have not been listening to in several months.
I've already wiped my iOS device (I do this for every update and download the backup from iCloud) but these same songs still show up.
    Any ideas?

    Anyone?

  • ITunes and the Finder won't recognise iOS devices but iPhoto will and will recognise my iPod classic

    Good day good people,
I seem to be having a problem syncing my iOS devices to iTunes. The Finder and iTunes won't recognise any of my iOS devices (iPads - 1, 2or Mini and iPhone 4s). iPhoto will however. Finder and iTunes will recognise my iPod Classic.
    I've tried this:
         http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
and I tried doing a SCM reset and a PRAM reset (I couldn't get this one to work though) as recommended on another thread which I can't seem to find again.
Note people seem to have had a similar problem with older versions of OSX - I have the latest. They reommend reinstaliling iTunes but I can't do this with more recent versions it seems.
I am confident it is something corrupt with my MacPro as I also have a MacBook Air and it recognises all the iOS devices.
One last thing  - and I'm not sure this is related - but iTunes on my MacPro doesn't seem to be syncing purchases from the iTunes store with my other devices (notably my AppleTV 2).
I have been banging my head against this one for a while - any help would be greatly approeciated.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • Why won't iTunes 10.5 find my iOS devices?

I installed IOS 5 all my iOS devices (iPhone 4 and iPad 2) and was really excited to try out the wifi sync, but, its not working.
I've connected them both, one by one to the physically to the computer and checked the box that says "Sync over WiFi" and even plugged it into the wall, but it still won't show up wirelessly in iTunes. Only appears when I physically connect to iTunes with a cable.
When I go to "iTunes WiFi Sync" in settings (on my iOS device) it just has the "Sync Now" option greyed out and says "Sync will resume when <computer name> is available. Does anyone know how to solve this please?
I called Apple and apparently, my phone support is finished and I have to purchase AppleCare to get an answer blah blah..
And Yes, iTunes is running! I've also tried quitting it and opening iTunes again and again. Tried restarting my computer too! Even tried turning WiFi off then on on my computer. Also tried resetting my router itself. Still no luck.
I'm on a iMac if that helps.
I got my devices to appear ONCE and never again after that. Is this something that might be fixed an upcoming update?
    Thanks!

I've been having trouble syncing my 4S to iTunes today.  There are many threads which cover this and I've put together this summary of recommendations.  Yes, some are quite basic, but bear with me. Let me know if this helps.
    Wi-Fi Syncing in iOS 5
    1. Have OS 10.6.8 or 10.7 or better on Mac
    2. Connect iDevice to iTunes via cable
    3. Go to iDevice Summary display/tab: Check "Sync with this iDevice over wifi"
    4. Sync
    5. Unplug (do not eject) from iTunes
    6. Plug into another power source
    7. Attempt manual sync (Settings - General - iTunes Wi-Fi Sync - Sync Now)
    Notes:
    - iDevice should periodically sync when plugged into a power source
    -- if connected to wifi
    -- if iTunes is open/running
    - Manually starting wifi sync should work even when not connected to power (use caution)
    - Heavy traffic on wifi network may disrupt or prevent sync with iTunes
    - Using Wi-Fi Sync on Windows is reportedly problematic. It may stop working or work intermittently.
    - iTunes 10.5 beta 9 may NOT work with iPhone 4S
    Troubleshooting steps
    - Confirm OS version on Mac
    - Confirm using iTunes 10.5 or newer
    - Make sure you have already synced iDevice using cable
    - In iTunes Preferences - Devices, make sure "Prevent [iDevices] from automatically syncing" is not checked.
    - Confirm no firewall (OS or 3rd party) is blocking connection (on Mac, turn off firewall if you cannot connect)
    - Restart iOS device
    - Restart iTunes
    - Restart computer
    - Restart wireless router
    - Some report clicking "Renew Lease" on network page may help
    - After taking one, several, or all of these steps return to step #2 at top.
