    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sifnout and sign back in
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

Just downloaded the latest version of iTunes - iTunes 11.1.0.126. Even though I was already subscribed to all of my podcasts, there was a new Subscribe button next to each one. So, I clicked them. Now, every podcast in my list view is populated by every old episode ever published by that podcast. Worse, they cannot be deleted using my Delete key. Next to each old podcast is a cloud download symbol. My list view is now completely cluttered, making them extraordinarily long to scroll down through. Anyone know how to get rid of this major annoyance?

You have to pay to subscribe to iMatch to be able to delete.

Hi, is there any way to copy an podcast URL from the Podcast view in Itunes?
I have about 20 podcasts right now and when i try to hookup someone else with these, its a long way guiding them tru the podcast directory or finding the website where the podcast URL is posted....

You can view the podcast url by requesting the podcast description, but i can't be copied!!
Apple: Please make it selectable and/or make it easy to share podcasts...

  • How to download podcast can't find in the iTunes Store?

I understand that I can just use the instruction below to subscribe using the URL of those podcast that I can't find in the store, but once I sync it with my touch, I would like to use the "find more episode" options to get the new feeds. Of course it won't find it in iTunes. Anybody know a way to set up so that I don't have to connect the touch to the computer every time I try to get a new episode? Thanks!
Below is the instruction given to how to subscribe using URL in iTunes, but no in touch:
If while surfing the web, you ever come across a podcast that you can’t find in the iTunes Store, here’s an easy way to subscribe to it anyway. From the Advanced menu, choose “Subscribe to Podcast...” and enter the podcast feed URL. iTunes will subscribe you to the podcasts and begin downloading immediately.

    Hhhmmm! That's an interesting question.
I have subscribed to Podcasts using *Advanced/Subscribe to Podcast* in the past, but since I can't remember which ones they were, I can't test this properly, but I understand what you mean. What happens when you do click *Get More Episodes,* presumably the Touch goes to the Store, but where exactly? Is it a page that has info about that Podcast or a general Podcasts page, or do you get a message?
I think what happens when you click *Get More Episodes* is that the Touch looks in the Store, not the Podcast feed and therefore doesn't find any new episodes because the Store doesn't list that Podcast. (The feed is where the episodes are located and downloaded from and it will not be an Apple server.) However, I could be wrong. iTunes might be looking, but doesn't find anything because there is nothing to find! Don't forget, every Podcast will have the *Get More Episodes* link on your Touch, but that doesn't mean there are any episodes to get.
So without a thorough test of this, I can't be certain whether the issue is that the Touch can't find the feed or "there are no new episodes to find".
Perhaps you need to send some feedback to Apple suggesting this as a new feature (enhancement request). Feedback for the Touch is http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html.
I'm not convinced that they will think this is necessary, because the idea is that the Podcasts are automatically downloaded into your iTunes Library because you have subscribed to the Podcast, so there would be no need to look for them directly from your Touch. Then, a periodic Sync of your Touch (which is a good idea anyway) would mean that it's not that likely that there would be any new episodes to get. But send feedback anyway, because it's not for me to decide.
In the short term, I think you're only option is to allow iTunes to find the new episodes and use the Sync feature to get them onto your Touch.

  • The "View in iTunes" button doesn't work on Chrome

When I'm looking at an iTunes Preview of an album on the iTunes web version (not the program) and I click "View in iTunes" so I can go buy the album or look at the artist's other stuff in the program, nothing happens. There's no message, iTunes doesn't open up or anything. So I have to go to iTunes myself and manually search for and find the album I'm looking for each and every time..
It works fine on Firefox, just Chrome doesn't want to do it.
I've tried going to chrome://plugins/ and clicking "Always allowed" on the iTunes Application Dector box but nope, nothing.
    WHAT'S THE FIX? APPLE PLS
    #firstworldproblems

Just installed the iTunes update & now the same is happening to me. Until the update I had no problems with iTunes opening up when I clicked on "View in iTunes" buttons in Google Chrome. After reading the OP, I decided to try in Internet Explorer and it worked fine. Apparently, the update doesn't agree with Google Chrome. *sighs*

  • To download you need iTunes but iTunes never loads from "view in iTunes"

I have installed iTunes 10.1.1 and I have all the Windows requirements to run it, as shown here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/download/?id=262272137
I click on links from iTunes email and see the dialog: *"one moment please, connecting to the iTunes store."*
*Every time I click on a button that says "view in iTunes", AND then click on the button that says, "iTunes already installed", _the iTunes software never loads_.*
It has never worked for me, so I haven't made any changes.
Example. I searched for cooking podcasts and found this:
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/cooking-marilyn-appletv-hd/id262272137?ign-mp t=uo%3D4
I clicked "view in iTunes" and am brought here to download iTunes:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/download/?id=262272137

Are you using Chrome or Safari? There seem to be problems these browsers.
Firefox works for me but not Chrome, I don't have safari.
There is some discussion of the problem here:

It is also possible to find other references with Google.

  • Album view in iTunes 11 unusable because singles showing as "Unknown Album"

I have lots of "singles" in my collection (ie mp3s with nothing in the "album" field) as well as lots of albums.
Because of this, the "albums" view in iTunes 11 is virtually unusable, as 80% of the music shows as "Unknown Album" and prevents me from just browsing genuine albums.
Is there a ways to fix this so that the "albums" view only contains tracks that really are from albums?  Nothing I've tried (e.g. flagging them as "part of a compilation") seems to make a difference.
    thanks,

Thanks - I have already done sonething similar with a number of smart-playlists myself, but this is a poor workaround and means the pre-built views in iTunes are useless.  It's also something else to think about every time I import a new song so that it doesn't get lost.
Like lots of people, I've got loads of singles, mixes, radio shows and other music that is not groupable by album, and I find it ridiculous that iTunes hinders, rather than helps, to manage this..  Coupled with the appalling new search functionality this new version makes it harder than ever to navigate my music collection.

  • How do I show plays in Artist View in iTunes 11?

I'm looking for a way to show plays in Artist View in iTunes 11. A dialog box pops up when going to View > View Options,  but nothing about changing what information can be diplayed.
    Anyone know anything about this?
    Thanks!

I do not believe you can. If you want to see plays you need to use The songs View. If you turn on the column browser you can select by Album and in the grid below you should see count. If not then View > View Options and select Plays from the Stats section.

  • Problem sorting by Artist in grid view using Itunes 8

I have a lot of albums that contain various artist and i set up the info in each with the correct artist name and "various artist" as the album artist. In itunes 8 when i use grid view and use show by artist it displays by album artist putting all the albums by "various artist" in one grid. It's correct in list and cover flow view. How can i set the grid view to display by the artist of the song and not the album. (ex. Soundtrack from the motion picture Tropic Thunder: Display "U Can't Touch This" under MC Hammer instead of Various Artist)

Actually, the grid view should be using the Album Artist tag. When the Album Artist tag was added in iTunes 7.0, the intent was to allow users to properly tag songs based on the artist and any guest artists. For instance, on Luther Vandross’ album +Give Me The Reason+ Track 6, “There’s Nothing Better Than Love” is a duet. Therefore, while the Artist tag for the rest of the tracks should be ‘Luther Vandross’, the correct tag content for Track 6 is ‘Luther Vandross duet with Greory Hines’. Without having ‘Luther Vandross’ in all the Album Artist tags for all 9 album tracks, iTunes would split the album as if there are two albums of the same name by different artists.
The other situation are producer-driven albums like Quincy Jones’ +The Dude+ or +Back On The Block+ . These are not compilations, as you described, because the songs were produced for the albums and Quincy Jones, although not a performer on any of the tracks, is the album artist. The exception is soundtracks that are compilations of songs typically produced for a given film. Like the situation you describe, each track has a different artist, so by having ‘Quincy Jones’ in the Album Artist tag for each track, iTunes maintains the integrity of the album and keeps the tracks properly grouped.
(Now if Apple would only acknowledge and fix the persistent bug that does not carry these grouping and sorting features over to the user’s music folder when they have enabled “Keep iTunes Music folder organized” in iTunes’ preferences.)
The situation you are specifically referencing is that of tagging compilations—albums that consist of tracks by various artists where there is no actual album artist—but you have used the Album Artist tag effectively forcing iTunes to see them as single artist albums. I also tag compilations—e.g., Various Artists (Hip Hop), Various Artists (Jazz), Various Artists (R&B), Various Artists (Soundtrack), etc.—, so I understand what you have done. Unfortunately, the fix for forcing the grid view to recognize individual artists in compilations may require you to clear out the Album Artist tag on all of your compilation album tracks forcing iTunes to revert to the Artist tag in place of the Album Artist tag.
What I would suggest is clearing the Album Artist tag of just one compilation and seeing what happens. If the album appears under “Unknown Artist”, or some other generic listing, in the grid view then iTunes only recognizes the Album Artist tag and I am at a loss as to what you could do. If it works as you hope, then you can go ahead an clear out the Album Artist field on the rest of your compilation albums.
The downside of clearing the Album Artist field is that iTunes will revert to its pre-version 7 habits and break up the albums; that is, a compilation with 12 tracks by 12 different artists will appear in the various views as 12 different albums albeit with the same name and cover art. To keep the tracks properly grouped in other views, you will need to mark all of the tracks from the compilation albums as “Part of a compilation” in the info dialog.

  • "View In iTunes" Does Not Open iTunes

I am running Windows 8.1 and have installed iTunes. However, when I click on a "View In iTunes" link on the iTunes site, instead of it opening iTunes, I get a Web page telling me I need to download iTunes. Apparently it can't figure out that it's already installed. Why?
    Thanks for your help

Thanks. I thought that was probably what you meant, and as I said, I was using Chrome. Your post prompted me to try a different browser. When I tried it in Firefox, it asked me what application I wanted to use to open that kind of file (which Chrome never did), and after I answered that, it opened iTunes properly. However, it doesn't play the podcast; it just displays a list of my albums. The only way I can play the podcasts is to search for them within the program.
So then I tried Internet Explorer. It also prompted me for a program, and when I specified iTunes it took me directly to the list of Magnetic Memory podcasts, but again didn't play the one I had selected in the browser; I had to play it within the application.
What do I need to do?
Thanks again for your prompt and helpful replies.

  • I can no longer view my iTunes "sync in progress."  where did this window go, and how do I get it back?

Hi; I can no longer view my iTunes "sync in progress" window--the window that tells me each thing that is syncing, etc.  Where did it go, and how do I get it back?  Thanks if you can help--I was on the phone with Apple for 7 minutes on hold and then they just cut me off.  (Nice).

Now, I find myself unable to update my version of Itunes. it asks me if I wish to update the version, I say yes, and then nothing happens.
With that one, I'd try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file, downloaded from the Apple Website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

  • Need help getting this podcast to show up in my itunes store

my mom wants this podcast mix or something from http://www.987kissfm.com/itms/ everytime i click on the chris love icon, it opens the itunes store. has some text at the top in the dirty gold area at top scrolling, but nothing else happens. somebody tell me what i'm doing wrong, or is there something wrong with the link.

Despite what you've posted I assume your podcast is the one at
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/scandalicious-book-reviews/id655576007?mt=2
which is actually called 'Scandalicious Book Reviews'. Please always post the Store page URL and that of the feed when when you have a question.
    Your feed is at
    http://www.scandaliciousbookreviews.com/feed/podcast/
and contains only the same ten episodes which you see in the Store and when subscribing. You have constructed your feed in WordPress which in common with many podcast creation programs and services evidently limits the number of episodes shown in the feed, removing older ones to an archive page and out of the feed as new episodes are added. There is usually a setting to enable you to increase this number.
