Podcast help

This has happened several times. I downloaded a movie trailer from iTunes (300), but when i tried uploading it to my ipod, it said "cannot be updated. The disk could not be read from or written to." The other error message says it couldn't sync the podcasts because there were none, right after i got it. My podcast menu on my ipod is also blank, but the podcasts somehow manage to upload themselves, or I have to put them in the "purchased" category to find them.
I have the 30 gig w/ iTunes 7.0.2.16

Apparently your podcast has been removed from the Store. There is no obvious reason why this should have happened, but I have no way of knowing what is going on. Emailing Support as you have done is the only action you can take. If they don't sort it out you will have to re-submit it as a new podcast (you will need to change the title slightly or you will be told it has already been submitted).

New podcast: help! I have one page with podcast links..should I make posts?

hey guys,
I'm using wordpress to host my podcasts. I put up to podcasts, in one page on my site (not as new 'posts' but two links on a page) and made a feed for that page. I submitted the feed to itunes over a week or two ago, and my older podcast shows up, but not both of them.
None of my podcast info can be found by search (yet).
Any advice?
Do I need to make a feed for a different page?

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are trying to log into with your Apple ID, or what exactly you are seeing (alert message, directions, etc) when you try to do so. Podcast Help.. Please ?

Hi guys, am having a little trouble with the uploading of my podcast. I am using the www.mypodcast.com site
basically to run u through what ive done so far:
I created my show in logic pro, saved it as 96Kbit then i uploaded this file into garage band to split it into chapters and add images to each chapter.
I then sent the file from garage band into itunes using the 'send podcast to itunes' function and this basically bounced it down to a .m4a file (aac) which works fine in itunes however when i try to upload this file into account it doesnt like it and refuses the file type...
i then converted it to an mp3 file however when i play this in itunes audio works fine however none of the chapters nor images show up ?
Am i doing this correctly ?
basically what i want to know is how do i upload a file so that not only my audio works but also my chapters and images also that i have created ?
Really hope someone can help !!

Podcast.com only supports mp3 files at 192 kb/s and 44.1khz sampling rate:

You cannot add chapters to an mp3 file, the format doesn't allow it. If you want to make an 'enhanced podcast' in m4a format with chapters and chapter images you will need to find another host. Your ISP may offer web space, though you would need to check that it can serve m4a files; if you sign up with MobileMe you can host the files there without problems.

Podcast help for a noob

Hey guys, noob to podcasts.
My problem:
I subscribe to a podcast, and it starts downloading the podcast program. It downloads for a bit, then stops, so I go to the podcast part of the library, and double click the program to play it, but all it does is start downloading again.
I've tried various programs, but it just does the same thing with each one.
Help!

Can you include any kind of actionscript in the swf's that

Podcast help in iWeb

Morning all... or is it evening ? I've been trying to get to the bottom on this problem now for SO long I can't remember what it is !
Anyway...
Creating my own website using iWeb. I have just finished my Podcast and I'm sharing it from Garage Band to iWeb. All goes well so far.
This is my problem, I don't like the default text Apple are using on the Podcast's page (where the describion is etc etc), How can I change this ???? The box the information is held in seems to be protected somehow ! It's really annoying me, because the chosen text doesn't match the rest of my website and therefore I won't be using the Podcast if I can't change it !
Help ???? Anyone ?

If you are talking about the actual Podcast episode page, you should be able to change the text fonts, sizes, colors, etc. But if you are talking about the main Podcast index page, the text scheme here is set by the template and cannot be changed in iWeb.

Podcast help itunes doesnt open

Please help my itunes doesnt open when i put itunes to open it open but it close inmidiatly. before this whas happening i tried to subcribe to a podcast at: "http://technicallytech.com/" i put in the itunes logo a it mees up my itunes. that when i put itunes it open and close inmidiatly.

NEED PODCAST HELP AND PLAYLIST HELP!@#$

A)I just upgraded my 20 gig plain to 5g 30 gig. I downloaded video podcasts like nba playoffs and abc news(free you know). It comes up on my itunes library and I then dragged it onto the Ipod. It appears. Fine and good. Disconnect the ipod and its nowhere on the entire ipod. I read alot of forums before writing this and I tried alot but not working. Its set to tv out off and My video tab on ipod otions is grey because i use two comps and had to set songs to manual download.
B)My old Ipod had helfull buit in playlists like top 25 and recently. Here only itunes has but not on the ipod???

Make sure on your iTunes settings that you have your iPod on "Update Videos Automatically"(or something like that). IF it still doesnt work then I suggest that you simply reset the iPod or restore it.
Reseting iPod:
1. Press and hold the menu button + the center button
2. Wait untill the Apple logo appears.

Problem with getting podcasts-help!

the button for downloading podcasts in itunes wont work. nothing happens when i click on "get episode". the button is grey so it looks like its either broken or unavailable, but its the same with all the podcasts.

I'm having the same problem! The "subscribe" buttons do not seem to be activated.
Further - I had subscribed to some Podcasts successfully in the past - and they are GONE. Can't find any Podcast folder or content anywhere. I'm not sure if they went away with an itunes update or whether some family member decided to clean house and won't admit it.
Hope someone will reply to HELP us out!

Can subscribe to podcast but cannot download podcast help

Okay here is the problem.
Made a podcast site in iweb.
made video m4v files (And they play in itunes from my CPU)
uploaded site
and itunes excepted rss feed
sent feed to feed validator they replied
(Your feed appears to be encoded as "UTF-8", but your server is reporting "US-ASCII")
Note I use Godaddy.com
also said
"This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations"
lastly they said

Your feed is OK, though you have not set a category - you can do this in iWeb when submitting.
The reason you cannot download the episodes is that the URL for the latest one at least does not work:

Either there is no file at this address or there is something wrong with it. Looking at the display of your feed in FireFox (used as an rss reader) the episodes are described as 'Video (protected)' - have you inadvertently set a password? - no password request is received when attempting to load the URL, but you don't get a 'file not found' either. On attempting to load the URL I got a blank page: looking at the source code I found:

If you are trying to use a script to load the video this isn't going to work in iTunes, and evidently doesn't work in a browser either - you need to give the actual URL of the media (and ideally there should be no spaces in the filename). I'm afraid you are going to have to do some detective work.

Want to use Logic 8 Pro for Podcasting, help needed

I have a few problems. I just switched over to Logic after using ProTools for 4 years so I'm a newbie. I'm about to start a podcast soon and I want to use Logic 8 Pro to do so. Is there a book that someone can recommend me for getting familiar with Logic?
Here are the things I need to get done:
I have a mixer and I need to know how to record the sounds playing through my computer to end up in Logic. I basically want to be able to capture the audio playing on my computer and have that be on the podcast. How do I do this?
Secondly, I'm confused about what Input 1 and Input 2 are. What is the difference?
I'd appreciate anyone who could IM me to help me further with Logic if I have a quick question or anything. My AIM screen name is DirtyVibes. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what you are asking here. If you want to record the whole output of your computer, I recommend using a virtual audio driver like Soundflower or Jack.
Secondly, I'm confused about what Input 1 and Input 2 are. What is the difference?
Input 1 is the input marked "1" on your audio interface (or the left channel on a stereo pair).
Input 2 is the input marked "2".
If your audio interface has more than 2 inputs, they will all show up, so you can record different inputs to different tracks if required.
You might be better off using Garageband to record your podcasts, it's simpler and has dedicated podcast functions (like adding iTunes artwork and so on).

Change of Domain Name causes loss of podcasts - help please

Hi all
For the past 16 months i've posted monthly podcasts on iTunes. Last month I changed the domain name of the website they were pinged from and (I assume because of this) my podcasts are no longer on iTunes.
What's the best way to get my podcasts back? Do I:
1 - contact iTunes as if this is a brand new podcast and then submit them all?
2 - get iTunes to recognise that they are the same podcasts without having to go through the process for new podcasts (and if so, what is the best way to do that?)
3 - other?

I'm new to podcasting help please?

I have a website that's podcast compatible(powered by moveable type) www.omniversal.net. I have media files(mp3. wav.) already uploaded to my server via FTP. I recently made a podcast through a host server but I want to host it myself.
What do I need? I read that you can make a xml file but along the way of reading it I got really confused. Perhaps someone here can explain it to me so that I can understand it. The reason I want to host it myself is because my site has my gig space to host my media files. Once I learn how to host it myself I plan on changing the feed url.
Can someone help please? If this was already posted I apologize. A link to a in depth tutorial or a step through from the advance folks on this topic would be helpful and much appreciated.

Need to create a restricted podcast - Help!

Hi there! - I'm trying to create a podcast that requires authentication in order to download the materials, but I'm getting stuck.
I have created a public feed
The feed contains items that require authentication to download (on Box.com)
I can get the feed to pull up in iTunes, but the audio items won't download, or prompt authentication
The feed in iTunes doesn't display the image feed item
When I put the feed on Feedburner, it works great, and does force authentication
I'm stuck! - help!

I don't have an iOS device so I'm not familiar with the Podcasts app, but I'm not surprised it doesn't handle passwords: it's more surprising that the iTunes application does. I don't know whether that might be because of something else; but the facility is not available in the Store and I have a feeling that the Podcasts app works from the Store rather than the feed - not sure about that, but it doesn't handle podcasts in quite the same way as the iTunes application. In any event, it's not Apple's intention that podcasts should be password protected, so I'm afraid you aren't going to be able to do this through the app. Possibly you can do this through your website.

My first podcast, help!

I made my first podcast on Garage Band but I'm not sure it got sent out right. It sent it to iWEB but when it opened in iweb there was a bunch of text in some other language except for my title. Idk where to go from here, if anyone could help me I'd really, really appreciate it.

there really is no way to remove particular sounds like coughs or baby noises from a mixed recording B-(>

Gaps of silence in podcasts-HELP

All downloaded podcasts play fine in itunes but while listening on ipod, the podcast stops briefly and then resumes. The farther into the podcast, the longer the gap of silence - some up to 10 sec. in length. This is very annoying. Can anyone help?

Potentially this is a problem with iPod refilling buffer properly. As file plays the iPod might not be refilling buffer used to prevent skipping. In this case the sound would stop while buffer is filled again.
Just a guess but this would be more noticable on bigger files.
