Podcast issues in 11.1.2.32

I have 64 bit Windows 7 and the latest update to iTunes.
I download lots of Librivox spoken word stories. I can no longer download any but the first episode. I get a window asking if I really want to download all the episodes, I click OK and ... nothing happens. This is a problem.
Last version was the same only when I clicked OK I got all episodes. This is not optimal, only having the "all or nothing" choice.
I preferred being able to choose what I wanted from the greyed-out list inside iTunes on my PC.
When can I expect that back? I downloaded this version hoping for the less than optimal condition to be fixed. Instead, my iTunes is broken.

I'm going to back up a version or two and wait for better days.

The podcasts I try to download get to 100% downloaded and then I get a message that the podcast had an error downloading cancel or retry. It's been consistent. Anyone else having these issues?

  • ATV 2.0.1 podcast issue

Updated last night, and have found an issue. Well an issue for me. I have stopped getting all video podcasts on my Imac to save space. Started getting them all in HD on my ATV. Now with the update, they sync back to my Imac. ***! Can this be turned off? Or am I the only one having this issue.

Logging off then back into YT fixed that problem.

  • Subscribe to podcast issue

Hi, I'm sure this question has been posted a lot elsewhere, but I can't find a solution that works. So...
When I (or my mates) attempt to subscribe to my podcast (I'm using firefox), a page with the following text appears "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."
According to a couple of posts i've read, it may be a firefox issue, or it may have something to do with my hosting company (I don't have a .mac account). Does any of this ring a bell?
I can subscribe in iTunes, but I don't want my site users getting tweaked or confused if they try to subscribe via my site (www.sixtycrickets.com).
    Many many thanks!

With regards to your Podcast submission difficulties,
you can always try to submit your podcast URL
directly to iTunes. Just control-click on the
subscribe button on your webpage and then copy the
link (but you will have to change the "itpc://" to
    "http://". Here are the steps...
    1. Open iTunes, click on the Music Store
    2. Select Podcast under the "Choose Genre" pulldown
menu on the left hand side of the page.
    3. Click on "Submit Podcast" underneath the pulldown
    menu
    4. Enter the Podcast feed URL copied from your
subscribe button but modified with "http://" prefix
    instead of the "itpc://"
    5. You'll be asked for your Apple ID logon info.
    6. That's it! You'll get a series of emails
confirming the receipt of your submission and
    approval of it inclusion.
Thanks again. Do you recommend going through the resubmission process even if I already have a podcast posted to iTunes? I don't want to make things more confusing.

  • Ipod update issues. podcast issues. tv show problems. very angry.

Ok. I have a barrage of problems. I went to the apple store and they gave me a new ipod hoping that fixes some of the issues. It didn't. I won't be in town for a while so I cant go back to the store.
First off. I originally had a post about my problems here.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8362332#8362332
What changed from that, since getting the new ipod, is that I deleted all my tv shows ( i havnt even tried to replace them yet) I deleted and re-subscribed my podcasts. Now when i try to update my ipod, the podcasts freeze up and crash the ipod.
I have done EVERYTHING to try and fix this.
    I fixed permissions.
    Reinstalled, itunes and quicktime.
Deleted anything with itunes in it name.
    Deleted preferences.
Deleted all my podcasts and re downloaded them.
This just started happening, i don't remember downloading anything to cause this.
If anyone can help, that would be cool.
Also, I get this on my console repeatedly,
    11/3/08 12:40:13 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.app4mac.CheckUpAgent[1202]) posix_spawn("/Applications/CheckUp.app/Contents/MacOS/CheckUpAgent", ...): No such file or directory

Ok. New development. I have a bootable external and I backed everything up to it. I decided to boot into it, and voila! Everything plays and works fine. I updated my ipod and only one problem still exists. Podcast still transfer without me wanting them to. Everything else is fine. I'm beginning to wonder if its a hardware problem on my mac.

  • Automatically downloading podcasts - issue!

Ok, I have had an unfortunate situation.
I only have 5 gig on my peak d/l from my new isp of a week.
I have SERVERAL podcasts that I download each week.
I have NO internet service unless I use the off peak as itunes downloaded all my podcasts without me knowind - taking the bandwith.
How can I stop this and manually download when I want??
    Regards,
    Chris

Hi - I have an Airport Express 'n' version. Its connected to my DSL modem via an ethernet cable and to my stereo via cable as well. When I do stream music through it via itunes, it does cut out fairly frequently. I think this is happening when iTunes is automatically downloading podcasts. Is this an issue with the capacity of the Express? Or the capacity of my laptop (its a 2007 basic white Macbook)? Or even my cable modem?
    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
It's probably related to the quality of the Wi-Fi signal between your MacBook and AirPort Express. Launch AirPort Utility, invoke "manual setup" mode, pull down the Base Station menu and select the "Logs & Statistics" item, then select the "Wireless Clients" tab. That will show you information about that connection, including whether the times when the signal cuts out correspond to drops in the signal strength.

  • IPad podcast issue-please help!

I downloaded some podcast episodes on iPad today which synched to iTunes and my iPhone. I listened to several in a series called Career Opportunites. I marked them as played in iTunes, which removed them from the iPhone--but they are still showing up in iPad?
How do I get these removed from the iPad so they are no longer on the list there?
    Thanks!

If you put excessive pressure on the screen it can do this. That is normal.

  • Podcast Issues in iTunes 7.0.1

Occasionally my computer generates a good deal of heat (stupid Pentium 4). When it does, the fail safe kicks in and the computer is shut down. This happens sometimes when I am downloading podcasts...
After I reboot my laptop and re-open iTunes i get the ( ! ) of doom and iTunes pleads error 39 and refuses to download the podcasts it was JUST DOWNLOADING!!! Is there a solution or am I going back to iTunes 6?

Anyone else has this problem? Thanks.

Solved - had to actually have the Pod plugged in and finally figured it out. Thanks much for your help.

  • Video Podcast issue with iPod Video

    Hi
I just upgraded from 60GB photo to 80GB video and am having problems playing back some video podcasts. It plays back some but not others. The ones that don't work have audio but the video is jerky, i.e. it looks as if it is playing a still slideshow. I have checked the problem videos in iTunes and they play fine in there.
    Regards, Simon Smith

If anyone knows of an answer to this problem, I'd be grateful as well... having the same thing happen with a couple of my video podcasts as well.
    Cheers,
    Darren

  • Podcast issue on iPhone

    Hi,
I have a problem when connecting my iPhone. Podcasts I have listened to (up to the very end, ref. to previous posts and possible solution), do not show as they do on my iPod Nano, i.e. the "play count" and "last played" columns providing the number of times a podcast has been read and when remain blank. Also, the blue dots remain instead of disappearing or being half blue-half white in case of partial reading of a podcast. I use iTunes 9.0.3 and manage my music and videos, as well as podcasts, manually.
Any ideas why the same configuration works fine on my iPod Nano, but not on my iPhone?
    Thanks in advance.
    Eric

    Found !
You first need to Sync your iPhone. The same holds for Nike+: if you do not Sync first, even if you have "automatically send data to Nike+" activated, nothing happens on Nike+.

  • ITunes Freezes/Podcast Issue

iTunes recently started to freeze up.  I can't get to my podcasts, it lists "podcasts" as a header twice in the library menu.  Also, when I try to sync my iPod and go to select which podcasts to sync, it freezes up on that heading only.  I think the freeze has something to do with pdocasts.  Oh, by the way, all my old podcasts have been deleted.  Please help.

I was having the same problem until I uninstalled Perian and then all was well.
I have both full device freezes as well as a pause after teh video started for about a minute and the a juttery continue of the video.
If I watched 3 or 4 video's in a row I would completely lock up...
This is all gone now that I removed Perian
    Good luck!

  • Several Podcast issues - Explicit Tags, Logo not showing up...

I've been trying for while to figure this out on my own. We are uploading weekly podcast from a talk radio show program:
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/sandwich-generation-radio/id412767680
We are entering the podcast thru a WordPress Blog using a Podcasting Widget. However the podcasts are showing up as explicit when they are clearly not. They are entered as clean on the widget, why are they showing up explicity.
Also I've tried to replace the generic cover with our logo as well as the author from unknown and iTunes does not accept these changes.
Please let me know what other links or information I can provide.
    Cotell

iTunes is looking for a feed at
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/SandwichGenerationRadioShowWrigglingInTheMiddle
This is not a podcast feed - it's missing a number of vital tags, in addition to which the FeedValidator report throws up a number of serious errors which invalidate even as a non-podcast feed. As a result the Store is not updating and no-one can subscribe to your podcast.
This suggests that you made some change after the latest episode shown on the Store page. Your site links to a feed at
    http://www.wrigglinginthemiddle.com/?feed=rss2
The Feedvalidator report for this feed shows up some errors, but this feed can be subscribed to: however it's not the feed registered with the iTunes Store.
It rather looks as if you have submitted an incorrect feed to Feedburner - from the look of it it may be that you've submitted the feed for the blog, not the podcast, but this is something you'll have to investigate.

  • How do we use the same Apple id for Family sharing without syncing podcast?

We tried to set up family sharing to share apps and music but our podcasts kept updating, syncing and wold get deleted when another member would listen to hem or delete them to make room on their device. Can we share without this podcast issue?

You can set the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Stores, but have different Apple ID's for Messages, iCloud and Facetime.
    Settings->iCloud->Apple ID->Sign Out
    Settings->Facetime->Apple ID->Sign Out
    Settings->Messages->Send & Receive->Apple ID->Sign Out
Just go into Settings, and make sure the Apple ID set for those services is different for both iPads.

  • Podcasts No Longer Sync to iPod

    Greetings!
I've several video podcasts I'm subscribed to that no longer sync to the iPod no matter what I do. It seems to have started at the last OS update, but I'm not sure. I can drag and drop the things onto the iPod in iTunes and the sync settings are to sync the latest 5 of all podcasts, but they still won't go to the iPod.
    Anyone else run into this?

Sorry, I have no answer for you either as I am just experiencing this myself. I've been having major issues with my (6 month old, btw) iPod lately and wonder if it's time to restore?
I keep having to reset it and every time I try to start it back up, it crashes. I'm guessing a restore will help this but was also wondering if it will help the podcast issue too?
