Podcast missing on iTunes
Hi,
After more than a year I got booted off iTunes for an xml parsing error. I fixed it, but I can't get the podcast restored. I have been trying for weeks. When I try to submit it again, I am told that the feed has already been submitted. What should I do??
Thank you Roger! Please forgive my ignorance, but when you say "podcast creation program"... Are you referring to the host website that I use for my podcast? I upload each episode to Podbean. Then iTunes grabs it from there.
From the way you described it, I bet that is what is happening. How would I go about changing the setting to increase the number of podcasts allowed? Would I do that on podbean or iTunes?

Our podcast of 6+ years is gone from iTunes. We received no information regarding this and resubmition results in the "This podcast has already been submitted" message. We have been in the top 5 in sports and the top 100 overall every year since starting this show (as high as #5 overall), and it seems as though all is lost now with no information as to why. We had a 4.5 star rating with over 500 reviews.
Any advice/help would be appreciated.

No explination whatsoever. It was definietly gone before, but now I can see everything that was there before and we are showing up in search results again. I have a feeling someone fixed something. Just glad it's resolved. -
Two episodes of my podcast missing on iTunes???
Hello. I have hosted a podcast for a few years now. I just did my 22nd episode. When I went into iTunes today to look at my podcast, I realized that the first two podcasts I did (oldest) are not showing up on iTunes. I have never had this problem before. They are showing up on my host website and you can play them there.
Anybody have any ideas for me?

Link to Podcast in iTunes Store Missing in iTunes 10
In previous versions of iTunes, there was a button at the right side of the "Podcast" column in list view. Clicking on this button would immediately take you to the podcast's iTunes store page where you could post a review, write a review, etc. This convenience is missing from iTunes 10.
If anyone knows of a workaround or a way to bring the button back, I would sure appreciate it!I'm so glad to see this post here!!! When that little triangle disappeared in iTunes 10 I had a minor freak out. I have 83 different podcast feeds in my podcast list (I just counted -- that's even more than I thought I had, yeesh), and like others who commented here, I don't subscribe to all of them, but I want to check several of them on a regular basis. It's totally annoying to have to go to the store and search for the podcast each time.
I sort of wonder if it's a way to get us to navigate through the iTunes Store front page every time we want something from the podcast realm on there. In other words, is it maybe a sales tactic? Like putting chocolate bars at eye level for my kids at the supermarket checkout line?
At any rate, I'd love to see that feature back too. A LOT. -
is there an EASY way to submit podcasts to the itunes store? i've tried creating podcasts in garageband, then somewhere after wordpress itunes doesn't recognize the feed.
my process has been (i am open to suggestions for other free and EASY services/methods):
garageband : create & edit audio. add 1400x1400 image.
share to itunes.
drag file to desktop.
upload .m4a file to google drive.
create a link post in wordpress using "podcast" tag & create "podcast" category.
click on "entries rss" in wordpress, which takes me to the rss subscribe page (which is basically just my wordpress address with "/feed" at the end.
i copy this url.
go to itunes store > then "submit a podcast"
itunes gives me the error message "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed."
when i try to subscribe to my podcast in itunes, it does, but gives me no episodes available.
i went back into wordpress and changed settings/ reading settings to : "full text" from "summary"
still the same error message.
i added a feedburner step after wordpress but got the same errors. i don't think i should have to add feedburner.
wordpress seems to be encapsulating the rss, what am i doing wrong?
this so much easier when you could go directly from garage band to iweb to mobileme; i miss those apple days (also idisk).if anyone has a super EASY process, i would LOVE to know what it is. EASY, meaning no html and also free. there are many free online storage systems available, many of which i currently use. the above process was just me trying to figure it out, if you have an easier method, please share. thank you so much!

Lyrics Tab is Missing in iTunes 12
The lyrics tab is missing in iTunes 12. Many of my podcasts use that to list the tracks for long mixes. I can open those podcasts in a 3rd party player & access the data still. Why is it gone now?
exactly! the lyrics tab is one of the most important things for me and i guess anyone who listens to long mixes (as you have already mentioned). my fav tracks from hundreds of mixes are in the lyrics tab.

Podcast items not showing on Podcast Page in iTunes App

It's possible to subscribe to the podcast, and all items are being shown in the library as well, but not in iTunes Store View within iTunes App.

In the meantime, we scanned the XMLfrom the RSS-Source (http://www.uzh.ch/news/topics/multimedia.rss) but we could not confirm any missing </image> closing tag.. : /
You're speaking of 21 instances of 'image' tags while there are only 20 items available in this feed - maybe the 21st might be the <itunes:image... />-tag (for the podcast art) which is not in need of a closing tag?
We know that iTunes doesn't like our image tag on item level. However, we do need this tags for other usage of this video-article-feed (f.ex. normal RSS feed subscribing) which is why we cannot remove it. But: do you know of any «trick» of specifically blocking that element for iTunes store since its troubling the latter so much?

My podcast still loads on the podcast app, but i cannot find the podcast in the itunes store
My 200 plus episodes are on my already subscribed podcast app and they load there fine, but when i try to find the podcast in the iTunes store,it is gone. I tried to reload my RSS feed to itunes, but it says that feed is already loaded. I recently added a new RSS feed for another show and where posting the same shows in both. I have one as the network where i post many different shows, but also have one of those shows on its own RSS feed so people could subscribe to just that show as well. The one thats missing is Wild Jones Podcast Network, the one that shows is Sativa Sports Talk.

It is valid - but missing the iTunes category - that should not be why it went missing - that said - in your libsyn account for that show - go to "Destinations" and then click on "Edit" for Libsyn Classic Feed - and add in the iTunes category on that page and click save. You should also enter the other info while on that page as well.
That said - the reason why your show was removed from iTunes is that you have profanity in the show description.
You can not have any profanity in the show title / description or the episode title or description. Apple has a bot that removes the shows if there is profanity - and there are 3 F-bombs in your shows feed. You will need to remove all of them - and any other profanity - once that is done - then contact me - ************* - and let me know and I will help you get back into iTunes

Why can't I see new podcast episodes in iTunes?
I only subscribe to a couple of podcasts but have several where I pick-and-choose from new episodes to download and then listen to on my iPod.
Under past versions of iTunes I would simply right-click on a podcast in my iTunes Podcasts folder, select "Show all episodes" or something similar, and the latest episodes would appear at the top and I could pick and choose which ones to download. However, under the new version, I don't see that option anymore. All my podcasts seemed to have stopped at approximately September 24, 2013. I can hit "show old episodes" and it reveals ones older than that but I can't see the ones added since. Deleting all podcasts and then downloading a new episode from the store doesn't help either.
What am I missing? I don't want to subscribe to the podcasts and download episodes that don't interest me. The only workaround I have found is to just go to the iTunes store, search for the podcast, and then download new episodes from there but that seems unnecessarily cumbersome when in the past I could just use a couple mouseclicks or less to see what was new. I feel like I must be missing something obvious...Carolyn's response is of no help.
Do I understand correctly that the feature where you could see the available podcasts in your podcast list is now gone? Thge only way to see a podcast you are not subscribed to is to go to the iTunes store? That s**ks! The iTunes store is slow; it displays images I don't want to see, and it is tedious. Can I delete podcast files from iTunes?
I am running iTunes11.2.2 on an iMac, OS X Lion. In older versions of iTunes I could use iTunes' Delete function to remove a podcast from the iTunes library; a dialog box would display confirming removal from iTunes, then a secondary dialog box would display asking if I wanted to keep the file or move it to the trash. This function is similar to the workflow that displays if you want to delete a song from the iTunes library.
Over the past several versions of iTunes I have found that I cannot delete podcast files from the iTunes interface. I can remove the podcast from iTunes, but no dialog displays asking me if I want to keep the file or move the file to the trash. I must now navigate to the file's home in Finder and manually delete it from there.
Does anyone know if this delete functionality was removed altogether? There may be a setting in iTunes that I am missing but I need help being pointed in the right direction. It is frustrating that Apple would seemingly take away this function for podcasts, yet leave it in place for other media types in the iTunes library.See... wait for it... How do I delete a podcast episode in itunes 11?
I typically download podcast episodes in iTunes and then sync them with my phone. I listen to the podcasts on my iPhone and then delete them when done. I have been doing this for years. Now, I cannot figure out how to delete the individual episodes from my podcasts in iTunes 11. What am I missing?

I started out with an Apple+ way back when. We came back from Christmas vacation to a faculty meeting where an AEA (Area Education Agency) employee was to introduce us to this new BIG DEAL - computers!
Afterward, the math/science people the superintendent expected to get so excited took a walk while his ENGLISH department learned to type 10 HELLO, etc. until you got a document window open and could enter text, AND CORRECT IT, causing it to print out WITHOUT mistakes. My typing skills were non-existent, so I went to the elementary teachers and borrowed a program they used to introduce students in second grade to the keyboard. (I was a jr./sr. high school teacher, and nobody could figure out why I'd never been taught to type.
Sigh.
I SURE HOPE THEY GET OVER THIS MESS IN A HURRY! I want to go back to i-Tunes 10+ whatever I was at, but Lion won't let me dump i-Tunes, as it is part of the OS. BUMMER!
Most of all I hate the sneaky way they introduced this, just like it was a regular upgrade, not something that would ruin our work methods of many year's standing and giving us NOTHING to replace it with short of scrolling down through 1700+ podcasts. UCK! -
When opening iTunes on my new Windows 7 PC I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail, even tried it on a different user account and still nothing. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.

Have you actually opened these files to see what they are yet? The few Apps I've downloaded (not from iTunes) typically come with a few files. The actual app, the instructions/help/TOU and sometimes an uninstall.

How do I delete my podcast from the itunes store?
I submitted a podcast to iTunes, but have since deleted the account on the website I was using to host the podcast. Whenever I try to use the report a concern option to delete the podcast from the iTunes store, it tells me to go to the RSS feed and change it, but I cannot do this since I have deleted the account to the website where I would change the RSS feed. What should I do?
Email Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and ask them to remove the podcast, explaining that you cannot access the feed. In any case, as I assume the feed is no longer accessible by iTunes, the podcast will get removed eventually anyway.

Is there a way to combine separate podcast directories in iTunes
I recently had to do a wipe and reinstall of my system. One of the reasons for doing this is because I could not get iTunes to consolidate my libraries, so they were split between two external drives. After I did the wipe, I realized I did not save the library file, so I went to iTunes and did an "Add to Library" on both drives with iTunes Libraries. This worked great for the most part, however several, though not all, of my Podcasts show up in two different directories with the same name in iTunes. When I look at the library, all of the files are actually in one directory on the external drive.
What I would like to do is combine the two Podcast directories currently showing in iTunes with the same name into one Podcast directory. To be clear, under the Podcast section of iTunes, I gave two folders with the same name that contain all of the podcasts for that show. There is no duplication and when I check the Library where the files are kept, they are all in one folder.
