Podcast push on my iphone

Hi there,
I would like to get my podcast automatically uploaded (like mail push) on my iphone at a pre determined time of the day. I know it is possible to design a program using the itunes wifi sync tool, but i would like this program to run without needing a connection to my labtop. Ideally, my iphone would upload the podcasts at a certain time just on its own, without opening any applications or anything. Does anyone know how to make that happen? Thank you for your help !

I'm having the same problem, except my phone is an iPhone 5.  Hotmail stopped pushing a while back, and I thought it was just me not paying attention, but it seems to have changed to fetching whenever the mail app is active.  It's driving me crazy.  It is definitely not pushing.

How do I disable podcasts and genius on iPhone 4s? I find them annoying?

Are you talking about imessage?  If you receive a imessage with a bunch of other number included, best way to reply is to send a new text to the sender, so that way only that person receives the reply and not the whole group.

  • I have a podcast 'stuck' on my iPhone 4

I have a podcast 'stuck' on my iPhone 4. The podcast in question encountered an error when downloading.
I can't remove this by sliding to delete on the iPhone itself (when I swipe nothing happens), or by syncing / removing via iTunes.
When I view Settings > General > Usage > Music on the iPhone the podcast does not appear there either to allow me to delete it. Is there any other way that I can remove this rogue podcast without resetting to factory settings?
    Many thanks.
    Robbie

    hook up to itunes
locate your device in the sidebar, hit the triangle for the dropdown menu
click on podcasts (under your device name)
find the rogue podcast on the screen
    click it and hit delete.
    this should delete it manually

  • HT5295 Does anyone else have an issue with the way iTunes fails to properly sync a podcast downloaded to an iPhone or iPad when connected to iTunes later?

When I download a podcast directly to my iPhone or iPad and listen to it I expect it to reflect that status when I come home. Instead the podcast downloads again in iTunes and then wonderful joy it changes the status to unplayed and I wind up having to figure out what I've listened to and what I haven't (I listen to a lot of 'em).

I'm not having issues.  What have you done to troubleshoot?

  • HT201398 Why won't podcast app work on iPhone 5 after ios 8.1.3 update?

Why won't podcast app work on iPhone 5 after ios 8.1.3 update?
I've restarted the phone and itunes several times, have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the phone and itunes separately, and it still just shows 'Installing" under the greyed out app.

I have the same problem with an iPhone 5s. All podcast fail to work on the phone since updating to iOS 8.1.3. What is going on? Is Apple taking this problem serious?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download, so if you're asking whether you need to connect the iPhone to your computer's iTunes (if that is where you've downloaded it) in order to get the audiobook on it then yes, you will need to sync it the phone, you can't re-download it on the phone.

  • Podcast app crashes, new iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.2

Anyone else having problems with the Apple Podcast app in iOS 8.1.2? The app crashes after being open for about 30 seconds.
I have tried updating the Podcast app. I have tried erasing my iPhone and restoring from a backup. Nothing works.
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a good app that can play the podcasts stored on my iPhone by iTunes. I have tried Overcast, but it seems to require resubscribing and downloading my podcasts again, without recognizing the podcasts already transferred to my iPhone by iTunes.
    Thank you.
    Brian

Same here (iphone 6, ios 8.1.2), podcast startup normal and just auto quit while begin to play.
Strange enough, I check with control center and press the play button... it works, really **** off!!

  • How do I erase entire podcasts downloaded on my iPhone?

I accidentally downloaded certain podcasts onto my iPhone, and I'd really like to purge it from my iPhone. How do I do this?
Please email me at [email protected] - Thanks.

You can delete a podcast from your iPhone by swiping your finger across the podcast to bring up the red Delete button. The same applies to deleting a video.
Or if the podcasts were transferred from your iTunes library on your computer via the iTunes sync process, you can remove the podcasts the same way - by syncing. Deselect the podcasts under the Podcasts tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync. The same applies to removing music, video, and photos from your iPhone that were previously transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.

  • No Podcasts on iTunes for iPhone

Does anyone know if apple is planning on adding podcasts to the iTunes for the iphone?

I think what the OP was asking about was getting the podcasts directly through the iPhone's iTunes application rather than syncing them from the computer's iTunes application. It would be kind of nice, especially when traveling.

    Hope you enjoy it!

I have also switched to outlook as a conduit for my gmail.  Push works great to my IOS devices and there is also the great benefit of very easy integration with Outlook 2013 on my windows PC. The only small glitch i have found is when an email is forwarded from gmail into the outlook inbox, if I reply-all, it adds my own gmail address to the reply, which then is auto-forwarded back to the outlook inbox when I send it.  Pretty sure this is because I'm sending from the outlook account, but the gmail address was the original recipient.  Minor hassle but seems worth it given all the other benefits. Any ideas on a solution?
I ran the outlook tool to import all my historical email from gmail into my outlook.com account. It worked quite well, but one question. In addition to recreating folders that lined up with my gmail labels, it also created an outlook "category" with the same name as my gmail address.  And it populated that category (at least I think so) with every email from my gmail account. I think this may essentially be the all-mail from gmail, but does anyone know what's going on with this?  I'm not at all familiar with outlook categories.  I actually had two gmail accounts, imported them both, and it created two categories, one for each gmail address.  If I just delete those categories, will it affect the way my emails appear and the folders that were created?  The categories only appear when I'm on line at the outlook.com site. No sign of them in the iOS devices or when using Outlook 2013.
Also, per the original instructions above, what does step 4 do?
"4. click right top gear – More mail settings – Writing email – Reply-to address – Select your Gmail"

  • Push email on iphone 4

I registered my school email on my iphone 4 and chose the push email setting yet it seems like its not working. Anybody have any advice on how to fix this?

There are a few things that you need to find out.
1.) Is your school running and Exchange Server? If they're not, then you can't set the account up to push email, you can only fetch.
2.) If they are running an Exchange Server, did you set up the email account on your iPhone as an Exchange account, Or did you set it up as an email account under the "other" category? If it's not set up as an Exchange account then your mail will not push.
Both Push and fetch are enabled by default on the iPhone, but push will only work for email accounts that support the push capability. The only two account types that support push on the iPhone are Exchange or Mobileme. Otherwise the mail account will automatically default to fetch.
To me it sounds like the account that you have set up is not set up as an account that supports push.
I know it's confusing because in the "mail, contacts, calendar" section of the settings section, under "Fetch New Data," it says "Push," so you may think that your mail is supposed to push.
Please let me know what you find out.

  • Emails not pushed to my iPhone again

I notice today that emails are again not pushed to my iPhone. It has been working fine since the last upgrade to MobileMe. i deleted the mail account and reinstalled and the problem is still there. Emails will only be downloaded when I open the Mail application on the phone.
Anyone having the same problem over the last 12 hours or so?

Even though you have Push set to on, I'm not aware of any POP accounts that actually push. I believe you are just getting your mail via the 15 minute Fetch that you have set. And if they were truly push accounts, you would not need to turn Fetch on.
If you send yourself an email from another device to one account that you say works, does it actually get pushed? What I mean is, do you receive the mail right away, or do you only get mail every 15 minutes as you set your fetch? If you go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data>Advanced, you should see all of your email accounts listed there. What settings do you have there, push, fetch, Manual? I believe only accounts that support Push will have a selection for Push. If set to Fetch, it will fetch on the schedule you have set there, and if set on Manual, they will only check for mail when you open the Mail client. See what settings you have there.
