Podcast removed from the iTunes directory as a result of technical problem

I received an email from iTunes informing me that my feed:
http://www.mevio.com/feeds/d4emixtape.xml
Had been removed from the iTunes directory because the feed had some sort of technical issue. I've checked the feed a couple of ways including using Feed Validator and all seems to be working ok.
I tried to resubmit the feed, but I get an 'It appears the feed had already been submitted' error.
There is a duplicate feed that was being used from a different server (Odeo), but I stopped using that about four years ago. I have requested that feed to be removed.
I've contacted Apple Support to get the current feed back on iTunes, but that hasn't been any help.
Any advice on what I can do to get the my podcast feed back in iTunes?

Your feed appears to be technically OK. When the iTunes removes a podcast it usually says 'technical reasons', whatever the actual reason may be. One possible reason for removal is suspected copyright violations, and it's possible (I'm not saying this actually is the case) that they are concerned that your 'mixes' contain copyright material for which you don't have either the written permission of the copyright owner or a podcast licence from a recognized authority. As I say, I just mention that as a possibility to consider.
As to resubmitting: the title of your feed is 'D4E Hip Hop Mixtape' and there is already a podcast of that name showing in the Store (though it's looking for the feed which you have removed). Even if that one gets removed, you are still likely to get the same error - there appears to be a minor bug in the Store software which claims that a podcasts has already been submitted even if either the podcast hasn't been accepted previously or if one of the same name has been removed.
To get round this you need to make a small change in the title - a single character would probably do - and resubmit. You can always change the title back once it's been accepted.
As to removing the old podcast, did you follow the procedure outlined here?

  • Podcast removed from the itunes store after 4 years

    Hi
At the moment I think apple really suck big time. After building up a successful presence in the itunes store with my podcast I feel all my hard work has been in vain. Today I received an email saying that my podcast has been removed from the itunes store. This was obviously an automated email and just makes me angry that it has just been removed. My podcast has been in the top 200 music charts over the last few months so I was really pleased. I try to release an episode every month so it has always been regularly updated. I have also ran my feed through feedvalidator.org and this says that the feed is valid. Can someone please shed any light on this as I am really p****d off right now.
    My feed is http://djsharky.podbean.com/feed
    Any help would be great.
Also I know I had a number of reviews etc so have I lost everything that I have built up now?
    Regards
    Richard

Also this was the email I got:
    Dear Podcast Owner
The following podcast has not been included in the iTunes podcast directory.
Name: DJ Sharky: The Trance & Electro Podcast
    Feed URL: http://djsharky.podbean.com/feed/
Submissions may not be included in the directory for a variety of reasons. For more information, please see the podcast technical specification at http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/techspecs.html.

    The iTunes Store Team

  • Why were podcasts removed from the stable Music app?

Why were podcasts removed from the stable Music app? If it was absolutely necessary to have a seperate Podcasts app, why couldn't we have kept the iOS 6 option of leaving podcasts in the Music app if we didn't download the Apple Podcasts app. Since the iPhone 3g I have never had an issue with the Music app, it's always be reliably stable, yet it's been problem after problem after being forced to download the Podcasts app after updating to iOS 7.
    1) Podcasts app, every version since being forced to download it with iOS 7, has never synced correctly with iTunes. My phone is always missing podcasts that I've set to sync and want to listen to when I'm away from my computer. Seems like this should be a basic function (one that worked flawlessly when podcasts were in the Music app)
    2) Since the last two updates, it has been CRASH AD INFINITUM. Not a single podcast will play for more than a second before the app crashes to springboard. The newest update that supposedly 'fixed' the stability issue fixed nothing for me. What is the point of all the new features if the app won't stay open? I don't want new features, I just want to sync podcasts from iTunes and then listen to them on my phone. Podcasts really should be that simple!
I've killed Apple Podcasts app from the multitasking view. Restarted app. Crash.
I've deleted Apple Podcasts app, and all data, re-installed, and synced. Crash.
I've deleted Apple Podcasts app, and all data, re-installed, did not sync, downloaded a podcast from within the app. Crash.
I've restored my phone, only installed the Podcasts app, downloaded a podcast from within the app. Crash.
Bought a paid third-party app, downloaded a podcast from with the app. Enjoyed listening to a podcast.

    Hi,
This is a Google problem - they have purposefully removed the app.
    Sorry about that!

  • How Do I Get An Uploaded Song Removed From The iTunes Store That I Own?

I own a production company and I own a song that has been uploaded to iTunes Store for sale.  I am having problems with the people that I have trusted in properly administering the publishing aspects of the song. How do i get the song removed from the iTunes Store so i can get it re-released under another publishing group who have shown they can properly administer the publishing/copyrighting/monetary aspects of my song?

No they didn't. You can still create your own ringtone using computer iTunes.
    Here are the steps:
Select a title (.mp3 or .m4a) in your iTunes Library
    2. Do File > Get Info on selected title (Windows do Edit > Get Info)
    3. In the dialog choose Options tab
    4. Set Start Time and End Time (no more than 35 secs otherwise won't work)
    5. Close dialog.
    6. Now control click the title (right click) and choose Create AAC Version
    7. When it is done, drag the newly create title to the desktop.
    8. Delete the newly create title in iTunes.
    9. Rename the title on your desktop from ringtone.m4a to ringtone.m4r
    10. Drag and drop it into iTunes
    Now you have a ringtone.
Make sure it is selected in iTunes's Tones tab for syncing with your iPhone.

when i ask for Authorizeed computer i got the message " make sure your computer' date is set correctly and that it accepts cookies from the itunes stores " how can i solve this problem please .

Ok, so I just worked out that itunes communicates through your browser so it's a cookie in the browser not PC direct that fixes this.  Bit of a convoluted route but for me it was IE>Internet setting>privacy>sites, then allow all activity from apple.com/itunes.

  • Podcast gone from the iTunes Music Store

I am pleading for assistance to get my education podcast relisted in the iTunes Music Store.
Our podcast has be listed in the iTunes Music Store for a while. 24 hours ago our podcast is now gone from the iTunes Store but can be found at this direct link:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=263153505
The feed is in the valid iTunes format and is a "clean" podcast. Can someone please tell me how to get the podcast relisted?
    Thank you.

Try this - It works for music downloads:
Delete the video from iTunes library and choose move to trash.
Take it out of the trash and put it on the desktop.
Click on it, and it opens iTunes and plays.
Depending on your settings, this should also add it back to your iTunes Folder. Once you're sure it's there, you can delete the copy on your desktop.

  • Is Music Removed From The Itunes Store?

    November 1, 2006
    Hi Guys,
I was browsing around in itunes yesterday for some music I heard on a radio station. I found that itunes had several of the artists I was looking for, and I decided to return to the store today to buy them. However, when I went back on the itunes store, I tried using power search to pull the songs I wanted to buy up again, only to find that the songs weren't there (I just got the "Your search did not match any results." message)
The thing is, I KNOW that these exact same songs were on the power search just yesterday evening. Does Apple remove songs from the itunes store if they are not as popular as others, or is it just my itunes program acting up? (the songs I was looking at I found by digging way down deep in the Electronic section).
I would appreciate anybody's answers to this problem.
    Thanks,
    Phil Shaw
    - Itunes User
P.S. Here is a couple of songs I wanted to buy that have apparently "disappeared" from the itunes store. Mabey one of you guys could plug these into the power seach and see if they come up on your itunes program:
    1. "Pimp on Vacation" by Unforscene
    2. "Remember Me" by Elak
    3. Various songs by The Clifford Gilberto Rhythm Combination
Dell Precision M90   Windows XP Pro

    Ph1l2007,
It is possible that you may be looking at the iTune Store for a different country.
Click on the Home icon at the top of the iTunes Store window, and the scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Make sure the country pull down is correct, and then try your search again.
    Thank you,
    Nathan C.

  • Help! My Podcast was removed from the iTunes store!

I hadn't updated in some while, and have had to switch hosts.
When I attempt to pull it up in iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=348596984
it says it's no longer available in the U.S. store.
I still have the same feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/meetingwithmasters
I just relaunched and loaded the first episode, and going to add the rest to the new host- I can't resubmit it to iTunes, as it says the feeds already been used.
    What can I do?
Really appreciate your help and feedback!
    Jon

The most likely reason for removal is that you feed was inaccessible for a period - was this the case? There's no other obvious reason such as unacceptable contents or copyright violation as far as I can see.
In order to re-submit it you will need to change the title slightly in order to avoid the error message you've seen.

  • Why's my podcast been removed from the iTMS?

I've set up a college podcast, called edPod, and we've so far recorded only a preview episode. Being the eager beaver I am, I submitted my feed to the iTunes Music Store.
Within a few hours, I had received an email from '[email protected]', saying the following:
"This is to inform you that your podcast has been removed from the iTunes Music Store because of a technical problem with your feed.
If your problem can be resolved, you can fix it in your RSS feed, and then re-publish your podcast to the Music Store."
That would be fine... if I knew what was wrong with my feed! I've looked at the apple podcast feed guidelines (http://phobos.apple.com/static/iTunesRSS.html) - and I can't see anything 'abusive' about my feed compared to their example.
Maybe you've been through the same experience, and could lend a hand? My podcast feed is http://www.kedst.ac.uk/edpod/edpod.xml
I'm totally at a loss as to what's wrong with my feed. Can anyone help?
    Thanks!
    MadMacZed

    Aha, that's helpful MacMuse!
However, I'm not too sure about why my feed is utf-8 while the server is ASCII. The college is in charge of the server, I just upload files to it! :P
I can see that the second line contains a "DTDs" rather than "dtds"... but since I use the application "Podcast Maker" to construct my rss feed - if I change the xml file on the server, will PodcastMaker overwrite it with the wrong information again the next time I update my feed? I suppose I will have to try it and find out! Also, Apple's own example has a capital DTDs... so surely that can't be the reason my podcast has been rejected?
Thanks again! I'll be back to tell you if it has worked or not!

  • Podcast removed from Store

    Hi
I have had some problems with my server, so the feed was not availible for some time. Unfortunatly the podcast was removed from the iTunes store.
Now that the feed is online again I can't find it in iTunes Store.
If i try to Re-submit the podcast to the iTunes Directory, the feed appear to already bee in use, but still cannot be found in the Store.
The podcast is working if I enter the adress, but cannot be found by search.
Do anyone have an idea on how to get it back in the store?
    the feed:
    http://www.betaniakrs.no/podcast/rss.xml
    Thanks for any help!
    kr
    Torgrim Andersen

You've fallen over a bug in the automated part of the sumbissions process which tells you that the feed has already been submitted, even though it's been removed. The workaround is to change the title slightly - if you can change the feed filename as well that would help. You can always change the title back once it's been accepted.

  • Removing podcast feed from the directory

    Hello,
I have read up on how to remove a feed from the directory, but when I go to the store the option "is mine and I want it removed from the Music Store" is not present. Why would this be? Is there another way to remove a feed.
Also I want to remove this feed and replace it with one that has a similar title at a different URL. I want to change it from theantenna to The Antenna.
    Will this be a problem?
    best,
    a

Correct. There is no option for "is mine and I want it removed"...There is an option for "remove podcast" and a text box to explain. However, it's still up to the iTunes staff to remove the podcast and they seem to be quite slow in doing so.
Also supposedly if the feed no longer exists, they should remove the podcast from the directory.
Also, as an alternative, you might consider using the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag in you old feed's XML file at the old location to change the URL of your existing podcast to the new one. Change the <title> in the XML to change the title of your podcast, iTunes will pick up the change the next time it updates.

  • HT1819 Remove my podcast from the iTunes

These instructions are no longer up to date.

How do I remove a Podcast from the Itunes catelog/store?

Email Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and ask them to remove the podcast, explaining that you cannot access the feed. In any case, as I assume the feed is no longer accessible by iTunes, the podcast will get removed eventually anyway.

  • How do I delete my podcast from the itunes store?

I submitted a podcast to iTunes, but have since deleted the account on the website I was using to host the podcast. Whenever I try to use the report a concern option to delete the podcast from the iTunes store, it tells me to go to the RSS feed and change it, but I cannot do this since I have deleted the account to the website where I would change the RSS feed. • Podcast Removed from iTunes

My podcast has been removed from iTunes, and I don't know why.
If you were to do a Google search, you can easily find it, and the following link is provided:
itunes.apple.com/ie/podcast/arc-light-stories/id404452832. However, if you open that link in iTunes you are told that the podcast no longer exists.
Is it permanently gone even though Google can still find this link?
The feed for the podcast is arclightstories.com/podcast/feed.xml, and it has been working fine.
I've been using Podcast Generator to create the feed and send it to iTunes.
Is there any way to restore it to the store without losing my subscribers?
Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated.

Your podcast does appear to have been removed from the Store, There's no real way of knowing why - it might even be an error - a quick look at the feed suggests that it's unlikely that it's a matter of unacceptable content or copyright violation.
You could try emailing Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com but you likely won't get a helpful answer, in which case you will have to re-submit it as a new podcast. You will need to change the title slightly or you will be told it has already been submitted, and it's a good idea to keep the feed filename.
Your subscribers can still see your feed - the Store is not involved once they have subscribed - and you can move them to another feed by following the instructions here:
