Podcast said to be purchased in 1970?

My podcast is in iTunes and everything, only when I download an episode, under the "Summary" in Get Info, it says "Purchase Date: 1/1/1970 12:00AM"
Has anyone else seen this?
20" iMac Mac OS X (10.4.9) iLife '06, Microsoft Office 2004, and I'm single! (hey, it says other details..)

I just looked at a couple of mine and I'm seeing the same thing.
I'm assuming that there is no metadata in the file that shows a purchase date, so iTunes is defaulting to the earliest date it has in it's calendar perhaps.
I also have music and video that I have purchased from the iTunes store. There is some inconstancies in whether they show a purchase date or not, but if it is the date is correct.

What is the exact error message you're receiving?

Can't download new podcasts or recent book purchases in iTunes

I can't download new podcasts or recent book purchases in iTunes. I'm using iTunes 10.6.1 on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.4. This started a week ago. I unsubscribed and resubscribed to my podcasts (no luck). I whitelisted the possible sending domains from a whitepaper I found on this site (no luck). I haven't added any other software or made any other changes to my computer configuration.
I bought these books on my iPad and they aren't downloaded there either (previously had no problems buying and downloading books to both iPad and MacBook). Interestingly, I was also unable to download App updates on my computer via iTunes until just now, when they suddenly were successfully downloaded. I've been able to download App updates on both iPad and iPhone all along.

Forgot to post the error message I've been getting when I open iTunes:
"There were problems downloading some purchased items.
For more information on the items that could not be downloaded, click below.
There was a problem downloading “The Blind Assassin / Margaret Atwood”. You do not have the privilege to make changes.
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.
There was a problem downloading “Journey Into Fear / Eric Ambler”. You do not have the privilege to make changes.

ITunes downloaded songs it said I already purchased

So I just downloaded the new St. Lucia album, and next to 5 songs that I already bought as singles or other EPs, said "Purchaced" so I did "complete my album" however, out of those 5 songs, iTunes decided to redownload 3 of them, even though it said I already purchased them. Anyone else have this problem or a solution? I emailed the tech support to see if I can get reimbursed but I wanted to see if anyone else had an answer. Thanks!!

Can't play two podcasts that i've purchased how do i get them back

I've purchased two podcasts on i-tunes just synced my iphone so i can listen to them and there not there it says they can't be found even though there showing in my purchases with a ! next to them how can i get them back without paying again.

Please provide more detail. How was your account changed? What changed? What errors do you get (if any) when trying to update an app? We are kind of going blind here with such vague description of your issue.

Bear in mind that you are not entitled to a refund of any type since the terms of the iTunes and App Store are "All Sales Final". That doesn't mean that you will not get a refund - you are just NOT ENTITLED to a refund.
I suggest that you watch what the 5 year old child is doing when he has the iPad.

Podcast Error-Can't "Purchase"

So, I'm an avid podcast listener for several different areas and with the new installment of itunes now when clicking on the "free" tab where it would start download it no longer does anything. The most I can get out of my clicking is if I click too much it starts playing a clip of it. Please help. I need my fix.

If you ever get a receipt from them, they give you links in the email receipt to report problems. I also believe in iTunes under the help menu (or Store...forget what menus they have as I am at work) there is a menu item to report a problem.

now reconnect to wifi

if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

IBooks and Podcast in Purchase History

Why is iBooks and Podcasts appearing in the iTunes purchase history for $0.00 for these apps that are integrated with iOS 8? It gets listed every time I restore the iOS 8 device.

Each time I erase device and setup as new and then first open iBooks and Podcasts it triggers another purchase of iBooks v3.2 and Podcast v2.2 for $0.00 each to my iTunes purchase history on the PC. Why is that happening?

When doing Transfer Purchases from an iDevice, iTunes transfers podcasts

When I connect my iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to my Mac and choose Transfer Purchases, I expect iTunes to copy all of the songs, videos and apps from the iDevice to iTunes. It does that but it also transfers podcasts I've downloaded on the iDevice, which is annoying. I always then have to delete the podcast from iTunes and from the iDevice. Is there some way to exclude podcasts from the Transfer Purchases function?

okay, should have serched a little more.. all I had to do was CTRL + b in my library to view the file menu, and under File -> Devices -> transfer purchases
