Podcast stopped downloading automatic

does anybody know why tim conway jr on demand podcast has stopped downloading? this just started happening and now i can only get it if i go to itunes and download it manualy.

Thank you, Roger.
I kind of tried this, and when I clicked on the cloud, an "X" appeared and the podcast title became ghosted!
Had to wait a lengthy time for all the rest of the podcasts to load (I only connect with iTunes on my ext. hard drive about twice a week), and then go back and "refresh" these - they played all the way through and then were loaded.  This is just the latest mishap with iTunes, which periodically never loads my 3 subscriptions for weeks at a time, and I have to manually load them from the various sites offering the podcasts.  No one at the Apple Store knows what is wrong, and they all finally admit that it's an Apple error and not a site screwup!  I will muddle along and hope the next time I plug in my Est. HD to open itunes that this will not happen!
Again, thanks - and have a good day :-)

  • Podcast stopped downloading automatically

    14Feb2015
A couple of days ago, iTunes wouldn't download podcasts.
I had to unsubscribte the podcast then subscribe again.  iTunes  would only then download the most recent podcast.
iTunes used to download ALL podcasts that were not downloaded.  It would check every hour (60 minutes) for available podcasts for downloading.
Now, I have to search each podcast for episodes with the Cloud symbol.  It is a pain to do that.  there is no "Download all" option that would download every episode available.   Also, according to the "Settings" option , iTunes checks for new episodes 10 minutes past the hour, then does not download any.
I don't like the changes to iTunes.  It used to be great for downloading podcasts.  Podcasts is what I use iTunes for the most.  I wish it worked as well as it used to.,
My iTunes on my laptop does the same thing.  I hope Apple will send a update with a fix soon.

I've given up on apple's podcast app and switched to DownCast. DownCast claims to be able to do what you are asking, although it's not a feature I currently use so can't vouch for the feature personally.
The app developer is also very responsive to comments and questions.

  • Podcasts stopped downloading, says not connected to internet but laptop is.

Podcasts stopped downloading. Refresh dosent work. Tried connecting to iStore but error message says computer not connected to internet but it is.

Here are several things that you can try that might help.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    Check Settings>General>Date &Time>Set Automatically>On.
Reset your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again.

  • Podcast not downloading automatically

I have multiple podcast that I have set up to download automatically thru the podcast app, but there is one that does not update. When I go into the podcast and try to download it manually it freezes then crashes. Any help would be great.

I have a similar issue but in our case, it's not crashing. We have three podcasts running, 2 of which work just fine. But the daily podcast seems to have stopped at Feb 5, 2013 for existing subscribers only. New subscribers get all of the episodes. What we did find is if the subscriber clicks "show all available episodes," it updates and then continues to work just fine.

  • Podcast Stopped Downloading from Tiesto's Podcast

Ok....a few weeks ago it was downloading Tiesto's Clublife podcast now it has stopped downloading. I usually have it open every Friday, and so far i got no downloads from Tiesto.
How can i download these previous podcast i've missed on iTunes?
This iTunes is giving me so much problems over the last few months.

All of tiesto's podcast are available for download as of last week.
    No they're not.
All of them _are listed_ but none of them will download. Even the most recent one, episode 139, gives a message saying that the network connection was reset. I suspect that what has happened is that the full list of every episode that _has been available in the past_ has been put on the iTunes Store in error. In addition, something else has gone wrong which means that the current one cannot be downloaded.
There are many bits of information that need to be entered by the Podcast producer (Tiesto or his associates) and perhaps some of the information is incorrect, thereby causing the error. I think this has happened before with this Podcast.
The best thing to do is email Tiesto about it, because it's in his interest to get make the Podcast available again, not Apple's. Try clicking on the "contact us" button at the bottom of his English language site at http://www.tiesto.com/
The wbesite link in the iTunes Store will take you to the Dutch language pages, so use the link I provided, unless you happen too speak Dutch!

  • Make iTunes STOP download automatically

Once a bought a song, but I didn't download it (it sounds weird, but it is a long story...). Than I bought few apps (I didn't download them also).
I have the Automatically check for Downloads option turned off, but once every few days iTunes downloads all my undownloaded items to my computer (1 GB). I have to stop it.
If I download an item and delete it, if doesn't download again. Do I have to download all the items and delete them???

    go to edit>playback>uncheck crossfade playback.

  • Podcast download automatically but still get "temporarily unavailable" errors

I've set up my podcasts to download automatically. Yet, someone even when I play one which has obviously already downloaded, after a few minutes playback will halt with a "temporarily unavailable" error. Any idea what is causing this??

    Hi Senile24,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend the troubleshooting steps in this article if you continue to see the "service is temporarily unavailable" message:

  • How do I turn off the feature that stops downloading podcasts because I haven't listened for a period of time?

iTunes automatically stops downloading podcasts when I haven't listened to them for some arbitrary period of time. I want to turn this off so it always downloads.

iTunes will stop updating a podcast subscription if you have more than five episodes downloaded but not listened to, as detailed in this page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA23353
    which states:
You've subscribed to a podcast but have more than five unplayed episodes. iTunes will stop automatically downloading newer episodes. You may get the following message:
iTunes has stopped updating this podcast because you have not listened to any episodes recently. Would you like to resume updating this podcast?
You can click Yes to continue downloading additional episodes. Or you can just listen to any part of any episode and a new episode will download at the next update.
There is no setting in iTunes to change this, but there is an AppleScript available which will apparently deal with this (I've not tried it):

  • Stopped downloading Podcasts 'cos not listened for few days

Why does I-Tunes stop downloading my Podcasts when I've not listened to them for a few days? How do I turn this annoying function OFF?

It's an option the Podcast producer has chosen to help save them money on downloads that are not listened to. Although Apple provide the function, the choice to set it is down to the Podcaster, not Apple.
This is not correct: it's inherent in iTunes, see this page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA23353
    which states:

    Hi michael emerald,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you would like to download your purchased content directly to your iPad and not have to go through iTunes to sync it. You can download individual purchases directly from the iPad using the Purchased section. Please use the attached article as a reference.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
