Podcast Subscriptions are locked off?

I just got Yosemite and had some issues with my itunes. After downloading the new itunes I discovered that my subscriptions are all locked to unsubscribed and I cannot change it. I even tried to log in and out of itunes. However I can change the settings on my phone (which is what I usually listen to podcasts on) but I don't want to devour data if I don't have wifi just to download a new podcast. How do I fix this?

I had this problem too and I discovered the solution myself. No idea why it did this.
I had a bunch of mine turn off as well. In the Podcast section, I had to click on each podcast; under the podcast icon and description and above the episode list you should see a yellow bar that says something like 'Episdeoes of this podcast were deleted from some devices but have saved episodes'
There should be a 'Resolve' button to the right of the text. Then a pop-up will ask you if you to resync the podcast episodes or delete them. Choose the resent option. The yellow bar will change to a gray bar and say 'Updating episodes' Now you just need to wait and watch as it sync everything up and starts downloading episodes.

  • My Podcast Subscriptions Are Dying

I subscribed to several Podcasts in the Fall of 2006. All went well, until this January. I have not received a new "episode" of one podcast since 12/25/06. And now, another podcast has ceased delivering new episodes. My most recent installment there is dated 01/11/07. What is causing my subscriptions to flake out on me?

I have the same problem. Plus, sometimes more episodes will download, but won't transfer to my iPod. I CAN SEE THEM RIGHT THERE ON MY COMPUTER, AND IT'S SO FRUSTRATING! I've tried moving the files manually as well, but I just get the "won't go there" symbol (the red circle with a slash in it).
I've tried checking and unchecking boxes, marking them unplayed, restarting/restoring/refreshing, rebooting and everything else the iPod.
Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

  • Podcast subscriptions - where are my episodes?

i can't figure out where my podcast subscriptions are going. i have subscribed to one free podcast only.
in itunes, on the left side, i see where it reads Podcasts and next to the word podcasts, it says 102. when i click on Podcasts, only one podcast, the most recent, appears. where are the rest of these podcasts?

For the record, have you expanded the Podcast subscription by clicking on the triangle next to the Podcast name?

  • Are podcast subscriptions connected to the computer or the account?

Until recently, my wife and I have been sharing a computer and an iTunes account with two separate iPhones. A couple of weeks ago I bought a MacBook. We both have different podcasts we listen to on a regular basis. Her podcasts are being downloaded to my MacBook and vice versa. If I unsubscribe and delete her podcasts from my MacBook, will they still update on the her computer? I really don't want stuff I don't listen to cluttering up my iTunes, but I don't want to stop her from getting her updates either.
    Thanks.

As far as I know Podcast subscriptions are connected to the library. I assume you copied the entire library to the new MacBook. You should be able to unsubscribe from any podcasts you no longer want without affecting the other library, even it you both use the one account for purchases.

  • Why are my podcast subscriptions not automatically downloading?

Some of my podcast subscriptions are not automatically downloading. New subscriptions are, but subscriptions that previously downloaded automatically no longer do so. When I re-subscribe, it does not solve the problem.

    Hello>
I made changes to my rss file on my webserver two weeks ago and I do not see the updates on the iTunes site.
How long on average does it take for the ITunes site to see my new changes?

  • Keeping podcast subscriptions.

so the company i work for is finally opting to get new machines, we've been designing on old G4s with 10.3. anyways, we're getting iMacs and i was wondering is there anyway i can export my list of podcast subscriptions from the old G4 to the new iMac without exporting any playlists i've connected to my music library.
i jus wanna move my subscriptions only, my podcast subscription are vast and many and i do not want to take the time to track them all down again in itunes.
    anything helps. thanks.

It may be because you are using the same Apple ID in the two iTunes libraries, to sign in to the iTunes Store.
Open iTunes Preferences Store tab.  There is a setting (checkbox) that says Sync podcast subscriptions and settings.  If that setting is enabled, see if unchecking it makes a difference regarding this problem.

  • List of Podcast Subscriptions Missing

Okay, I did a silly thing and tried moving folders around and now my Podcast subscriptions are gone from iTunes. I tried moving the Podcasts folder back to where I think it was....but it hasn't worked. Any suggestions on how to restore this without having to subscribe to them all over again? Thanks for your help!

Oh, I just noticed that even though they appear in iTunes again, it seems I do have to re-subscribe. Ah, well. Easier than having to search for each podcast all over again.

  • You are signed in with a different Apple ID than previously used with Podcasts. Do you want to sync these podcast subscriptions and stations with "******"?

Why am I getting this error message every time I open iTunes? I'm giving the option of Sync or don't Sync and click sync and there are no problems. But why does it open with: You are signed in with a different Apple ID than previously used with Podcasts. Do you want to sync these podcast subscriptions and stations with “*****”?

  • Last seconds of uploaded podcast are cut off! What could be the problem here?

    Hello!
we uploaded some podcasts in our itunes store account. We produced them by ourselves and they are also online on our website (futurzwei.org). The source is the same Content Management System (Joomla). At the website, the podcasts are complete. In the itunes store, the same podcasts are incomplete. The last seconds are cut off!
How can this be, when the original is complete?
I don't know where the problem could be.
Can it be a problem of the transfering mode?
Is it a problem of the Content Management System we use? Or any special setting we could have set wrongly in there?
Of the format the podcasts have (normal mp3)?
Thank you very much for any help!

  • Locked podcast subscription

A podcast that I subscribed to is no longer publishing content. So I un-subscribed thinking it would remove the podcast from the left hand list that is displayed under My Podcasts.
However it is still displayed and I can't get rid of it. I have tried to delete it, but nothing happens. When I look in the podcast location in the Finder, the folder has been removed so I'm not sure why it is still being displayed. When I select the podcast from the list and then click on the cog icon I can see that I am unsubscribed but I can no longer re-subscribe as it is locked.
Does anyone know how to unlock it, or just get rid of it from the list. This is really frustrating.
    I should say I'm using iTunes 12.0.1.26 running OS X 10.10

    Hello mrm2015,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you have subscribed to a podcast in the past and now that it is no longer being produced, you would like to delete it. Please review the attached article for information on managing Podcasts subscriptions.

  • ITunes stops refreshing podcast subscriptions. How do I turn this "feature" off?

I subscribe to a bunch of podcasts through iTunes. If I don't listen to a podcast from one of my subscriptions in a while, iTunes automatically decides to stop updating the subscription (and I have to manually tell it to resume downloading new podcasts). I want to turn this "feature" off. I'd like it to automatically update all of my podcast subscriptions whether I've listened to a podcast from that subscription recently or not.

This is ridiculous to not be able to bypass.  Over the past two years, I have probably had to manually re-subscribe to 500+ podcasts. A total waste of time.

  • IPad won't turn off so I can reset it because my emails are locked.  I receive emails but can't access them, can't delete, can't send.

My iPad won't turn off so I can reset it.  My emails are locked but I receive emails as the number of emails increases.  I can't access these emails, I can't delete the one email showing, and I can't send an email.  The screen is locked.

    Try a reset:
    1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together)
    2. For about 10 seconds
    3. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)
    4. Ignore the red slider

  • Running iTunes 10.5.3.3 - On my device there are podcast headers with no podcasts in them and I cannot seem to delete them. How can I get rid of these empty podcast subscriptions?

I have a Classic iPod with current software and I am running iTunes 10.5.3.3. On my device there are Podcast subscriptions but all of the podcasts have been deleted from them. Is there a way to get rid of the header (i.e. the Podcast subscription title)?

This has happened to a number of users lately.  Usually the only way to remove them to restore the iPod to factory settings.

  • Protecting Podcast Subscriptions from Accidental Deletion

    When I:
    1) select (intentionally or unintentionally) a podcast that does not have any audio files in it, then
    2) click "delete",
iTunes will delete the Podcast Subscription without asking for confirmation. This is incredibly frustrating to me. Is there a way (iTunes setting, plugin, or otherwise) to "protect" my podcasts from accidental deletion? All I really want is for iTunes to ask me "are you certain you want to unsubscribe from this Podcast?"
    Thank you,
    Dimitri

    Hi Marcin,
It does facilitate OU protection, but by default in 2008 R2 when you create an OU it is set to be protected. Ensuring people untick the box and then manually protect that OU (by assigning rights directly to it rather than ticking the box) every time an OU
is created for something as futile as preventing an OU from being deleted is almost a complete waste of time and the effort vs utility almost dictates that we'd be better off not having the prevent accidental deletions there at all. After all, we've survived
Windows 2000 and 2003 without this functionality...
As for the scenario, I'll give you a very simple example:
You have Workstations under Workstations>Department Name>Desktops. You obviously have several GPOs linked at either one of those 3 places. All of a sudden, as part of testing a new deployment, you are required to add another GPO to the existing ones.
As part of the testing phase, you create a Dev OU under Desktops and link the new GPO to the new Dev OU. At the same time that you do this, do you really go and create a new OU under Desktops to hold all the already existing objects under desktops and therefore
prevent having any leaf-level objects and an child OU under the same parent OU? You could claim that a better way of doing it would be to create a Test OU at the top level of Workstations, but then you'd have to work out the effective permissions and GPOs
at the other OU level and replicate it on the newly created one...
