Podcast through weebly rss feed

I have a weebly website. Does anyone how I would podcast through that site? I'm having some trouble. I think the majority of my trouble is that I'm an utter newb at the whole podcasting thing, but none the less, stupid Weebly smh. Thanks.

I'm afraid I can'd advise specifically on Weebly, but it may help you to read my get-you-started page on podcasting so that you're clear on the basic principles:

  • Podcast any website, RSS feed or PDF document

Want to make your iPod experience even better? Would you like to listen to websites and RSS feeds you normally read?
Give http://podcastly.com a try. They have tools that allow you create podcasts from websites, RSS feeds, PDF documents or your own text.
If anyone has seen anything like this site let me know what it is, I'd like to compare them.
    Thanks!

    > subscribe to RSS feed from an external website to have the data available in a list or library
As a link or as a list of data from the feed?
    If as a link:
An RSS feed is just an XML delivered via a URL. Add the Link to a Document content type to your library and then just link to the RSS feed using its URL.
    See here:
    http://techtrainingnotes.blogspot.com/2007/08/sharepoint-adding-hyperlinks-to-doc.html
If as a displayed list of data:
Just use the RSS web part, a third party web part or a SharePoint Designer Data View Web Part to connect to the data and display it as a list of items.

  • Apple seems unable to reinstate my podcast after my rss feed is active again

I had a podcast on iTunes for several years called Punk Rock Pariah with Grendel. It was located here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/punk-rock-pariah-with-grendel/id448777825
At some point my website was not renewed. This caused my rss feed to go down, and itunes removed my podcast from the iTunes store. Now that I have my website again, I have the exact same rss feed as before, and I cannot figure out how to get my podcast reinstated. I have spent over an hour on the phone with Apple, and the person who responded to my support ticket I submitted clearly did not read my complaint because the response ignored some key facts. My RSS feed is: http://punkrockpariah.com/rss
They have given me two solutions, neither of which work:
    1) Delete the rss feed from iTunes myself.
Because it is not showing up in the store, I cannot manage the podcast there, and thus cannot delete it and resubmit it.
    2) Resubmit the podcast RSS.
I cannot do this because when I try, it says it is a duplicate RSS. I even tried altering it through a service like feedburner, which uses the original rss to produce a new one, but iTunes still recognizes it as the original.
So, I don't really know what to do. They have no workable solution and no answer on how to make a workable solution.
    Thoughts?

You can try contacting iTunes Podcasting - per the email address - podcasts AT apple (dot) com
Tell them you want to get your show reactivated and that your feed is
    http://punkrockpariah.com/rss
And this goes for the iTunes store page:
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/punk-rock-pariah-with-grendel/id448777825
If they can not get you back up then you would need to slightly change your show title and the RSS feed URL - and then resubmit to iTunes the new feed.
But first I would suggest you try emailing apple and asking them to get you back and active again.

  • Video podcast with multiple RSS feeds

We have a new video podcast at LetsKnit2gether.com and we have three RSS feeds for our show, each with a different video file format. We’re using WordPress with PodPress to create the RSS and then we manually cut and paste the others. We have two problems:
One – We can’t seem to get the multiple feeds to show up correctly in iTunes (the desktop software, not the music store – we haven’t submitted to the iTunes store yet.) I can paste one RSS URL in the Advanced/Subscribe to Podcast window and subscribe to the feed but I can’t subscribe to any of the other two. When I try they appear for a second and then disappear. Tried in both iTunes 6 and 7 on PC and Mac. I’m guessing there is something in the iTunes software that prevents similar feeds. I read as much on the Apple iTunes tutorial page but our feeds are following the rules as far as I can tell. (www.feedvalidator.org says all is well too.) Once you subscribe to one you can’t change your mind and subscribe to one of the others ever again, ever! ...even if you delete the one you subscribed to first.
There are several video podcasts that I’ve subscribed to via iTunes software that have multiple feeds (GeekBrief, Rocketboom, 88slide, etc.) so I know this can be done, I just have to figure out what’s causing iTunes to choke.
Anybody have any clue what’s going on?
Two – We’re doing cut and paste on the WordPress generated feed to make the multiple xml files. This is going to become a bigger and bigger task as time goes on and we generate more shows. I’d like to just push a button and generate all three feeds from the blog. Is there a plug-in for Wordpress or stand alone software that will do this? I don’t mind paying for software if it saves us time.
    Thanks!

  • Podcast from an rss feed  does not play entire episode

I recently subscribed to a podcast on ITunes via an RSS feed. Everything downloads fine and plays on my pc. However when  I try to listen on my I pod nano, it will only play 7 to 10 minutes of each 2 hour episode. Please help!

The RSS feed goes to your Mail right? Are you trying to redirect them to another email account? You could use a Mail Rule for that.

  • Podcasting with iWeb- RSS FEED TITLE?!?!!?!?

Alright, I put my podcast together using Audacity for the most part but used the new Garage Band to fix it up and add an introduction. Then I exported it in to iWeb from Garage Band to publish it to the web. You can see it for yourself at podcast.notsam.com. Now, for some reason when one hits subscribe to podcast from the site it appears with the RSS feed URL as the title. For this same reason iTunes won't accept it as the "Feed doesn't have a title." Am I missing something here. Obviously I created a title for it, and it does have one before I upload. Any help? Thanks

iWeb appears to name the RSS feed from the title text that appears on the picture frame at the top of your initial weblog page. This defaults to "My Blog" - hence your RSS feed gets this name.
I've managed to fix it in mine - http://web.mac.com/karen.hughes/iWeb/Curlypaws/Curlypaws%20Blog/Curlypaws%20Blog .html - note how the title on the picture (not the page title) is "Curlypaws Blog" and if you subscribe to the RSS feed, that is what it will be called. Not very intuitive - it puzzled me until I read the earlier post in here from jayeaster and then played around with my own site.

  • How to submit a podcast with an RSS feed to iTunes

According to this page -- http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#submitting -- "In the left column of the Podcasts page, in the Learn More box at the bottom, click on the Submit a Podcast link." I'm not able to find the Learn More box. How do I submit a podcast to iTunes?

You have to create one with a hosting provider, or create one yourself: see this apple article: http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html#_Toc526931673
You can also use an app like Feeder (http:/reinventedsoftware.com/feeder/) for Mac.

  • My podcast isn't updating in iTunes despite the fact that my RSS feed is updating just fine. Help?

I posted an episode about a week and a bit ago. It was viewable on the RSS feed but not on iTunes. After a week went by I tried reposting it plus the next day I posted another new episode as a test. Neither appeared in the podcast.
My RSS feed seems fine. Does anyone know what's going on?

    Hi Jacolli,
I have recommended Libsyn.com for the past 7 Plus years.  I have worked for them for the past 5 years - so I am a little biased.  But again I was recommending them before I worked for them.
Libsyn is the largest podcast host.  90% of the top audio comedy podcast host with libsyn.  And any given week 30 to 50% of the top audio podcast in iTunes top 200 list are podcasts using libsyn.
If you are using Feedburner - switching is simple.  We can import in your files from your source feed - and then you can just repoint feedburner to the new libsyn feed.  Then going forward all you have to do is upload a file - enter a title and description and hit publish - it is that easy.

  • IWeb RSS FEED UPDATE

Could anyone - actually preferably Apple - please solve the RSS Feed Widget error I'm having in iWeb?
The site is on [www.xantopia.net], now [V011].
As you can see, I've made a blog with iWeb. On other pages from that site, I'm referring to the blog through a RSS Feed Widget [also from iWeb]. I'm correctly referring to the web address as you can see. e.g. "feed://www.xantopia.net/V011/Blog/rss.xml".
I'm randomly duplicating entries in that feed, but the feed is not updating at all. Well, it sometimes does..and sometimes don't!
I've tried everything. I can only guess he's keeping some cache from old RSS feeds and as such redisplay what once was...
The very basic functionality I'd like to have is to [RESET] the feed, so whatever I'm doing with my entries, the feed gets updated to what really is in there.
Thanks so much for helping me out.
    Y

The method for transferring iTunes to another feed is described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
However as this involves adding a tag to the feed you cannot do it in iWeb itself. You could do it this way:
Download your feed and open it in TextEdit in PLAIN TEXT MODE, not Rich Text which is often the default.
Add the tag as described in my page.
Re-upload the feed using an FTP program. Do not subsequently make any amendments in iWeb for two weeks.
Alternatively email Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and ask them to move it (give them the URL of your Store page and both feed URLs) - there's no guarantee they will but they have done for some people.

  • Why won't my RSS feeds update since July 10, 2012?

I subscribe to several blogs through my RSS feed.  I just went into my feed in Mac Mail and notice that none of them have updated since July 10, 2012.  What would cause all of my feeds to stop updating after that date?  I just performed a software update hoping that would fix the problem, but it still won't update.  Can anyone suggest some steps to resolve this?

    Nevermind.
I found a thread with a solution from Cnet and it worked perfectly. Back up and running.

  • RSS Feed and  Podcast Categories Issue

    Hey everyone,
I'm having a lot of problems publishing my podcasts with iweb. I create them on Garageband and then send to iWeb where they're part of a larger site. Anyway, they were working at one stage, but now seem not to be at all.
I ran the RSS feed through fee validator and it's telling me the categories chosen are not longer valid itunes categories. I want them in video games, but there's no choice for this when I'm going through iWeb.
The issue is that I don't know how to get to the RSS feed to edit it. I only see the iWeb format, but I want the actual source code etc to go in and change that around if possible. Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks in advance
    Tracy

    Hi,
Thanks for the help, that is much appreciated. Sadly I'm still having the same issue. The two old dead feeds are still on iTunes after weeks of me asking for them to be removed and also after me putting the block tag into the rss feed. My new one still hasn't shown up even though it was updated on Saturday... it's really a nightmare.
    Can someone please please help.
    Thanks
    xx

  • I Tunes U - Possible to edit RSS feed produced by podcast producer?

    Hi people. Two questions
I have a self hosted i tunes u on mac server. Is it possible to edit rss feeds once they have been published by podcast producer? eg remove particular tracks from a particular feed or rename as track for instance?
Also when i tunes u is actually accessed through the interface no track time information is visible for any of of the podcasts? is this a common problem? and does anyone know how to solve it?
    Thanks
    Nick

Your 'tunes:summary' in the top section of the feed has several instances of the string
    <br/>
You should remove these. You cannot have < or > within a tag and the code won't do either.
The URL in the 'itunes:image' tag includes an aompersand ('&') and this can cause trouble. You should change it to the wrod 'and' in the filename and in the feed (or call it something simpler, no-one sees the filename).
Your 'itunes:summary' and 'itunes:subtitle' tags for the episode have various codes in them - all starting &# something - iTunes will display these codes, not render them, and you should not use them. These tags should contain plain text, no html. This won't render the feed unreadable the way the other errors do, but it looks messy.

  • Podcasts via RSS Feeds

There are several podcasts that I would like to listen to on my iPod that are not available through iTunes. Many of these podcasts offer content via RSS Feeds. Is there a way to automate how/where these RSS feeds are downloaded so as to be automatically included in the iTunes library?
Here is an example of an RSS feed I would like to download into iTunes: http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/wiaa/.jukebox?action=viewPodcast&podcastId=185 7
Any direction would be greatly appreciated....

    Cocomj,
Yes, since you have the link for the podcast, open up iTunes.
Go to the Advanced Menu, and then to Subscribe to Podcast, and copy that link into the box.
Then the Podcast will be added to your iTunes section.
I checked with the link you provided and it worked for me for IPR News Features.

  • RSS Feed to iTunes podcast

My client uses iTunes to post their latest podcasts. Is it
possible to have a RSS feed on their website that shows their
    latest podcasts?

I should note, the web address is amazeable.com
The podcast was created using garageband and sent to iweb through the "share" option.

  • Using RSS Feeds and Podcasts

I've spent some time trying to figure all of this out but for some reason I can't quite grip how it all works, and how to do it. If anyone knows of any links that would help me how to create a podcast and use the RSS Feeds in iWeb, that would be great. Or if anyone knows an easy way to explain it.

    Hi Josh,
I'm having similar problems as you -- I created a website on iWeb, and made a podcast in mp3 format that I put on the site. I wanted to submit the RSS feed to iTunes, so the podcast would be available through the iTunes store. But neither iTunes nor Feedburner recognizes the URL for the RSS feed. I'm wondering if I got the URL wrong, or if iWeb's automatically-generated "Subscribe" button doesn't work, or what. Any tips? Whatever happened with your podcast? I've spent hours and hours online trying to figure this out. Thanks!
