PODCAST TV SERIES

Can someone tell me what is the real deal with these podcast? They say it is audio and also video, but looking into getting my past tv series shows or current show to display their episodes, seem to be a crazy thing. I just get people talking about the show, with the capacity to find any episode to watch! Is that the function of these podcast?? to get people to talk on radio about the shows they watched?? Why not migrate to ham radio then?? talk all you want and let the ones that would like to find an episode of a tv show, click and watch it on your tv?
Maybe I am too ignorant on this thing, but so far I have not been able to watch any of the shows I regularly tuned in. I find the podacast library with all sort of material, but when I click, thinking I found the episode of that particular tv series I want to watch, I only get people talking crap about the show I want to watch. Can someone explain to me in child terms, where do I find episodes podacast to watch and disregard the fan directory of radio crap? thanks!!

Selling podcasts/audiobooks is it possible?

I know that podcasting is very new, and even audiobooks quite new. Audiobooks are selling (even on the iTunes site) for good money, whilst podcasts are all free.
Fair enough if the content is quite different. However, if you put together a podcast, or series of podcasts that teach something useful - how to play the trumpet or write a good dashboard widget, say - wouldn't it be nice to be able to sell the course?
My idea would be to have an introduction that is free and covers the topic briefly to give an idea of your style, pace and method. This might be enough for many. If they like it, however, they could then pay to subscribe to the rest of the podcasts/chapters/installments.
At the moment, it would be necessary to write an audiobook to do this. However, most audiobooks are made from existing published books. I'd like to produce a new book, entirely in audio to teach a subject (that I teach already) and put it out there for people to buy.
Is this possible?
What is the best way of doing this?
Is it possible to use iTunes Podcasting for this?
How, if you can't use podcasting, can you get a new audiobook (that isn't based on a print book) into the iTunes audiobook shop?

Check out iAmplify.com You can publish your own audio book there. I haven't done it myself yet, but I am exploring options. Other possibilities for self-publishing are Lulu.com and CafePress.com
I believe that each of these allows you to set your own price depending on how much profit you wish to make. There is no up-front cost to you - the publication costs are built into to the purchase price.
At iAmplify, you can publish an mp3 audio version of your book - it is similar to Audible.com.
On Lulu, you can publish a hardcopy of your book, an electronic download, a DVD, an audio CD, or an mp3 download.
On CafePress you can publish a hardcopy of your book, an audio CD, or a DVD. I don't think they do mp3, but if you want logo wear to go with your book this is the place.
Artists can submit their music albums to iTunes for sale. I don't know if iTunes accepts audiobooks. You might be able to find out here:

Problem playing with Multicam editing using samples from Tom's FCP 5 book?

I have some media from the DVD accompanying the book Final Cut Pro 5 Editing Workshop.
There are 4 camera angles of a music trio but unfortunately there is only audio on Camera 1.
This means that though I can switch video angles, the audio for about 75% of the final clip is missing.
Is there any way to ensure that the audio is added to all the clips and angles?

in the iTunes Store.
The latest three are very in depth concerning the new Multicam in 10.0.3 and address your audio concern and much, much more.

After "upgrading" from trial to FCPX 10.0.3 multi cam does not work

After "upgrading" from trial to FCPX 10.0.3, multi cam does not work anymore. Everything was fine in the trial version, but now the multicam clip I made in trail is shown, but not with the 4 windows, only the first angle can be seen. And I can not find (import) the cuts I made in the trail. The settings are the same in both versions. Am I missing something? Is it possible that I have to start from scratch and all work is lost?
When I double click the multi cam clip I see all four angles in the timeline, one underneath the other...

ITunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network conn. was reset.

I began receiving this message about 30 hours ago. I can still "Refresh" and get new podcasts for series I've subscribed for.
I've:
1) Re-installed iTunes
2) Made certain iTunes is included in the firewall exemption
What next? Any advise?

Tv series marked as podcast

Hi
I just lost an entire Tv-series because I accidentally clicked Podcast instead of TV series in the section "Media type"
Now, it's not in the TV, not in the Film and not in the Podcast section of my library. I can't add it again, because It is already in there.
I tried as a test giving "Podcast" as Media type for other films, and they vanished as well.
When I export my library as .xml, and search for the series, it is able to find it, but it shows:

I made a similar mistake and am having the exact same problem. While reorganizing my videos I mistakenly selected "Podcast" for a short video and it became completely lost in "iTunes Limbo". The video is not found when using the iTunes search, nor is it visible when I select any category from the Library menu on the left (I'm still using iTunes ver. 10.7 with OS X 10.6.8). Even radically changing the file's name in the Finder and then attempting to re-add to iTunes via File > Add To Library... or just selecting and dragging over made no difference at all. Very frustrating, to say the least!
The only way I could re-add this video into my library was to:
1) Quit iTunes and make a back-up of the XML file
2) Edit the XML using TextEdit to search for and delete the info regarding my video, which in this case was:

3) Open the video in QuickTIme Player and resave if from .m4v to .mov
Only after I did this could I re-add this video into my iTunes library, then download it to my iPad (it plays fine).
Obviously this is not the ideal solution; It doesn't resolve why iTunes won't find the "lost" video since it does appear in the XML file, plus converting multiple or many videos to another file format may not an ideal solution for most people. This was just a "band aid" approach that worked for me in this instance.
If anyone has any additional information regarding this problem please share it!

How do you export a podcast series?

Is there a way to burn to CD or export a Podcast series? In other words, I have a podcast I subscribe to with several sessions. How can I burn the entire series to a CD, or export it? I want to transfer a podcast series to my desktop to put on my iPod or archive.
If I transfer the individual files, there is no way I can find to get iTunes to recognize the podcast. it'll play them, but it won't put them in the appropriate podcast playlist. It also won't copy the playlist information.
For example, my Ebert & Roeper has the movie reviews for the month of September. Each Review has the week name in the Podcast, and a complete description. How do I transfer this intact to another computer?

Hi aandd, you buy the series and seasons from iTunes and itunes stores the fact you have purchased them in your account. You can then stream them through apple tv whenever and how often you want.

All music and other things on itouch GONE except for one series of podcasts

I need help!
My computer is low on memory, but I didn't think that would mess up me connecting my iPod touch to my computer. After connecting it, I did not look at my library, but later when I went to listen to something ALL my music, playlists, proof of purchases, were gone, except for one series of podcasts. I decided to connect my iPod to the computer again to see if I could igure out what was going on, and I got a thing that said I was using the iPod on a different account! confused it asked me if I wanted to get my purchased music switched over, so my sister suggested doing that, and so they are back on Itunes, but my computer is having problems because of low memory, so I haven't been able to get it to sync. (I have not tried a lot yet)
can anyone help me? All my apps are there. It's just the music.

When it asked if I wanted to transfer or erase or sync, I chose to transfer purchases, and ALL my music, including not purchased (CD's I had put on there) came back. ALL my music is back! Problem solved!

How to upload podcast series artwork?

I'm building my website with iWeb, hosting on my .mac account. I have a podcast on that site, which was approved by the iTunes store today. With that setup, how do I submit series artwork to the iTunes store? Thanks very much in advance!!

Basically, the person responding ("Certified" is the screen name) has made a tool that apparently posts your cover art to the iTunes store. I'm about to try it and see if it works. If so, then I'll post the news here.

No image or description for podcast series on iTS. HELP!

Used iweb but I did not put image or description into appropriate place holder on first try. So now even though I have redone podcast page using correct input in text & image lead placeholders & feed shows image.... There is no series image or description showing in iTS. Chapters are OK. HELP!

You need to create a folder at root level of your server called 'BhagavadGita_DiscoursesPodcast' (if this folder doesn't already exist)and move the feed to there, amending the website link.

Podcast video is a series of still photos

When I view a video podcast the video is a fast changing series of still photos. The audio is fine. I recently reset my laptop to the factory settings and have "un" then "re" installed Itunes to solve the problem. No luck. I have the most recent version of Itunes. Anyone??

Unsubscribed podcast series stays on iphone 4s

I have unsubscribed from a podcast, and while the podcasts files themselves are not on my iphone, the series still shows up. It does not show in itunes anymore, it just continues to show on the iphone in the podcasts app but with zero episodes. Anyone have an idea how to clear that up? Has behaved this way through the last few ios upgrades and the last couple podcast app updates as well.

Same for me and worse, I have a subscription to a podcast requiring authentication that I have decided not to renew and it haunts me for my user name and password. I have no idea how do I get rid of this. The screen in Itunes does not show the unsubscribed podcasts, but under the iPod window, they are all there with no episodes.
This feels definitely like a bug.

However i would also like a separate feed to this page http://tec-online.com/resources/sermons/revelation/ (the audio on this page is not yet set up) and would like to add another podcast feed to link to this series.
So my question is this: is it possbile to set up multiple feeds from a single website and if so which plugin would you recommend to do this? The website is with wordpress.

I created some podcasts.. 3 main titles... one for my work, blog and home videos. I would like to create series within those categories.. Can I do that?

yes.. 2 different ways depending on how you want them seen on iTunes. If you don't really want them all appearing together on iTunes, create a new site and a podcast page for each of them and submit them separately. You accomplish this by creating a new user account in system preferences/accounts. Then sign in with the new user account, creat the new site with iWeb, and submit it to iTunes.
If you want them all on the same page in iTunes, then give them similar names, like echWork, echBlog, echHome... you get the idea. Put them all on the same page and submit to iTunes.
