Podcast uploads to itunes

I created a podcast in garageband then moved it to iweb and then to itunes. itunes does not show the podcast artwork or the podcast description. Not sure how to fix this. Any help is appreciated. The podcast is Swim Upstream to Wealth

In iTunes, you will see your podcast in the left sidebar. Above the pages for each episode is a main page for the podast, which when you open is shows a top section and below it the most recent episodes.
There are placeholders for a photo and descriptive text in the top section: drag a photo in (it should be 600x600) and write some text, then publish. Expect it to take 1-2 days before changes appear in the Store.

  • Why won't my podcast upload to iTunes?

I've tried uploading my podcast to iTunes and it will not work, I keep getting the message "We had difficulties downloading episodes from your feed." Tried editing my feed to take things down and literally only have my podcast available, don't know what else to do here. My RSS is http://feeds.feedburner.com/ontapwithfitzandmike

this is what i'm getting from troubleshooting on feedburner....again, don't know how to fix this
    Content Type reported: text/html; charset=UTF-8
Media enclosure not created because: The  content type returned from your host server was a text type, not a  binary media type. Podcast content should always return a binary media  type, such as audio/mpeg for audio, or video/mpeg for video.

  • I can't get my podcasts to be uploaded into itunes.

I keep trying different iterations but I can't get my feedburner feed to show up in itunes
    My podcasts are located here:
    http://www.storystorynight.org
and the feedburner url I am tryign to put into itunes is
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/storystorynight/CnUF
I originally tried to build the feedburner link to point to a separate page in the main blog at storystorynight.org but feedburner kept pointing at the primary blog page. So I put all the podcasts onto the main blog page, built a new feedburner feed (the one listed above) but still itunes can't locate the podcasts.
What am I doing wrong? This seems awfully challenging for something that presumably isn't that difficult...

I changed the Podcast Feed URL that I was trying to upload to itunes so that it points to the feedburner page (rather than pasting in the feed address from feedburner).
I am trying this one instead: http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/livefeed?id=r47ek5nq0dgmdto751rokett74
This shows the page w/ the podcast titles and if I click on the "Podcast" link on the feedburner page, it shows all of the audio feeds.
The error I get from itunes when trying to add this page is:
"Error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Error on line 847: The element type "link" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</link>".
I'm not sure that is better - it at least recognizes the link as existing...
My understanding of all this is: the feedburner page should point to whatever blog site I have with all my podcasts, that way I can add new podcasts to my own page every month and the feedburner link will bring the new podcasts to the attention of itunes search...? Is this wrong?
Do I need to create a separate feedburner link for each feed individually?

is there an EASY way to submit podcasts to the itunes store? i've tried creating podcasts in garageband, then somewhere after wordpress  itunes  doesn't recognize the feed.
my process has been (i am open to suggestions for other free and EASY services/methods):
garageband : create & edit audio. add 1400x1400 image.
    share to itunes.
    drag file to desktop.
upload .m4a file to google drive.
create a link post in wordpress using "podcast" tag & create "podcast" category.
click on "entries rss" in wordpress, which takes me to the rss subscribe page (which is basically just my wordpress address with "/feed" at the end.
    i copy this url.
go to itunes store > then "submit a podcast"
itunes gives me the error message "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed."
when i try to subscribe to my podcast in itunes, it does, but gives me no episodes available.
i went back into wordpress and changed settings/ reading settings to : "full text" from "summary"
    still the same error message.
i added a feedburner step after wordpress but got the same errors. i don't think i should have to add feedburner.
wordpress seems to be encapsulating the rss, what am i doing wrong?
this so much easier when you could go directly from garage band to iweb to mobileme; i miss those apple days (also idisk).

if anyone has a super EASY process, i would LOVE to know what it is. EASY, meaning no html and also free. there are many free online storage systems available, many of which i currently use. the above process was just me trying to figure it out, if you have an easier method, please share. thank you so much!

  • First podcast uploaded with the wrong title? It is using the title of one of the podcasts and not showing the name only of the speaker?

I uploaded 7 podcasts using Podomatic. iTunes is using the titles of one of the podcasts as the title for the page. I need to change the page title and also remove my name (not sure why my name was posted instead of the name of the podcast speaker). Do I need to delete the whole Album and start over, or can I edit the title? https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/accelerating-your-due-season/id659519611. Thanks for help. This is my first time doing this.

iTunes is simply reproducing what is in the relevant tags in the feed:
    <title>Attracting the Glory - Dr. Russell Plilar</title>
    <itunes:author>Maureen Brichetto</itunes:author>
You need to change them in Podomatic wherever you originally entered the data and republish the feed. The Store should pick up the changes after a couple of days or so, though it's possible it might not do so until you post a new episode.

  • Trouble uploading my iTunes library to external hard drive.

I have a iMac OS X Version 10.6.8 and am trying to upload my iTunes library to an Seagate GoFlex Home 2TB external hard drive. I can only upload one song at a time. Very frustrating. When I try to "drag and drop" multiple songs/albums, it tells me I need Java plugin version 1.5 or higher. But I've got that and it still won't let me "drag and drop." Advice?

Presumably you have formatted the Seagate as HFS Extended (Journaled)?
Our iTunes guru Terence Devlin advises the following:
    1. Quit iTunes
    2. Drag the iTunes folder from your internal hd - located in ~/Music folder - to your external hd. DO NOT delete the original one from your internal hd... yet!
    3. When the transfer is complete, press and hold the Option(alt) key and fire up iTunes.
    4. A "Choose iTunes Library" window will come up. Click on the "Choose Library" button.
    5. Navigate to where the iTunes folder is located in the external hd.
    6. Within the iTunes folder, select the iTunes Library file and click Choose...
That's it. iTunes will now display all your playlists, songs, movies, podcasts etc. At this point, should you wish, you can delete the iTunes folder from the internal hd to free up space.

  • PodCast display in iTunes

I have created and been approved on iTunes. I can see it if I search by name, BUT I cannot see it in the general display when I select the Education/Training category, where my podcast is categorized. Its been several days now. What am I missing as I am new to podcast producing and uploading to iTunes.
    Thanks
    TDK

    So my $64 question is this;
For the many podcasts that are below the 1st 100, how will anyone ever find them in iTunes?
All the ones I listen to and found, were because I "saw" them on iTunes. But if mine and many others are below the #100 popularity mark, they will never be seen. ( First goal of a podcaster is to work your way up to that 100 lot ---- atleast I think its the first 100 of each category that is shown.....)
I also noticed that the 2 I watch, change their positions. So iTunes does change their position based on something, like hits, etc I don't know. Not sure if they even reveal their metrics and how often.....every several hours or each day.....probably competitive info they do NOT need (or want) to reveal.
Anyone else has thoughts on this ??

  • IPod reboots on downloaded podcast downloaded through iTunes

    Hi,
I d/l a BuzzOutLoud podcast, actually 2 of them, and my iPod reboots as soon I select these to play.
This since I uploaded to iTunes 7,.. Does any have a suggestion about this issue?

I'm so glad to read that I'm not the only one with this problem. Sorry but misery really does love company folks.
Anyway I tried altering the start delay on my troublesome podcasts ("As it happens," and "Democracy Now") with no effect. I was pretty concerned I had bad sectors on the drive but relieved that doesn't appear to be the case: because I got the same behavior after blanking the Ipod and reloading the podcasts. So where's the petition to get Apple to push a hot fix?

  • Why can't I see my podcast art in iTunes Library?

I have a podcast in the iTunes store with artwork that - once I've subscribed to - doesn't show up in my library. (The artwork.) It shows as a generic podcast icon. Any ideas?

Makes sense. Hadn't thought to add artwork to the actual individual files before uploading. For my own present sanity, I just added our logo art manually to each downloaded episode (3 as of today) so at least I have it looking right in my own iTunes library. But in the future, I'll do the imbedding thing so it will work for everyone else. I thought since iTunes has a lag time on searchability and artwork with the original first podcast submission, this was just another thing waiting to resolve on it's own, but now I know it's another tiny step in the pre-upload process. Will definitely remember to add the art moving forward. Thanks!

  • Update information for podcast published in iTunes

I've been successful in getting the podcast published in iTunes however some of the information which are iTunes specific tage are empty. I would like to update that information without having to upload the mp3 file, which it will NOT do anyway since it already exist. How can the published information be updated?

    Hi Jean-Paul,
Although I haven't actual experience yet in publishing to iTunes, I would guess that to update your podcast series artwork there, it is simply a question of dragging a new image to the top-most placeholder in your iWeb podcast page. As the message says when you mouse-over that placeholder: "Drag a new image here to replace it." ...Then re-publish your site to .Mac.
The next step is extracted from someone else's post:
...Then you are supposed to ping iTunes and check back in an hour.
Here's the ping url if you don't have it...
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=YOURFEEDHERE
The "YOURFEEDHERE" is where you put your feed number from iTunes. It's in your acceptance email that iTunes sent you when your podcast was posted.
    <<<<<<<<<<
...But whatever image you drop into that particular iWeb theme's placeholder, it will appear distorted in iTunes because the iTunes artwork holder is square, not rectangular - as your placeholder and image is. Try using iWeb's "White" template podcast page instead of your current template. The White's top-most placeholder is square (245x245 pixels) and therefore should not distort your image in iTunes.
By the way, Jean-Paul, I listened to the first episode of your "Flyfisherjournal" podcast on iTunes and found it both interesting and enjoyable - even though I've never fished before in my life! And the "tiny part of eternity" you mentioned can be found in any situation - by simply paying attention to the shapes and colors in your peripheral vision. With that practice, instead of just looking, you are also aware of yourself looking...

  • CD's not purchased from iTunes but uploaded to iTunes do not show up in the music folder on Apple TV!  How can I fix this?

CD's purchased from iTunes but uploaded to iTunes do not show up in the music folder on my Apple TV!  How do I fix this?

You would need to make sure you're accessing the Computers icon. If you are under the Music icon, that will be accessing the cloud and only show iTunes purchases (unless you subscribe to iTunes Match)

  • ITunes wiped all but iTunes purchased music from my iPad mini and my iPod nano instead of transferring the cd uploads into iTunes. Is there any way of recovering my music.  Very disappointed!

Initially things worked fine. I was very pleased. I had my music library in itunes, on my Ipod nano, and a thumbdrive to back up most of my music.
When I tried to sync the music from itunes onto my new ipad mini last week it deleted the albums in itunes leaving me with only purchased itunes items in the account, On the new Ipad mini CD's from my collection could not be played but they were in fact listed. My new mac will not read the music files I backed up onto a thumb drive or show the uploaded CD music collection. Additionally when I logged into itunes with out any devices connected from my PC the itunes account was completely up to date with my CD's and purchase items in Itunes. As soon as I tried to sync it with my Ipad mini that virtual access to the collection was wiped out leaving only purchased items.
By trying to upload CD music from my Ipod nano into Itunes (originally uploaded into itunes from CD's and  synced to the ipod nano in the first place, taking more than a weeks time), I am prompted to reset the entire ipod nano to factory settings (it gives no other option).  I was following the instructions emailed to me from the applecare team. This was my only recourse for recovery of the lost music files, the only device left that had my album collection aside from the owned CD's. Now the ipod nano is being wiped clean and left with only the itunes purchased music ( same thing that happened with the itunes account and now the Ipad). When I disconnect the ipod nano to see if there are any albums still left on the device, it gives me an error that it was improperly disconnected.
I just wanted to add the music from itunes to my new mac and the new ipad mini. Instead I have lost all of my uploaded CD's and now have only purchased items in itunes, the new ipad mini, the new mac, and the ipod nano.  I have to  re-upload my entire music library into itunes/icloud from CD's again and hopefully be able to then sync it with my new devices.
However it may be better to buy the itunes purchased music on CD's from a store, Cut my losses while I can and never buy anything from apple or itunes again. Atleast I will not have my entire music collection wiped out for moving it between my own devices. Itunes match doesn't do **** either. I have wasted alot of hard earned cash on devices products and itunes purchases by converting to apple products and services.
    What a big mistake.
Very dissapointed with the interface. Very Very Dissapointed!

All the cd's I have bought over the years, have all been uploaded into iTunes on my Windows PC. I have tried just copying my iTunes folder across to my new iMac, but it doesn't recognise all of the music (but it does recognise some?). • TS5376 What happens to the audio, music, etc. that I've uploaded to iTunes that I didn't purchase through iTunes when unstalling iTunes?

With the iTunes runtime error, the only solution seems to be to uninstall iTunes.  If I can't open iTunes as it currently the case because of this issue, therefore I can't backup.  What happens to all the audio CDs, books, etc. that I've uploaded to iTunes that I didn't purchase through iTunes when uninstalling.  Can I be assured that these are in the Cloud also?

  • I have just purchase Apple TV and uploaded my itunes from my pc to icloud, this has been shared to my ipad and i now have a little cloud with a red arrow next to all my tunes, so all would seem well, but on the apple tv nothing in music ? is it me?

I have just purchased Apple TV and an ipad, i have uploaded my itunes to icloud from my pc and activated sharing, i now have all my tunes on the ipad and pc and all have a little cloud with a red arrow next to them so all seems well, but when i go on Apple TV, and i'm all signed in and all boxes checked, i click on music, my music, and all files are empty, should i not see my itunes and be able to play them from my apple TV, or have i misunderstood what the cloud is for.?
Any answers please. Apple TV 3rd Gen,  Ipad Air.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't play music from the computer if there is none there. If you are using iTunes Match you should now be able to download and play all your music on the Apple TV from the music feature on the main page.
