Podcast won't submit to iTunes

Hi guys! I'me having trouble submitting my podcast successfully to the iTunes Podcast Catalog. Here's what I'm working with:
I'm uploading my mp3's onto Pod-O-Matic.com. Works just fine and I even got a little image uploaded with every episode. I have then made a post for every episode on to WordPress.com (BearfightPodcast.com). You can stream an episode on each post and you can click a link to download the episode. Everything looks just fine so far... I have now connected the WordPress.com page to my FeedBurner page. It syncs up perfectly. I have an image (1400x1400) uploaded to FeedBurner as well.
Now comes the frustrating part that I have been trying to figure out for the past 2 weeks. When I try to submit the RSS feed from FeedBurner (http://feeds.feedburner.com/bearfightpodcast/Ilbo) to iTunes, I get a little error message that reads "Podcast cover art must be at least 600 x 600 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests." I've looked up numerous blogs, youtube videos, tech forums, and people seem to try different things that work, but I have yet to be just as successful.
I have been using the RSS feed from Pod-O-Matic (http://thebearfightpodcast.podomatic.com/rss2.xml) and that has been working just fine. The only thing is that when you go to iTunes, find my podcast, and then click on "Website", it goes to Pod-O-Matic and not my WordPress page.
Can someone help me successfully submit my FeedBurner RSS feed to iTunes? If you need any other information that could help, let me know. Thanks! =]

Apple specify a minimum of 1400 x 1400 and a maximum of 2048 x 2048, though there is anecdotal evidence that large sizes may be rejected. At 1500 x 1500 you should be OK - and you are below the maximum file size of 500kB (just)  - so it's difficult to see why there is a problem. All I can suggest - and I'm guessing here - is that you reduce the size to 1400 x 1400 and possible bring the file size down a little to be on the sage size, change the filename, then re-submit and see what happens.
SUCCESS! Thank you Roger Wilmut! I uploaded a new image that is exactly 1400x1400 at 72ppi, updated all my links, and was able to submit. Thanks again!

  • Podcasts won't play in iTunes or in iPad/iPhone

Hey so I'm having a lot of trouble getting some of my Podcasts to play,
My university records and saves lectures online through echo360 and last semester I was able to set them all up as podcasts so they'd come to my ipad/iphone and laptop! I tried to set it up to do it today and it wouldn't work. After hours of extensively looking through forums/discussions on here, I found this one:
Re: Why won't my podcasts play in iTunes?
Which seems to address a similar problem. After looking into it, it seems as though my university has changed the link from being http:// to https:// and perhaps that's why it's not playing?
So my main question is, is there any way around this/any way to change it from https to http to make it play? Or, alternatively, is there any other explanation that could be responsible for them not playing?
Sorry, I'm not very tech savvy and not sure if I've worded this very well but it's worth a shot!
    Thanks

The current (nearly) all 64-bit version of iTunes doesn't integrate with QuickTime. If you have content that needs QuickTime on your system then uninstall iTunes and all supporting components, then install the version of iTunes found here: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and reinstall QuickTime. The "for older video cards" release is a 64-bit installer for the core 32-bit iTunes application, similar to all 64-bit releases of iTunes prior to 12.1 and will work with QuickTime.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • TS2743 My podcast won't download from iTunes for anyone, anymore

Hi guys! I am the owner/host of Dorktown Podcast. Sadly most listeners (me included) are not able to download our shows off of iTunes. It has been on there for seven years and has been fine previously and nothing has changed from the feed. You can stream it but it won't download. The podcast feed and files are fine as they work on all other formats (including Stitcher). There is plenty of space on peoples phones or computer for the download.I
When I report the problem directly on iTunes it keeps telling me I've 'timed out' after I send the report even though it's only taken me seconds to paste the report and send it.
Please please please I hope somebody can help as it's driving me crazy that people can no longer download off iTunes.
    Thank you! -Mike

I subscribed to the URL http://www.walkingoliver.com/pak/wopodcast_xmlfeed1.xml in iTunes and episode 8 started downloading successfully. So perhaps the problem is solved?

  • My podcasts won't sync from iTunes to my iPhone

I had been downloading podcasts onto iTunes, with several on auto-subscription, with any new ones auto-transferring to my iPhone each time I plugged it into the laptop via USB.  A couple of days ago, I noticed that no new podcasts were showing up on my phone, checked iTunes against the ones on my phone and saw that several new ones on iTunes hadn't transferred.  I tried a manual sync, which did not work - new episodes visible on iTunes but not on my iPhone.  I tried going into the "Get Info" menu for an individual podcast, as mentioned on one of the other threads, to make sure that it was being recognized as a podcast rather than music or another medium - no change.  I tried advice mentioned in another thread (the user who suggested it readily admitted it was a temporary patch job), of adding all past, present and future episodes of a podcast to ensure I get new ones; I saw old podcasts that I had previously deleted, now eligible for download from the cloud, but none of the newer episodes that I had not yet been able to download.  The iPhone is a 5S, and software on iPhone, iTunes, the laptop (Macbook Pro, uncertain version) and the Podcast app have all been updated since this problem started as part of my attempt at fixing it.
Any other ideas for things I could do or try?  I can't recall updating any component in the chain (laptop, iTunes, iPhone) recently, nor have I changed any equipment, any iTunes settings, any phone settings, or otherwise.  These podcasts are a big part of what gets me through an hour and a half commute to work each morning, so any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I think happened because I am in the middle of it right now.  I just bought a ton of videos and also updated my software. I think Apple cleverly decided that now you can not update it without now paying for the Icloud feature that allows you to share all your devices.  You have to click Itunes match, I have never seen it before but when I clicked on it it was 24bucks.  This is actually pretty lame in my opinion because it moved all my stuff off my ipad on to my imac and now im paying another 24 bucks to get it back where I wanted it .

  • New podcasts won't sync w/iTunes 7

After upgrading to v.7, any of my new podcasts that have been downloaded (BTW, there's no longer an "Update" button -- wonder why that is) are greyed out and unchecked. I can't check the little box, nor play them in iTunes. When I sync my iPod, they don't download to the iPod, yet they've definitely downloaded to my computer.
What the heck does it mean when a podcast/file is greyed out & unchecked & unresponsive?

In iTunes, go to the Store menu and Deauthorize your computer. Play one of your purchased songs. When prompted enter your Apple ID and password. Now resync the songs.

  • Podcasts won't play in iTunes

    Hi folks,
There are two issues, one serious less so for the new version of iTunes 7.0 for XP.
The serious problem is that for reasons that are unclear, *no podcasts* will play! I've tried everything, but I am at a total loss. In the previous version, iTunes would just download stuff and I can play it, now, nothing. It acts as if there is nothing there. Is there something I need to do in iTunes that will allow me to play? Can I go back to a previous version?
The second issue is that in the previous version there was a tab called "entire library" where I could go in and delete played podcasts manually. Now, I can't do that and have to wait till the update takes it out OR even worse go into each org's podcast, click on the triangle and delete the old episodes. How can I get an entire library tab back onto the

well, since I stumped the iTunes people on my problem, I'd still like an answer to my second question-- in the last version of iTunes I was able to easily delete old podcasts from the library. How can I do that now???

  • Since moving iWeb site my podcast won't publish to iTunes

Ok, I have just recently moved my iWeb site from MobileMe to LCN and they seem to be hosting it fine EXCEPT my podcast is no longer downloadable from iTunes. This is obviously cos it's still pointing to the old MobileMe address so, using iWeb to try and republish the podcast from the new site I get the message "We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code: 404"
It seems to be the case that, since moving my site, I no longer have an rss feed to send to iTunes. I have asked LCN about this and I got this response:
"Unfortunately we are not able to assist with this functionality of the iWeb software - as the publishing to itunes via the iWeb software is not something over which we have any control or any advanced knowledge to be able to advise if this functionality is simply not possible if not publishing to the Mobile-Me service.
I would recommend raising this enquiry directly with Apple support as they should be more able to advise on a resolution to this problem."
Does this mean I have just moved my site to the wrong people and should use a different hosting service or is there something I can do here? Please help, I'm kind of lost here!

Web should create the RSS files automatically - there are links to them on the sites - and they should be at
    http://thetrap.co.uk/web/Podcast/rss.xml
    http://thetrap.co.uk/web/Event_Horizon_Crescent/rss.xml
(two separate podcasts) but there are no files at these addresses. The first thing to do is to check that these checkboxes are enabled in the Inspector:
though I would have thought the fact there are links to the feed would mean that these boxed were checked.
Then you should do a Publish all files from iWeb, using the FTP option in the publish pane. (If you had simply copied the pages over from MobileMe, that could cause problems; you need always to publish from iWeb).
If that doesn't do any good you have some ongoing problem in iWeb and the best place to ask would be in the iWeb Forum.

  • Videos and video podcasts won't play in iTunes

When ever I try to play a movie from either a podcast or a TV show, it will play about 1 second, stall, the "beach-ball" appears, the audio plays for that one second of video, then repeats. I am running a G3 iMac but before I updated to 10.4 (had 10.2) and videos played normally. Just wondering if there was any way to fix it.
(On a side note, after I updated OS X, online quicktime movies play the same way)

Andrew, have you tried re-installing QuickTime? That might fix it. Download it from Apple:

  • PodCast chapter artwork won't display in iTunes

I recently put together a PodCast walking tour, which had images of the different stops for each chapter. However, these do not display when the PodCast is played through iTunes (when it's retrieved from the feed, or when the file is played outright). However, the images/chapters display in QuickTime and on the iPod itself. Can someone tell me why this might be, and how I can fix this?
    Thank you!

I'm having a similar problem. I'm not creating the podcasts, but I am trying to view one that has chapter artwork. The podcast is "gdgt weekly" which you can download through the iTunes store.
The chapter artwork displays just fine on my iPhone, but won't display in iTunes 9, yet I can click on the Chapters menu and see small thumbnails of the chapter artwork.
How do I get the chapter artwork to display in the main window during playback of the podcast.

  • Episodes of a podcast which I see on iTunes won't transfer to the iPad. Why is this happening?

I have subscribed to a podcast called Polònia (by TV3) and I have applied the same settings as for all other podcasts I have working fine. I click on get all episodes and keep all unplayed episodes too, on Settings. Whenever I click on Sync, the episodes remaining for this podcast won't copy to the iPad, even if they show perfectly downloaded on iTunes. As a result, I can only get hold of this podcast downloading it from the iPad, BUT every time I sync with iTunes, the episodes downloaded via iPad on its own will disappear, as they get deleted when synchronising.
    Can anybody help on this?
    Many thanks!

Shut down and restart the app...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
    - Press the red to delete the offending app from this list.
    - Press the home button twice when done.
    - Restart the app

  • Podcast episodes won't update in iTunes since July - Please help!

I've had a podcast posted in iTunes since May and everything has worked fine up until a month ago. It's showing that the last episode update was on 7/27, when we've posted three new videos since then. Subscribers do receive the new videos, but the "About" page is still missing episodes that were posted over a month ago.
We've changed nothing about the feed format, and all other podcast services are posting info correctly (ie., podcastpup, podcast alley, etc.). I've pinged the feed after every update and contacted tech support with no feedback. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first thing to check when having trouble is to validate your feed with the feed validator at http://www.feedvalidator.org . You have problems with the length of two of your entries. You (or your software) added the phrase " bytes" after the number for the size of the enclosure. Remove the space and the word bytes so there is just a number between the quotes, and try it again. Make sure you update the pubDate for the channel so that the iTunes server will re-process the feed. Good luck, hope this helps. Mike

  • IWeb video Podcast won't play music on PC and crash iTunes.

I used iMovie to make a picture slideshow and added a mp3 file I got from a CD I own. I shared the slideshow to iWeb as a podcast with iLife06 and it built a page for it on my .Mac account web page. I published it and it went to the server flawlessly. I subscribed to the podcast on my Mac computer and it came into my playlist and played great. The problem came when I went to the website on my IBM PC. I at one time used it to hold the music for my iPod. I subscribed to the podcast, downloaded the slideshow to iTunes, and when I tried to play it on the PC I got a weird noise that would not stop. I had to control Alt Del to get it to stop. I am running the latest version of iTunes on both computers.

ensure that you are navigating to the video
correctly. The correct path to a video podcast on a
    5th gen ipod is /videos/video podcasts/*insert
podcast here*. I assume that you are attempting to
    access the podcasts via /music/podcasts/*insert
podcast here*. If you are accessing the podcasts
through the music menu, the podcast will show up, but
only the audio will play. If you access it through
the video menu, both the audio and the video should
    work.

  • My podcast artwork won't appear in iTunes

    Hello,
I have a podcast that has been on iTunes for over a week and a half and still the artwork isn't appearing on my podcast page. I have tried uploading an image on my feedburner and nothing is working.
    Here is the iTunes page
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-ne1fm-breakfast-show/id878551410
    And here is the feed
    http://www.podcastgarden.com/podcast/podcast-rss.php?id=3680
The image appears once downloaded and subscribed. Anyone who can help me? I really don't know what to do.

Your image is correctly referenced and compliant in all parameters with the requirements. It usually takes quite some days for the image to appear on a new podcast, so it's just a question of waiting.

  • My ipod touch (4th gen) won't sync with itunes, OSX

My 8gb ipod touch (4th gen) won't sync with itunes. Running itunes 11.4 on OSX 10.6.8
My touch was running fine until one day I found about 3gb occupied by 'other' space. I ended up restoring my ipod which took care of the problem, but created a new one in that the ipod will no longer sync anything from my itunes library. I have music set up to sync selected artists, and when I click the checkboxes to select my albums and artists to sync, the 'audio' bar fills up.
When I click 'apply', the 'starting sync' and progress bar pop up for like half a second then disappear. Same goes with photos, apps, podcasts, etc.

Verify that you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Try syncing using the manual method
